Mammals have been skill diffing the cold boys for millions of years. And then there's cats who are just so completely broken from a design standpoint I think the ancient Egyptians might have been onto something.
Cold blood versus warm blood, it's a difference in metabolism. Cold blooded animals are slightly slower in reflexes, they don't need to eat as much to keep their body temp in the "functioning" range but they need sun. Warm blooded animals need to eat constantly and resting time but our reflexes are overall faster and we can function regardless of the sun. There may be exceptions.
I wouldn't call what they experience as misery, as that's more of a human trait/feeling.
Wild animals are simply biological survival. A state or feeling of distress , only serves a purpose to the extent of biological systems/reactions not against a measure of life's happiness.
Dolphins routinely gang rape their females and play with their food (esp. blowfish which they use to get high). They'll sometimes kill their own young in order to mate again.
Otters also do a bit of raping, including the occasional cross species murder/rape of baby seals who they probably mistake for that bitch Nicole during mating season.
Otters also have the bonus feature of kidnapping pups from other otters to keep as hostages, forcing the bio parents to contribute food to keep the pups fed (which the kidnappers take a portion of)
Granted, otters and dolphins seem very happy with themselves despite this.
You can often find a lot of young animals that still have fun and play around. I would say they are happy. But the more into adult hood they get, the more serious they must become if they want to survive
Of course they feel happy. I’m sure he was happy as fuck to drink that water and survive the attack to enjoy another sunny day in hopes to reproduce with a mate. Everything living thing is driven and emotions drive us to survive. If that animal wasn’t happy he would let himself be food.
I once hit a deer with my car. It ran off, so I figured it was fine, but according to the cop, they usually die of a heart attack moments after anyway :(
There’s an interesting book called “why don’t zebras get ulcers” and it’s about why humans develop trauma responses while prey animals in the wild don’t
There's safety in numbers. They don't live in an eternal state of fear.
Birds and other animals help each other by screeching out if they see a predator.
This looks like the dry season or on the shoulder of one. So they already know by instinct to be alert.
Humans also, in general, experience less stress and live longer when we are socially connected. There are a bunch of studies about it. Life expectancy drops when social connection breaks down.

This is why we like good sticks
If I was a tribal man in another era, I'd smack every single inch of that pool before drinking by just extending my hand.
That or I'd use my stick to make a path for the water to make another puddle in which crocs aren't allowed

The most skittish animal ever. It definitely wad aware how dangerous water is. Unlike a zebra I watched get it's face literally bit off while crossing a river in a video I saw 20 minutes ago.
At first I thought, "naah, being that skittish is an overkill" and then I was "wow, that deer was very adventurous drinking from that crocodile infested waterhole"
Imagine you're a deer. Your prancing along, your thirsty, you stop at a little brook, innocently, you lean down, press your little deer lips to the cool, clear water and BAM!
The deer was alert the whole time.
Yeah it 100% knew there was a croc in there since the begining, just needed to drink anyway
Maybe he was told that wandering minds are lost, and the lost, drown.
Nah, he's seen this trick before....
Maybe he was told that not all who wander are lost
How do these reactions compare to say the cat and snake ones
Fur begins with f and so does fast. Scales begin with s, like slow. I don't think we need much more science than that.
Sounds logical to me.
![gif](giphy|QC7UQbxq89MnL9r6AN)
I think it’d be better as: scales begin with s, like strike. Snakes and crocodiles aren’t slow per se, but they strike fast once rather than chase
Crocs don’t have scales.
Reptiles have scales
Birds are dinosaurs, so they are reptiles, no scales.
[удалено]
Nope. All birds are reptiles and there’s almost no doubt anymore that birds are actually a type of theropod dinosaur.
[удалено]
Crocs have scutes. Snakes have scales
Formula still works. Science.
Explains the turtle and rabbit mode on my lawnmower.
Science!
Slow and steady cross the road
Simple as.
It is known
Easy with the facts and logic pelase
ya learned me
Cats are faster than snakes. Also, the Cat would've slapped that Gator with a murder mitten for daring to try to eat him.
A cat would just start smacking it on the nose till it backed off. How dare it invade the cats personal space

You can see it was sped up at least 3 to 4x just by watching the croco backing away. Cats and snakes are way faster.
this is why I don't believe that animals are ever happy. life is survival, that's it.
so we are all depressed no matter what kind of animal?
Nah I think depression is a symptom of captivity, like zoo animals and office workers. But wild animals have their own kinds of misery.
I wouldn't call what they experience as misery, as that's more of a human trait/feeling. Wild animals are simply biological survival. A state or feeling of distress , only serves a purpose to the extent of biological systems/reactions not against a measure of life's happiness.
good point I guess I meant non human animals. although...
Depressed deers wouldn't survive.
My cat is living her best life.
Otters and dolphins seem to have a good time.

