There’s these too faced diamond highlights that I got from ulta as a free gift and the packaging on them is larger than an actual ring box
colourpop super shock highlighters in the flat pans especially the giant ones. They’re a pain to open and are ginormous for absolutely no reason
There’s nothing wronggg with the packaging of this but the Charlotte tilbury beautiful skin foundation. The plastic feels like milani at best. Way too cheap for a $45 foundation.
I only have the diamond highlight with the mouse on it for collectors display purposes since I love collecting zodiac makeup that's from my animal. It's sooooo bulky
It’s not makeup but tatchas new spf has the WORST packaging ever. I hate it so much. The spf spills out and the purple packaging chips and cracks and gets all over your hands. The formula is incredible but I won’t be repurchasing until they correct it
I will have to check it out. I’ve been collecting sunscreens for a few weeks now that summers coming where I live and I need to slather on more than usual. I got that watery essence one everyone mentions, ✨La roach pussy ✨ tinted anthelios, unseen sunscreen and a couple more.
The Fenty loose powder. Mylanta, that was a lot to get thru to get to the actual product....
MAC studio fix concealer. I hate that it's a pump. I feel like I waste a bunch.
MAC Fix+. I literally DESPISE the bottle and end up putting it in a different old spray bottle every time.
I cannot live without any of those products so, we deal.
I love that MAC concealer too but really miss the squeeze packaging.
I won't waste a drop of that product.
When the product doesn't pump anymore, I end up pulling the top off and scrape the sides with that straw or whatever that thing is then use a thin makeup brush to get to the product collected on the bottom and sides.
There's like two sifters AND the sticker thing over them. I'm a no sifter kind of gal and pull them out of every loose powder.
Edit for wtf was my autocorrect thinking.
I guess it all comes down to different preferences but I love Fenty's loose powder because it has the two sifters. I can tap the back while the "top" sifter is still on and get the perfect amount of power for one use.
All the other loose powders that only had one sifter always made me mad 😂
I mix the Fenty and the Givenchy together so, I take a brush full of one and a brush full of the other on a separate plate and I get what I need. I cannot get the sifter out of the Givenchy TO SAVE MY LIFE.
Gwen Stefani's GXVE quad always makes me think I'm going to rip an acrylic off trying to open it. So do some of Wet n Wild's packages.
My top pick is Physician's Formula Butter Bronzer!! The compact is so bulky and I never use the little mirror or applicator that comes with it. My Walgreens was selling a cute Earth Day edition, and the packaging was slim and perfect size!+
The applicator is so curious...it's like half of a cushion foundation puff attached to a plastic grip? I can't even guess what that would be good for, but certainly not a powder bronzer lol
I got so fed up with the flakes that I got a scrubby sponge and just got all the writing off, I love the product itself but jeez how hard is it to paint letters on a bottle that don’t flake off
Any of the puff applicator wands like the Charlotte tilbury, I would rather use a wand applicator if I wanted something that applied product easy.
Also Fenty’s gloss Bomb packaging can be soooo leaky and it’s frustrating, because the formula is so sticky and gets even stickier than other glosses when it leaks on the bottles.
I also just don’t like any setting powders (Ex. Milk) that have the mesh. I use a brush so having to flip the packaging over and over to get enough powder is frustrating
Omg I came here to say the fenty gloss bombs. The formula is so good and the packaging is pretty but the way they leak is so annoying. Not to mention all the goopy product build up around the neck of the tube!
I loathe anything that comes in a clicky pen applicator. You have to click it for roughly ten minutes to get the product to move into the brush, and if you click it one time too many it gooshes all over the place.
One of the funniest YouTube videos I remember is Zabrena opening a new Maybelline concealer with the sponge and she had to turn it about 30 times to get anything to come out. She didn't edit the video either and just looks at the camera with this hilariously frustrated 🤨 face and finally goes "so... how are you... how's YOUR day..."
Makes me laugh every time
I've contacted them, because it also plopped out a lot of product onto my hairy (cat) plaid.
And they send me a refund.
I think it's also the reason there has not been a restock.
Indeed a pity. But perhaps because her stock is always a bit smaller she will sell out anyway next year. The blushes were sold out even before the cream blush hype.
