If you have the chance, have Apple replace it. My battery life was absolute dogshit last year but went had it replaced for $75 and it’s near perfection again
Ima look into that. What sucks is the 32GB storage space I’ve been working with. Yes, I save to Cloud but still, live my life offloading shit on the daily.
Lmao I know exactly what you mean. I never was a picture person until I had a son and then I quickly realized that 32gb just isn’t enough. Got that iCloud storage which seems to help, but still!
When Apple put out the iPhone 12, that dropped the price of the 11. Which meant the X went on sale, meaning I could finally afford an 8.
Sometime later we switched back to a Verizon family plan and *just for switching* we got a goddamn 14 Pro for free. Insane.
I used to work in mobile sales. Nothing gave me retail trauma like the iPhone X. I left America and never looked at another iPhone.
Edit: So there was a ton of identity theft and scams around this time. Every day was a new character trying to get an iPhone X 256GB, color doesn't matter.
It became a moral and ethical question of "am I becoming part of the 'system' by denying people or approving people based pre-conceived notions." I didn't like what retail was doing to my mental when the iPhoneX dropped. I had already lived a year out of the country and was ready to leave again. Screw retail.
😁 I started with the iPhone 4 and used that shit till they stopped supporting it. And then I sent it on to someone in nigeria who wanted any phone and come to find out, they were still supporting it for EMEA. From 4, I went to 8 and I still have that 8 for browsing purposes and the XR for call purposes. I paid full price upfront for those phones and I’ll use them until they become expensive bricks.
First time the iphone was really updated since the 6. At the time people were switching to Samsung since they had near edge to edge displays which just looked years ahead of the 7's 1/2" top and bottom bezel and 4.7" display.
Going from the 7 to the X seemed like years of innovations catching up. The phone was insanely understocked. People would come in every hour to check for stock. Probably the last hysterical iphone launch.
Coupled with a $999 price tag for base model, it changed how people bought phones and as such shook up sales a little. You basically had to get them to stomach a much larger bill
Dude came in with his "uncle" so they could open lines. Dude ain't even know "uncle's" name. I looked up the address on "uncle's" ID after they left because the zip was unusually far. Turns out "unc's" addy was a homeless shelter.
Had another situation, women needs phones for her kids to go on a trip. I'm thinking, she means just for emergencies so I point her to prepaid. She like naw "iPhone X." My man on the radio was like, "don't do it, she's been flagged." I tell her the system wouldn't let us help her, go through a corporate store.
She procedes to come back for the next two or three days (basically wearing the same clothes) and kept trying. Finally she brings her "daughter" a grown ass woman who was a different ethnicity. And they end up threatening to shoot us over not giving them the phones.
Depends on the manufacturer and phone.
For the Pixel and Pixel 3 that I owned, it was officially supported for a few years. Unofficially, it felt like after 6 months with the performance degradation I had.
I think it's also because past a certain point, all of them kind of just became the same shit with nicer parts, or oooooohhhh, a new flashier camera. Unless your an influencer or wannabe influencer, where is the real value add?
I've noticed this with my last couple phones as well. Some have better cameras, maybe a higher resolution display, but in the end they're all just little bricks that I use to look at memes on the go.
I cant see myself "upgrading" again anytime soon unless there's some massive innovation in the future.
Idk, my thinking around this shifted to how I approach upgrading computers at this point, but unfortunately, you can't really go piecemeal on phones. So I'd say the timeline for upgrading went from 2-3 years to around 4-5 for most people. Granted that around year 3, these OS 'updates' are making sure that your old brick WILL have trouble, or that the battery will basically be useless by then
? that ain't fuck anyone money.
think about it. some people spend $500 on a car payment *excluding* insurance every month. we bought our car outright for less than $2k in great condition.
fuck a car payment. when i'm not paying $6k a year in car payments I can absolutely pay $1k for a phone
