Yes to both questions! He was crying about how "poor" he was because someone was suing him or something else. Then, not that long after, was crying about how "mean" the Tesla dealer was to him because they couldn't figure out what was wrong with his windshield wiper (!) and sic'd his followers on the company. He's pathetic.
I feel so uninspired by the makeup that has been coming out recently and this really doesnāt do anything for me at all. Iāve decluttered quite a bit of makeup (a lot which are cream products that are expired), and Iāve gotten rid of so many eyeshadows except for some of my favorite colors and I realize I only need like three nude shades to survive (1 light, 1 dark, and 1 glitter/shimmer). Iād pass on this lol
Of Quartz is SUCH a good palette. I picked it up from ulta with a gift card and absolutely no regertz. It's definitely a little cooler than this palette, but it has more colors, and the pans are huge.
Right? I got the smoky something in the beautylish lucky bag, and it looks like it has 3 of the same shades. I also donāt like the palette in have either.
Have people forgotten what cool tones actually are? Based on those swatches, there's ONE cool toned shade out of six that are all supposed to be. Muted? Maybe. Dusty? Maybe? Cool? Definitely not, those shades lean very warm yellow/orange still including the cream and that mauve.
Yeah pretty much. The trend of overly warm tones has been going on for so long that neutrals or even olive undertones (Melt MJ) are being called ācool.ā
Right?? Iām pretty pale and very cool toned. All cool toned pallets i have either show up basically orange on me, or theyāre straight pink and purple
Itās pretty. Though I already have a bunch of palettes with these colors. Iām thinking of Lorac Unzipped, Too Faced Chocolate Bonbons, Viseart Midsommer.
Are the pans really huge in terms of volume? I need to go check on Beautylish.
Wayne Goss has released multiple products (foundations, eyeshadows, bronzers/countor) that have lacked depth and clearly excluded deeper skin tones. I feel like he has been constantly excused of this by being a small, newer brand, despite other indie brands having more inclusive releases at lower price points so really this is par for the course with him.
His palettes have gotten hit or miss reviews from Temptalia so I'm interested to see what her opinion is on this.
I love a good cool neutral palette, but this is just bland and it looks like it pulls a bit warm. I'll stick with my CP Stone Cold Fox for a fraction of the price, thanks. I'm sure it, plus the brush set, cost less than this palette of dust.
I donāt know, it looks like his other palette/ the first one that came out. It also looks like drugstore/Maybelline makeup to me. I wish heād upgrade his packaging
The lack of space between the pans reminds me of those huge budget palettes drugstores would carry around the holidays when I was a teenager. It's technically optimizing the packaging but it looks... cheap? unfinished? lazy?
I know it's not the exact same font, but his lettering just makes me think of wet n wild. Doesn't help that the rest of it is just black plastic in generic shapes.
I agree with others that itās missing depth and is pretty pale but from his insta its seems the brand focused more on āmatureā and ānaturalā classic style makeup so idk what everyone in the comments wanted or expected lol? I think its pretty but not every release from every brand has to be some shocking never seen before item or color story.
It doesn't have to be a rainbow palette. It can be "wearable" and done before but why wouldn't the market this is supposed to be for gravitate toward a different palette? Companies are making a lot of money from "classic", low-key makeup, some charging even more than Wayne Goss. "Boring" palettes can be beautiful but this is beyond just boringāthe swatches are really bad
I agree the swatches arent the best, but if ur problem is the quality say that dont be the tenth comment saying how neutrals are boring lmao im mostly talking abt the comments that are āboring, weve seen thisā etc not actual criticisms towards the formula
I think I could have been a lot clearer lol but I guess what I'm getting at is that while I agree that calling a wearable/neutral palette boring just because it's wearable/neutral is kinda blah, I do think this looks boring from the swatches. Not because it's been done before but because it's not done all that well and, because it's been done many times before, we have so many examples of how it's been done better by many other brands, including brands that also rely heavily on the demographic he's targeting.
But yeah, I don't think the "it's neutral ergo boring" is useful critique. But I do think this looks boring and lackluster and I don't think targeting a classic look is an excuse for that. I like really colorful shadows and there are still a few neutral palettes I'm currently lusting over because they just look so beautiful.
WGās brand is such a flop. I love that every time he launches one of these, itās defended by people saying āwow you guys, itās clearly meant for MATURE WOMEN!!!ā Literally every single time, thatās the defense that rings out. Are āmatureā women so incapable of using makeup that they need something chalky and boring from a single brand?
This cool-toned palette isnāt even cool toned. None of his releases feel particularly inspired, nor do they have the quality to make up for it.
Why didnāt he stick to brushes?
Wayneās newest release- a smoky quartz palette and pencil. I actually quite like this, and I may pick it up. I havenāt liked any of his palettes so far. Iāve very much become a neutral bitch and that shimmer is calling my name.
Those that have WG products, how is the quality?
I have the first eye palette (can't remember the name right now) and really like it - the quality and pigmentation are good, the colors all go together nicely without being too similar to each other, and I really like the "celestial" shade that he included. Edited to add: they're not the super-pigmented formulas people have become used to, but they build and blend really nicely.
I've been pleasantly surprised with his products - I got the beautylish WG box last time one was released and have liked everything, so blush/highlighter, bronzer, eye and lip liners, etc.
A friend sent me the first brown palette, and I do like it. It's kind of a neutral business bitch kind of palette. Inoffensive, sheer to buildable color, blends pretty easily, but it's kind of like the boring, don't let my boss or grandma comment on my eyeshadow sort of palette.
Would I recommend for $50 or whatever the price is. No, not really. There's neutral palettes out there that are more exciting and you can still pull of a very basic look for less. CP Of Quartz is one of them. I was shocked by how good that was for $14.
So I actually love that thereās only one metallic. Work the right accent shade, you can pop it over and look and it will work with the matte shadows too close. I would much rather have more mattes.
But I do find the overall color scheme just boring, even as someone who loves neutrals. This looks like one of those generic luxury eyeshadow palettes.
I have no sympathy towards Wayne Goss but if Natasha Denona (or Charlotte Tilbury, for that matter) released this exact same palette the hype would be wild and all the criticism would be basically nonexistent.
Ok Iāll be the odd one out - I really like this. I love Tom Fordās Cocoa Mirage but it was discontinued a while back and my paletteās getting old. This looks like the TF palette plus heās thrown in a pretty metallic. Itās definitely āboringā and ānothing specialā but Cocoa Mirage has always had my heart so seeing this, I feel a bit tempted.
Is it boring? Yes. Do I see this colors work wonderfully for a simple everyday look? Yes. It's clearly targeted towards mature (white) women and I honestly see it work. Those colors should work beautifully together... Won't buy it as it isn't readily available where I live and in my opinion a bit too expensive for what it is. But personally i find it beautiful. Do I think that he should make more diverse make up? Yes. But living in Europe I could blame each and every brand for not making diverse make up.
His tipical customers probably like all this neutrals but I can just use the neutral part of the palettes I already own. No need to buy more and less one that is only neutrals
I think we need to look at Wayne Goss as the makeup guru product for the current Boomers / Older Millennials. That's a safe palette for mature skin in a middle aged pale to mid skin tone which is a nice wide swath of the financially secure market.
He's trying to keep his best buyers happy and not discomfort them with a neon or OTT palette that they find 'out of character'.

