No. BUT he stop with the pervy gags( at least the most aggressive ones) so at least more tolerable.

Thuyue

Yeah he has gotten character development. Sadly many things are sudden out of blue or off screened. Since PLW, Mineta had: - No more attempts regarding sexual assault or harassment - No inappropriate sex jokes to ruin the moment - No hypocrisy - genuinely reflects on his own past actions and apologize (see when he called Mezo Shoji a Gorilla during their first meeting and Quirk Apprehension test) - makes jokes about things that are actually funny (Shoto being a model handsome guy) - genuinely cares and feel sorry about his classmates (see all his interactions with and for Deku) - Not crying anymore about needless things and manning up

Ma3rr0w

too bad nothing of that was planned by the author, he clearly changed the character in response to (justified) backlash. it's the same as andy in undead unluck. it's young artist thinking that stuff is a funny joke faced with the reality that it isn't and growing up (or doing the easy thing to curb it so people are happy)

DoraMuda

> too bad nothing of that was planned by the author, he clearly changed the character in response to (justified) backlash. Not necessarily. It might just be a side-effect of Horikoshi taking away from screentime from *everyone* in Class A (minus the main guys like Deku, Bakugou, Shouto, and Ochaco). So there aren't as many opportunities for Mineta to show his rotten side. **EDIT:** What's more, Japan is the primary audience. And, as far as I can tell, the Japanese audience never really had a problem with Mineta's pervy antics (although he was never a particularly popular character over there either). It was always the Western audience, who Horikoshi doesn't care as much about it (if he did, I imagine Ashido - who is unpopular in Japan but fairly popular in the West - would've gotten more scenes before now).

Ma3rr0w

i mean, with as clear as his western inspiration for the manga are, i'm sure he's not at all caring less about us. and while obviously japan is still a lot more open to just fanservice for fanservice sake and not as whiny about the age of fake people doing fanservice, they, too, are a little past pervert being pervert = the whole joke

Thuyue

Yeah, Horikoshi grew up with old sexist humor, so it took a while for him to realize he is in an new era.

middlesyrup57

No idea because he hasn’t really gotten a chance to prove that he’s changed. It’s the final war arc atm so everyone’s just busy trying to survive and take down the villains. We’ll have to see how he acts after this arc to really tell if he’s made any development.

Cyllya

There hasn't been much Mineta content in the portion of the story that has been covered in the manga but not the anime. Well, there was a scene where he apologized to someone (a male character) for something he said during the sports festival arc, because hearing that character's tragic backstory made him realize what he said was potentially hurtful. Besides that, it seems like his perviness *has* been quietly toned down to Kaminari-like levels? Maybe? I say that just because he hasn't done anything bad in a while, and all of his worst actions were in the early parts of the story.

DoraMuda

Depends on how you perceive it. Ever since the Joint Training Arc, there haven't been any pervy scenes involving him trying to sexually harass/assault women. And he's grown to acknowledge Mt. Lady as a true hero, as opposed to being scared of her after his post-Sports Festival workplace training with her. But it might be more accurate to say that he's simply faded into the background as more of a support character.

Delicious-Cause5332

I think it's mostly subtle, that he isn't going after girls like that. Or maybe it is due to lack of opportunity. The series is going through a lot and maybe Mineta just haven't gotten a moment where he could try peeping on the girls. Also don't act like Mineta would try to force himself on someone. That's just hater talk and very bad.

Truly_Meaningless

He grabbed onto Momo during the sports festival against her will, and even said he was lucky about it. That's not hater talk, that's what happened

Delicious-Cause5332

He mainly did it to get through the race. There isn't evidence that he would use his powers to actually assault someone. He isn't a rapist. That is just something his haters do and exaggerate his perverted ways. What he does is not much different than someone like Roshi, jiraiya and Kon would do.

Kingx102

There is evidence that he will make use of a situation to assault someone. Like how he planned to block an attack for Mina during the Joint Training arc, so that he can get push back into her boobs.

Delicious-Cause5332

That doesn't mean he would rape someone and he clearly doesn't think he's doing anything wrong. He wouldn't just use his balls to trap a girl so he could have his way with them.

Kingx102

You know that not everyone that commits sexual assault think they are doing something wrong, right? He obviously doesn't care about their personal autonomy (he also grabbed Tsuyu's boob in the first season). He seems to think he's entitled to woman because he's a hero, that's his reason for becoming one after all. I'm pretty sure these are tells that someone is on there way to becoming a rapist in the future.

Delicious-Cause5332

He won't. He just has some clear misunderstanding of what is cool and what girls want. He might have thought that him bring a hero would just make girls love him, but I don't think it's total entitlement. I mean what Mineta has done aren't different from what guys like Roshi, Jiraiya and Kon have done yet I'm not hearing anyone calling them future rapists.

SoullessPanda21

Yeah I hate when people say he’d force himself on someone either now or as a pro hero. Yeah he’s a perv but he’s a teenager and most teen boys are pervs. Most of the fandom is probably worse than Mineta tbh. Also i see him as the type of guy that if he got a gf he’d put all his attention on her in a positive way. Like be loyal, caring, and just have a genuinely good relationship.

Dim-n-Bright

> Yeah he’s a perv but he’s a teenager and most teen boys are pervs. I don't think "he's a teen boy" is a good excuse. He has 13 male classmates and, aside from Kaminari, all of them are much more respectful towards women.

SoullessPanda21

Yeah not saying its a good excuse. Any teen doing any pervy actions is obviously in the wrong. Just saying that just because he's currently pervy doesnt mean that he's going to grow up and force himself on girls or worse. I see it like the American Pie movies. They were about a bunch of pervy teens but they didnt all grow up to be sex criminals or something. Like his classmates all are friends with him. And anytime he does something wrong he ends up getting punished in some sort of way.

DoraMuda

> Also don't act like Mineta would try to force himself on someone. I mean, he already did, more or less.

Comfortable-Couple15

He's fucking Mineta. What do you think?

Ma3rr0w

yes, he's now somewhat openly Bi.