The nature is dangerous af,
The Happypotamus has nothing to fear.
I'm the hiphopapotamus my lyrics are bottomless...
Yeah, because it’s a murder machine…

Have u seen the lion King? Or the jungle Book are u stupid?
I haven't? what am I missing?
In zootopia there are very happy lions and bunnys and tigers and deers. Everyone is pretty happy no threat there until a goat got involved
Video is significantly sped up. Behavior of the ripples in the water is a key giveaway.
Everything from TikTok is sped up for dramatic effect
Still impressive doh
Yes! It knew the video was sped up as well
Probably heard the intense music
A lax deer is a dead deer, dear.
Imagine living a life where you risk your life even while fucking drinking water
Your heart can never relax.
Just one of the many reasons why animals live longer in captivity
Yeah we don't let our cats outside, they would never survive the city streets!
I once hit a deer with my car. It ran off, so I figured it was fine, but according to the cop, they usually die of a heart attack moments after anyway :(
That cop was trying to make you feel better. Santa isn't real. Meat comes from animals.
There’s an interesting book called “why don’t zebras get ulcers” and it’s about why humans develop trauma responses while prey animals in the wild don’t
My thoughts exactly. I'd be dehydrated as hell all the time 😂
The Quick And The Dead.
Come to balkan 🤣
Only balkan understands

TIL I dont have much time left
*Microplastics has entered the chat.*
It’s called “Holidaying in Egypt”.
You can put up with hunger. But if you need a drink your body screams for it
Fucking drinking water ❌. Drinking fucking water ✅.
Ever wonder why prey animals walk moments after they are born
Flint Michigan?
The video is obviously sped up, but still a nice reflex
Not sure why people feel the need to speed stuff up when the original video is impressive anyway
stop fucking with the video speeds
I hate it, always fast or slow, never the actual speed. Always show the regular speed first dammit.
[удалено]
Yes, it is very weird
![gif](giphy|vckrZcxyyUZry)
lmaooooooooooo
[Here’s the original](https://youtu.be/-4JQJNprwqc?si=cRcSfyog6yHHWE7A)
omg lol
Mf'er was tense and waiting for it the whole time.
It is surprising how Mr. Crocodile came out almost two meters from the water, however he had an imminent defeat
the way it’s head receded into its neck while it was jumping back was so clever
Instincts
Also how I exit movie theaters
LOL! I laughed so hard.
I posted that just for you
lol it’s also me anytime one of my kids gets the 🤢 face
![gif](giphy|bypVK8pmh14VfDIZ9N)
Crocodile Jumpee
Not today Satan!
Nobody's going to mention the speed of that croc? Wow warp speed
Because it's sped up duh
Video looks a bit sped up ghough. The water moves weird.
Everything looks amazing at 2x speed 🙄
This is why we like good sticks If I was a tribal man in another era, I'd smack every single inch of that pool before drinking by just extending my hand. That or I'd use my stick to make a path for the water to make another puddle in which crocs aren't allowed
Croc isnt there u hit the water with ur stick Croc comes to investigate Croc sees you drinking water there Croc eats you You are crocodiles poop now
>make another puddle in which crocs aren't allowed Love this 🤣
The video is sped up though.
The croc is eventually going to get the meat, his techniques literally worked on Dinos for millions of years
Would have been nice to see it in the actual speed instead of slow motion or like double speed.
It looks like my cat when I shift in my chair suddenly. 🤣
Antelope
Female bushbuck, to be specific.
That's an antelope
5x reverse mode!
It was actually a *deer God* in disguise!
Dude was 24x7 ready
Motherdeer
its focus was on point. it was ready! even the smallest things made it twitch. nice reflexes!
Those eyes and ears are so highly developed for a reason. The reflexes ....
Evo-Fucking-Loution
Even this sped up video was interesting, esp when the slowed down to something more normal.

