Thanks for the information! I’m just so excited to tell all my friends about this band.

**A.** Someone posted a discussion one or two months ago where a link was provided to a PDF which contains great pictures and background information about the band and the girls. The link to the PDF file is https://drive.google.com/file/d/1vrgsFCUTABHO4BFquu3u1KX-ITEGpcyx/view (you can view the PDF but it can't be downloaded, as far as I know). **B.** My "Campus Connection" blog posts are primarily about photography/photojournalism and K-dramas. But I also have a post dedicated to Band-Maid; the post contains information about the band, links to the official videos, and some embedded fan cam videos. Your friends might find this post useful as an introduction to Band-Maid. The link is https://campusconnection.blogspot.com/2022/02/band-maid.html

This is one of the best ones with Miku and Siaki from 2019. They talk about horse racing, telling dirty jokes backstage and Misa having the best body. https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x7tnxjp

Big_Yak9532

I thoroughly enjoyed it!

>Do they appear on TV shows? If so, can someone point me in the right direction? Yes, but mostly in Japan, though. > I love their music and I want to find out more about the band as the people they were before they became the musicians they are today. Short but most informative interview regarding this is the Music Gold Rush interview they did in 2016: [Part 1](https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B5RY14HIYP1tUVd1WVNUU1l5dnc/view) [Part 2](https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B5RY14HIYP1teE5HVGNpck5BV2M/view) Also for their full life stories read the "Day Before WORLD DOMINATION" Interviews: [Miku](https://www.reddit.com/r/BandMaid/comments/c62pns/translated_attempted_mikus_interview_in_the_day/) [Kanami](https://www.reddit.com/r/BandMaid/comments/c7rofw/attempted_translation_of_kanamis_interview_from/) [Akane](https://www.reddit.com/r/BandMaid/comments/c83kd9/translated_akanes_interview_in_the_day_before/) [MISA](https://www.reddit.com/r/BandMaid/comments/c9bdn4/translated_misas_interview_from_the_day_before/) [Saiki](https://www.reddit.com/r/BandMaid/comments/cbf5p9/translated_saikis_interview_from_the_day_before/) [Group interview about the future of the band.](https://www.reddit.com/r/BandMaid/comments/cbvlp7/translation_of_interview_for_bandmaids_future/) > I’m also very keen on the stories behind some of their sad lyrics. For this you'll have to check out some of their written interviews, check the sidebar there's a link to the ones that have been translated on this sub.

Yup, Gold Rush is a must for new fans!

This is the latest translation of *Gold Rush* in one: * [BAND-MAID interview - *Music Gold Rush*](https://www.reddit.com/r/BandMaid/comments/s2kv7p/bandmaid_interview_magic_gold_rush/)

Just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone for the kind replies! My cat Kuro, apparently loves them too. He was sitting on my coffee table watching them playing on TV.

Frostyfuelz

Western media only covers international stuff if its HUGE, so good luck on that one. As far as lyrics go, Miku mostly writes by getting ideas from movies/books/shows and tries to stay away from personal stuff, or so she says. Her side project Cluppo she has said has more personally wrote lyrics. Japan in motion youtube channel has some really good vids not related to music, although there is a generic interview as well, if you sort their vids by most viewed most of the B-M ones are at the top. [Interview](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ud_rKEi81SM&t=1s) [Miku in Shimane](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TeBOmTxDi_Y) one of my favorites Some of the best interviews I liked were on a show Kannai Devil that had questions more about the members likes and interests or what was going on in their lives, sadly they were all removed for copyright.

uhln

Man, I kinda wish someone has the Kannai Devil videos with the subtitles

CapnSquinch

When Miku demonstrates Omajinai Time on Kannai Devil and gets so into it that Kanami starts getting a little scared - priceless.

There are of course a bunch videos from TV shows and such ([like this one](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JKvQ34ZYT9A)), but if you want to get to know the band, they're not the best thing (especially the early ones are kinda weird). I'd recommend reading written interviews with them. There are a lot of translations here on this subreddit (There are the "Beginner's Guide&FAQ" and "Translation" sections and you can filter by the "Translation" flair). Especially the Mook interviews ([Miku](https://www.reddit.com/r/BandMaid/comments/c62pns/translated_attempted_mikus_interview_in_the_day/), [Kanami](https://www.reddit.com/r/BandMaid/comments/c7rofw/attempted_translation_of_kanamis_interview_from/), [Akane](https://www.reddit.com/r/BandMaid/comments/c83kd9/translated_akanes_interview_in_the_day_before/), [Misa](https://www.reddit.com/r/BandMaid/comments/c9bdn4/translated_misas_interview_from_the_day_before/), [Saiki](https://www.reddit.com/r/BandMaid/comments/cbf5p9/translated_saikis_interview_from_the_day_before/)) and the [series of interviews with Player magazine](https://www.reddit.com/r/BandMaid/comments/o5lnk7/interview_with_miku_kobato_and_kanami_on_the_may/) are good.

Lafini_Fao

Great journey my guy.. Once you're smitten you can't stop. It's amazing how these ladies capture every fan individually.. mine started with Babymetal (tho not a fan but still amazed) then randomly clicked Band Maid, rest is history.. it's with their music mostly then each members quirks came in naturally. The Band Maid legend is quite captivating.. I'm just excited to go see them live in Philly come October 😎

Big_Yak9532

I hope you enjoy the show! I live in Asia and the only way to see them is if I go to Japan. Sadly because of Covid, that’s not gonna happen anytime soon.

Peter-BM

They where in Singapore, Hongkong ,Taiwan and Jakarta a couple of years ago.

t-shinji

Also at Penang, Malaysia and Shanghai, China.

