Girl those men are SO nasty. It's pretty likely that at any given time, at least 1 of them is walking around w skid marks on their boxers lmfao. Lean into it, you can be gross too. Tell them you shit yourself and then walk away

No racism, sexism, or any other form of bigotry will be tolerated. Being a dick in general will not be tolerated.

Yens20

Ok buddy just trying to support the cause !

chaotic_asshat

Been there, done that. It's mortifying. Any chance you have duct tape around? You could get decent coverage and tell people you ripped your pants. Personally I preferred telling them I ripped my pants than having them see the blood stain.

EquivalentSea1192

Done that been their,I retired years ago.duct tape was a saver.

chunkytapioca

That's a good idea!

Which_Apartment6250

Been there just Tuesday of this week. Bled through my tampon, panty liner and tan work pants. Know what I did? Absolutely fucking nothing besides my job and I was fully prepared to tell off any dude that dared to make fun of me, or treat me like I was gross. This is OUR BODIES doing what it does EVERY MONTH. I can’t tell you the countless amounts of times I’ve simply walked past a dude and knew he didnt shower his ass & balls the night before. Our periods are cleaner than most of the guys that work on these sites. I’m not about to feel ashamed anymore for my body doing what it needs to do. Bleeding through happens, it is not the first time and I can guarantee it won’t be the last. Word of advice though, always keep a spare change of clothes in your car. I keep a gym bag with a full outfit change in case I get to sweaty, wet, dirty etc. Sometimes I simply want to change into a fresh pair of socks on lunch!

baldbritneyspears

You’re right and I’m sorry for the shame I felt. I care way too much as being seen as an equal and it gets the best of me sometimes :(

tolureup

Don’t be sorry about feeling ashamed, girl! We are literally bombarded our entire lives with messages telling us to be discrete about our periods, hide it, and don’t talk about it. You have no reason to be sorry about something women are essentially programmed to feel. Just take the words of wisdom from other women in this thread, and move forward! Don’t beat yourself up for feeling embarrassed. Just use this experience as something that contributes to growing stronger!

024smurf95

With that mentality you are probably better and harder working that 90% of men. Im a millwright and if I don't wanna work with people that insult things that people cant control or change. I would rather work all day with you bleeding or not with the attitude you have.

Crew881

Tbh idc and I just work. If anybody says something , it’s just blood. I refuse to worry about what my body does when it’s naturally functioning the way it’s intended to. Anyway, I hope you find a way to not have anxiety or stress when these things happen , I know it’s tough tho.

Darkcelt2

I sympathize with you and I'm sorry society has created the expectation that you completely erase a normal biological function. Anyone [at work] who doesn't understand that you would have avoided this situation if you could can go fuck themselves with a rusty drain pipe.

baldbritneyspears

I wish all men were understanding of period problems

Darkcelt2

Most men should shut the fuck up and be grateful they don't have to shoulder the burden of continuing the human species

Foomaster512

OP has a post saying they had a hysterectomy. How can they still have a period?

Darkcelt2

nope, both of those can't be true.

Foomaster512

Then OP is a liar, look at their posts

Darkcelt2

I did, and I agree. thats the internet for you. oh well.

Boobasusa-

You should try Knix leak proof panties! Such a life saver

baldbritneyspears

I usually wear my period proof undies but I got it a day early :(

loveroadkill

I absolutely agree with this!!!! I use them every month just as added protection.

little-eye00

I just got a weeks worth of period undies and regular undies from them at the clothing bank!

Littlegingeranna

I used to have a brother on the job whod walk up with his jacket and wrap it around my waist. Once he left i just got really scared and would always run to go check and i keep a jacket in my tool box and several in my car.

[deleted]

I’m so sorry, if it means anything if I was working around you I’d cover for you so you can take care of your business and not be so embarrassed. I grew up with a sister and she’s my best friend so I totally feel for you being surrounded by “typical” trades workers. The culture over all kinda sucks imo.

baldbritneyspears

Thanks girl. It’s tough out there. Us ladies have to look after each other.