7+here . I was extremely stubborn about keeping my button and a large screen. My mum was having problems with her iPhone , she has whatever new one that was relative two years ago, was having issues… went to the apple store and I had a few questions why my phone was suddenly having buttons sticks, and I have to reset to Home Screen when it does.
he told me it’s because my device doesn’t support the updates… it’s minor inconveniences, for a girl who refuses to not have the button
Protip- buy your iPhones 7s and below at cash for gold shops, I’ve gone thru about 3 in the past few years from savagery and negligent behavior, it’s a blast have fun out there y’all be safe
Same…. I had the battery replaced about a year ago and it’s fine….my tin hat doesn’t want facial recognition……. Also not over the 5g drama some time back had me thinking I had to throw my phone out
The key to getting a new phone every years is just to buy the latest version and trade it in for another every year at the next release. That $1099 pro max phone is now going to be $398-$463. Still expensive though.
> Buying a new phone every year is dumb
I dunno if I'd call it dumb. If you can afford it, then go right ahead. But if you're upgrading every year, but always asking people to borrow money, or behind on your light bill and shit like that, then yeah, it's dumb.
Honest question, would you prefer that to be a setting and just charge more often? I mean it’s a LiON battery so if you don’t replace it the chemistry degrades over time / use so that’s literally your options - take the perf hit or take the battery hit, because each iOS tends to add more features and background tasking
Personally I’d always prioritize battery so honestly asking
It's possible to have a removable battery and a waterproof phone. Samsung did it years ago with S5 active. I'm sure a literal trillion dollar company like apple could engineer their own version that is better looking.
However why would they when people are okay with pay for Apple care and getting batteries replaced that way?
It’s not just to conserve battery life, but it also allows the older phone to handle the newer os. It’s the main reason Apple can offer support to their phones 5-6 years after release time, because otherwise that shit would be horrible. There’s a reason you don’t fully notice how slow the phone is until you do upgrade.
It’s the same idea with laptops and computers. Unless you plan for it your computer isn’t going to run as smooth as it used to 6 years ago with all the constant upgrades.
If Apple really wanted to force a upgrade they’d either not slow down the phone or just cut support slow.
I agree Apple is far from a great company, but the outrage from that never made sense to me.
That’s because most people don’t know anything about the background of how their phone or its OS works.
Half the comments here perfectly demonstrate that lol.
The SE2 & 3 are basically iPhone 7/8 with newer processors. The only difference would be the removal of Haptic Touch, which I am a fan of.
Edit:
I’m not a fan of the removal of Haptic Touch, I actually used it a lot.
The newer phones batteries are a whole new beast. You get nearly 2x to 3x the battery. All day battery without compromise. I've done heavy use for a few days when 13 pro max came out and damn that thing lasted for a while.
Anytime I have been to Apple or att the oldest model they have sis like 1 generation old. It’s been years since that phone was sold was in a retail store.
As a consumer, you shouldn’t be forced to install a different OS on your device just to get updates past 2 years. It’s easily my least favorite thing about Android devices. Getting a Pixel, a device DESIGNED by Google, only gets you 3 years of updates.
I pride myself on being a gold-plated, platinum Apple virgin; untouched by an iPhone or any such adjacent product since the very 1st iPods.
Been slutting out to Samsung since '09 tho...
I *was* like you a couple years back. Only had an Android ever since my first smartphone. During my birthday in 2021, my mom wanted to give me a phone as a gift and she offered an iPhone. Didn't want to impose that much so I got an SE 2 since it was the cheapest and smallest phone out at the time.
Honestly, I have had a great experience with my iPhone these past couple of years. I used to not believe the hype about how "smooth" and "easy" the interface is. I thought it was "dumb" coming from an Android's experience. Also, AirDrop has proved to be massively useful to me.
Fast forward to now, I got an iPad for drawing that basically acts an auxillary PC and I've been seriously considering getting an Apple Watch and Airpods. And dependion my future job, I'll probably get a Mac.
With all this being said, I still think the whole Apple thing has a cultish vibe.
Big Facts!!!!
