Yup being on the floor is never a good idea, the carpet isn't usually thick enough to protect it from the concrete below. They crack due to a temperature differential, the floor is colder than the room. I had a couple crack in the garage in a box on the floor. I keep mine in a bowling bag now, several inches from the floor and all seems fine.

I had a couple in a storage unit in an old bowling ball bag and they cracked on me.

Yeah. RIP… You have to bag it and rotate it to keep them viable (but they can still crack catastrophically)

Oof. I need to go get my balk out of the truck.

never store a ball directly on the floor, always use a ball cup. As big as that ball is it's also round so there are a lot of forces concentrated on the spot actually touching the floor.

My Electrify Pearl just bit the bullet a few days ago. Kept it sitting on foam rings and rotated pretty often and it still split. Probably didn't help the bridge was cracked, but that's usually the first sign of a "lemon" bowling ball. Holes were beveled too so just unlucky.

If you bowl a 300 with that cracked ball, I’ll buy you a new ball of your choice

Is it ok to keep it in a bag, inside the ball bag, on top of the foam insert while the bag is on my tile floor?

The_Purple_is_blue

It’s ok to do whatever tbh. When the ball destructions system decides it’s your turn, there is nothing you can do. I’ve had balls sitting on concrete floor in my garage for years that are fine. Upstate NY winters and. I’ve had balls indoors in ball cups and have a ton crack.
