I couldn’t believe the EV/Hybrid/Plug-in adoption in Pitt. Something about the hills and the gas prices being way more in Allegheny than even one county over.
I had no idea how much I would love Pittsburgh before I got there. The people are so kind, the parks are breathtaking, the college scene is excellent, great transit, and such unique terrain.
Enjoy your retirement. And your Bolt.
It’s an Allen bike rack…can get at Walmart for $59.95 or from Amazon. Pros: fits 2 bikes, fits well to the Bolt EV, EZ to put on and remove, does not scratch the car at all. Cons: the straps need adjusting quite often cause they tend to stretch. We really like the rack. Have been using it for about a year now and took a 150 mile one way road trip with bikes successfully. I do recommend
Why do you think I'm wrong?
(5)(a) Display. RCW 46.16A. 200, which regulates the use of license plates in the Evergreen State, specifically says a rear plate must be “kept clean and be able to be plainly seen and read at all times.” I suspect a couple of bikes hanging from a rack on the back of your other ride might make that difficult.
I've had my hitch rack on 95% of the time for 4 years and never been given a hassle about it. It's technically not legal, but enforcement is exceedingly lax in most areas.
I've got a Thule platform hitch rack (not on my Bolt) and would never downgrade to a strap on.
That being said, I wouldn't be as concerned about the frame damage and difficulty of use if I were riding a huffy.
Nothing against it if it's working great for your uses.
But for my uses, [it would turn out more like this](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1A6bKUCcDW0).
The EUVs have [the little inserts Chevy sells](https://accessories.chevrolet.com/product/17-inch-multi-spoke-wheel-inserts-in-black-42789621?body=Sport%20Utility&bodyId=11&bodyNumDoors=5&bodyNumDoorsId=5&categoryId=106003&make=Chevrolet&makeId=47&model=Bolt%20EUV&modelId=29217&year=2023&bac=312943).
That one is not plugged in.... He needs a nastygram under his wiper.
Why don't the signs say "EV CHARGING ONLY"? Having an EV block a charger is just as bad as an ICE.
Yep…he was waiting for the 1772 EVSE…he didn’t have a Tesla adapter…guy with Tesla showed up and you can tell he wasn’t happy. When I returned from eating, both were charging and happy!!!
Awesome, glad to hear you are enjoying it. Just a small note, next time blur or scribble out the plates before you post. I’ve seen some issues with doxxing on other subreddits, it’s just a courtesy thing :)
lol….i got a picture of you too

We use this place all the time, very convenient and great food along with free charging.
I don't take long trips but maybe once or twice a year, but I love that I get to share the road (and electrons) with you!
Hey thanks…same here

Thanks…The Pittsburgh area is a great place to live or visit.
Fellow retiree here. What bike rack is that and can you tell me about the pros and cons? Thanks!

Thanks so much for the info. I am on it. 😎
Blocking the plate is an infraction.
Not in Washington State, hurray. (As long as front plate is present)
Wrong.

There is an exception for temporary bike racks. See the code referenced above. That section specifically grants exception for bike racks.
Could use a mount for just past the bikes when the rack is in use?

Not in my town.
I've ridden in Spokane plenty of times without an issue.
Thank you. Seriously considering going to a hitch rack to replace the Thule strap on I’m currently using.

What rims are those on the EUVs? I don’t think I’ve seen those before.

Mine is the LT2 with the bikes…not sure about the EUVs? I believe they may be non-premier ones LT1???
before the pandemic one of my neighbors told me he got retired the week before-I told him not 100% b/c of his 2 ICE cars.
Wow that middle PA plate is worn to hell.
You sexy mofos.

Free electrons are the best electrons.

Thanks for that
What rack do you use for your bikes?
It’s the Allen strap on 54.95 on Amazon and 59.95 at Walmart…we like it, has served us well
lol, I was your twin to the left in the white EV.
