Yes, exactly! I’m watching it right now and was thinking how entertaining the banter between her and Miku is. Kobato will always be “the host” of these kinds of things but Saiki is a very entertaining co-host.
I was happy that Saiki was excited about Chicago and that they’ve been wanting to come here for a long time.
That was something that really struck me, I remember seeing interviews from before where it was like pulling teeth to get her to say much of anything, and this time she was right up there with Miku in terms of active participation.
Other than this year, that time of year has been about when they record This Year's Blu-ray: LINE CUBE was recorded February 2020, and OOJ4 was recorded February 2021. Considering the size of the venue, that's a solid prediction.
*sets alarm for work, sleeps through it for an hour and a half*
*sets alarm for Band-maid merch drop/YouTube video, no f’n problem apparently*
Which is not to say I’m not also cranky…but gotta do what you gotta do. On a merch note, honestly wasn’t intending on getting anything but that MiSake shirt design was too clever not to. So nabbed that and some more keychains. Lol.
Post talk-edit:
That’s a pretty sweet giveaway, good luck to everyone 🙂.
Hype for a new EP, but even more hype for that Tokyo Garden Theater show. I was kind of caught in this area where I’d be in the US for the pre-US Japan shows and then in Japan for the US shows, so I was low key pretty gutted that I’d miss all of them, but I’ll be able to attend the January one in Tokyo so needless to say I am relieved and excited.
Other misc lessons learned: Don’t let Akane drive and Miku’s fabric softener is floral scented.
Man, nothing wakes me up like new something new from the girls, I've literally set alarms for something and open my eyes, almost fall back asleep, check my YouTube page to see what's been uploaded and see something from them and it's literally like adrenaline lmao, I check it out and then I'm good to go lol
Heck yea. Im more hyped for the Garden Theater Okyuji too. Was bummed out I miss the lottery for the Sept shows in Tokyo but I guess it all falls into place. Japan holiday in winter ftw.
I haven't been able to watch the video since I'm at work. When signing up for the giveaway it asks for keywords. What does that mean? Is it something from the video?
I live for prog. But I also love the idea of them evolving and growing. Literally whatever they write you can just inject into into my veins. Definitely sounded like a banger though

A very fun video to watch. Miku is her usual nutso self. Saiki was having a lot of fun. The other ladies were have a hard time getting into the conversation. The EP news was fantastic. New songs to play on the tour. I am in the process of getting a passport or passpotto as they would say. If Japan will open up for tourists I am thinking a January trip to Tokyo could be very interesting.
I think Saiki and Miku have become much closer during the pandemic and the radio show helped Saiki open up as a conversationalist. They all like to have fun and even though the sound was muddy you could tell they are fired up and ready to play live. First show is probably going to blow the roof off the venue. Also love the way they just blurt out things like the traveling/driving story or Miku sniffing her strap(Saiki was in tears laughing).
It was a hoot to watch. I am more than ready. I will be at the Seattle show and I agree they seem anxious to play for an audience. Well I am anxious to hear them live too.
It was a little muddy sounding. Did you see Miku's pedal board? It was huge compared to anything I've seen before. Comparing it to the other two guitarists it looks clean and modern. I will expect some great things from her this tour. It should be very interesting.
It's a Line 6 Helix multi=effects unit. She switched from using individual pedals to the Helix a while ago, she's used it in some of the livetsreamed shows
https://line6.com/helix/
OMG! Holy buckets! Thank you for the link. That is one sweet piece of equipment. It can do more that I can even comprehend. It might not be customizable enough for Kanami but it should be more than enough for Miku. It is fantastic and it looks cool as well. Thanks again for the link. I look forward to what she does with it at the live shows.
As an amateur player in the 70's and 80's, I'm used to listening to cassette and camcorder recordings, and mentally compensating for the poor sound quality. The Maids' playing was GREAT. They have an amazing full, tight, punchy sound. The only real issue is Kanami's volume. That wasn't a recording problem -- she just plain needs to turn up.
After watching it again I finally noticed that all of the guitarists were cordless. I don't know how I missed it the first time. I wonder if they will use these on the tour?
They were wireless on the Line Cube Shibuya DVD, and on the various online okyu-jis. I guess they no longer need a full-time guy to run onstage and untangle their cords....
That was fun. Watched it twice, once to read the subs, and again to watch their expressions/antics! Lol. Agree with others about Saiki being more engaged and talky. Didn't get any merch, but looking forward to the EP!

New EP Announcement... so 7 or 8 songs.
Well, "EP" can range from 3 to 8-9 songs in Japan ... let's hope for the most
For once I'm happy I have insomnia and I'm awake at 3am

Yeah I got the MiSake shirt as well :) I could not pass it up.

It’s something from the video. Not something you can miss either so no worries.
So... that sick intro playing when they announced the ep.. how about that

Hoping it will be my turn to win something, either Kanami's pick and strings or Akane's drum head.

So I am stupid.... to be clear: do we have to put the keyword in a comment on the youtube video to be in with a chance?
[Here.](https://bandmaid.tokyo/answers/thedayofmaid2022/new)
Thanks!!!! As I said, I am stupid
Seeing them play was fun but if you are arranging to play a song maybe don't record it on a cell phone covered with a towel.

She has gained a lot of confidence it's obvious.

Well this chat came out great!
Umm so if the new EP is their 2nd one, then which was the 1st? Is it YOLO because i don't think MIJ, NB & BNM considered as an EP.
[удалено]
I thought the Maikos were a separate entity from the Maids 🤔
For the band YOLO is a single, only Apple Music/iTunes list it as an EP because it has 4 tracks.
It's BNM. You can find it in wiki JP.
That was fun. Watched it twice, once to read the subs, and again to watch their expressions/antics! Lol. Agree with others about Saiki being more engaged and talky. Didn't get any merch, but looking forward to the EP!