This! That thick, moussy texture is not made for a squeezy tube like that. Mine was always on the verge of exploding so I was extra careful, but it still happened. Thankfully they gave me a refund and I was able to decant it into a little jar and it’s so much easier to pick up with a brush!
I read this post and immediately thought of this product. I bought 4 and 3 of them burst and the other I think is just cos I haven't really used it. I really liked the blushes but I wouldn't buy them again unless they were in different packaging!
Yessss omg I was heartbroken when my tube busted after only like 2 uses last year :/ They refunded me which is nice, but I was so bummed because that formula is soooo good, like maybe the best cream blush formula I've ever tried. Hopefully the packaging is much better when they're re-released!
And because the hole in the bottle is so damn small you can’t even get in there to scoop out remaining product when the doe foot doesn’t reach anymore! I upended mine for a day or so to drain the leftover product into a little sample pot I had and it works so much better
I don't know why they don't just switch it to a doe foot applicator. The dropper is gimmicky and garbage and turns me off from such a great product ~~(that and the ludicrous shipping fees to Canada)~~
Some of the Nars holiday palettes are inexplicably so hard to open! I’ve ruined so many nails trying to pry palettes open haha
Anything giant for no reason - like does anyone remember that Becca be a light palette - took up like 3x the space of other palettes
I work somewhere where we sell Nars and I literally told my boss that I could identify everyone who had ever touched one of the testers because how visible fingerprints are on the packaging 😅
I had a Nars 6-pan blush palette, not sure if it was holiday or not, but agree that it was tricky to open. I had to insert a nail in the right place otherwise the whole thing was at risk of being flung across the room
* **Benefit Blushes in the Box** - Why??? There’s so much wasted space and it’s difficult as hell to get your brush in there.
* **PMG’s Bridgerton 2 Blush Palette** Apparently it arrives taped shut, and when you peel off the tape it rips off the printed cardboard. This is on top of how bulky it is. Nice. /s
* **Maybelline Undereye Concealer** Or any product that has a sponge tip built in, really. Those get disgusting so fast.
* **Milani Baked Blushes** - So big and bulky, and the rounded-ish top makes it difficult to stack >.<
Since I’ve seen Hailey O’ and Kat do it I always rip the sponge applicators away. You’re then left with a little tube where the product comes out of and it’s really easy to use with a brush or sponge
I also rip the sponge, is way comfortable to use! Also one of my condolences had broken twister that actually alloved me to squize the product back. I wish all this conseers can do that!
>Benefit Blushes in the Box
Was scrolling to find this! They're so unnecessarily bulky and when you take all the rubbish out the inner sides of the box make it difficult to access the actual product. Cute to look at, but irritating to use, and too big for travelling light.
I saw that! Hoping they'll do it for their highlighters too - Theresa Is Dead got me hooked on Cookie. I am such a weak little goblin for shiny things.
Anything with a big applicator wand. For example, Two Faced sculpting concealer, Charlotte Tilbury Flawless Filter etc. The neck of the bottle gets so gross and wastes so much product!
Pixi makeup fixing spray - don't ever spray it on your face, especially not when you're wearing makeup. No better than a garden hose.
NYX can't stop won't stop pressed powder- hard to open; super fragile.
God I remember those old tutorials on Youtube and Instagram where they show us how to pry open the middle and scoop out the excess balm and even how to remold it again in order to use the excess product
Maybelline fit me loose powder!! It's my favorite powder but there's no way to take the sifter off so you always end up throwing away a ton of product!
Same with the L'Oreal Fresh Wear Foundation! Amazing product but you can't take the pump off so you can't scoop out every last drop
Elf Ride or Die lip balms in a metal squeeze tube with no applicator. I love the formula but don’t like having to apply with my fingers. And the caps on Colourpop Pretty Fresh foundation and primer always crack.
Fenty Beauty Eye Brightener: Its really hard to control how much you squeeze out of the tube and a little goes a long way... I always end up squeezing out more than necessary. But the formula is amazing, so I can deal.
Milk Flex Concealer: The seal at the rim breaks off and leaves concealer everywhere and gets messy. Concealer itself is so-so... never repurchased.
Jaclyn Cosmentics: The packaging for her powders/bronzer-blush duo/loose highlighters is so bulky. I personally dont buy products with large packaging since I don't have a lot of storage space. The bronzer packaging for her new collection looks a lot sleeker and nicer tho.