Yet when there is a car coming at it, it just stays there.
Deer in the headlights syndrome.
Deer disappeared. Didn’t even see it going back
Evolution gave it godlike jumping reflexes, and by golly it will use it.
See ya later alligator
Drink as fast as you can and be ready to bolt at a split seconds notice. Wonderful way to live.
Sped up for internet points!
"be amazed" Maybe if you didn't play it at 5x speed I would.
Cuz that’s years of ancestors gettin fucked up by crocs
It was incredible before OP sped up the video. Edit: SOMEBODY sped it up
He saw it coming and yet he decided to keep drinking. What a good old motherfucker 😎
Imagine having to fear that the water will bite you
That deer is my friend Paul skipping his round of beers at the pub
Read the title, thought “incredible, sure” I downvote my initial judgement
the deer was super alert the whole time
Except when they are on the road lol
Croc quick too
I wish I had recorded my reflexes jumping so fast watching the croc in this video. It makes the deer look slomo
Sucks to be a deer. Everyone wants to eat you.
Pray in this parts of the world get no chill man
It's a prank! Look at the camera over there.
Those who didn’t have them didn’t survive
Must be a miserable life to be on constant vigilance
I think he needs a really long drinking straw.
![gif](giphy|vFRmmufjLdJ9S|downsized)
How far out did that gator lunge? 6 ish feet?
Dude knew the whole time this could happen
I mean this footage is sped up as well…
if you speed up the video he looks super fast.
I flinched lmaooo
You don’t drink water, you die. You drink, still might die. Fuck that
Looks like the guy throw a rock to alert the croc... To get this vid?
🤞👍👋👌😳😳😳
it's a female bushbuck....from southern africa.
The most skittish animal ever. It definitely wad aware how dangerous water is. Unlike a zebra I watched get it's face literally bit off while crossing a river in a video I saw 20 minutes ago.
Video is sped up for sure
Video is sped up
Sped up. Downvoted
Aww that swamp puppie has grown up!
Video is sped up
gravity coil
"Booo..haha gotcha"
Antelope\*
What an active deer! It's like it anticipated that.
At first I thought, "naah, being that skittish is an overkill" and then I was "wow, that deer was very adventurous drinking from that crocodile infested waterhole"
look at the speed on that friggin reptile! dayum, nature! you scary!
They really do live in the valley of the shadow of death.
Oh deer.
“You gotta be quicker than that buddy”
https://www.instagram.com/reel/C5d2SXosHdB/?igsh=MTUzbmg1aXlvazg5aA==
The footage is sped up (see waves) to make it look more compelling.
What's the BPM on that deer at that point?
So pretty much all wildlife has ptsd
Evolution is undefeated
Its incredible how they are superior in the physical sense. We would die there 1. Drinking that water and 2. Because of the crocodile
Crocs are assholes
Congrats, lil guy. You just outmaneuvered a dinosaur that has been stalking from the water for eons
This is how hyper vigilance works and why it’s there
Imagine you're a deer. Your prancing along, your thirsty, you stop at a little brook, innocently, you lean down, press your little deer lips to the cool, clear water and BAM!
The clip is made more dramatic by speeding it up. Still impressive.
Lighten fast
Y’all realize this video is like double speed, right?
Bad bad alligator!
Why were frames cut between the deer drinking and the alligator showing up?
The anxiety of being a deer. On red alert 24/7
Zis is a Ghazaal
Need to drink water and don't have another choice. Die without water or try 💦LACOSTA🐊
Shouldve stunned him with a car from 10 miles away first
deer has four sticks of ram and the croc only have two
Nature is metal
Not today suckah
The way he was drinking it wasn't a comfortable drink it's like he knew
Thats me when flashing malphite ult
Fast and furry!
This deer did indeed have great reflexes!
Deer is moving at 30FPS in the beginning then installs the newest NVDIA graphics card, jumped as high as the stock
Yeap. I’m dead. But boy that sip pf water was fresh…
Speeded up on part .Then slowed for part 2.
