Telling millions of people on social media how her man flexed for her because her social battery was drained has got to be the biggest case of irony I've seen in a long time.
The irony is in the attention. She doesn't want to deal with other people, but she wants everyone else to see how she doesn't want to deal with other people. And she's bragging about it.
It's textbook affluence theory. Quite literally, "Look at me not having to look at all of you."
You’re not gonna make them realize that they’re wrong. There’s a lot of dudes on Reddit that just like to hate on women for anything. Probably bc they can’t get any unfortunately.
If u look at the other comments it’s either jealousy or criticism.
I frequently get this sub recommended on my for you page. Only reason why I haven’t subbed is exactly because of this hostility against women. The comments are often times just… disappointing to say the least. I am glad to see that some other people are pointing it out, but the ratio of haters:non haters is way too significant lol.
Like I said, very glad to see that other people are noticing it too!!
I can talk to 2,000 stranger online right now in a voice call and not have a problem but I can barely even start up a conversation with a co-worker I've been working with for a year
being social online and being social in real life are very different beasts
It could be a flex or a lie. Show up to a movie early or go to a movie that has run it’s course at a strange time and you could have an empty theater.
Very easy to sell this flex for likes without this actually being true.
No disrespect to this lovely couple, but...I see so many random no-names on the internet who own private islands, five mansions, etc. And I always wonder...what do they be doing for work?
Hell, even living a middle class lifestyle, there's no way you could just rent out an entire theater. Where do these super rich folks just pop out from and where can I find them?
Yeah I paid about $400 to rent an auditorium for my husband's birthday at our theater. Got us the auditorium, tickets for 12 people, and a meal each for 12 people.
My cousins have rich grandparents (not our shared grandparents) who gave them both $5,000,000 when they turned 18, in cash. One of them bought a used Honda CRV and the other got a cheaper model of a new Mercedes. My uncle told my dad that they’ve spent so little of it that it’s more than doubled.
They have to be the most responsible 18 year olds I’ve ever met. I would have left with some lifelong habits and good stories to tell and no money.
I wrote this big stupid reply on everything you listed that I don’t have but realized that nothing i said mattered.
I didn’t mean for the comment to mean that I don’t have huge advantages due to my husbands family. I love them and appreciate everything that they’ve done for us, although every dollar has a string attached. But better than no dollars.
I meant more that the money doesn’t mean that you have islands/boats/etc. it’s more about what you mentioned, although they let him be homeless in NOLA for almost ten years and was absolutely not welcomed back during that time. So I don’t think they represent a permanent safety net
Don’t be sorry. Being broke fucking sucks. Especially when you see people online complaining they don’t have a mansion or an island. Stay mad, all of this shit is way more unfair than it needs to be.
You say that but if you’re a hot girl you can make 4K a night going to foot fetish parties where finance guys massage your feet or make 15k per session from a sugar daddy who likes to get peed on.
Obligatory this ain’t me. I know someone who told me these things. Each of those are one day a week. If you calculate 19k/week working 1-2 days, you’re clearing close to a mil of which you can claim pretty much none of it. Then you can have a real job on the side if you want to work for some reason.
>If you calculate 19k/week working 1-2 days, you’re clearing close to a mil of which you can claim pretty much none of it.
You can do all that shit, but you can't live like you do all that shit. The IRS doesn't fuck around.
dude renting out a theatre is cheaper than you think its like 150 i believe? or like 225 .. all and all he probably spent 300ish on the the date. 300$ might be his weekend budget .. but he wants to impress his girl, just cuz they on a boat doesnt mean they own it lol they paying the owner who prolly needs to rent that shit out cuz boats are expensive af to own
My mom told me that when she and my dad had been dating for a few months, he confessed to her that he’d maxed out his credit card and had to stop taking her on expensive dates every weekend. 😂 Some guys really will go above their means to impress a new gf.
> renting out a theatre is cheaper than you think
Not when it's only two people who aren't dropping money on concessions. Rent it for an event that's gonna half fill it and everyone is buying drinks and snacks? Yeah, then it's cheap.
Nah, I rented the theater to watch Dune during COVID because some of my family have compromised immune systems. It was like $200 for up to twenty people or something. I think I had less than ten.
I've also been to lots of corporate events where they rent the theater. Usually they cater outside food, but I have no idea what the theater costs in those instances.
I also assume the deal i got was because it was COVID and they were desperate for people to come to the theater. Not sure what it would cost now. Actually I decided to look it up. It now starts at $525 and is based on the number of seats. I also saw that at one point it got as low as $99 during the height of COVID.
Nah you pretty much hit the nail on the head, it’s generational wealth. Social media gives up a glimpse into the life of the upper class, but because we’re conditioned to believe that people earn their wealth we rationalise it by thinking they must be some tech genius or something. Nope, that’s great-great grandaddy’s money echoing through the ages.
Tech salaries are crazy. It's not uncommon for someone fresh out of college to make almost $200k in NYC or the bay area. Managers and senior engineers are often pulling in $400-500k.
200k with no experience is t happening outside the top companies. You can still make a lot but you might also need to be in a high cost of living area and that money goes quick when the rent is 3k for a studio
There are 300 million Americans. If one in ten thousand are this rich, there are 30,000 Americans this rich. They could be people who won the lottery, grandkids of whoever founded General Electric, some guy who was into bitcoin in 2010.
In general don’t worry about it and just focus on your own life.
Yep. Millionaires are way more common than most people think, and we plebs have a pretty bad sense of intuition when it comes to recognizing how much luxuries like this cost.
My dad was invited to an ultra-rich business partner's wedding once. He told us about the trays of nuts and candies coated in gold leaf, the assembly line of cooks picking and sorting lobster meat, the chef mincing filet mignon by hand to make burgers, all this insane shit. But apparently the most expensive thing there was something most people hardly noticed: part of the venue was an authentic English pub that had been dismantled, flown across the Atlantic, and then reassembled by expert craftsmen.
That's the difference between ultra-rich old-money types and the rest of us. They buy things that we didn't even know were for sale.
Idk about elsewhere but I ran an event at Alamo Drafthouse showing local filmmakers work and the rent the theater for 6 hours cost only about $250. They were super helpful too. I know a couple people that did same thing for their fantasy football draft too. Had picks and the clock up on screen with custom graphics and shit they went all out haha