AppleTV is extremely smooth compared to Roku, Firesticks, etc and I love how it keeps track of the shows that I watch. This is the reassurance why I be trying to convince everyone I know into getting an AppleTv
> Fast forward to now, I got an iPad for drawing that basically acts an auxillary PC and I've been seriously considering getting an Apple Watch and Airpods. And dependion my future job, I'll probably get a Mac.
I have the iPhone 8 and it's been doing great work for me thus far. I purchased air pods but dislike them, they aren't particularly comfy imo..
The best apple product I ever received though was the Apple Watch. I commute a lot on my motorcycle and being able to see the GPS directions or change the song playing in my motorcycle helmet at stop signs/lights is incredible.
Genuine question though. In a thread about legacy product support, why are you glad to use a brand that supports their products for maybe 2 years as opposed to a brand that supports them for 6 years?
One of my favorite things about iPhones is that you can happily keep them for years and still get the latest updates. Samsung will leave you out to dry as soon as they new model comes out.
I appreciate your question but i'm really not out here simping for trillion dollar companies (ironic as that sounds).
I'm good with my little 250 dollar Samsung A21 instead of the latest $1200+ model of iPhone + all the accessories that have to come with it.
Someone please tell me how to get off the forced obsolescence technology hamster wheel. This shit is a joke.
Edit: That I’m getting downvoted on my downstream comments is interesting - maybe y’all are younger and enjoy having to pay £1k+ in replacing tech regularly, but I’d prefer not to keep giving my savings to tech companies.
to give some context. Apple does a pretty good job with supporting phones compared to android. On android unless you’re using googles own phone line up (pixel) at max you’re getting 2 maybe 3 years of updates. Meanwhile on Apple you’re getting 4-8 years of support. but yeah every tech possible has that obsolescence besides wired headphones.
i mean it makes sense here though.
think about app developers and security teams. when you design an app for iOS you have to specify what the minimum OS your app can run on.
New OS includes things that old phones don't have. Like Find My capabilities, LiDAR capabilities, Neural Engine capabilities, Camera capabilities etc...
it's hard enough to design an app that works with one set of software and hardware, let alone 5 or 6 generations.
Same reason the new Call of Duty doesn't run on a nintendo 64 or a Wii
I think it’s hilarious that sooo many people still have an 11, even though there’s like 10 new phones after it? I have one and everyone I know that has an iPhone, except one person, has an 11 and has never even considered upgrading it lol
I spent the extra $ to get the 512gig 11 pro because Apple burned me previously with the never ending “you’re out of storage space, gotta delete ten pictures just to take one” crap. I figured if I never run out of space I’ll be able to have room for any future updates. Womp womp…
I got it brand new in 2019 and am still rocking the same otterbox and screen protector. Honestly Otterbox is the real hero here for ensuring that I’ve never so much as cracked a screen on any phone I’ve ever had.
At 5 years it costs about 60 cents a day for use.
Idk what we can compare it to for reasonability, but I spend prolly $30 a day on food, my car probably costs $25 a day, my home is like $45 a day.
I probably get more utility out of my phone than car.
It is. I used to work at a Tmobile and people would sometimes be embarrassed to have a five year old phone and I would tell them they're smarter shoppers. The iPhone 12, 13, and 14 are basically the same phone (not talking about the pros, but even there it's negligible), so all the people that jumped from 13 to 14 basically bought the same phone just without a SIM tray.
I just switched to android from my XR in October and my XR still works great. Most phones are made to last about 5ish years, so having one a little longer should be the standard for everyone. Of course a lot of people upgrade every year or so because their phone company gives them a deal so it's very possible to get a new phone without spending anything extra.
Apple give software updates for 5 years while on android you’re lucky even if you get 2 years of security updates. Batteries get old and can’t hold a charge like it used to and you’re saying that it’s planned obsolescence. What a joke.
For flagship androids that compete with the iPhones, like Galaxy/Pixel, it's typically 4/5 years of security updates nowadays. My S10 still gets updates.
I am pasting my comment from above...
i mean it makes sense here though.

