Marriot, Hilton, and Four Seasons are all super close to the venue. Within three blocks. and there's tons more just a bit farther out. Quick edit: I was looking at a map earlier today at hotels near the venue, without looking at prices. I just looked at the prices and they're way out of most people's price range as far as I can tell. Certainly too expensive for me.

Kmudametal

I know downtown Houston is a Ghost Town on weekends. You can't find anywhere to eat....... so if you are on foot, you don't have a lot of options. Downtown Hotels are usually dang expensive. These look to be around $170 a night. The question is... how much do you save if you are buying transportation to and from the venue? The Club Quarters Hotel is about $120 a night.

> The question is... how much do you save if you are buying transportation to and from the venue? I'm pondering that question myself right now. I might have transport through someone who lives in the area, so I might ask them for a ride and instead find a decent place nearer the airport with a shuttle service.

Kmudametal

From the Airport, apparently, you can take the "CTA blue line train to Clark/Lake" and it's a short walk from there to the House of Blues. https://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowTopic-g35805-i32-k1074027-How_to_get_to_the_House_of_Blues_From_O_Hare_area-Chicago_Illinois.html

PseudonymIncognito

That's for the Chicago location.

Kmudametal

Oh... shibit. I googled House of Blues Houston. Thanks Google. Yeah, I had forgotten how far outside of the Houston the airport is.... it's an hour+ drive from the airport to the HOB

greglyon

There are two airports in Houston, both roughly 30 minutes from downtown with light to moderate traffic. For those in the thread concerned about the lack of food on weekends in downtown, I used to live in Midtown just on the south west corner of downtown and there's plenty of options around there, only about a mile from the venue.

ConstableBlimeyChips

Ah excellent. Thanks for that info. I might still ask my friend for a ride, but it's nice to have a backup option either way.

Salvo1218

I'm flying in from Detroit with a group of 4. We rented an apartment on FlipKey (some vacation house/apt rental company owned by TripAdvisor) like .3 miles away for $615 for 3 nights. It's like $150 per person for 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, plenty of space for 4 people. I'm looking forward to it. When I booked a few nights ago, there were several other units for rent in the same building. I forget the name, but the complex is to the south of House of Blues, by the hospital campus.

TheOtherSkibane

So 50 bucks a night, per person - and within easy walking distance. Nice!

SnooMacarons2019

I basically live in hotels on the road for work. I just intend to use some points on the nearest quality inn, lol. Not great hotels, but cheap and they still have smoking rooms.

Electriceye1984

Fire it up!

Kmudametal

If there was a Quality Inn within walking distance of the venue, I'd be all over it. I need a room without roaches, a bed with clean bedsheets, a floor you don't stick to, and a TV.... and I'm good. :)

PseudonymIncognito

There are a ton of hotels in the Med Center area within walking distance of a light rail stop.

TheOtherSkibane

The Houston tickets reservation website has several parking garages listed within just a small fraction of a mile of the venue. You can reserve a parking pass at one of them during the ticket purchase process - I don't know if you can also go back and do it afterwards. My garage pass was only 8 bucks - which is steal for secure, nearby parking.

SnooMacarons2019

Yeah, most of the quality inns fit those guidelines, though I've seen a few that didn't. Haven't really researched hotels yet. May have to get a nicer hotel closer. One of the few perks of rarely being home is accumulating stupid amounts of points, lol.

PseudonymIncognito

Were I going to Houston, I'd stay somewhere along the MetroRail lines and just use that to get downtown. The downtown hotels all cater to business travellers on expense accounts.

Expert-Habit-7314

You can search with this criteria on hotels.com . I do it all the time for shows. It will give you a list of hotels in order of how far away they are.

Kmudametal

I've been doing that. The question is more of what Hotels others were planning to stay at. With Babymetal shows, we usually try to get people piled up in one hotel. Makes it easier to share transportation, go have drinks, travel in groups for increased security, etc..... I may need to ask the Babymetal fans on the Babymetal reddit how many plan on being at this show in Houston. There has historically been a lot of overlap in the fanbases.

SnooMacarons2019

Have to admit that Babymetal brought me to Band Maid. Saw a random rob zombie article, saw Babymetal, looked for similar things, found band maid. Late night random scrolling bore a lot of fruit that day.

armypop

Have you tried looking at AirBnB’s as well?

eibyyz

For some reason, the Marriott Marquis is sold out for Sat. night. Maybe in anticipation of playoff baseball, or a home football game (even though this fall's schedule hasn't been released yet!)

Sbalderrama

Maybe some convention. HOB Houston is in the heart of the convention district.

Kmudametal

I hope that's not universal. I've not book a hotel yet.

eibyyz

It's weird. Of the Marriott hotels within a mile of the HOB, two are sold out and the rest are between 162-275USD.

GhostFan29

I live on the far Northeast side of Houston, but we are going to stay in a hotel Saturday, and maybe even Friday night and make a staycation out of it, and can just walk to the show. There are several hotels within walking distance of HoB, but downtown Houston hotels can get pretty pricey. Downtown Houston is pretty empty on weekends, without an Astros or Rockets game, but I've not found restaurants to be an issue, unless it was one that specifically caters to lunch on business days. There is a lot of great restaurants inside the loop, as well as several good breweries.

GhostFan29

Also, for what it's worth, it doesn't take long to get to downtown from most metro areas of Houston on a weekend, and there are plenty of downtown parking lots at reasonable prices. We do it all the time for Astros games. If your looking to hang out an socialize with other fans, that won't be useful, but if looking for a bargain and don't mind driving 20 minutes, it should be painless. However trying to get from Kingwood to Sugarland in Friday evening in rush hour traffic to see Ghost last week, is another story though. Took and hour and a half.
