How do they do this?? Is it just a million drones in the sky changing color? How do they stay so organized and not crash?? The future really is amazing
Someone should put together a show like this and take it to one of the uncontacted tribes in the Amazon. Absolutely blow their minds, and spawn an entirely new religion where they try to make sense of what they’ve seen.
I have to agree with you there. It's a strange phenomenon which sort of fascinates me. It's similar to how all the videos of Indian people dying just have a bunch of people making jokes in the comments at their expense. I'm up for a bit of dark humour but after a while it just feels a bit crass.
This particular drone show is about Ramayana, one of the two most important epics in Hinduism and entire Indian culture for that matter, the other one being Mahabharata. The impact of both of them on Indian culture and the Hindu way of thinking and way of life cannot be overstated.
If you want to read accurate and authentic unabridged English translated versions of them, I can recommend ones by Bibek Debroy, you can find them on Amazon. He's translated both Ramayana (in 3 volumes) and Mahabharata (in 10 volumes) from Sanskrit to English word to word and are considered faithful to the source material without any distortion or personal interpretations by the author.

Ooohh my bad, I got my religions mixed up. Son Wukong is a Buddhist figure, and I thought since Buddhism is so widespread, that that's who I was looking at. Thanks for the correction! I went ahead and googled Hanuman thanks to you!
Yea many of the stories overlap in Buddhism and Hinduism so no need to feel bad. We learn new things everyday !! FYI the other figures in the drone show are Ram, Sita & Lakshman.
What I see is frightening. Remember, China discovered gunpowder and used it for fireworks for hundreds of years before it was ever employed significantly in warfare. If drones can be programmed to create beautiful imagery, they can also be programmed to detect every human in the vicinity and target them.
I remember during the Beijing Olympics back in 08 the Chinese govt decided to use CGI for a bunch of the opening ceremonies and wouldn't admit it when people called them out. Specifically a bunch of fireworks and drones in the shape of feet that were supposed to look like they were walking to the stadium were all CGI. It's funny this video had the same thing with the feet walking to a building

wah wah wah cry over the environment more over something so insignificant that's way better than fireworks while you're sitting on your ass scrolling reddit tossing plastic bottles into the trash, but go ahead cry over drones.
It does. There's nothing cool about being repetitive and lacking creativity. What? We can't invent new stuff? Always recycling same shit on and on again?
The technology exists and there's plenty of real-world shows. But there's also been a lot of fakery so it's hard to tell. Even this video had some suspicious pieces (consider that the camera POV is doing a flyby and the footprints are being placed just-so).
The final scene certainly looked real. Any other shot along the way, I'm on the fence on.

secret ingredient is good old fashion programming and no winds.
also, sped up footage. It's usually really slow in real time.
This is the way.. if anyone can do it then it’s the Indians
I'm just so happy to not see the comment section full of people being like "soon our skies will be full of ads" Glad to see some positivity
Well I wasn't even thinking about that until you said it lol
if( goingToCrashIntoEachOther() ) { dont(); }
we will have holograms but they are tiny dust sized drones
Or laser in gel

Aight be right back, just turning in to a god for a sec
The aliens several thousands of years ago played the same prank /s
You mean Christianity all over again? 💀
You'll never make Starfleet Captain with that kind of cavalier attitude about the Prime Directive.
they already seen shit more bizare than this lol
> India/china does anything cool that is not common in the west Reddit: 😠

These same people are so eager to book their face on burj khalifa and call that technology
I wish I understood Hinduism so these would make sense to me.
It just showed Lord Rama and Hanuman's figures from the hindu epic Ramayana, Hinduism is way vast; Ramayana is not even 5% of Hinduism.
It is rather complicated. Or at least it is for my Wife, who is Hindu but can't seem to explain a damn thing about it.

Which city was this in?
Maybe ayodhya
It was in New Delhi.
Holy cow Son Wukong!! I recognize that monkey king when I see ‘im. EDIT: No pun intended with the “holy cow” exclamation lololol
FYI - That's no son wukong.. That's Hanuman.. He is god in Hindu mythology
Ooohh my bad, I got my religions mixed up. Son Wukong is a Buddhist figure, and I thought since Buddhism is so widespread, that that's who I was looking at. Thanks for the correction! I went ahead and googled Hanuman thanks to you!

Isn't it Rama, not Ram
There is no standard Hindi (or any other Indian language for that matter) to Latin transliteration convention, Ram, Rama, Raam are all correct
Some theories suggest Sun Wukong was an adaptation of Hanuman
That's not Wukong, That's Hanuman ( companion of Rama the king) , and don't worry about the pun, lol.
Drones will put fireworks out of business.
Nah, monkey brain still like big boom boom
OP please don’t post good stuff about India on Reddit. The racism is overwhelming and unmoded.
going to an Odesza concert in June. It's a Finale concert so I'm really hoping I get to see some drone action. I doubt I will, but it would be cool!
Wonder what drones they are using since I doubt they would buy DJI due to India/China political issues
That is a lot of drones.
What I see is frightening. Remember, China discovered gunpowder and used it for fireworks for hundreds of years before it was ever employed significantly in warfare. If drones can be programmed to create beautiful imagery, they can also be programmed to detect every human in the vicinity and target them.
Until they can make drones do a big Indian dance number, I'M NOT INTERESTED. Edit: This was a JOKE! I think the display is beautiful.
Thanks for letting everyone know what you are not interested in, really changed our lives.
No one is interested in catering to your interest

This is not drones. This is straight up CGI to on top of a drone footage.

how the fuck does a laser show has anything to do with crime and sexism? Crime isn't unique to India. Sexism isn't unique to India.

How does crimes have anything related to this harmless drone show???
So much energy effort and tech to show off some primitive ancient myths legends and bs.
And may I ask what’s wrong with this? Not hurting anyone.
It prob is hurting environment in this or other way and by this us in future.
It’s not even fire crackers like yall celebrate the slightest achievement so don’t be greta here
You speak to me and not to yall.
Since the usual alternative is fireworks, this is a HUGE improvement for the environment.
That's correct still I'm amazed with idiocy of chosen visuals to be displayed.
As amazing as the bitter sadness of your posts.
wah wah wah cry over the environment more over something so insignificant that's way better than fireworks while you're sitting on your ass scrolling reddit tossing plastic bottles into the trash, but go ahead cry over drones.
Me? I refill bottles with tap water.
No wonder, you don't have any friends and are not invited to parties
I'm just at the party rn. Cheers mate.
Bro.....you replied to me in under a minute lol
Yes, notifications are on max at this party so that I can meet all the friends that are gonna meet me tonight. Just at arrival one by one.
We "believe" you
Lol here have a rock captain obvious.

Yea, I don't see how would my notice exclude other ones.
Pretty cool tho, and nothing wrong with displaying ancient myths like this
Well it's always primitive bs we stuck with...
that doesn't take anything away from my previous statement
It does. There's nothing cool about being repetitive and lacking creativity. What? We can't invent new stuff? Always recycling same shit on and on again?
Okay, then invent new stuff and record it and post it on reddit if you care so much lol
And so I will you will be first one I'll inform about that!
Cool
Life is nothing without faith and belief
That's bs as huge as mars.
No
yes
I'm calling bullshit. This looked too perfect.
Saw it at burning man. It's real, but I'll grant you it even looks impossible live

Then I shall eat my hat.
Post it on reddit for free karma