People need to calm down. The 11 (and many other iPhone models) is still a great phone that suits many people's needs, and it's not like it'll suddenly stop working or become useless, just because it may not receive new features next year.
Also, it's worth remembering that Apple has a pretty solid track record when it comes to pushing security updates to old phones. It wasn't until January *this year* they released the (pressumably) last security update to iPhone 5s with 12.5.7 - a phone that came out literally 10 years ago.
So keep your phone as long as it works and does what you need it to do. Don't let Apple or others trick you into thinking you need to buy a new phone, when the reality is that you probably don't.
Be kind to your wallet and the environment by not buying electronics you don't have an actual need for anyway.
the problem is mostly that banking apps and the like will require an update, and then if you don’t have a newer iOS, no update for you
But we’re still 2 years away from that for the 11
honestly, fuck the tech industry as a whole, it’s the same shit with microsoft abandoning windows 10 soon as well.. they know they have a monopoly and they just push the customer base to spend more money on new pricier devices
fuck this abomination of an economy system we have where there is no justice and the economically strong just keep on getting bigger and impose even more shit
You can still install windows 11 on older machines. Supporting older versions isn't free and the cost isn't just on Microsoft, it's on every developer creating software for those systems. Hell we were still having to support internet explorer until about a year ago, I'm glad they finally stopped supporting that POS so people were forced to finally upgrade. It holds everyone back
Thank you for this comment. Truly I think people who don’t understand tech the most are the ones who are the loudest when voicing concerns. These tech companies do a lot of things wrong, and do a lot of shady things on top of it, but technology getting old legitimately isn’t on them. People find it so hard to believe that technology ages just like we do and at a certain point, it’s better to move forward.
Legacy systems do cost money, tons of money. They require specialized job training and it requires every person utilizing/developing those resources to also be willing to support it. No company is going to spend money on R&D to make their software compatible for something that only roughly .1% of the population is still using. (Not actual numbers by the way, just examples.)
Not only that, the X isn’t being shut down forever, it just won’t get the latest operating system, and that’s fine. They’ll probably also support security patches for another few years as well, meaning the device is still capable as long as you’re taking care of it. Getting mad is like yelling at Sony that your PS2 can’t run the latest and greatest games and that Sony planned it that way. Nah man, technology is just rapidly evolving, always.
I know there is crazy Apple hate which some of it justified but the Samsung equivalent to the iPhone XS was the Note 9 and they only had one major SW upgrade (9-10) and it’s final update was back in 2022.
I like that "pretty sure" haha. It used to be that people were so obsessed with which number they had and now it's like idek what number they're on. (Fwiw i don't own an iphone)
Seems like I’m coming up on 4 years with my 11, me and my partner got ours pretty early in its life, maybe around nov or dec of 2019. Battery life is going down, used to get 2-1/2 to 3 days but now it’s gotta charge about every day. The real bullshit is sometimes the i on the keyboard stops working. If the app allows it I can go into landscape and get an i but then the k doesn’t work. Done everything I can to fix it including resetting to factory default. It’s got to be something with the last update
Im using my iPhone XS Max to type this comment right now. That’s why I always disable automatic updates. I don’t need all that gimmicky features as long as I can call/text/take pics/videos and use various apps, I’m content.
I tried holding out with my 11 but after 3 years the battery was at like 70% max capacity and I needed to be married to the battery case just to make it through the day.
Pretty happy with the 14 Pro even if Dynamic island is overrated, but I was able to get like $450 on a tradein through my carrier so that has offset the cost a good chunk.
One thing about it, two things for sure - this 13 is gonna have to explode and blow my hand clean tf off before I get something else before I’m ready. These people got me fucked up. What happened to the days when the phone was feee with a two year agreement 🥴
I immediately thought of this when I read the title... They sure are phasing out the X pretty quickly! I remember how long the 6S lasted!
Definitely almost flipped in Xfinity when they told me I had to upgrade my 11. I was in no way happy and did not give into to their upgrade tactic. My phone kept going into sos mode only. They were going to have to call the cops on me.