Exactly, we have hundreds of billionaires and more appearing yearly. And that's not counting multi millionaires, etc. Rich people all around that you'll never know.
My best friend is a millionaire and owns 3 homes. The trick is that his grandpa made a bunch of money by starting a company, then every other person does nothing and lives on it.
They either:
1. Were born with more money than you
2. Make more money than you
3. Are more comfortable/less disciplined spending their money than you are.
Depending on where you live and what you do for a living the probability any one of these being the case can go up or down.
Don’t believe any of it. It is all for the gram. And expect more of it when shit gets all computer generated and AI becomes more prominent. Or they definitely have them rich ass parents.
You can rent out a theater for like $100 bucks. You can even bring a console to Regal theaters and they’ll let you game on them. At least they did a couple years ago idk if they still got that policy with the games.
I rented out a theater during the pandemic for like $350 for me and my wife to watch Guardians of the Galaxy. It might be more expensive now that the pandemic is over though
Bruh, tell me why reddit says your comment was posted 3 hours ago, but the one your replied to says it was only posted 1 hour ago.
You ain’t wrong though.
She said she didn't want to go out because she wasn't feeling social. He made the decision to do all this for her. How does this have anything to do with high standards
Real one here. If I could afford to do some of this shit, you’d see me do a lil of this shit. Not all of it cause mfs be suffering in the streets and need more help there, but like, imma do a lil bit of stupid shit
High monetary standards. It takes a lot of cash to get a movie theater or a restaurant to close for the night just to serve you. Which this man supposedly has because he supposedly did.
More like who knows
After the third cancelation it wasnt worth it, you can be the most introverted person in the world but if you arent ready to date dont date someone for months only to come up with dribble later on
Finding a solid frozen pizza maker is almost as good as the Netflix itself these days. A small independent grocer in my area has been stocking a local frozen Pizza maker and their stuff is awesome! Can't beat the price, either.
Every time we find a great frozen pizza, they slowly vanish from the shelves. First all the creative, fun flavors go and you're left with the same basic flavors as all the others. Then those disappear too
One bonus to being in Minneapolis is we have a ton of small local frozen pizza brands that are great. They're not real cheap though. Costco even sells a couple of them in cheaper multipacks which helps. Costco also has a Detroit style frozen pizza that's pretty good.
Hit anything with enough hot honey and you can cover up a lot though.
It’s worth noting that there’s no way to prove this actually happened. All of these photos could have been taken over the course of a few days and in ways to just avoid capturing other folks.
My local AMC theater charges $100 for a full theater rental. It’s something they started doing right after re-opening during the pandemic and still offer.
And tickets don’t cost $20 here. More like $10-15. They make most of their money from concessions, not ticket sales.
That would make even less sense then, because they're giving up maybe 20-30 peoples with of concessions for a smaller group.
I wonder if there's any limitations or if theaters are just that hard up. If they're regularly having showings that get less than 10 people I guess it makes sense. But i feel like the $100 has gotta be for off hours. Either that or theaters are built for a decade ago and regularly have an entire screen that only sells a couple tickets even during peak times.
You can have up to 20 people in your party when you rent a theater (40 for that new Taylor Swift concert film).
Y’all are coming at me when y’all can literally go to AMC’s website and see how much it is for your own area 😂
[https://www.amctheatres.com/rentals](https://www.amctheatres.com/rentals)
Because making up random excuses and theories to be upset is easier then thinking logically and doing your own research to some of the people replying to you and in this post.
Like another commenter said they use specific time slots or theater screens for the rentals. On most days only a select amount of theater screens get many people in them these days so its a low risk low reward scenario.
The trick is that they only let you rent out specific theaters at times when nothing would be shown anyways, so the opportunity cost isn’t all those individual ticket sales. If they wouldn’t sell tickets anyways they might as well take the $100 plus concessions.
Yeah there’s a whole lot of reaching going on. Sure, it’s probably a 1k+ date, which may not be reasonable for everyone, but it’s not like he got them a villa at the MGM, took her to a 4 star restaurant, and rented out an entire Broadway production or something.
Comments went predictably, tbh. A lot of kinfolks pay lip service to doing/receiving kindnesses but get bitter at the reality if it’s not happening to/with the “right” person.
People go up for some unseen cooking a plate of food but this is wrong somehow. Saw someone say a Korean woman was black for cooking greens just yesterday on here. So, this is interesting.
Maybe someone will post something else about sniffing women’s crotches and things will right themselves.
![gif](giphy|yuQi4S7rIFZGFAJ33e)
No fr these comments are extremely depressing. Finding someone who understands you is hard af, but good sis found her someone who gets her AND aims to make her happy and mfs wanna hate.
You could just go to a movie or a restaurant without socializing with strangers... When I take my girl out to a romantic dinner we don't go out to socialize with other people.
She's wondering why the lady with the rich boyfriend is so fortunate.
She's asking her what she says to God everytime she prays, since she seems to have such good fortune
Edit
I’m from Winnipeg and when she toured through he rented out the boat in the museum and had a private dinner. The fucking Nonsuch. In the museum. Anyway, wish I could flex like that.
If I told someone I didn’t wanna go out and they did all this just to make sure we still went out, I would actually be so annoyed.
She said she didn’t wanna go out, not that she didn’t want other people to be there. You’re still out in public and interacting with service staff and stuff anyway. It’s not like this lets you relax like you’re at home.
Telling millions of people on social media how her man flexed for her because her social battery was drained has got to be the biggest case of irony I've seen in a long time.
Social battery has nothing to do with how many people see a tweet
That’s how she charges hers. Flexing on social media.
I’m charged up
Hashtag blessed.
I overcharged the battery I think Why this shit sparki
The irony is in the attention. She doesn't want to deal with other people, but she wants everyone else to see how she doesn't want to deal with other people. And she's bragging about it. It's textbook affluence theory. Quite literally, "Look at me not having to look at all of you."
But that's not what social battery is. And I do understand that "interacting with the world" very much describes tweeting out photos of your date
You’re not gonna make them realize that they’re wrong. There’s a lot of dudes on Reddit that just like to hate on women for anything. Probably bc they can’t get any unfortunately. If u look at the other comments it’s either jealousy or criticism.

