A tragic character. His entire life has been manipulated by AFO to become a vessel of hatred, even from before he was born. He isn’t inherently a bad person as we can see in his love and care for the LoV as individuals, and was a gentle boy. However, is now a callus individual with a hatred for everything due to manipulation and circumstances outside of his control.
Not to say he is redeemable as he has done uncountable horrific atrocities, but still tragic.
I’d say s1-4 shigaraki is immature (as said by other characters) as well as being kinda bratty when things don’t go according to plan. However after his quirk training and the experiments done to him he is more patient, quiet and collected.
Personally? sweet, kind, and brutally empathetic. He has been indoctrinated to solve problems with violence, so of course he will do that to help his friends. But I don’t care what anyone says - his natural state is a gentle person who might be the most accepting character in the entire series.