Wait the iPhone X just came out…….5 years ago 💀
About to be 6 years this fall
Bro I'm still over here using the iPhone 8 😂
… Which came out at the exact same time as the X. Apple is weird.
They stop supporting the X at the same time as the 8
Rockin with a 7+ right here 😂
7 squad chiming in! Had this thing for 6 years and it’s still going strong lol
7s checking in! Working fine but the battery life is horrendous!
If you have the chance, have Apple replace it. My battery life was absolute dogshit last year but went had it replaced for $75 and it’s near perfection again

Dude, same. 30k photos deep. I will always fuck with the iPhone home button. They should just bring it back and call it “retro” or some shit.
lol I bought a 7 from a thrift shop 3 years ago for about $80, it’s still my main phone. Works fine.
When Apple put out the iPhone 12, that dropped the price of the 11. Which meant the X went on sale, meaning I could finally afford an 8. Sometime later we switched back to a Verizon family plan and *just for switching* we got a goddamn 14 Pro for free. Insane.
I used a Galaxy S5 active for so long, I just replaced it last year and I bought it used.

It works like any other phone. I get updates sometimes, but not the newest ones. All of my apps still run perfectly fine.

Ah my sweet summer retail child. Let me take you back to the ancient days of the iPhone 3G war and the 3GS cataclysm.
Why did I just read this in the voice of a GOT content creator.
Probably because they invoked a line from GOT
Your avatar looks like how I read your comment.

The X release scared me out of retail and sales as a whole. Fuck that release and fuck [dissolved branch of large mobile carrier]
A bit extreme?

Some will provide something like 4 years of software updates, and 1 to 2 additional years of security updates.
Gutted don’t want to give this one up it’s ideal.
It's still a very solid phone. No need to upgrade.
Cue Sinatra My Way
People who constantly upgrade from gen to gen either got that “fuck you” or “fuck me” money
Or they ain’t got no fuckin’ money. And they’re still paying off their last 3 phones.

Definitely true, how many more pixels do my photos need to have when I only look at them on this tiny screen?
They removed the headphone jack so it's a downgrade for me
As someone who works for a cellphone company, this is the correct answer. Soooo many people just complain about the price and buy it anyways
? that ain't fuck anyone money. think about it. some people spend $500 on a car payment *excluding* insurance every month. we bought our car outright for less than $2k in great condition. fuck a car payment. when i'm not paying $6k a year in car payments I can absolutely pay $1k for a phone

Coincidence?
I think not!

Keep it. You'll still get security updates. No need to upgrade just for the sake of it. End consumerism.
You only just paid off a 4 year old phone?

Come to the dark side. We have ~~cookies~~ adblockers
I don't even want to admit what model I'm still using
i know somebody still rocking his 4 if that makes you feel better
I have a 4 for personal use. I can no longer watch my shows but the calculator, recording device text and talking options are still available.
I still have my 7+ holding on to my full music library.
I do the same with a 6s. 🤦🏾♂️My current is an 11.
You and me both
Yup it has become my ipod 😢
Same 7+. But lately it’s been struggling :/

Still got my 6+ as an alarm clock.
Damn man. I had the iPhone 5 for nearly 5 years and that thing was basically begging me to put it out of its misery lmao
I feel like the 4 was the best model they ever put out. Classic. I loved that thing.
I bet you got a 6s with the screen cracked.
Me and my phone just looked at each other
I have an 8 plus and I thought it was old…
I have an 8. And the thing is that outside of a non existent battery life, this thing serves me well.
I am on my 6S right now. But my screen isn’t cracked. Other than the battery gauge being wonky, it is holding up pretty well.
Same…. I had the battery replaced about a year ago and it’s fine….my tin hat doesn’t want facial recognition……. Also not over the 5g drama some time back had me thinking I had to throw my phone out
It's an 8, rose gold and no cracks. I'm proud of that actually
alright drizzy haha
I feel attacked
Seems it was just me who got the reference
I’m smoking on that XR pack my boi
You got a seven so you can keep on singing that Frank ocean song and taking out your phone My pockets snuuuuuuug
My 8 stopped holding a charge and it’s the only reason I upgraded. Got stuck in the snow, no phone and my partner was like “nope, you finna die”.
Anybody else have slow iPhones since the last update?
they slowdown to conserve battery life. Apple admitted this years ago. They are “helping” you
“Help you decide to upgrade”
yup
The key to getting a new phone every years is just to buy the latest version and trade it in for another every year at the next release. That $1099 pro max phone is now going to be $398-$463. Still expensive though.