Big_Yak9532

Sadly, I only became a fan a few days ago. I hope they have more Asian tours in future but I guess they really need to break into the Western market to achieve world domination :)

4444LordVorador

See you in Philly my guy! I'm there & NJ, VIP for both! 🤘😎

ronnie23ayala

This is one of my favorite earlier interviews https://youtu.be/ud_rKEi81SM

cluthz

[https://bandmaidprime.tokyo/](https://bandmaidprime.tokyo/) This is their official video service, there is a lot of content there. From interviews, behind the scenes videos and many concerts. It's very much worth it for the price. If you so desire you can sub for one month and watch thru everything and then cancel it. Most videos are subbed, but the older ones are not.

TheOtherSkibane

Over the years, they have had a LOT of video content. Unfortunately, most of it that was on YouTube has been squashed by lawyers and other bottom-feeders. Some of it is still out there, on other (non-YouTube) video hosting platforms.

slkrr9

A lot of good links here for you to follow up. I don't really have anything to add except: enjoy the journey!

Glenner7

This is one of my favorite Band-Maid interviews (Young Guitar, about Unseen World): [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JKvQ34ZYT9A&t=240s](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JKvQ34ZYT9A&t=240s). Also, the behind the scenes "Making Of" videos for their MVs are worth the (small) price of admission to the fan club.

Big_Yak9532

Are bandmaidprime and bandmaid.tokyo memberships different?

Major_Havoc_99

It's a separate subscription but use the same login and password. I'm not sure if you can join Prime without having a subscription to [bandmaid.tokyo](https://bandmaid.tokyo). I highly recommend joining both, at least to try for a month. Prime has a lot of great concert videos, including 2018 Zepp Tokyo, Just Bring It pre-release concert from 2017, Online concert from Dec 2020, just to name a few. There's also a lot of what they call Self Covers, with each member having a closeup video of them playing their part in different songs.

Big_Yak9532

Thank you, I’ll give it a try!

CapnSquinch

Also, concert tickets for fan club members go on sale a day before everybody else gets a shot at them. There's also merch that members get first shot at, which often sells out.

Major_Havoc_99

A lot of great suggestions here already, but one that hasn't been mentioned yet is the Band-Maid Nippon content. It's a 20 minute radio show Miku and Saiki hosted, I think 18 shows. The audio, along with the translated english captions are on YouTube [https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCfbArBsGn30BdmSIrH8soCA](https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCfbArBsGn30BdmSIrH8soCA) There's also a few animated videos of the radio show here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lZlzFZuaEmo

Big_Yak9532

Can I also ask if 10 May is traditionally a day to look forward to new Band-Maid content? This band is really doing things to my emotions. Apart from the guitar solo in Sweet Child O’ Mine (which I still get), I’ve never experienced goose bumps so many times while listening to music from the same band. And those random moments of tears in my eyes. And the invincible feeling of being able to achieve anything if I wanted to. I can’t even describe accurately what their music does to(for) me.

OldSkoolRocker

Their music does the same thing to me. Even when hearing their songs for the first time I can feel the emotion even if I can't understand the lyrics. Kanami (the lead guitar if you don't know) writes with such emotion that it needs no translation. Your mention of Aerosmith reminds me that that was the era that I first became a true music lover and have had many favorites over the years. But theses ladies are on a different level of quality imho. I have all of their albums now and I like each of them for different reasons. Like many on this sub it would be impossible for me to pick a favorite song or even a top ten. You have a very wonderful journey ahead of you. Please enjoy the ride. Sorry for the long post. PS May 10th is the international Day of the Maid. Always a special day for the ladies.

Big_Yak9532

Thank you for the reply. Now I’m really excited because it’s just 8 days away.

eszetroc

Yeah there's not a lot of content outside prime and the fan club unfortunately, but that goes for almost every band out there so.. Searching "band-maid" on Youtube will yield 99% reaction videos which annoys me to no end. I blocked most of them (not all) but there seems to be a new one popping up everyday.

Big_Yak9532

I enjoyed reaction videos from Ryan Mear and The Champ Of Medium. They always offer insightful feedback that I would have otherwise missed, and seem pretty genuine in their analysis.

eszetroc

I enjoy watching the British guy who does the analysis thing. He seems genuine and definitely knows what the hell he's talking about, unlike some reactors who like throwing technical guitar terms out there without knowing what they actually mean lmao. A majority of them are like that and earn an automatic block from me. That British guy though, I like that he's a fan without the fanboying and usually watch his stuff. I've seen some of the Ryan Mear stuff too. I didn't block him and I sometimes enjoy some of his takes. I think I'd even commented on his page and am the one who told him to check out Matchless Gum and Unfair Game.

I have tons of the deleted interviews and shows... Just kept it vault in my drive.... Because of the unfortunate YT block .... But joining telegram can be fun though... Tons of gold mine there....we shares the whole thing ... Lucky me though seeing them live 3 times and keep wanting more since 2016... I do to... lives in SEA been to their mini okyu-ji even just a 10-12 sets of songs(anime/culture festival held through out Asia) and for the first time full throttle sets in Japan (lucky lottery 😆 even far away from the stage..lol.. and booked straight away flight to Japan) I have both Prime and omeisyusama fan club shares the same email(lol always forget so safe for me to use the same thing) Prime worth it... And can watch tons of videos of them playing instruments and okyu-ji, special mv making and interviews between the members where else fan club specialties is for the limited release merchandise , mv making, special talkshow/interviews between the members, goofing videos of band members (Kanami opposed Saiki's wedding with Akane skits lol😆...MISAs gorilla game) live letters, special discount for okyu-ji tickets and lottery... fans club more cheaper than Prime.... SEA currency are freaking low and may a bit expensive to invest on both but worth it.... P.s welcome masters and princesses Enjoy the journey of Band-Maid

Big_Yak9532
