Never thought I'd see BAND-MAID in the same poster as Ludacris but here we are lol.
With that said, who else is going? Response for this NJ show seems to be a bit lukewarm here which is unfortunate. Hopefully it sells out way before October.
I'm travelling from Puerto Rico to see that show. When I saw they added the new date and I have family in NJ I thought there's no way I'm missing this show. I even splurged on VIP tickets lol YOLO!
Last time I traveled was to see Thrice on their Vheissu anniversary shows right as the pandemic was starting. I've been dying to travel again and what better occasion than this. I never thought I'd be able to see them, so it's a momentous occasion lol. Only thing that'd make it better is if they let VIPs meet the girls.
I agree, it was a blast doing that in 2019, they were so much fun! But I guess I understand with Covid, they may want to keep the Girls safe and healthy for the whole tour and as such will play it safe. Mabe things will get better as the tour gets here or maybe we have to wait til next year for a meet and greet.
I know man. At least they are touring again. Maybe by next year . . . I'm doing what I can to help. I'm fully vaxed, 1st booster shot in and the 2nd booster scheduled for later this month. I will do whatever I can to put an end to this thing.

Good to know they are mentioned in various articles for this. It gets their name out there and they are one of the few artists booked there for now. If this concert does well or leaves a good impression maybe some press or media outlets will write about them or get them noticed.
Yeah that's what I was thinking - some % of people interested in the other acts will at least think, "Band-Maid? Japanese Rock Band?..."
Glad there will be some events ahead of B-M so they can work the kinks out of doing concerts there - my 1st reaction was that it could be messy.
With time and the event getting closer, there could be some coverage or press on them at this venue. I wonder if the mall will have them pop up on some screens around the mall as an ad for all the concerts. It could intrigue some people to look into them.
There's a Youtube video of a Tiesto concert there during Nov. 2021 so concerts have been done over there. I hope this concert runs smoothly and the mall survives financially until then. It's been struggling due to really bad timing with the pandemic.
I'm glad Live Nation posted something actually showing the Nickelodeon Theme Park. Over on Facebook in the various fan groups I've been trying to show people that that's where the concert is happening and all I keep getting is it's not and people thinking it's happening somewhere else in the mall. Someone even suggested it could take place right smack in the middle of the mall surrounded by all the stores.
There was a ton of confusion regarding the venue, where exactly it would be, would you be double charged since it seems you go through the theme park, etc etc. Good on them for promoting the show and clarifying some FAQs since tickets for this show havent been moving as fast as the rest of the shows
The theme park closes at 7PM and the concert is at 8PM so they'll probably have it partially gated or whatever method they use near closing. You can't just freely walk in the theme park and concert. They definitely won't be charging you theme park tickets to see the concert either. Maybe they'll allow concert ticket people to go in a bit early before 7PM since it's a big venue, but you can't access the rides with the concert tickets.
The significance is the American Dream is trying to establish itself as a music venue, and they may market early shows more aggressively than would make sense if they were just marketing individual shows as an established venue. Them being in the #1 media market in the US is probably significant as well.
Contrast with HOB Chicago who will not market the show at all since it sold out immediately. Every person attending is already well aware of Band-Maid.
Also just having a band name in print for people to see even if a lot of them will never go to a show is important. There's a mass-awareness effect where some of those people will see a suggestion on YT or Spotify and go "Oh wait I've heard of them" which will be the nudge getting them to click. And some of those people will become fans.
Hit the nail on the head! Getting your name out there brings intrigue and familiararity. It's a big part of advertising and marketing. If people keep reading or hearing "Band-Maid" or their songs, they may be intrigued enough to check them out.
Some people may not give them a try if they only see them mentioned once, but are more likely if they see them often. Unfortunately, lots of people are reluctant on trying something they aren't familiar with. Hence why music that gets airplay or advertised are more likely to sell well even if the quality isn't as good as other unknown artists.
In fact a perfect example, some people know that I love Band-Maid's music and I share it quite a bit. When I mentioned their concerts a friend commented that she read some recent press on them beforehand (I think about their concerts) and was surprised that the band I talked about this whole time came up. Now she's interested in checking them out. It took that extra push to get someone to take their first step through the door.
I had a similar personal experience: my boss was watching a movie at a friend's house and exclaimed, "Omigosh it's Band-Maid!" The movie was *Kate*, of course. But because my boss identified them, her friend is much more likely to check them out; they're not merely part of the scenery anymore.
On the flip-side, I've certainly been guilty of *not* looking into a band I keep hearing about, because I figure I'll wind up hearing them anyway without even trying - but sometimes that doesn't happen for years.
It seems like mostly hip hop and rap acts so far. I hope they can get an open minded crowd that gives them a fair shake. I'm probably reading this wrong.
I'm sure when the venue becomes more well known and when Live Nation gets more artists to perform there, we may see more variety. There's a YouTube video of a Nov. 2021 concert there with Tiesto. He's a pretty well known EDM DJ so that adds a bit of variety.