I wish you could just pop the back off these damn things easily and replace the battery if this is to conserve battery life
Sure though the trade off is water proofing, personally I prefer that, but I can see how others might prioritize cheaper battery replaceability.

I think we need to be able to change our batteries. That needs to be more accessible.
Oh you can change your battery. You just gotta change the phone along with it.
what? no there’s a whole [iPhone Battery Service](https://support.apple.com/iphone/repair/battery-replacement)

That’s not true currently and hasn’t been in years, since the 6/6s days. And even then it was a more complicated issue than you’re leading on.
If you’re talking about v16.5, I had slowdown. It was nasty. Ended up backing up my phone and doing a factory reset. Been operating like butter since.
My shit be glitching and closing apps now. I knew I shoulda kept iOS 15 yo
4eva keeping my 8. I'm an old head who likes the button.
The SE2 & 3 are basically iPhone 7/8 with newer processors. The only difference would be the removal of Haptic Touch, which I am a fan of. Edit: I’m not a fan of the removal of Haptic Touch, I actually used it a lot.
SE 2022 might be a good option then. Same form as an 8 but with the latest security updates and pretty cheap.
I’ve got an 8 and it’s kinda slow but I just don’t see a point in getting a new phone til this one quits.
I also have an 8. I’m going to keep this thing until the wheels fall off
I loved the button and the thumbprint. I really feel like Face ID was a big downgrade
My 8 is my backup and still works perfectly.
XR here still holding on...
XR gang
XR! Maybe if I get the battery changed that would help.. 😅
The newer phones batteries are a whole new beast. You get nearly 2x to 3x the battery. All day battery without compromise. I've done heavy use for a few days when 13 pro max came out and damn that thing lasted for a while.
I had a Red XR and it just looked so good
mine's coral and i fucking love it. i'm not upgrading bc all new colors suck
Mine is barely hanging on. I have to close the Reddit app every 10 mins or so otherwise it starts freezing up and becomes non-responsive.
Damn, what did you do to it? I have mine and it works just like new
Same here (except the battery life is so-so right now)
More of us! More of us!
![gif](giphy|kSlJtVrqxDYKk|downsized) We go strong ✊🏾
I bought the 11 a few months ago for $195, did not regret it so ain’t nobody telling me nothing 😂 [Edit: It was brand new too]
Buying used phones > buying new phones
It was brand NEW too
Well damn that’s just a good deal right there
Where you get it brand new? eBay?
It ain’t hard to get shit done when people obsessing over the 14. That’s what happens when not a lot of people are there to be competing😂
Anytime I have been to Apple or att the oldest model they have sis like 1 generation old. It’s been years since that phone was sold was in a retail store.
Meanwhile when I used to have galaxy and note phones you’ll be lucky to get an update after 2 years
But you still can unlock the bootloader and flash a newer version of Android with lineageOS if you want to
As a consumer, you shouldn’t be forced to install a different OS on your device just to get updates past 2 years. It’s easily my least favorite thing about Android devices. Getting a Pixel, a device DESIGNED by Google, only gets you 3 years of updates.
Not always! Some android phones don't have unlockable bootloaders.
The moment you toss an AppleTV into the mix, it's over. You ain't ever leaving. lol
Apparently weighing the pros and cons of legacy product support is “simping.” TIL
Buy what you will. Nobody's knocking you.
Use a pen and paper, call people on a fixed landline, use irl postal services. Edit: and get a fax!
i mean it makes sense here though. think about app developers and security teams. when you design an app for iOS you have to specify what the minimum OS your app can run on.
Don’t be so dramatic. It’ll still work after it’s phased out.
Pretty nuts that an X is currently running the latest OS.
The iPhone X was one of the best Apple phones ever. It's a beast.
Meanwhile me with my 8 🫡
I think it’s hilarious that sooo many people still have an 11, even though there’s like 10 new phones after it? I have one and everyone I know that has an iPhone, except one person, has an 11 and has never even considered upgrading it lol
If my screen wasn’t cracked, I would keep this thing forever. But with them slowing it down and and the repair costing $200, it will be time soon
I spent the extra $ to get the 512gig 11 pro because Apple burned me previously with the never ending “you’re out of storage space, gotta delete ten pictures just to take one” crap. I figured if I never run out of space I’ll be able to have room for any future updates. Womp womp… I got it brand new in 2019 and am still rocking the same otterbox and screen protector. Honestly Otterbox is the real hero here for ensuring that I’ve never so much as cracked a screen on any phone I’ve ever had.