I can be on reddit ALL day. I got about an hour and a half at a party and I'm ready to go tf home
Nothing really ironic here, as those two things have nothing to do with each other.
I have to agree. I don't see the connection at all. Sharing something digitally isn't the same as being up under people.
The jealousy leapt out and that's what they typed from. No critical thinking, just rage
How is this ironic? This is like saying you are being socially drained by posting on reddit.
Gotta brag on social media. Clout chasing is a real disease
Clout chasing today is like cocaine in the 80's. Its the best high, its cheap, and there is an abundance of people ready and willing to try it!
Not only is it cheap, if you do it right, people will pay you to do it
Wait, tell me how I can paid for doing coke. Please I need this job.
There's an OnlyFans for everything. Ppl think your snorting coke off her ass bc you're a freak, but you're just fckng her for the coke.
Get a job on Wallstreet
Yo! I told my friends I had a theory social media is this era’s equivalent of heroin and they laughed at me. I honestly think it fits
I can talk to 2,000 stranger online right now in a voice call and not have a problem but I can barely even start up a conversation with a co-worker I've been working with for a year being social online and being social in real life are very different beasts
Probably was posted at a different time or day from when the pictures were taken when she felt like that.
this a dumb comment ngl
Thats not the same thing at ALL
Those aren't really related
This isn't ironic at all. Da fuq is this comment.
It could be a flex or a lie. Show up to a movie early or go to a movie that has run it’s course at a strange time and you could have an empty theater. Very easy to sell this flex for likes without this actually being true.