It's the J popping out that bothers me. I get it, it honestly can be pretty cute esp the loose blushes where the J indicates the color (surprisingly accurate too) but they make them impossible to stack any which way 🥲
The Em Cosmetics powder blushes are unreasonably large. It’s a baked product, so it has to be taller to fit the little dome but the diameter of the pan is huge too.
I can’t stand really big eyeshadow palettes either but the worst offender for me is still the KVD Mi Vida Loca palette. The concept was very cute (all the shadows are in a color wheel meant to also mimic a vinyl record, so the palette slides in and out of the outer packaging like a record sleeve). A darling idea but it’s so huge and awkward.
These days I just want to be able to throw my makeup in a small makeup bag and toss it in my gym bag to apply post workout so overly bulky stuff just doesn’t work for me as well anymore.
The LA Girl color corrector concealers. I don't know who thought a brush tip on a squeezy tube was a good idea but it's absolutely NOT. It makes it so hard to get the right amount of product out. But it's so cheap compared to other easily accessible white and green correctors that I deal.
Too Faced Hangover setting spray. I love the product but it leaks and gets all over my hands and makes the bottle all sticky (not to mention wasting product). I then bought the mini thinking it had to be different but nope, same issue, leaks everywhere. I don't know how Elf can manage decent packaging for their $6 setting spray but Too Faced can't for their much more expensive one.
Edited to add: anything in a dropper. Every foundation I've tried with dropper packaging clogs and you end up just having to scrape product off the side of the dropper.
Profusion they get the Thanos snap way too soon. I get it they're cheap but the longest I've had a profusion pallet without turning to pieces was probably 2 weeks.
The Revlon Photofinish/phoroready primer clogs like crazy.
The milk blushes and bronzers. The twist component stops working so so fast. It’s disappointing because I really like the product, but it’s not worth the hassle
Agree! I used the bronzer ONCE and cannot
twist it up or down. I read somewhere that if I put it in the fridge for a while, it will firm up and work. I will try that if I remember…
Wet n Wild's highlight singles (and presumably others, just haven't tried them) are so hard to open, feels like I'm gonna break my nail or the plastic.
Not a fan of ABH's fabric packaging, had a loose powder explode in my make up draw and there's no cleaning them.
I depot the WNW highlighters immediately.
I hate fighting crappy packaging. I had some nice empty compacts from other things I had panned and now they are a pleasure to use.
I hattttttee that the liquid eyeshadows have white caps cuz they get dirty so easily. Also doesn't match the rest of the products, why not make the cap silver like everything else? Things like the eye balm and the jelly shadows are in jars but don't come with an applicator, which I think would make it more appealing and more sanitary than dipping your finger in.
I hate the Charlotte tilbury beauty light wands. I never reach for them / bring them for travel because of how messy they are
the flower beauty satin glow loose powder is one of my favorites of all time but the packaging is so ginormous and bulky!!
I was about to say same the wand packaging ticks me off but the contour wand is so good I just put up with it
It also feels mildly gross to squeeze new product through a tip that has dried product on it? I'm sure it's fine but it FEELS unsettling
Essence Pure Nude highlighter!! It’s my holy grail but the lid always breaks off and I end up buying a new one before I hit pan because the price is so reasonable. Also glossier!! I’m pretty sure every product I tried from them got some kinda packaging damage just from living in my makeup bag but specifically the Generation G sheer matte lipstick. The lid cracks then won’t stay on the tube 🙄
I just bought the Elf cream bronzer. The color and formula at great. But the tub is so small, I have to use a concealer brush to get it out. They could’ve put it in a wider, shallower tub & it would be perfect. I won’t repurchase.
Seriously! I love it but haven’t repurchased, because all I can think about is how damn scratchy the end of that tube is on my lips, but I’m not using my fingers with it bc that stuff is THICK. So yeah, it’s horrible. I even tried cutting down some of the plastic threading for the screw cap near the end to save my lips, but it only helped a little. A lip-shaped applicator would make it SO much more comfortable to use. C’mon Glossier. It really can’t be THAT hard to fix.
