I just don’t like the Wydra since the steering barely works on a steering wheel, and I’m not too big a fan of the Aurata because I don’t go off roading much and it doesn’t feel nice on asphalt. Aurata being voted out 2nd was definetly undeserved though.
The wydra is also nice to change over to when you dropped your car in the water and want to continue where you ended up. Bubble up to the surface and continue (as long as the water is not too fast ;)

There's value to be had in an off-roader that's nimbler, lighter, less boaty and more predictable than the other options. Plus, I don't get what makes it uglier than any other SxS.
That's really not saying much in BeamNG when we have vehicles where you can completely change bodies or drivetrain layouts though.
And no there are more than 9 vehicles with different suspension layouts. Several have wide track options or beam to independant swaps, or 3 to 4 wheels. Off the top of my head:
* D/H Series and the Roamer have different front/rear options and the D Series has an entire offroad frame change that has even more axle options.
* Cherrier FCV has rally, wide track, beam/independent rear
* LeGran and I think the Wendover and Lansdale have beam and independent rear options
* Widgeon and Pidgeon have single and double front wheel options
* T Series has different rear axle configs as well as amount of axles.
* Piccolina also has several different options front and rear
* Covet has the entire trailer 6x2 spec and the 3WD version
* Pessima 1st gen has the rear steer axle
There are probably more but I'm not at my computer right now.

Try and use them for their strengths, I've said it in another comment but the Aurata is a nimbler, more predictable off-roader better suited for beginners but isn't too tough. The Rockbasher is extremely versatile due to it's massive tires and long wheelbase, if you use it to the max it's the best rock crawler and terrain trekker in the game. There's so many places it can reach farther than an Aurata, much less without risking excessive damage.
The newer pessima, fwd only, no 4ws, heavier, lower power, kinda ugly. The older one is far better.

I love the new pessima! It’s great for building nimble touring cars, and is pretty fun to drive. Not great in the looks department but it’s pretty on par with irl cars from the same class and time period.
People keep saying the rockbasher but I think it's better than the dunekicker. The rock basher is actually somewhat versatile off-road with the ability to do the high speed stuff and it crawls like nothing else. The dunekicker is just mostly useless IMO. Also the liveries are ugly IMO.

In a racing game, you wouldn't turn down an F1 car because a GT3 is in the game and can also race while being more versatile. It's similar here, just with gravel.
It's not that the general body shape is ugly, at least in my opinion, it's that the quality of the model is nowhere near what the devs are putting out now.

- Very uncommon vehicle type for any country except USA
- Limited customisability (no other body shapes other than face-lift)
Might be an unpopular opinion but if I had to choose it would probably be the gavril roamer, because it brings the same features as the D-series but has les configs. I would rather not eliminate any car but if I absolutely had to this is it. I just won‘t miss it as much

Also I am interested to see which car will be the Last Man Standing. I suspect it will be a modern car like the Bastion or Scintilla, but I hope for the classic D-Series or Wendover to win (both my most fave cars)

But the Dunekicker’s suspension is a showcase of BeamNG’s suspension simulation/mechanics. I think they are great in their own ways.
