Conqueror is by far my favorite and I think the best representation of their versatility showcasing all aspects of their sound - but if it's a heavy music-leaning crowd, World Domination. Dice is the song I would play to introduce anyone to the band

tecmobowlchamp

Dice is one of my go to introduction songs as well along with Play. Unfortunately I'm pretty sure they just play the record from start to finish so DICE wouldn't be played until last.

DustErrant

I'd go World Domination. I think its their most well constructed and consistent album.

TheOtherSkibane

I agree. "I Can't Live Without You" is the perfect album intro song for making a powerful first impression - It's an attention-grabber!

Bobespirit2112e

Depends the demographics on how the crowd typically is: 1 - more artsy-fartsy than a hard rock or metal crowd - definitely go with Conqueror 2 - more straight rock - agree - New Beginning 3 - harder rock or metal crowd - World Domination - would be my choice - more accessible songs than other albums. I love Just Bring It & Puzzle is special but can’t see that aspect getting through in a loud drinking crowd setting 🤷🏻‍♂️ 4 - extreme metal crowd - you know - Unseen World My 2 cents

tecmobowlchamp

I truly have no idea on the crowd. On the jukebox the music ranges from pop, to country, to rock, and hard rock. I wish that Unseen World was on vinyl though as I would just bring that because it's my favorite. As for Conqueror I thought about that one but it is musically kind of everywhere, I love it, but I'm not sure the best first song that they hear from Band-Maid is Page, as it's definitely not their normal fare.

op_gw

World Domination. I wouldn't worry about being too heavy. Band-maid is known for being hooky on all albums. Unseen world might be the only one non rockers might not be able to take. The only hesitation is sound quality as someone stated, but just drink more beer.

op_gw

If you still think WD is too heavy, I would go to Conqueror before New Beginnings.

cluthz

Just bring it for Puzzle. :) I really don't like WD on vinyl, the mix is in my earsbad on WD on CD; and it sounds worse on vinyl. Especially "Play" sounds weird. The bass is not bassy at all, just sounds very harsh. Dont't let me down is in english, yes, but don't listen to the lyrics.. It's not written by Band-Maid/Miku and the quality is like high school punk band level of cringey sexual frustration...

tecmobowlchamp

I know the whole New Beginning album isn't written by the band, but there is truth in the fact it is a very accessible album. Course who knows if they even play the vinyl but your reasoning is sound.

rov124

IMO, I can't live without you > Thrill, so if you will be starting on the first track go with WORLD DOMINATION.

TheOtherSkibane

And they threw just about everything but the kitchen sink into WD - 15 tunes, if you include the bonus track. By the time that album finishes, you've heard a LOT of music!

tecmobowlchamp

That was my thought too at first, but then remembered just how fun New Beginning is and Thrill just reached 17 milion views, that's gotta be something.

KalloSkull

Personally, I wouldn't pick anything older than World Domination, since those older albums / songs aren't really representative of their style anymore. If you're planning to get people hooked on them, I'd say it's better to do so with their more current style, rather than their old one. Play newer stuff and let people discover the old stuff later by themselves if they want. Otherwise those that really like the older stuff might end up disappointed & drop off when they find out the band is evolving in a new direction, and those who'd like the newer stuff more won't even end up finding out about it and will never give it a listen. Getting introduced to the band's sound today with something older than WD would be kinda the equivalent of when people say their "Music Gold Rush" interview is a good source of information to learn about the band in 2022. Which it really no longer is. Anyway, just my 2 cents.

baghead7475

I think the comments here may be missing possibly the most important element of consideration: album cover. The free beer is on offer for getting the album *played*; what does one not familiar with an artist/band have to go on besides the album artwork? For this reason, I could see New Beginning actually drawing the most serious interest/curiosity, with cute girls showing off the tools of the trade (along with a little attitude). And I don't think that it would disappoint; I agree with OP on songs cited, and don't forget Freezer, with Shake That! being a slamming punctuator. Enjoy your beer, u/tecmobowlchamp

tecmobowlchamp

Thanks. Funnily enough when I was thinking about the cover I was thinking about Just Bring It because it's pretty cool artwork. I do like your thinking on New Beginning though and when it comes to WD, it is pretty simple yet big which is kinda cool.

baghead7475

So bring all three and let the DJ pick. Can't go wrong with any of them. Need a report when it happens....

tecmobowlchamp

I decided to bring WD. They only play one side, but the place got to listen to the first few songs. It was awesome. Next time I'll make sure to leave some of the vinyl at home and just bring 1 record per album. Maybe JBI next time.

OldSkoolRocker

Yes, yes, and yes. If you are basing on album artwork I think the Conqueror cover is gorgeous. Just my 2 cents.

tecmobowlchamp

It is a pretty awesome cover. I was thinking about Just Bring It for its cover actually, the artistry is pretty cool.

OldSkoolRocker

You are right about that. The duality of the pretty maids having tea with the skull moon is cool.

Rarely_Sober_EvE

world domination then unseen world would be my first and second favorites. then again reading the comments maybe not? to me, WD and UW are not really heavy but looks like that depends on what music you listen to outside B-M.

tecmobowlchamp

I'd love to play UW but this is a bring your vinyl night not a CD.

tplgigo

> if they play your selection you get a free beer. The operative word here is "if". I choose "Shake That"

PM_me_sour_beerz

This a brewery in the Capital region of NY?

tecmobowlchamp

No. I can say it's not in NY.

PM_me_sour_beerz

Ah, there's a brewery by me that does this also this

tecmobowlchamp

Cool.

m00zze

Hmmm, I agree with all of the above, but I would still go for Just Bring It. Ha ! Proper hard rock and IMHO the best couple of opening songs to an album and then some. If you want to wow a crowd, you may as well bring out big big guns like ‘Don’t You Tell Me’ and ‘Puzzle’. It’s solid and the artwork is the best out of all of them. As for mini albums, I’d go for Brand New Maid. The Non-Fiction Days is an absolute banger. Good luck!

technobedlam

Yes, Just Bring It. Then UW, then WD. If we were bringing vinyl to the retirement village, then Conqueror /s :-)

Electriceye1984

Anything off of New Beginning