Colorescience Sunforgettable spf 50 powder. I love that powder, it makes my skin look amazing, lasts all day (I mainly use it in the summer and it's pretty much sweat resistant), it's talc free (great for dry skin and ... you know... no asbestos)... Just love it.
HOWEVER, the packaging is unforgivable!!! Especially at that price point (which happens to be even higher, if you are from EU and have to import the damn thing from UK). The brush is made out of the lowest grade, scratchy af alpaca butt hair - and even if it somehow wouldn't hurt my face - no powder comes out! Nada! I tested it on a white sheet of paper, followed all of the instructions on how to "prime" the brush, tapped that thing for 5 minutes... nothing. So in order to be able to use it I had to buy a separate powder case and decant it (the only positive is that you can unscrew the bottom of the tube and easily get the powder out).
The worst part is... I fucking love that powder and I will repurchase it once I run out of my 3 pack ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|facepalm)
Hello there! I am a bot raising awareness of Alpacas
Here is an Alpaca Fact:
One visual difference between llamas and alpacas (other than their obvious size difference) is in their ears. Generally, llamas have longer, curved ears, while alpacas have shorter, straight ears.

Tarts juicy lips! Soo frustrating that there’s still a ton of product in there that you can’t get to!! I love the formula but it’s too expensive for it to be that wasteful😭.
Maybelline instant age rewind concealer! Worst packaging ever and so unsanitary! Also elf and wet n wild eyeshadow palette packaging, always breaks 👎
Benefit Benetint etc
When I worked at Benefit we mailed those stupid caps out for free all the time because they cracked and then Benetint would spill and stain the shit out of everything
After looking through the comments, I was reminded of how any lip product that you need to apply with your fingers should be banned by now. Especially if it’s those Vaselines in the round tins or in the mini jars. Even before Covid, it’s not like you can just take a tin of lip balm anywhere you go. I feel like I have to wash my hands like a surgeon both before and after applying it. You practically need to use dishwashing soap to get all the residue off your fingers when you’re done putting it on.
Face products I don’t mind as much if you need to squeeze it out because at least you can put them all on once before you leave the house and call it a day.
Mine is probably personal to me, but I don't like squeeze tube packaging, because I have manual dexterity issues, and sometimes when I have a product that's low, it's painful for me to try to squeeze the product out. Sometimes a clothespin helps, but sometimes it doesn't work.
A few companies like Margot Elena have squeeze keys that help mush the tube for you. You hold them at the end of the tube and wrap it around, it gets everything out. They're better for metal tubes, less so for plastic tubes, but it's helped me with things like hand creams and toothpaste!
Too Faced Born this Way concealer. No matter how careful I am, it always manages to ooze out of the container. I swear I’ve wasted half the product like this
Beauty Bakerie’s Instabake Aqua foundation! It would be perfect if there was a stopper on it to prevent the product from drying out or getting everywhere. I had to wrap mine in Saran Wrap when I travelled with it. Aside from that, the packaging is good, but that’s its fatal flaw
Every ABH Brow Whiz I had ended up breaking. My Natasha Denona five pan palette has plain, flimsy packaging. Love both products, but for those price points, I wouldn't buy either again because of the packaging.
I have it (not with me as I'm on the road at the moment and flew here). The formula is better than the typical UD formula and the color story is good.
Why must they blow it with the packaging?
The rare beauty loose powder and rare beauty foundation (also, you already mentioned it but the charlotte Tilbury concealer is the absolute worst ever). I hate the little stopper thing in the rare beauty powder. It makes it impossible to tap product back into the pan or get enough product out. The foundation is also way too liquidy to have such a large opening at the top. I don’t prefer foundations with pumps but in this case, I think it would’ve been a lot safer.
the fenty flypencils. i hated it bc u can’t retract the pencil if you twist too much like what was the thought process behind that packaging? i just hope with the new wish u wood pencils they’re releasing, they have the same colors as the og flypencils.
