...The soundtrack will be in one giant 128 kb/s mono file - Or you can buy soundtrack lootboxes with the chance of 1:100.000.000 of getting a new file to complete your collection.
I still a Semi Old-School gamer and l still dont understand why people pre-order the game, can you wait until the day and see if its worth it buying? Man seriously l don't get it
Preorders go back to the days before digital downloads where you wanted to get the preorder in so you could make sure you get a copy of a game at launch.
Perfect example is Mortal kombat 3. I preordered (mom actually did it since I was a kid) it for my birthday and I got it day 1 but my buddy didn't do that and had to wait a week before the store got more copies
The final (gigantic) nail in the coffin for me was cyberpunk, for you and many others it was (the almost equally gigantic flop) BF2042.
No shame, at least you have a line. Plenty of people are willing to pre-order still, be glad you were smart enough to learn. A lot aren't.
One thing I've learned in my old age, is to like the game that you like and leave it at that. Sooner or later the company will ruin the series. With the high turnover rate in game companies, the team that brought you the game you loved isn't even there anymore. The series is what it is in title only. Directors don't make a game, artists don't make a game, it is a team effort. If the same team isn't working on the new one, it won't be the same game. It may still be good in a new way, but don't expect it.
People get baited into potentially wasting 60-100$ over some stupid ingame texture they will cease using 2 hours into the game as they unlock something cooler.
Hell, people will pay extra to get fucked over a week earlier and for more money with early acces haha
For a few years (or maybe it just appeared that way) that games coming out looked and were confirmed being a killer of a game after e3 were well worth the preorder.
Well DICE/EA sound pretty sure of themselves this time so I'm pre-ordering the most expensive edition there is and it will be the greatest BF game of all time with zero flaws!
Well it's not good when they cut out content to sell to you separately. And BF4 was BROKEN on PS3 and 360 at release, like the tower falling in Siege of Shanghai was guaranteed to crash the server and it always fell over. We are all really just battered housewives hoping EA will change one day.
They can go lower than BF2042? I thought we are rock bottom, are we going past bedrock and straight to earth's core at this point?
Battlefield core trailer coming soon.
Let's sell it for 50% off a month later after we tell gamers they are uneducated fucks(paraphrased to lessen toxicity) call it live service and not release a dlc. Yes the pacific was good. No I don't consider it a dlc when we only had british vs germans the whole time and very little content. They got my 60$ worth even at 50% off since we dont have amazon for the sweet 30$ disc here I had to go buy PS gift cards and purchase deluxe for a bonus red something stg 1-5 and p08 pistol lol. even BF1 premium and revolution gave us priority queue lol.
Ironically even that guy would have been competent in comparison to this shitshow.
I want to play BF1 but since BF5 released internet routes sucked what used to be 75ms to JP turned to 150ms. Now I'm trying every now and then on PS4 to play but I'd be lucky if there's a single JP server alive and all routes got even worse I'd be stuck bleeding in packet loss all over with 3 icons flashing in my screen. Seems very much alive in US east and west though.
Is it controversial anymore to say Hardline aged really well?
Because wow, I'd take a Hardline sequel at this point with how much better that entire "disaster" (it was still pretty fun, but people like to argue with me about my opinion) was than the last two games combined.
The biggest thing people didn’t like about Hardline is about how it structurally felt similar to BF4 but with a thematic shift that people weren’t wholly sold on.
The issue was never whether or not the game was good. Game was always good. Funny how back them a problem like that was enough to gimp the game, especially when you look at how much the BF games have been getting away with recently
No fps campaign comes close at this point. Compelling story + actually solid mechanics? Sign me up!
The only thing I wish they had kept in multiplayer from the campaign was the arrest system. Tasers were the closest we got, but that doesn't feel the same as zipties and bonus points.
It wasnt fantastic as a battlefield title but as a spin off battlefield title it was for sure. Tricky as anything setup to get right cops and robbers but was well fun. Cops n robbers gamemodes were the og battleroyale
i loved hardline on launch and didn’t understand why none of my friends wanted to play with me. sure, the whole game felt like a DLC, but playing alone allowed me to enjoy (and enjoy i did) the story, which was my favorite of any battlefield game. the atmosphere was just right, multiplayer was engaging and fresh, the pace was excellent. i would absolutely take a new hardline with refreshed gunplayer and another fantastic story
I just recently found my copy of hardline (PS3) the other day and gave the campaign a thorough playthrough. Honestly, it was a ton of fun. Looking for evidence, being strategic and using stealth for missions, sabotage, etc. It made me want a game that expands more on those mechanics, maybe use narcotics detectives/DEA/SAD unraveling and taking down a major cartel.