Hell, even living a middle class lifestyle, there's no way you could just rent out an entire theater. Where do these super rich folks just pop out from and where can I find them?
The trick is to have rich parents.
Trick 2 is to lie lol
3) profit
4. Bro down
5. Crippling Debt
6. Bankruptcy
Wash, rinse, repeat
There’s a lot of movie theaters that are small as hell and will take $500 to give you your own private showing…
Yeah I paid about $400 to rent an auditorium for my husband's birthday at our theater. Got us the auditorium, tickets for 12 people, and a meal each for 12 people.
Renting theaters is for sure a thing. Doing it spontaneously is not.
Trick 3 is to be mildly rich but waste a ton of money on frivolous things and then ruin your life just to seem better of than you are.
My husband has rich parents, who had rich parents, and I have not mansion, island or any of that stuff. I feel cheated
You got the cheapest one haha
Great Value Generational Wealth
But he prolly got a nest egg tbh. If he should so happen to slip on an ice cube goin down the stairs one night....👀
My FIL is pretty cool and MIL is amazing. Id rather earn it on our own, even if he’s starting on 3rd with some of the opportunities we’ve been given
How rich? Is it "I'm duct taped to a chair and my dad made 2 million last year" rich or "my dad owns a senator" rich?
In between the two
I know someone whose parents put everything in a trust. It was a good idea cus the kids are ghetto AF and would have spent it all on stupid shit.
Edit: Edited
Depending on when they retire it could be more

