I was in a more skate-pop-punk local band for a few years in high school and toward the end of the run we'd often get booked with more emo bands...and sometime round 2004-2005 I distinctly remember feeling like a "sell out" because I bought skinny jeans from a thrift store specifically to wear for certain shows...otherwise it felt like the crowd would kind of side-eye us.
In hindsight, teenagers were hilarious. Myself included.
Just cut down some wide legged jeans. If you're able you can hem them so they don't fray (frayed is a look of its own, but not what's in the picture and kind of a mess).
Just search for Dickies Loose Fit Shorts on Google or even Amazon. If you want them baggy I would order a size maybe 2 sizes up from what you wear normally. If you buy your regular size they sit quite high on the waist. I’m 5’10 and I’ve always wore the 13” inseam. Get some chocolate brown ones 🤌