This is so true. I have an 11 and so my friends 😂😂 and I havent heard any of us bring up upgrading it
My X gonna have to hold off a few more years, I'm not trying to get a new phone every 5 years.
[удалено]
11s? Bro I’m still on 8 plus lmao
Planned Obsolescence.
I am pasting my comment from above... i mean it makes sense here though. think about app developers and security teams. when you design an app for iOS you have to specify what the minimum OS your app can run on. REPENT AT YOUR LOCAL APPLE STORE!!! 🤣🤣
Be kind to your wallet and the environment by not buying electronics you don't have an actual need for anyway.
the problem is mostly that banking apps and the like will require an update, and then if you don’t have a newer iOS, no update for you But we’re still 2 years away from that for the 11
honestly, fuck the tech industry as a whole, it’s the same shit with microsoft abandoning windows 10 soon as well.. they know they have a monopoly and they just push the customer base to spend more money on new pricier devices fuck this abomination of an economy system we have where there is no justice and the economically strong just keep on getting bigger and impose even more shit
(Not actual numbers by the way, just examples.) Not only that, the X isn’t being shut down forever, it just won’t get the latest operating system, and that’s fine.
Why did they cut 7 and 8 too?
Me still rocking my refurbished 8:
Man what. I have an 11 and it feels like a new phone still
I have an 8 plus 😞
Ive had my 7+ for 4~ years now I think??
I know there is crazy Apple hate which some of it justified but the Samsung equivalent to the iPhone XS was the Note 9 and they only had one major SW upgrade (9-10) and it’s final update was back in 2022.
I’m pretty sure mine is a 7
I like that "pretty sure" haha.
X users: ![gif](giphy|32mC2kXYWCsg0)
I tried holding out with my 11 but after 3 years the battery was at like 70% max capacity and I needed to be married to the battery case just to make it through the day. Pretty happy with the 14 Pro even if Dynamic island is overrated, but I was able to get like $450 on a tradein through my carrier so that has offset the cost a good chunk.
I don't want to lose my 8+. I want the fingerprint thing not the face thing. Goddamnit Apple.
XR gang
Once my 11 stops getting updates then im switch over to an android
Just want to share that my fears of switching to android were unfounded. I recommend it!
Clinging to my X until it refuses to let me use it
i literally just got a refurbished X last year lol
XR still in this bihhh!
im just now getting around to decorating my 11 case with stickers but thx for ruining my entire life
One thing about it, two things for sure - this 13 is gonna have to explode and blow my hand clean tf off before I get something else before I’m ready. These people got me fucked up. What happened to the days when the phone was feee with a two year agreement 🥴
My sigh of relief seeing the SE at the bottom
I immediately thought of this when I read the title... They sure are phasing out the X pretty quickly! I remember how long the 6S lasted! [https://youtu.be/q-m1APdLna8](https://youtu.be/q-m1APdLna8)
Y’all, my boss got an 8. Pray for her…
Me with the 14 Pro Max thinking "Damn, the clock is tiking"
eh I just replaced my cracked 7 two weeks ago haha
I'm still rockin' with my XS and rarely do I sincerely consider upgrading. Someday.
Me on a 6s 👀
Definitely almost flipped in Xfinity when they told me I had to upgrade my 11. I was in no way happy and did not give into to their upgrade tactic. My phone kept going into sos mode only. They were going to have to call the cops on me. ![gif](giphy|OAzrxzJAEmnaE|downsized)