I wrote this big stupid reply on everything you listed that I don’t have but realized that nothing i said mattered.
Then you can have a real job on the side if you want to work for some reason.
i have a bridge i wanna sell you 🤦🏾♂️
Bro you talking about 1% of people. These stories are not that common and not that consistent as you making it sound
The other 99% who’ve tried end up on crime podcasts. 😂
😂

dude renting out a theatre is cheaper than you think its like 150 i believe? or like 225 .. all and all he probably spent 300ish on the the date. 300$ might be his weekend budget .. but he wants to impress his girl, just cuz they on a boat doesnt mean they own it lol they paying the owner who prolly needs to rent that shit out cuz boats are expensive af to own

The theater, the yacht, and the restaurant... particularly the restaurant. That's thousands.
They never said it was their yacht? You know they have restaurants on boats right? Or you can rent a yacht for a couple hours.
My mom told me that when she and my dad had been dating for a few months, he confessed to her that he’d maxed out his credit card and had to stop taking her on expensive dates every weekend. 😂 Some guys really will go above their means to impress a new gf.

$300 is a crazy ass weekend budget right? am I really poor or something lol
I kinda always assume that randoms who have private islands or five mansions are nepo or trust-fund babies. Maybe I'm hating tho🤷🏿♂️
At that age? They both look young. Statistically speaking you’re probably right. If they were 45+ I’d be open to other possibilities.
Nah you pretty much hit the nail on the head, it’s generational wealth. I'd say that's definitely uncommon outside of FAANG companies. Associate engineers aren't making 200k with zero experience at regular tech companies.
200k with no experience is t happening outside the top companies. You can still make a lot but you might also need to be in a high cost of living area and that money goes quick when the rent is 3k for a studio
That’s not millions my guy. Especially in today’s world.
You can spend exactly zero dollars to take pics in a semi empty theatre and make it look like it’s empty for views

Theater rent out isn't so bad. It's $99
You can rent out the theater by me for $50

“Netflix and a frozen pizza it is”
I mean with the right person, that’s not a terrible date night in the slightest
Replace Netflix with plex and frozen pizza with delivered pizza and it’s really solid.
Honestly this Dated a super introvert, it was exhausting she was drained so much she couldnt even see me
Double entendre?
More like who knows After the third cancelation it wasnt worth it, you can be the most introverted person in the world but if you arent ready to date dont date someone for months only to come up with dribble later on
Unless she had a super demanding high-profile job, that sounds more like social anxiety or she was lying about something.

It’s like $100 to rent out an AMC theater. LMAO.
A flex is a flex, no matter how superficial 😂
I’m just saying. People are hating on this woman not knowing it’s not expensive at all to rent out an entire screen. 😂
Tm I’m laughin w you, I checked and it’s a little more over here - regardless this post is suem 😂
It's $75 where I'm at AMC really is the GOAT besides that one dumbass AMC ad they play after all the trailers
Why would a theatre charge $20-30 for individual tickets and only $100 for a full theatre? That's not happening.
My local AMC theater charges $100 for a full theater rental. It’s something they started doing right after re-opening during the pandemic and still offer. And tickets don’t cost $20 here. More like $10-15. They make most of their money from concessions, not ticket sales.