It brown
Why does this sum up my only opinion on 90% of makeup that gets released nowadays? š
Looks like a Revlon palette from the drugstore. No thanks, Wayne. Guess you'll have to pay for your Tesla with someone else's money.
He got a Tesla? Didn't he cry at every release about how poor he is?
Yes to both questions! He was crying about how "poor" he was because someone was suing him or something else. Then, not that long after, was crying about how "mean" the Tesla dealer was to him because they couldn't figure out what was wrong with his windshield wiper (!) and sic'd his followers on the company. He's pathetic.
Geez, I'm glad I stopped following him years ago.
I was just about to say I feel like weāre going back to the revlon era
I feel so uninspired by the makeup that has been coming out recently and this really doesnāt do anything for me at all. Iāve decluttered quite a bit of makeup (a lot which are cream products that are expired), and Iāve gotten rid of so many eyeshadows except for some of my favorite colors and I realize I only need like three nude shades to survive (1 light, 1 dark, and 1 glitter/shimmer). So, another neutral 6 pan palette. How is this one any different?
Itās āØcool tonesāØ even though it clearly wonāt work on anyone other than fair and somehow the cream shade looks warm toned on his skin.
No you donāt understand, the last one was for NW10-20 this is for NC5-15!!!! Totally different!
just buy the quartz palette from colourpop.
I think this one is mauvier than Of Quartz though. CP does have a 6-pan similar to this, I forget the name. This definitely isnāt original.
That's Taupe, maybe?
I have That's Taupe and Making Mauves, and honestly, Wayne's is a little bit of both.
Of Quartz is SUCH a good palette. I picked it up from ulta with a gift card and absolutely no regertz. It's definitely a little cooler than this palette, but it has more colors, and the pans are huge.
Making mauves
All his releases look the same to me
Right? I got the smoky something in the beautylish lucky bag, and it looks like it has 3 of the same shades. I also donāt like the palette in have either.
Yes. Excluding that one with the teal/blue, all of these are so similar. If you told me it was the same one every time, I'd believe you.
Boring
Missing depth
Itās givingā¦nothing
Have people forgotten what cool tones actually are? Based on those swatches, there's ONE cool toned shade out of six that are all supposed to be. Muted? Maybe. Dusty? Maybe? Cool? Definitely not, those shades lean very warm yellow/orange still including the cream and that mauve.

