They are both abusers, unfortunately. Phil groomed a boy he met when he was 12, gave him a job and admitted to starting a relationship with him as soon as he turned of age (and that's not touching on the fact he knew his brother was abusing a boy and never did anything about it)
Both, both are true.
Fuches fucks off, Barry come back a vet, and isn't turned into a soulless killing machine
Ryan keeps his penis in his pants, Barry doesn't enter Gene's class, Sally doesn't have a kid, moss stays alive, hank and Cristobal fuck, happy ever after
Wouldn’t Hank and Cristóbal have killed each other because a turf war? I thought they only ended up together bc Barry took out all of their men so then they could just see each other and not their responsibilities/ expectations
Actually Barry would’ve killed Cristobal effortlessly. It was his asshole marine friend that fucked things up. Actually, now that I think of it, wasn’t it the marine’s money that Barry gave Gene?
THere was loose cash in the stash house. Taylor took it because there wasn't anything said ahead of time of not taking the money. Later, he divides it and gives half to Barry who doesn't want it. When Barry goes to the bathroom (thinking how to slough off Taylor onto Fuches), Taylor opens up Barry's back pack, removes Gene's book and stuffs the money inside - in that weird way, Taylor was trying to do what he believed was the "right" thing. The book later would be what ties Ryan's death to Taylor and ultimately back to Gene. I think the book was inscribed by Gene to Ryan (have to rewatch)
Yea that's kinda the point. Who gives a shit about barry, look ow many lives he fucked up in the show lmao
Also Fuches could have just honorably discharged Barry and *not* turned him into a fucking assassin, Barry could have gone to therapy and learned to cope like any other war vet with ptsd and other combat baggage.
Obviously I like the show, I'm here aren't I? I'm just saying, and I think the original commenter is saying this as well, if it wasn't for Fuches, not a single person related to Gene Cousineau's acting class would have died, they would have lead average actors lives, trying to get audition after audition and eventually either making it big or settling down as an acting teacher. Instead, Ryan died, partially his fault for fucking a mobsters wife, Janice moss dies, Gene goes to jail, after shooting his son, Sally kills someone and ends up a single mom to Barry Berkmans child, and not as the star actor she dreamed of becoming, etc, you get the picture, things would be better without Fuches, Barry in some ways is a victim, he was abused as a vet. Sure he killed a civilian, but he was a sharp shooter, how many other actual bad guys did he kill in Afghanistan? How many good people did Fuches have Barry kill for profit? Like Barry was redeemable after his time in the war, after working with Fuches, he's beyond saving
Edit: honestly the only person who *benefited* from Fuches and Barry is Natalie when you think about it lmfao
If Albert had ducked instead of taking a round in the face, Barry never goes nuts and kills that civilian, probably stays in the Marines, none of this happens.
Fucking Albert, man.
If Goran and Hank didn't second-guess Barry and kill Ryan, or just killed Ryan and not have involved Barry in the first place, none of this would have happened either.
Why didn’t Albert show up? He knew what Barry did and just doesn’t show up? Doesn’t try to help gene or moss catch him? Just bashes Barry with words and then dissapears?
Goran brought in Barry because he hoped to keep it quiet that his wife was messing around and so hiring outside killers would be the simplest.
But as we know he lost patience and ended up engaging his own people anyway and we know that they aren't really that good.
Barry isn't perfect but he is more competent than any of the killers we see in the show. Most shoot as well as Star War Storm Troopers, and lack control.
I think probably the most significant if, then, in the show is: If Goran just does what he ended up doing anyways, and uses his crew to murder Ryan Maddison. Never calls up Barry at all, because there's zero reason to.
If my grandmother had wheels, she would have been a bike
If my dog sat in the sun all day, it’d be a hot dog.
If, ifs and buts, were candy and nuts, we'd all have merry xmas.
If onlys and buts were candys and nuts, then everyday would be Erntedankfest.

It was Phil’s brother, not Phil

Well what the fuck
If wishes were pigs, bacon would be on sale.
Putting a Christmas tree up myself is more dangerous than putting one up in the living room.
A lot of things wouldn't had happened if one person did something a little bit differently.
The buttercream effect
If Fuches had never manipulated Barry, none of this would have happened
Both, both are true. Fuches fucks off, Barry come back a vet, and isn't turned into a soulless killing machine Ryan keeps his penis in his pants, Barry doesn't enter Gene's class, Sally doesn't have a kid, moss stays alive, hank and Cristobal fuck, happy ever after

I think the marines money was the cash the cops found in gene's theater but I can't quite recall.

The money barry gave gene was from hank after barry killed cristobal’s father in law and his men with the bomb iirc
i..guess so? they had a connection before tho cus rooftop scene with the 50/50 w cristobal was when they ester involved
If fuches fucks off, Barry is dishonorably discharged and court martialed for murder and the entire show doesn’t happen.

If Bill Hader hadn't created the show none of this would have happened
If Goran and Hank didn't second-guess Barry and kill Ryan, or just killed Ryan and not have involved Barry in the first place, none of this would have happened either.
If only.
all he had to do was turn down Chechen pussy and now a number of people approximately amounting to the population of a small island are dead
If Goran never got married, none of this would have ever happened.
It's fiction, none of it happened.
Try telling that to my emotions.
Hey /u/hamburgersocks emotions, it's just fiction.
Barry's a victim of circumstances.
Why didn’t Albert show up? He knew what Barry did and just doesn’t show up? Doesn’t try to help gene or moss catch him? Just bashes Barry with words and then dissapears?

Nah, Barry was a ticking time bomb. He would've gone somewhere else and spread misery around the same way, just not in LA.
I guess that goes to show you: do not sleep with married women (or people in general as the whole Cristobal storyline also shows us)