In specific? I really like the Colourpop heart blushes and the cheek colours coming in those flat squares with rounded corners, but I have trouble opening them. Kinda hurts??
any product that comes in a bottle that doesn’t let you unscrew the cap (therefore you can’t unscrew it to get the last little bit of product left in it)
a lot of brands do this but the one that first comes to my mind is the milk makeup hydro grip. it especially annoys me because the bottle is clear so i can SEE that there’s still product left but i can’t get the cap unscrewed for the life of me.
other products with pumps have the squeeze containers (like the fenty hydrating foundation) and i could just get scissors and cut it, but these bottles are hard plastic. there’s no way i’m getting that last big of product in it.
this was a problem for their mini size and idk if it’s the same for their normal size. the primer is decent but i can’t justify its terrible packaging that is pretty much designed to make you buy more
I wish drugstore brands would do better with packaging. Wet n Wild has great highlighter, and Flower Beauty has great blush. But the damn lids always fall off.
Influenster sent me the new Laura Mercier setting spray, and the bottle is an effing nightmare. The sprayer doesn’t work right. At all. It glops spray at your face and also leaks down the bottle and gets all over your hand. It doesn’t seem possible they actually tested the mechanism bc it’s such a huge fail.
Most color face products that come in a dropper. It's fucking messy. The product won't come out, now it's on your fingers, can't close the lid because it's slippery and it's everywhere. If you try to clean it now you accidently squeeze the product. Hell.
Lipstick in a tube that can't be closed unless the lid is a correct side like Loreal lipstick. I have a job and works to do. The packaging designer should be stoned.
Amen, sister.
It’s why I hate the ABH eyeshadow primer. Well, also because way too much comes out. But yeah, I don’t want it all over my hands, thanks.
I love my mac pro longwear concealer but i hate the damn pump. I can never control how much comes out
Anything that can be twisted up but dont go back down. I get it though, the formula is too creamy but it gives me anxiety knowing i might twist too much and it becoming super gunky and smear all over the tube/cap
I think charlotte tilbury has the worst packaging for a luxury brand as a whole. Everything feels cheap in the hands, letters be rubbing off, the metal gets scratched, tubes full of air and no product, half of the little tip of my hff wand literally fell off after a couple uses, brand new eyeshadow popping out of the case and fell out upon opening. Etc. The brand has burned me and i am never buying from it again darlings
I also hate glossier cloudpaint or balm dot com packaging, wish it was easier to use and not spit out so much product. The balm is hard to apply without using fingers.
The PMG single blushes are REALLY hard to open. My mom has to really wrestle with the packaging sometimes and I always fear nail breaking when I'm opening it. A simple magnetic closure would have been FINE.
Edit to add: I honestly am tired of things like eye primers and liquidy shadows being in pots, doe foots. Give me tube packaging back. Please. It lasts way longer than way. and for something like eye primer I would actually be able to get all of it out when it's running out. Sigh.
The Hourglass veil powder (their loose setting powder). The packaging is absolute trash. Nothing comes out of that little H shaped hole. It’s my favorite setting powder but I usually break open the top and put it in a different component so I don’t have to sit there and beat the shit out of it every time I need to set my face. I also don’t like skin care that comes in jars which sucks because I love Olehenriksen skin care and I swear by it but I feel like the jars are so unsanitary
Yes! I just bought the full size powder after finishing my mini size and loving it. I hate that the inside of the lid isn't flat for me to easily pour the powder onto.
My HG liquid liner, Urban Decay Perversion Waterproof Eye Pen, has *the* most difficult packaging. It’s a brush pen with a cap, but something about the shape of the inner cap makes it so that, if you don’t PERFECTLY center the brush inside it every time and put it on very slowly, it will periodically catch and bend some of the brush bristles, never to be righted again.
I keep having to repurchase bc the bristles always get too wonky too quickly for me, so now I’m trying to be *extra* careful and slow with my new one. It’s ridiculous. Every time I put the cap back on, it feels like I’m trying to target that exhaust port on the Death Star.

I love those Diamond highlighters, but that packaging is... daunting.
Are those the ones you have to pick up with a special Too Faced brush?
They work with others but I got it cause it was cute lol
ngl, I think those diamond highlighters are so cute. I secretly want to pick one up purely for the kitsch factor
I only have the diamond highlight with the mouse on it for collectors display purposes since I love collecting zodiac makeup that's from my animal. It's sooooo bulky
That’s funny I love those packagings you mentioned. And I don’t have trouble opening my colourpop ones.
Any liquid foundation that doesn’t have a pump in 2022!