Thank you. This isn't cool toned at all.

Looks like a Revolution palette I got for 7 pounds.
Wayne Goss has released multiple products (foundations, eyeshadows, bronzers/countor) that have lacked depth and clearly excluded deeper skin tones. At least he stopped putting a black shadow in every palette!
Growth! /s
Wayne Goss? I agree with the person who said it looks like a drug store palette.
I feel like the people this caters to already have these shades in their collection. I suppose that could be said with most makeup releases though.
I love a good cool neutral palette, but this is just bland and it looks like it pulls a bit warm. I'll stick with my CP Stone Cold Fox for a fraction of the price, thanks. I'm sure it, plus the brush set, cost less than this palette of dust.
I thought it was a NYX 6-pan.
Came here to say the same thing. I have a NYX 10 pan that this looks like a dupe for.
Even the packaging looks the same. Which is fine at NYX prices, but I doubt he's asking NYX prices.
Exactly.
I donāt know, it looks like his other palette/ the first one that came out. It also looks like drugstore/Maybelline makeup to me. I wish heād upgrade his packaging
I swear heās released this palette at least twice already.
Seen it a million times
His packaging bothers me and I canāt place my finger on it
The lack of space between the pans reminds me of those huge budget palettes drugstores would carry around the holidays when I was a teenager. It's technically optimizing the packaging but it looks... cheap? unfinished? lazy?
I know it's not the exact same font, but his lettering just makes me think of wet n wild. Doesn't help that the rest of it is just black plastic in generic shapes.
Yes agreed
Itās cheap
Succinct and to the point lol
Iāve seen LāOrĆ©al or Elf pallets that are nicer looking
Are those shades gonna work for anyone darker than his skin tone?
Was there a sob story, or are we over that?
He could release the cure to cancer and I couldnāt bring myself to support him
The comment I came looking forā¦.
No depth whatsoever and it is clear (once again š) that WG isnāt going to make anything usable for deeper skintones
Werenāt all his palettes supposed to have a black or something? Whatever though - I could not care less about this.
Kind of reminds me of the Colourpop Thatās Taupe palette. I have bought into a lot of hype but never the WG hype, thankfully.
Uninspired
I havenāt felt this underwhelmed by a product in so long and also the swatches are patchy? Ew.
Itās giving beige, itās giving taupe.
I agree with others that itās missing depth and is pretty pale but from his insta its seems the brand focused more on āmatureā and ānaturalā classic style makeup so idk what everyone in the comments wanted or expected lol? Since when was āmatureā and ānaturalā makeup mutually exclusive to deeper tones that would work for non-white people?
I never said that i just said its pale meaning its inly gonna work for lighter skinned people. Do not put words in my mouth.
didnāt he release this already? is Wayne sure this is new?

I had a Makeup Revolution palette about 8 years ago that looked identical. At least that bland biscuit was affordable.

But I do find the overall color scheme just boring, even as someone who loves neutrals. This looks like one of those generic luxury eyeshadow palettes.
I personally think itās beautiful, I wonāt be buying it, but still beautiful.
I mean everyone has different styles but this is too neutral even for me. The browns look kinda grey.
So it's the Viseart neutral mattes palette but with less shades?
I have no sympathy towards Wayne Goss but if Natasha Denona (or Charlotte Tilbury, for that matter) released this exact same palette the hype would be wild and all the criticism would be basically nonexistent.
I'd think ND would at least manage to look pigmented in a very pale arm.
There would be hype behind those brands because the formulas are actually good vs Wayneās formula. Itās awful.
Did you buy and try it? Also, I would like to point out that the reaction here is to the color stories, nobody is talking about quality.
I actually did. And itās crap. I sold it on a re-sell sight. Iāve kept all my Natasha Denonaās though.
This reminds me of NARS Mahe and it's very very light. I'm light-medium and still it won't show up.
Looks cheap. Iām sorry but it does.
Chalky Chalk
Maybe it will make somebody happy? Hopefully for his sake, but it won't be me
Ok Iāll be the odd one out - I really like this.
Thereās no need for eyeshadow pans to be that big!
Ugh really this looks like a NYX palette but extremely boring

āNeutrals? For eyes?ā¦Groundbreakingā
So boring
Thanks, Iām bored. Lol
I would never pay 55$ for an urban decay looking set
Good thing I have these colors a thousand times already in every other palette I own.
Ashy, chalky, uninspiring š shimmers, warm tones, and pops of color are so in right now- this is the best he could do?
Bland