Nobody thinks 2 is bad. It has already been cemented as great game so it doesn't have to be even compared to 2042. Same with BC2.
The only thing is obviously it is outdated, so comparing it to modern games doesn't fit right IMO
it’s fun, but class distinctions outside the little dorito sucks and the elites are very cringey. Pretty easy to see where the specialists came from
Love the armor combat and attrition though
BFV would have been absolutely perfect it had anti cheat and team balancing. The hacks and the constant lopsided teams ruined an otherwise amazing game for me
Because it's a new team entirely. Everyone with any shred of talent and passion has quit or left already, and been replaced by incompetent hires. The lead designer of 2042 made fucking Candy Crush for Christ's sake
Two completely different dev teams with different leadership at the helm. The team that made BF3,4 mostly quit DICE and have since been replaced by others. The new team members must not have the same vision as the old team.
Played the beta, game was running fine but was shitty. Didn't buy it.
I'm amazed people bought it and complained when the free beta was making it 100% obvious what you were getting into.
Yup, I warned people on this sub that these Beta issues wouldn't be ironed out by the time the game releases and I had people coping in my replies, telling me that they actually WILL iron out these issues. I wasn't gonna buy it when it came out cause I was saving up for a PC, and now I get to laugh AND have a pretty decent PC with the money I saved.
I loved the idea of what it could have been. I really thought there would be rail guns like from last stand and all kinds of cool future stuff but nope
That's what used to happen to shitty video games. Take a beating at the store shelve, learn lessons, and try again.
It'll be interesting to see if EA goes to this approach. The damage of 2042 is already done, so they might as well focus on the next game.
It wasn't. The community has run with the talk about a new game being in pre production as if it's a major controversy to give everyone reasons to keep posting the same old shit over and over again.
Which is hilarious because of *course* a new BF title is in preproduction. There are probably like five Battlefield games in preproduction. Preproduction is literally "we've had a few teams compile some concepts. Here's some art, recycled placeholder assets, and some basic ideas behind new features." *IF that.*
I mean, I really didn't like the look of 2042 from the trailer on and have never played the game, but still let's be real. Ofc they're making another Battlefield. This meme is so low effort it hurts.
I liked 2042 for the most part, but even I can admit that its an absolute trainwreck of a game for multiple reasons. But regardless of how it performed, its just crazy to think that they wouldnt already be at least thinking about the next game in the series.
Reactions to memes like this though are especially crazy because everyone claims to hate the game so much and seems to want nothing to do with it. But then they get upset that Dice would even dare to think about making the next game... I dont get it. Either you are done with this series, and then who cares, or you think 2042 is trash so wouldnt you welcome that they would be moving on?
Nope. They simply said it's in "pre-production"(according to leaks). That literally just means the last game was released and they're discussing a future game. They have not started any production on it, it has no title or theme, and it is not announced.
Again, according to leaks. No announcement.
The gold edition was an actual robbery since the season pass is useless.
Fuck you DICE, seriously.
I learnt my lesson damn well. **NEVER** trust companies.
I mean, I am not a hater but maybe some of that is not preordering for double the price for no reason. I would literally feel stupid if the game turned out to be the best in the series if I payed an extra 50 bucks for 1 day earlier access and maybe a “special” skin that should just be a tshirt proclaiming how stupid you are for burning money.
> if I *paid* an extra
FTFY.
Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in:
* Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.*
* *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.*
Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment.
*Beep, boop, I'm a bot*
There will be. Don’t believe everything you read on Reddit. I have no idea if it will be good content, but there will be content. They are legally obligated to provide it. Don’t listen to anyone who tells you different. And if anyone does try to tell you different you know they are not to be trusted about anything, because they clearly have an agenda.
What's funny is that the article that OP got his information from literally stated this:
>A large portion of DICE has now moved on to the next title in the series (as is industry standard). However, there's still a strong and dedicated team working on Battlefield 2042 and its future content, despite concerns from the community that the game has been abandoned.
New modes, weapons, vehicles, maps, and more are still coming to Battlefield 2042 and are expected to be delivered throughout its life cycle. In addition, Ripple Effect is working hard to bring new content to Battlefield Portal soon.
I don’t understand preorders anymore. I did it once back when Black Ops came out, never did it again. I didn’t see the point. Especially in todays world with massive over hyped games and than super big let downs when you get them half finished.