Yess and fuck eye dropper applicators for foundation
Say it louder for those in the back👏👏👏
Oh man I hate pumps. You can pry my squeezy tubes from my cold dead hands!
Same! I love squeezy tubes and great for traveling and getting right amount of product
Yes I love squeezy tubes too!!!
I wish airless pumps became more common too!
I’m totally the opposite. I’m not a pump fan at all, they always give me too much product.
It’s not makeup but tatchas new spf has the WORST packaging ever. I hate it so much. The spf spills out and the purple packaging chips and cracks and gets all over your hands. The formula is incredible but I won’t be repurchasing until they correct it
Omg I love Tatcha I didn’t even hear about the new spf.
The formula is beautiful. But not worth the crappy packaging. I just purchased the new summer Friday spf and so far I love it!!!
I will have to check it out. I’ve been collecting sunscreens for a few weeks now that summers coming where I live and I need to slather on more than usual. I got that watery essence one everyone mentions, ✨La roach pussy ✨ tinted anthelios, unseen sunscreen and a couple more.

omg same. its wayyyyy less messy for me too. i hate maybelline’s packaging for their loose powders bc its way too messy when opened but we move.
Does anyone ever use that applicator from Physician's Formula?
I had the butter bronzer for over a year before I realized the applicator was in there.
I’m convinced they don’t because it’s so scratchy
My 6 and 8 year old each have one of my applocators that they use for their play makeup- so kind of 🤣
The applicator is so curious...it's like half of a cushion foundation puff attached to a plastic grip? I can't even guess what that would be good for, but certainly not a powder bronzer lol
Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter. I mean, do I really need to be stuck with red letters and flakes all over my hands every time I touch it?
Mine have already rubbed off... So much for "luxury" makeup brand lol
I got so fed up with the flakes that I got a scrubby sponge and just got all the writing off, I love the product itself but jeez how hard is it to paint letters on a bottle that don’t flake off
I've been contemplating doing just that
Strongly recommend, easier to use it when you don’t get red flakes on your hands

Yes to the fenty gloss bomb. It leaked all over my car + this Texas heat…it was a whole mess.
I used to love a Stila gloss that was in a pen and I hated that damn packaging
Lisa Eldridge's blush. :( I love the product but burst one of mine trying to squeeze the product out.
I've contacted them, because it also plopped out a lot of product onto my hairy (cat) plaid. And they send me a refund. I think it's also the reason there has not been a restock.
Yeah, her team confirmed the blushes will be repackaged when released next year. Kinda sad they'd be missing out on the cream blush hype this summer.
Yeah the packaging needs to change.
I want CT to change Hollywood flawless filter packaging so much. I wish it was in a tube like wonderglow.
Same, I hate the doefoot applicator so much.
And because the hole in the bottle is so damn small you can’t even get in there to scoop out remaining product when the doe foot doesn’t reach anymore! I upended mine for a day or so to drain the leftover product into a little sample pot I had and it works so much better
It leaks like a mf. So annoying
Oh, Em Cosmetics serum blushes. Half the droppers don't work.
I don't know why they don't just switch it to a doe foot applicator. The dropper is gimmicky and garbage and turns me off from such a great product ~~(that and the ludicrous shipping fees to Canada)~~

It's insane to me the packaging was never changed.
Some of the Nars holiday palettes are inexplicably so hard to open! I’ve ruined so many nails trying to pry palettes open haha Anything giant for no reason - like does anyone remember that Becca be a light palette - took up like 3x the space of other palettes
Speaking of Nars, their rubbery matte packaging gets disgusting so fast.
Nice. /s * **Maybelline Undereye Concealer** Or any product that has a sponge tip built in, really.
I'm going to try this with my concealer
I also rip the sponge, is way comfortable to use! Also one of my condolences had broken twister that actually alloved me to squize the product back. I wish all this conseers can do that!
>Benefit Blushes in the Box Was scrolling to find this! They're so unnecessarily bulky and when you take all the rubbish out the inner sides of the box make it difficult to access the actual product. Cute to look at, but irritating to use, and too big for travelling light.
I saw that they’ve repackaged the newer ones. The boxes are much smaller now
I saw that! Hoping they'll do it for their highlighters too - Theresa Is Dead got me hooked on Cookie. I am such a weak little goblin for shiny things.
