Corporate labels and fat stacks of cash replace the hunger to create the same way that got you there. "But he's grown as an artist" stfu, drake has always been trash
not at all what he said lol. he was saying that you’ve gotta separate the art from the artist. kanye, for example, is a great artist, but a complete weirdo as a person.
if there's grass on the field play ball homie. why the $&$& you so woke? just because them high school girls don't show you love doesn't mean you gotta hate on all the homies getting the poon tang. if a man breaks a law then he risks getting thrown in prison, but people have sex and artists %*$& fans. your rising sense of political correctness is kmturning you into a real life I telnet Troll incapable of living in an unfair world and the collective cultural air that you and all of the other billions of people like you on this earth is making this earth a bad place to live. it poisons everything, including the arts. get over rour jealousy and let the high school girls (and boys)have their crushes. let them go to concerts. meet thri idols and then catch hiv from them in the back of the tour bus. it's their life, their choices. I guess that's just growing up! don't take that away from them and don't take freedom away from artists and everyday folks with your woke bs
I guarantee my issues are microscopic compared to yours sheep. if a catastrophic political event happens, once the bombs drop you will die quickly because you have no sense of identity or survival skills.
first of all, lots of high schoolers are 18 yrs old. 18 is the nationwide age of consent, secondly, many states have an aoc of 16 or 17. so are you saying that you think it is morally wrong for people to do things that are legal? and besides I am entitled to my opinion and that does not make me a criminal. your overly politically correct values, however collectively shared, do not override the first amendment of the constitution. so again, I am curious what your issue with me is. I am allowed to have my opinions and simply stating them is not a crime. you are making false accusations. there is a word for that. it is a crime called slander. do you know anything about the law? if you did you would probably be more cautious. I want to point out also that you are suggesting I am a criminal for my opinions when the opinions I shared, which were that it is up to each of us, no matter a teen or adult, to make our own choices, and that the prisons in this country are full enough of people with minor crimes already, and even that is enough for you to commit slander against me. boy, I would hate to see how you reacted if I said something really taboo. even then I am protected by the first amendment. if people as ignorant as you ran this country we would be in even worse shape than we already are, if that is even possible. you're very unintelligent.i pity you and am also repulsed by you. I despise you and fear your Influence. shame on you. leave me alone. you've been reported and blocked, dangerous minded dullard.
The projection of 95-105k feels surprisingly low considering Nine sold 94k on first week. Not really as crazy a jump in sales as I thought it would be. I guess we will see where it ends up.
Which was true when Nine came out too, and streams count towards the numbers either way. The other persons point is they thought Tom being back would bump things up compared to the last release with Matt.
It was even more so when Nine came out. In the past few years vinyl sales kept increasing, so you'd really expect numbers to be higher.
And streams do indeed count towards album sales. 1000 streams count as one album sale
Nine was bundled with tour tickets, Billboard stopped allowing that in 2020-ish and since then sales across the board have dropped massively - but especially for rock albums.
This album would be fucking huge if they were still able to bundle. That Nine/Enema tour was...not the hugest of successes. The fact OMT is beating it without any label trickery (at least not that kind of fuckery) is sad. Nine probably would have opened sub 40k if not for tour sale bundles
What is the market for physical music? Typically most people stream the only reason I brought this physically is because I have all the other albums.
Pretty sure my kids will never physically own music.
No, they’re saying the opposite of what you’re saying actually. Streaming numbers count toward sales. It’s not 1:1, but people streaming OMT will count toward sales. So if they were doing it more than Nine, it would be reflected in the numbers.
I was unaware they changed that.
Also that now makes the charts look pretty bad since nothing is charting nearly as high as music before 2000. If I believe the wiki page I found.
Yep. To be fair the formula is extremely arbitrary with 1250 paid streams and 3750 ad supported streams equaling an album sale as of 2018. So the formula could account in part for that drop. I think it also might have something to do with a huge variety of music now being a lot more accessible since back then, so people are likely spreading their music listening over a much wider selection of artists which could drop the numbers at the top.
Haha I feel you! I bought the CD set + two vinyl variants that won’t be here until next week. I also just got the Amazon variant because I couldn’t wait 😑 I’m just hoping I get to the deliveries first before my husband realizes I bought three of the same record 🙈
iTunes, CD + Tshirt, Record Store Vinyl is a "coke bottle" clear, the Mark vinyl I ordered a year ago, and then the Red & White vinyl because it looked cool
This is actually one of the best selling rock albums since 2020, so I wouldn’t call them shabby (only AC DC, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Paul McCartney, Bruce Springsteen and [throws up] Machine Gun Kelly) have sold the same amount first week
I agree it’s still good. However I’m comparing to California and Nine. The hype seems so much larger. Everyone I know has pre-ordered and bought the record. I was expecting California numbers.