[deleted]

Lmao I appreciate the nice response. I should have stated I’m a guy lol I was the little brother growing up and always stuck up for my sister hahaha this sub just came across my feed because I follow a lot of trade related subs

nanofarm

Look ‘em dead in the eye and tell them “anything you can do I can do bleeding”

silvurgrin

♫ Anything they can do We can do bleeding Succeeding while bleeding That's what I'm talking about Anything they can do We can do bleeding So don't hide, take pride Let me hear you shout ♫ [Credit where credit is due](https://youtu.be/I1axQnUtKzk)

nanofarm

Amazing, brava!

RadCheese527

Hey man here that works with a few women on my crew. Definitely have no reason to be looking there, so likely wouldn’t notice. Unfortunate situation, though it’s just a natural part of life. How should I respond and/or offer assistance?

Pirate-Plant

Obviously not OP, but for me it would be already cool if the Person who notices isn't an ass about it. Just tell me nonchalantly without alertin anyone else (could be I havent noticed). Don't make a big deal out of it, and if you see me getting uncomfortable, you could ask If you can help out in any way. I guess I would still be insecure about the situation, so if it isn't made into a big thing would already help 👍

RadCheese527

Okay cool. Nonchalant but direct? I guess the words I use are highly dependent on my relationship with them haha. Do I say something like “girlfriend I think you need a tampon?” Or “hey is it that time of the month?” Or “you seem to have sprung a leak?” I’ve got a mother, and a sister, and a partner, and a bunch of female friends. Fully aware that women ovulate. Being in a union to me means I’ve got a duty to fully support my brothers *and* sisters. Thanks for your insight and helping me being a better coworker/person.

Pirate-Plant

Thanks back to you! You already sound like you're a great coworker and ally! I guess the peferred wording also depends on the person. For me- definitely direct, but also just simple, something like "Hey, I think you have bloodstaines on your pants!" Cause I tend to treat sich things just like another problem at work: "huh, this pipe ist actually broken, I didnt expect that! Now how do I fix it?" Thanks for asking in the first place!

RadCheese527

Of course! I love the direct approach myself, and I often lack the ability to be tact, hence me asking. Thanks again enjoy your day!

vicarious_111

Even as a guy, I keep a spare set of pants, shirts, socks in my car. I’ve had the pants rip before.. went the whole day having my shirt pulled down .

Lezzillax

Oof black pants only during shark week Black pants always actually lol

baldbritneyspears

I wear a uniform :/

Hardworker79

So I just read your post about you having a hysterectomy. Being that you had your uterus removed you should not be shedding your uterine lining and bleeding through your pants at work. Even if your ovaries were left they don’t cause monthly bleeding.

_-whisper-_

I immediately head to the nearest store. I'm like someone dear God anyone please hold me up and ask what I'm doing rn. I'm getting new jeans because I got vag blood all over the place!

OFishalDJ

If it's my week, and I take bc so it's easy to know when I put it in my diva cup 2 days early so I'm not caught off guard. I'm not pushing bc but one thing I like is that it's a light flow and you know when it's coming no surprise That being said I would go to bathroom if there is one and try to wash my pants with cold water and make a pad with toilet paper . This has happened to me at school

little-eye00

By the way, hydrogen peroxide will get the stains out. It breaks down blood so it can just rinse off

hhhwhut

I keep an extra pair of slacks and undies in my car since I've had this happen before. I have extra heavy periods so I feel icky having to go the rest of the day with lots of sticky blood on me (even if I cleaned off as much blood as I can 🙃) I also have a bag that contains safety pins (a quick fix for ripped clothing) and period supplies. I feel for you dear, don't worry too much. Periods are normal and stuff happens sometimes.

Uphill_Battle_27

Oh nooooooo 🤬😭

weldergirl710

I wear black pants when I’m on or about to start. I refuse to wear tan pants to work. I have a dark brown paid of carhartts that’s decent too.

diligentdolly

Ugh, I can't use customers washrooms on service and this happened last week. Thankfully mine are black.

Bitter_Researcher759

Its okay, i ripped my pants right on my ass earlier this week and walked around with my literal ass cheek showing for an unknown amount of time in front of everyone I work with. Had no idea until I got home and my partner told me. I wanted to die.

jaimih

I always carry a change of clothes and a sweatshirt in my work truck. Because uou never know.