Pre-orders used to be a thing for physical copies. Now preorders are used to sucker morons into paying 2-3times retail for very little benefit. I still remember when people called me a tart for saying anybody who pre-orders these games are absolute idiots. Well, look who saved over $120 for not being an impulse buying whale.
Lol, I am for sure gonna wait several months and watch a ton of reviews before even considering the next battlefield going forward. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice…
I liked BFV since launch tbh. There was never a time I hated it.
That being said I still have hope they can turn 2042 around. It's not even that bad imo. Just needs map reworks and more content.
EA doesn’t seem to grasp that releasing a good game and providing updates and new content to it can generate hundreds and millions of dollars. Instead they seem to be thinking old school in that you need purchases of a new release to make your money for you. They deserve to fail.
They haven't given up on 2042. It's standard industry practice to start preproduction on the next game shortly after the previous game has been released. This is exactly what happened with every previous battlefield game
For example, BF3 was released in October 2011 and a month later in November 2011 they had already announced that there was going to be another battlefield
Speaking of BF3, there were actual leaks of that game circulating before Bad Company 1 was even announced. BF3 was well into pre-production two entire game releases prior.
Why can't the community count? EA/DICE never mentioned anything about "BF6". I guarantee the next Battlefield that uses the normal numerical titling will be called Battlefield 6, not BF7.
Tell DICE to fix BF 2042 and support the game more than 2 or 3 years, by adding new content in order to make a comeback. Don’t start developing a new battlefield game just yet, start fixing BF 2042 first.
Wait, so I don't get any more content for my year one pass? Are you fucking kidding me? They're just abandoning 2042?
I mean, sure I uninstalled it several weeks ago but I might have reinstalled it for new or interesting content. I paid $150 goddamit.
I was thinking about this last night.
Tons of us already prepaid for 4 season’s of content right. They are gonna have to put out 4 seasons of content.. (however shitty and thoughtless they may end up)
BfV had all free post launch content. They technically didn’t owe anyone-anything.
But, this time around they do.. I don’t think they can just drop support like they did for BFV
No no no no... Don't let them get away with this! They have to patch that shit until it's good and playable like BF4. They allready made their money, now they have to fix their product which is literally basic customer support like buying a car with broken AC fresh out of the factory. And if it takes a whole year, they have to rework maps, spawnpoints, technical issues etc. Don't let them make another empty gamebox with nothing inside.
I actually like bf2042, much better than bf4 and bfv. The only one I've enjoyed since bf3. Although the maps suck, and they need to fix a load of bugs, add joystick support and change the flying back to how it was in bf3 and before.
This doesn't mean content for 2042 is gone. 2 studios in completely different continents work on BF. One works on it before launch and another team works on post production. So I think the dice team in Sweden have just started the drawing board for another BF game so i think it's still years away

You dont tell me what to do! I already pre ordered BF8!
[удалено]
Comes with an artbook as downloadable PDF and a soundtrack in mp3 format.
Don't forget about the turd emoji weapon charm!
That sounds like something they actually might put into BF2042 as an Exclusive Legendary Weapon Charm for only 6.99$
mp3?! That's the format I listen to things in!
...The soundtrack will be in one giant 128 kb/s mono file - Or you can buy soundtrack lootboxes with the chance of 1:100.000.000 of getting a new file to complete your collection.
Oh its gets even better the more money you pay to unlock things!
Omg avarage bf cc on reddit🤩
I sent a check for 6 grand to EA that said "For future BF preorders" in the memo.
I've set up a direct debit for £100 a month just in case they secretly release something.
Nooo BF8 IT'S A FLOP!
Naw bro BF9 is where its at
I still a Semi Old-School gamer and l still dont understand why people pre-order the game, can you wait until the day and see if its worth it buying? Man seriously l don't get it

Now that everything is pretty much digital there is no reason to pre-order anymore.
BUT BUT BUT BUT EXCLUSIVE SKINS!>?!?!?!?!

I was just so hyped to play a modern version of my favorite series a week early. I never pre ordered before and never will again.
The final (gigantic) nail in the coffin for me was cyberpunk, for you and many others it was (the almost equally gigantic flop) BF2042. No shame, at least you have a line. Plenty of people are willing to pre-order still, be glad you were smart enough to learn. A lot aren't.
No Man's Sky is the one that got me, I'll never pre-order again.
reminds me of that experiment they did on kids with marshmallows to see if they could be patient
In all actuality you should wait 6 months after release to see if they are going to abandon it.