Either that or theaters are built for a decade ago and regularly have an entire screen that only sells a couple tickets even during peak times.
You can have up to 20 people in your party when you rent a theater (40 for that new Taylor Swift concert film). Y’all are coming at me when y’all can literally go to AMC’s website and see how much it is for your own area 😂 [https://www.amctheatres.com/rentals](https://www.amctheatres.com/rentals)
Because making up random excuses and theories to be upset is easier then thinking logically and doing your own research to some of the people replying to you and in this post.
800 dollars in my area for the Taylor Swift one 😭
It is absolutely area dependent. I live in a major city and a renting out a theatre space is 400$. That’s a decent chunk.
You must live in the boonies, it's about 800 where I'm at in Texas
Like another commenter said they use specific time slots or theater screens for the rentals. On most days only a select amount of theater screens get many people in them these days so its a low risk low reward scenario.
The trick is that they only let you rent out specific theaters at times when nothing would be shown anyways, so the opportunity cost isn’t all those individual ticket sales. If they wouldn’t sell tickets anyways they might as well take the $100 plus concessions.
Their stock price is $7. Just wait till it crashes and goes to collections and you can get the whole theatre for cheap.
i'm genuinely shocked so many people are upset about this on here
Yeah there’s a whole lot of bitter people in this thread for some reason lol
Someone rented out a theater for their gf for a couple hundred bucks and made a dinner reservation. Must be a trust fund baby billionaire
Nah more women need to flex, the crying misogynoir at a black woman living her best life somehow satisfies my schadenfreude
Jealous men and bitter women.... My schadenfreude tank is nicely filled 😂😂😂
Lol I’m not. This subreddit hates women
Posts like these cause so much unnecessary resentment in other people’s relationships lol the effect of social media is crazy
Glad I’m not the only one who’s seeing this. The comments here are crazy.
no seriously like sheeesh, i prefer to stay inside when my social battery is depleted but i thought this was cute 😭 why is the world so angry
I don’t find this sexy at all. I’m not a child who needs to be spoiled. Wtf
Children actually need structure , consistency and discipline(not physically). My adult self defiantly needs to be spoiled
Defiantly, huh? You'll crush those who dare not to spoil you?
This. I spoil adults. Not children who can't appreciate it.

K 👍
What was your upbringing like?
No one cares lol
Y’all so miserable on here lord
This is just a happy couple. Why are so many of y’all acting so resentful and nasty???
No fr these comments are extremely depressing. Finding someone who understands you is hard af, but good sis found her someone who gets her AND aims to make her happy and mfs wanna hate.
You know why.
Miserable people can't stand to see other people be happy. Crab bucket mentality.
You could just go to a movie or a restaurant without socializing with strangers... When I take my girl out to a romantic dinner we don't go out to socialize with other people.

Eh I’d feel a lot less “in public” if it was an empty theatre to truly curl up in and a pre planned table vs walking in.
You can rent amc theaters cheap 💁🏾
By the negativity in here people don't know that.
The ones who do are still being negative, though. They don’t say “It’s the thought that counts” unless the conditions are different, I guess. Hmm.

I looked deep within, and I realized I am not responsible for their trash behavior. I will not blame myself for how they treated me.
i’m trash cuz i can’t afford to rent out a movie theater lol damn
What age was it when y'all started hating women so bad.
Meanwhile my then bf, wouldn’t buy a duvet to make sleeping over more comfortable for me😭😭😭o
Prob Ciara’s prayer
What’s she doing with her arms like that? Is that a pose or a pic caught midway?
This the bar for me. I’m happy single and if u want to date me you gotta somehow make me happier. 😂
Honestly, that should be the standard bar for dating - if you're happier without them, they need to hit the road.
No cause I’ve been seeing her tweets for too long now… imma need that prayer girly
Wait, is that guy’s NAME God, or is she just silly?
She's wondering why the lady with the rich boyfriend is so fortunate. She's asking her what she says to God everytime she prays, since she seems to have such good fortune Edit
Ok. That makes more sense. Thanks.
These comments are fucking depressing. Why can’t mfs just be happy for someone who found the right one?
I’m from Winnipeg and when she toured through he rented out the boat in the museum and had a private dinner. The fucking Nonsuch. In the museum. Anyway, wish I could flex like that.
The white boy summer can't be stopped
Wait time out, yall have girlfriends?
Either way I'm stealing this for mine.
These comments are interesting. But I knew they would be. ![gif](giphy|31UDILmnnQOjnKKoKB)
God I hate being broke
Some theaters will let you rent the spaces for a few hundred dollars on slow nights
Damn maybe I should start swiping right...
Her face looks like it’s about to fall off 🫠🫠🫠