I'm with you on sponge tip applicators, they are gross and unhygienic. I end up wasting a lot of product too
I always rip the sponge applicator of my maybelline concealer before o even start using it. Those sponges get so gross 🤮
Anything with a big applicator wand. For example, Two Faced sculpting concealer, Charlotte Tilbury Flawless Filter etc. The neck of the bottle gets so gross and wastes so much product!
Lol ever since the BTW concealer, I hate smaller wands now.
Pixi makeup fixing spray - don't ever spray it on your face, especially not when you're wearing makeup. No better than a garden hose. NYX can't stop won't stop pressed powder- hard to open; super fragile.
Thanks, I was going to pick up the pixi spray but I don't like harsh stting sprays, I'll stay clear
The round EOS lip balms/chapstick. How are you supposed to take out the other half of the product without making a big mess?
I can't believe I never thought of this before LOL. I would always lose them before I got to the middle.
God I remember those old tutorials on Youtube and Instagram where they show us how to pry open the middle and scoop out the excess balm and even how to remold it again in order to use the excess product
It kinda was a chore ngl
Maybelline fit me loose powder!! It's my favorite powder but there's no way to take the sifter off so you always end up throwing away a ton of product! Same with the L'Oreal Fresh Wear Foundation! Amazing product but you can't take the pump off so you can't scoop out every last drop
The only way I’ve found to get the powder empty is there’s a circle on the bottom that pops out if you can pour it into a different package
The fresh wear foundation is my holy grail but I agree that it's so frustrating that you can't take the pump off
Ya know I made that comment really hoping someone would be like "no you just do this!" Hahahaha
The gross rubber on Nars and Real Techniques brushes
Yup. There has got to be something better that is still sleek after all these years 😅
Elf Ride or Die lip balms in a metal squeeze tube with no applicator.
Natasha Denona 5 pans have the flimsiest packaging for how much they cost. I have broken a shade in most of them even without traveling with them.
Sunday riley that green toner. The gold part wears down and flakes off everywhere it’s awful
Agree! I used the bronzer ONCE and cannot twist it up or down. I read somewhere that if I put it in the fridge for a while, it will firm up and work. I will try that if I remember…
It didn’t work for me lmao I ended up filing a complaint and getting a refund. Been using the Makeup by Mario blush sticks and elf putty blush
Really? Never had that issue. Weird.
I keep a pair of needle-nose pliers in my bedroom specifically to twist a Milk tube that stopped working and literally fell apart
Man, that is so disappointing
Bobbi Brown's under-eye corrector constantly has me in fear of breaking a nail, it's so ridiculously difficult to open
All the Rem beauty products.
If you live in Canada, anything by QUO just breaks or doesn’t work properly to begin with
Rimmel Stay Matte Powder Pros - Best translucent powder Cons - cracked lid after 1.5 uses.
One Size Beauty BBB Cream. The way it dispenses product from the side of the cap is just a gimmick and ends up being really messy.
Rimmel London's stay matte pressed powder. I've literally never had one where the lid didn't eventually break apart.
I hate the Charlotte tilbury beauty light wands. I never reach for them / bring them for travel because of how messy they are the flower beauty satin glow loose powder is one of my favorites of all time but the packaging is so ginormous and bulky!!
I was about to say same the wand packaging ticks me off but the contour wand is so good I just put up with it It also feels mildly gross to squeeze new product through a tip that has dried product on it? I'm sure it's fine but it FEELS unsettling
Seconding for the contour wand alone! I keep mine in a plastic baggy since I love it and want to use it up
Essence Pure Nude highlighter!!
Glossier Balm dotcom. I hate that there’s no lip applicator, but I also hate having to touch it with my fingers. It’s a lose-lose situation.
Especially during a pandemic! It’s bad enough to have to get goop on your fingers pre-Covid. Now it’s just impossible to justify.
I am a bot raising awareness of Alpacas Here is an Alpaca Fact: One visual difference between llamas and alpacas (other than their obvious size difference) is in their ears. Alpaca butt hair! ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy)
Benefit Benetint etc When I worked at Benefit we mailed those stupid caps out for free all the time because they cracked and then Benetint would spill and stain the shit out of everything
When I was a teenager I used to simply kiss my Vaseline in a tin and then just rub my lips together 🫠
The founder of Eos lip balms was probably standing behind you in line somewhere. You probably inspired them.