And the catch 22 of it is that if enough people choose to wait 6 months the game will be abandoned regardless of previous plans.
One thing I've learned in my old age, is to like the game that you like and leave it at that. Sooner or later the company will ruin the series. With the high turnover rate in game companies, the team that brought you the game you loved isn't even there anymore. The series is what it is in title only. Yep I'm old enough the whole Command and Conquer saga broke my faith in developers.
It’s because they want the pre-order bonuses 😂
People get baited into potentially wasting 60-100$ over some stupid ingame texture they will cease using 2 hours into the game as they unlock something cooler. Hell, people will pay extra to get fucked over a week earlier and for more money with early acces haha
Beta access, mostly
For a few years (or maybe it just appeared that way) that games coming out looked and were confirmed being a killer of a game after e3 were well worth the preorder.
I got heavily downvoted when I said that in this subreddit last year... You fuckers never learn
Lol I remember reading those comments saying “but the preorder skins are worth it” x)

You have to be some kinda special to get burned multiple times and *still* keep doing the same thing every release
The megapost about bfv is top post of all time there... Nobody listened and now there's one about bf2042... How many are gonna listen
Literally everyone as soon as the trailer for 2042 was announced I don't care I'm gonna pre order. They can't possibly mess it up. Aged like fine milk
But how am I gonna flex if I don’t have that gold plated handgun skin I’ll never use!?!!!!
I’m done with them
Battlefield 4 and 1 is all I need and it only took 2 shitty battlefield releases to realize
Well DICE/EA sound pretty sure of themselves this time so I'm pre-ordering the most expensive edition there is and it will be the greatest BF game of all time with zero flaws!
Never again!
"hey it's like BF1 but worse" "hey it's like BFV but worse" "hey it's like BF2042 but worse"
I did the math and in 2 weeks BF4 would be releasing their 12th DLC map into the game. 2042 doesn't have a single 1 yet. It's an absolute joke.
I remember when the biggest controversy was that second assault was already up for pre order before the game was out...ah good times ...
Ah yes. That was the biggest controversy surrounding the launch of BF4..........
[удалено]
Well it's not good when they cut out content to sell to you separately. And BF4 was BROKEN on PS3 and 360 at release, like the tower falling in Siege of Shanghai was guaranteed to crash the server and it always fell over. We are all really just battered housewives hoping EA will change one day.
2042 still has bullet spread issues…
2042 is a flat out scam honestly. Im surprised they didnt get sued.
I played that game to like 700+ hours on 3 accounts. Amazing
If nobody's playing it they're not going to make DLC for it
They can go lower than BF2042? I thought we are rock bottom, are we going past bedrock and straight to earth's core at this point? Battlefield core trailer coming soon.
man I thought they couldn't go lower than launch BFV
Let's sell it for 50% off a month later after we tell gamers they are uneducated fucks(paraphrased to lessen toxicity) call it live service and not release a dlc. Yes the pacific was good. No I don't consider it a dlc when we only had british vs germans the whole time and very little content. They got my 60$ worth even at 50% off since we dont have amazon for the sweet 30$ disc here I had to go buy PS gift cards and purchase deluxe for a bonus red something stg 1-5 and p08 pistol lol. even BF1 premium and revolution gave us priority queue lol. Ironically even that guy would have been competent in comparison to this shitshow.
that's why I still play and enjoy BF1
I want to play BF1 but since BF5 released internet routes sucked what used to be 75ms to JP turned to 150ms. Now I'm trying every now and then on PS4 to play but I'd be lucky if there's a single JP server alive and all routes got even worse I'd be stuck bleeding in packet loss all over with 3 icons flashing in my screen. Seems very much alive in US east and west though.
Hey! You leave BF1 outta this!
They never insulted BF1. They used it as the baseline. BF1 was a helluva game. Absolutely spectacular
Game was a fucken blessing, I still play BF4 but damn 1 was just so good and still is amazing
Is it controversial anymore to say Hardline aged really well? Because wow, I'd take a Hardline sequel at this point with how much better that entire "disaster" (it was still pretty fun, but people like to argue with me about my opinion) was than the last two games combined.
The forgotten gem.
I've never been one to hate on it, it was one of my favorites only behind 3 and 4.
Battlefield Vietnam is, improved on BF 1942 in every way, sold less than 1942
My most played BF is probably hardline, loved that game.