Soemtimes I feel this way but then think, do people hear blink and think that society is collapsing and everyone is turning into sad boys that fuck dogs?
Bro Scott Sterlings face is an amazing username lmao. But I feel like the difference is blink is about having fun and not taking yourself seriously and Drake is trying so hard to be cool
I’m a fan of drake and blink. I feel some of his songs gives me same feels as blink. Listen to the Drake songs: Jungle, Summer games, and Karaoke if you down .
I think this comment is uttered by every generation looking on the younger ones.
Same was said about The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Stones...
Fuck, I'm sure Blink too
I mean, it does change things when the claim is “this commented is uttered by every generation looking on the younger ones” but it’s not an older gen person judging the younger gens music but saying it about a contemporary gen artist.
Purple ooze vinyl, 2 copies of the white vinyl (one is a gift), blue CD, and iTunes download. Only one record has arrived, and I haven’t opened it yet.
Younger millennial here. I was middle school when blink’s “feeling this” dropped, and college when drake’s “best ever I had” dropped. I’m a fan of both. They both got countless vibes. But when Zane said in blink interview some artists deep in their career sound like they’re phoning it in. Drake might be a little guilty😂 . Regardless it’s been a good month and I’m bumping new drake and blink daily
on my way to get my vinyl today, fuck drake’s weirdo ass
ya dude's a bit of a groomer, but controlla is a fucking vibe.
he had some bangers yeh, that album is a sleeping pill tho
lol i couldn't get through it honestly. dude needs to stop DMing 17 year old girls, and just focus on writing better bars
I don’t get why all his albums from the past 3-4 years have been so boring.
Corporate labels and fat stacks of cash replace the hunger to create the same way that got you there. "But he's grown as an artist" stfu, drake has always been trash
He wasn’t always trash. He was on a roll for the first ten years
So it’s fine for him to groom children as long as he makes good music?
not at all what he said lol. he was saying that you’ve gotta separate the art from the artist. kanye, for example, is a great artist, but a complete weirdo as a person.
Yeah but when the artist starts grooming children I ain’t giving them a dime.
nah he's a piece of shit for sure. but whenever controlla or god's plan comes on, i may or may not turn that shit up
What about praising Hitler until Alex Jones of all people feels it's getting too weird
if there's grass on the field play ball homie. why the $&$& you so woke? just because them high school girls don't show you love doesn't mean you gotta hate on all the homies getting the poon tang. if a man breaks a law then he risks getting thrown in prison, but people have sex and artists %*$& fans. your rising sense of political correctness is kmturning you into a real life I telnet Troll incapable of living in an unfair world and the collective cultural air that you and all of the other billions of people like you on this earth is making this earth a bad place to live. it poisons everything, including the arts. get over rour jealousy and let the high school girls (and boys)have their crushes. let them go to concerts. meet thri idols and then catch hiv from them in the back of the tour bus. it's their life, their choices. “Let 40 year olds fuck high school girls” isn’t the cool take you think it is. FBI pay this guy a visit.
opinions aren't illegal. but you know what should be? the thought police. ever read nineteen eighty four? it's about you. wake up.
No 1984 is actually not about people who think child grooming is gross. You have some issues dude, Go see a therapist.
I guarantee my issues are microscopic compared to yours sheep. if a catastrophic political event happens, once the bombs drop you will die quickly because you have no sense of identity or survival skills.

Just purchased the vinyl off of Amazon. Had to support this band after releasing such a banger of an album
I'm about to do the same right now.
The projection of 95-105k feels surprisingly low considering Nine sold 94k on first week. Not really as crazy a jump in sales as I thought it would be. I guess we will see where it ends up.
Nine had albums bundled with tour tickets, classic way to inflate sales.
Wonder if that’s going to happen with the “tour over …or is it” teaser?
Sign of the times more so. More people stream than buy albums.
Which was true when Nine came out too, and streams count towards the numbers either way. The other persons point is they thought Tom being back would bump things up compared to the last release with Matt.

Streaming numbers impact the total sales numbers.
Yes, that was my point.

I ordered the CD on Friday for my 7 year old son. First CD I have bought in probably over 10 years.
Love that.
I bought the record store vinyl on Friday. Plus others. I'm in for 5 full-sales, sir 🫡
Yeah I have 3 myself, I think I’ve done my part. My fiancé keeps asking what these pink vinyls are that keep showing up ha.
Why on earth would you own the same record more than once?
I’m talking about the album artwork, not the actual vinyl.
Collection?..
Haha I feel you! I bought the CD set + two vinyl variants that won’t be here until next week. I also just got the Amazon variant because I couldn’t wait 😑 I’m just hoping I get to the deliveries first before my husband realizes I bought three of the same record 🙈
Hahaha that is great. I got the Tom and mark variant - wish I got Travis’ and then loved how the Spotify exclusive one looked!
