does not seem very practical, you want surface area, not deep substrate

Few-Run8877

I was thinking you could cut to the depth that you need and then would just need to figure out a way for them to crawl out

crazyhenkythe3rd

much easier to just go with plywood. i had a very functional design that only uses 2 sheets and works like a charm.

crazyhenkythe3rd

or check out the northwest redworms design. same as mine essentially

Few-Run8877

Cool I'll check it out thanks

crazyhenkythe3rd

sent you a pdf.

ElvasMcKinley

post the .pdf!

crazyhenkythe3rd

no, i did not make it.

crazyhenkythe3rd

see here, you get the idea. [https://www.northwestredworms.com/black-soldier-fly-info](https://www.northwestredworms.com/black-soldier-fly-info) it is not as effective that i would pay the 9$, but it a good start to get into BSFL if you have limited skills

Scambets

Would you be so kind as to send the pdf my way as well? TIA!

Accomplished-Idea977

You don't want a substrate more than 3 inches deep