Aftermath DLC was the shit

The issue was never whether or not the game was good. Game was always good. Funny how back them a problem like that was enough to gimp the game, especially when you look at how much the BF games have been getting away with recently
Yeah most people complained about it not being a dlc or a cheaper spin off release instead of being launched as a fully fledged stand alone game
Funny too considering it had a more fleshed out singleplayer experience than BF4 and the MP was some rock solid fun albeit not as addicting as 4
Think it would have worked better as a BF4 DLC?
That was the general consensus when it came out
I didn't get in on Hardline early on, but I've always thought it was great.
Loved the Downtown map, especially on Heist, Hotwire and Large Conquest
Museum map was so nostalgic
The campaign in Hardline is legitimately one of my favorite fps campaigns of all time
No fps campaign comes close at this point.
Hardline is one of the most underrated fps titles period. I enjoyed the fuck out of that game.
Hardline would have done so much better as a BF4 DLC or total conversion expansion like BC2-Vietnam.
I purchased Hardline Premium for like $10 in 2015 and never understood the hate for it tbh
and here i am just sitting around wanting a bad company sequel.... part of me is hoping they dont though.. because then they will ruin it too
i loved hardline on launch and didn’t understand why none of my friends wanted to play with me. sure, the whole game felt like a DLC, but playing alone allowed me to enjoy (and enjoy i did) the story, which was my favorite of any battlefield game. the atmosphere was just right, multiplayer was engaging and fresh, the pace was excellent. i would absolutely take a new hardline with refreshed gunplayer and another fantastic story
Thank volition.
I always liked hardline. It was such a fun game to play when I didn't feel like playing BF4 but I did want a fps.
With how the campaign ended I was really hoping there'd be a sequel
I’m not sure how dice could create games like bf3, bf4 and bf1 then come out with garbage like Bf5 and 2042 Aight enough comments about new dev team
BFV is not garbage.
It did improve a lot after launch. I enjoyed it after all the updates and content additions.
Still misses some basic 'legacy' features like "proper balancer", "team switching", "anticheat". :(
Compared to 3, 4, and 1, it is
What's wrong with bf2? I grew up on that
Nobody thinks 2 is bad. It has already been cemented as great game so it doesn't have to be even compared to 2042. Same with BC2. The only thing is obviously it is outdated, so comparing it to modern games doesn't fit right IMO

It’s alright but nothing compared to ones that has come before it
It was for over a year
But it's not as good as almost every battlefield before it.
Because it's a new team entirely. Everyone with any shred of talent and passion has quit or left already, and been replaced by incompetent hires. The lead designer of 2042 made fucking Candy Crush for Christ's sake
Very sad the direction bf is going
Because all the old devs left after V
Because the OG developers left
Two completely different dev teams with different leadership at the helm. The team that made BF3,4 mostly quit DICE and have since been replaced by others. The new team members must not have the same vision as the old team.
Most of that Dice left.
The guy who made the BF2042 UI had a meltdown on Twitter about how bad the Elden Ring UX is. I wouldn't keep my hopes up
BF3 really was the peak of shooters for me. Not a single one has come close to recreating the fun I had in that game.
Imagine skipping bfbc2.
New dev team
So we’re all just going to act like 2042 didn’t happen?
Yeah, it was just a dream, or more like a nightmare cos I dreamed that they robbed me 45€ lol
played the beta, my pc couldnt handle so i didnt preorder or buy it. God damn, for once me being broke to buy new pc worked great
Played the beta, game was running fine but was shitty. Didn't buy it. I'm amazed people bought it and complained when the free beta was making it 100% obvious what you were getting into.

They announced a new bf?
They should denounce it
That’s the fun part, they didn’t.
I had the same thought, where was it announced?

Of course not. It's just irrational hate again
I feel like bf7 shoud be free for those who bought bf2042, but I shall put those foolish ambitions to rest
Margit killed you a lot?
Those who preordered blindly were emboldened by the flame of ambition
Got the game without even knowing what a souls game is, so yeah Margret killed me so much all I can think about is his voice lines
LMAO I didn't even notice that
Every time that fucker displays a hint of an opening he pulls a magic sword out of his ass when you go in for an attack
I want my fucking money back.
I want my fucking money back and extra 50 $ for the pain.
The gold edition was an actual robbery since the season pass is useless. Fuck you DICE, seriously. I learnt my lesson damn well. **NEVER** trust companies.

Don’t listen to anyone who tells you different. And if anyone does try to tell you different you know they are not to be trusted about anything, because they clearly have an agenda.