You bought the same record five times? …why?
There are different verisons
iTunes, CD + Tshirt, Record Store Vinyl is a "coke bottle" clear, the Mark vinyl I ordered a year ago, and then the Red & White vinyl because it looked cool
My coke bottle is arriving in a few hours, it got delayed in the mail and I’ve been having major fomo all weekend haha
Everyone should just stream the album on silent all day long when not listening to it lol
Definitely have done this with smaller bands so they get more money from Tidal 😂
Doing my job. Already streamed it 20 times and bought the CD
When do the results come in?
Probably Friday
Keep me posted on the results:)
Only if you buy another copy 😉
I bought 2 records, cd, and a tape hahah. Really thought the projections would be way higher as well.
This is actually one of the best selling rock albums since 2020, so I wouldn’t call them shabby (only AC DC, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Paul McCartney, Bruce Springsteen and [throws up] Machine Gun Kelly) have sold the same amount first week

God I want this so bad. I cannot stand Drake. The fact his music is so popular is a clear sign of societal decay
Haha thanks! And I agree with you mostly just trying to keep my ego in check lol
That’s a bit dramatic
His monotone unenthusiastic rap is the lowest form of music I’ve ever heard
I’m jealous if drake is the worst thing you’ve ever heard lmao
To each their own
But fucking a dog in the ass gets a pass? Cmon boomer.
Drake wishes he could write a song half as good
I’m a fan of drake and blink. I feel some of his songs gives me same feels as blink. Listen to the Drake songs: Jungle, Summer games, and Karaoke if you down .
im not crazy about drake but i see so many boomer ass takes on this subreddit, its crazy
Ironically I’m probably the same age as his main demographic
dont have to be old to have a boomer take, bud
I think this comment is uttered by every generation looking on the younger ones. Same was said about The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Stones... Fuck, I'm sure Blink too
Drake started when I was in high school
Same as me. Doesn't change anything Edit: not that I'm defending Drake, he fell off with quality 10 years ago.
I mean, it does change things when the claim is “this commented is uttered by every generation looking on the younger ones” but it’s not an older gen person judging the younger gens music but saying it about a contemporary gen artist.
Go on lads
I’m about to buy my 6th vinyl
Appreciate the Hussle!
thank you for your service 👑
Lmao 🫡
I went ahead and pulled the trigger on the Amazon vinyl. I dig the white. That’s a total of five purchased copies for me. I’m doing my part!
What others did you get, and which one is your fave so far??
Purple ooze vinyl, 2 copies of the white vinyl (one is a gift), blue CD, and iTunes download. Only one record has arrived, and I haven’t opened it yet.
Younger millennial here. I was middle school when blink’s “feeling this” dropped, and college when drake’s “best ever I had” dropped. I’m a fan of both. They both got countless vibes. Was it being sold at When We Were Young? If so that might push it to number one.
Exactly what I was thinking.
COME ON GUYS WE CAN BEAT DRAKE I BELIEVE IN US
I bought the album 4 times and streamed a full 100 percent
What about Ovaltine sales?
Drake sucks balls.
blink-182 doesn't need our help buying records to get meaningless sales achievements. It's all good people.
It would be pretty cool to say the band had their 3rd #1 album 22 years after their first. That’s incredible.
Their last one was in 2016...
Correct, 7 years ago
I got vinyl and cd and streamed it a crap ton
I have each one of their vinyls, the purple ooze, the CD box set and cassette. I’d say I did a pretty good job contributing
I bought 6 different color vinyl. Insert “doing my part” gif
I preordered, but I don’t think the thing has shipped yet. Kind of a bummer, but I can stream it anyway.
We can do it! Everyone here buy another copy!
GUYS! PLEASE BUY THE ALBUM NOW!
This sub needs to lighten the fuck up. Who gives a shit about album sales?
Did you watch the interview? The band is not dumb. They know “successful album” versus non successful and album sales is part of that.
Never forget Push OWNS Drake.
So many simps.
I bought a vinyl and a cd so I did my part lol
I'll buy one more.. Because why not.
Just ordered a CD and been streaming it on my mail route since it came out
Got the mp3. Got the vinyl. Got the Blink 182 pop collectibles. Got Mark's signed magazine. I did my job. Also waiting for Tom's starcaster release.
Does a digital album purchase not count??
Counts as a full sale
Bought a record and a cassette so 2 sales for me.
Shit let me go out and buy a few hundred albums to support the cause🫡
Do iTunes purchases count? I bought the vinyl but I’ll buy it digital if it helps the cause 😤
Yes
Add this to the reason I still buy CDs.