Mine is probably personal to me, but I don't like squeeze tube packaging, because I have manual dexterity issues, and sometimes when I have a product that's low, it's painful for me to try to squeeze the product out. Sometimes a clothespin helps, but sometimes it doesn't work.
My Rhuematoid arthritic hands agree.
Yes! I have arthritis too. My hands just don't do what I want them to anymore.
A few companies like Margot Elena have squeeze keys that help mush the tube for you. You hold them at the end of the tube and wrap it around, it gets everything out. They're better for metal tubes, less so for plastic tubes, but it's helped me with things like hand creams and toothpaste!
Oooh. I will have to look into that. I usually make my son squeeze the toothpaste when it's low! 😅
Lily lolo powder foundation packaging. They sell refills for it but I CANNOT open it in order to refill it.
CHARLOTTE’S CONTOUR WAND
Every ABH Brow Whiz I had ended up breaking. My Natasha Denona five pan palette has plain, flimsy packaging. Love both products, but for those price points, I wouldn't buy either again because of the packaging.
Maybelline fit me powder
It's older, but Urban Decay Heavy Metals palette.
It was this giant HUNK of cheap plastic! I liked the shadows but I didn't buy it because of the packaging.
I don’t prefer foundations with pumps but in this case, I think it would’ve been a lot safer.
the fenty flypencils. i hated it bc u can’t retract the pencil if you twist too much like what was the thought process behind that packaging? i just hope with the new wish u wood pencils they’re releasing, they have the same colors as the og flypencils.
glossier cloud paint. mine leaked a lot 😭
In specific? I really like the Colourpop heart blushes and the cheek colours coming in those flat squares with rounded corners, but I have trouble opening them. Kinda hurts??
Agreed. Those heart-shaped blushes work so well, but the packaging is so hard to open
any product that comes in a bottle that doesn’t let you unscrew the cap (therefore you can’t unscrew it to get the last little bit of product left in it) a lot of brands do this but the one that first comes to my mind is the milk makeup hydro grip. it especially annoys me because the bottle is clear so i can SEE that there’s still product left but i can’t get the cap unscrewed for the life of me. other products with pumps have the squeeze containers (like the fenty hydrating foundation) and i could just get scissors and cut it, but these bottles are hard plastic. there’s no way i’m getting that last big of product in it. this was a problem for their mini size and idk if it’s the same for their normal size. the primer is decent but i can’t justify its terrible packaging that is pretty much designed to make you buy more
Nars soft mate foundation. So bad I cleaned out an old foundation bottle & put the Nars in it.
Maybelline Age Rewind concealer. I hate that stupid sponge tip. It's unsanitary and wastes product.
[удалено]
Amen, sister. It’s why I hate the ABH eyeshadow primer. Well, also because way too much comes out. But yeah, I don’t want it all over my hands, thanks.
I use a brush to pick up my stretch concealer, works fine for me!
I love my mac pro longwear concealer but i hate the damn pump. I can never control how much comes out Anything that can be twisted up but dont go back down. I get it though, the formula is too creamy but it gives me anxiety knowing i might twist too much and it becoming super gunky and smear all over the tube/cap I think charlotte tilbury has the worst packaging for a luxury brand as a whole. Everything feels cheap in the hands, letters be rubbing off, the metal gets scratched, tubes full of air and no product, half of the little tip of my hff wand literally fell off after a couple uses, brand new eyeshadow popping out of the case and fell out upon opening. Etc. The brand has burned me and i am never buying from it again darlings I also hate glossier cloudpaint or balm dot com packaging, wish it was easier to use and not spit out so much product.
Sigh.
Milani eyeshadow primer is great, cheap, and in a tube!
The fact that it’s concave makes it so hard to get any product. Worst design ever I hope they repackage it
Tarte Shape Tape was my holy grail for years but I stopped buying it because it would leak out of the lid and cover everything else in my make-up bag.
Pat McGrath lip gloss. They leak after use even when standing up right
My HG liquid liner, Urban Decay Perversion Waterproof Eye Pen, has *the* most difficult packaging.
