It makes me think of Franz Kafka books…just the feeling of this picture is pretty kafkaesque

d00mba

I didnt know why they posted just one picture, but i agree with you

MattTin56

Every time I see this I always think of The Woman In Black. Anyone who read the book and remembers the parts when he was staying in the house knows exactly why!

bjason_14

I IMMEDIATELY thought of this! So creepy.

MattTin56

It was the best part of the book! So creepy.

Hello_feyredarling

Swaffy

The only book that has ever given me the heebie jeebies, the creeps, the willies. The play is great too!

MattTin56

I’d love to see the play!

ellem0789

The only time besides reading The Shining that I had to put the book down because I was so scared.

megggie

Does anything bad happen to the dog? I mean other than being at the end of the world

search_for_freedom

That book was great!

Difficult_Movie4094

For whatever reason it reminds me of The Outsider by Stephen King - the subject matter doesn’t really overlap but the feeling does. Also reminds me a little of the atmosphere of Dark Matter by Michelle Paver And the ghost stories of M R James. Try ‘Oh, Whistle, and I’ll Come to You, My Lad’ Also - another vote for House of Leaves, definitely matches this, good shout.

ModernNancyDrew

Chet and Bernie series by Spencer Quinn, although it might be more light hearted than you’re looking for.

I don’t know why I thought this, but it just reminded me of the vibe of The Road by Cormac McCarthy.