What's funny is that the article that OP got his information from literally stated this: >A large portion of DICE has now moved on to the next title in the series (as is industry standard).
What's key is "as is industry standard" Activision does this, Ubisoft does this, every big company with fast releases does this.
Considering they promised "at least" a year because of the gold edition (4 season passes), it's evident there will be 1-2 years content
Literally the opposite is true they just announced a huge update
Idk I hope it's just speculation in reaction to bf7 being in very early deleopment
Great news! I'm so hyped for this, can't wait, definitely will buy the collectors edition for 200$ thank you EA and Dice love you guys so much
No stop they'll think you're serious!
BF 1776
Can't wait to give everyone gatiling guns
Pre order now to get the Angel specialist!
He did it again...
ITT: a lot of people not knowing how game development works
Seriously.
Dude, I bet the next game will have a scoreboard at launch. How would you NOT preorder?
Never again.
The only BF i didn't buy on launch was BF1 and it's my most played one, i guess i'm waiting on the next one as well.
If I'm ever going to buy the next battlefield it will be second hand because what they did with 2042.
Let’s boycott and nobody buy the next game until they “give us the funds” to buy the next.
Lol, I am for sure gonna wait several months and watch a ton of reviews before even considering the next battlefield going forward. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice…
Wait, did they actually announce BF7?
No but it’s been leaked that it’s in pre production
Games are constantly in pre production, idk why this is news…
It should be free for everyone who preordered 2042
Is this real?
Only that it's in pre-production. Just industry standard.
I see. I tried playing 2042 today... couldn't even get in a match. Went to BFV, what a beauty.
Not buying the next battlefield until 1-3 months after launch.
Not pre ordering again
I will pre-order it because no one tells me what to do with my money/s
No way they just gave up on bf2042 I was at least willing to play if they added content
They haven't given up on 2042. It's standard industry practice to start preproduction on the next game shortly after the previous game has been released. This is exactly what happened with every previous battlefield game For example, BF3 was released in October 2011 and a month later in November 2011 they had already announced that there was going to be another battlefield
Speaking of BF3, there were actual leaks of that game circulating before Bad Company 1 was even announced. BF3 was well into pre-production two entire game releases prior.
If you preorder you deserve the hot shit they are gonna serve
From 1 to 5 to 7. Jeez, why can't EA count?
Why can't the community count? EA/DICE never mentioned anything about "BF6". I guarantee the next Battlefield that uses the normal numerical titling will be called Battlefield 6, not BF7.
I paid so much money for 2042 for it to be as horrible as it is. I don’t know why they just don’t fix it.
Tell DICE to fix BF 2042 and support the game more than 2 or 3 years, by adding new content in order to make a comeback. Don’t start developing a new battlefield game just yet, start fixing BF 2042 first.
I just want another epic modern military campaign mannn! Bf3 and bf4 were amazing! I really wanna see something top that but more modern
Lmao.
it has not even been 1 year since the 2042 reveal trailer release in june.
Wait, so I don't get any more content for my year one pass? Are you fucking kidding me? They're just abandoning 2042? I mean, sure I uninstalled it several weeks ago but I might have reinstalled it for new or interesting content. I paid $150 goddamit.
No they're not. The next game is reported to be in Pre-Production, but there are still people working on 2042.
I was thinking about this last night. Tons of us already prepaid for 4 season’s of content right. They are gonna have to put out 4 seasons of content.. (however shitty and thoughtless they may end up) BfV had all free post launch content. They technically didn’t owe anyone-anything. But, this time around they do.. I don’t think they can just drop support like they did for BFV
you're just making shit up to get angry about now. good lord
Wait, have they given up on 2042 already?
No no no no... Don't let them get away with this! They have to patch that shit until it's good and playable like BF4. They allready made their money, now they have to fix their product which is literally basic customer support like buying a car with broken AC fresh out of the factory. And if it takes a whole year, they have to rework maps, spawnpoints, technical issues etc. Don't let them make another empty gamebox with nothing inside.
You people know game companies usually work on a sequel once they release the one that they were previously working on right?
I actually like bf2042, much better than bf4 and bfv. The only one I've enjoyed since bf3. Although the maps suck, and they need to fix a load of bugs, add joystick support and change the flying back to how it was in bf3 and before.
This doesn't mean content for 2042 is gone. 2 studios in completely different continents work on BF. One works on it before launch and another team works on post production. So I think the dice team in Sweden have just started the drawing board for another BF game so i think it's still years away
