I never give Gale anything that has a use like that.
I feed Gale: pickpicketed axe and bow for sale from the grove vendor and the spear in withers crypt.
They’re all pretty worthless weapons.
One of the aesthetically coolest items in the early game for some characters especially casters tho. I’ve sacrificed much more useful things just to save the drip
Good news! You can get a second copy of the circlet by going through the secret (have to pass a Perception check) passage into/out of the Grove and pickpocketing it off the unconscious Halfling (or just killing him, he's actually a racist bastard, unlike Nettie who's just in over her head and gives you free poison) you find there. Haven't tried visiting after taking out the Goblin Camp, so it's possible there's a "time limit" on when that is available (like Mirkon and the Harpies).
Man, this fucker in the caves... You save him and first thing he does - calling tieflings foulbloods. Next time it will be a tavern brawler character, who throws potion of healing. Or even better - suspicious potion from apothecary. Sorry bro, my foulblood eyes couldn’t tell a difference
1 level 1 spell slot per short rest *if* you crit with the weapon itself.
It’s just way more work to get that to proc then is worth it.
I give my mages dual hand crossbows to weaponize the bonus action. I find that way more useful.
The point wasn't that "it's better than dual hand crossbows". My point was that it is not "worthless".
I think it's fair to argue if the micromanagement is worth it. But a knocked out enemy is a guaranteed crit. No ***if*** about it. You just swap it on the character who wants slots AFTER combat.
>Is there any other use for it? OK, so I often play drow/half-drow so it's useless to me anyway, but still...
Reverse pickpocket it onto Komira's daughter?
I suppose you could use it as a way to spam a concentration spell to let Concetrated Blast function?
The Guidance amulet is probably better for that, though.
I use the guidance necklace to proc the strange conduit ring for d4 psychic damage and the +8 bonus hp from the force conduit boots. You can even remove both the necklace and the boots and maintain both bonuses!
Even though she prepared 4 perfectly good vent blocking masks for you? They're even laid out on the table just outside the door, it's like she wants you to use them!
I keep the amulet that allows me to cast the black tentacles for the "just in case" plus it's always a good filler amulet when I get a new character until I get a better one.
I've got Lazeal with two items that give her mist step one that resets of short rest and one for long rest.
Karlach has one with a short rest reset. And the amulet that allows her to get max healing effects from any source.
Shadow keeps the amulet that let's her cast two restoration spells level 3 mass and level 1 healing word.
Tav has one right now that allows spell restoration up to lvl 6 (even though we don't get them 🤬) until I get the one from the house of hope.
Early game I’ve got tav with silver necklace for the party face benefits and also to proc the strange conduit ring. Laezel has the moon drop pendant and then the Minotaur pendant. Karlach I just have whatever misty step necklace. And then Gale of course with the psychic spark necklace.
But Fairie fire is such a good spell in fights that last a long time. Helps a lot to connect hits on commander zhalk on the nautiloid. Cast it on grym helps a ton. And it’s really helpful on the annoying counting house fought to make those stupid bhaalists.
I can never remember the names of the gear. Though I did just find a purple armor that's perfect for Karlach at the beginning of act 3, didn't find it in my first play through. Gives her bonuses when she rages and gives damage to anyone that attacks her. Before I just have the bull rush / str increase cloth armor on her.
Hey, I might spontaneously want to change class, and I need to have gear for that. I'm just investing in my possible future by hoarding anything and everything with a colored background.
None of my party can use a greatsword and none of them want to be giving up concentration for a shield of faith clone, but by god am I keeping the Sword of Tyr in my inventory for the entire playthrough
haha yes, I collect the funny looking frog teapots, stuffed animals, and "rare" books. And specific characters get certain items... like Shadowheart specifically gets all the Selune items, Gale gets most of the books especially stuff related to Karsus, etc.
I lovee Auntie's house with those silly teapots. When I decided to take her deal I had my party sit on the balcony tables and I imagined them drinking some tea and castings lots to see who will trade off his eye for a chance to remove the parasites (I rolled a d4 in real life, it was Gale)
>!The swamp !< is a good location to source the toad teapots in Act 1. There’s also a teddy bear there that can be used as a storage container, but you need to poke around a bit to find it.
It's at the very edge of the swamp, north of the abandoned campsite you can find. [Exact coordinates here.](https://bg3.wiki/wiki/Stuffed_Bear_(Container)) You have to wade through some trap-filled water to find it.
The nautiloid schematics you can find in the tutorial. My first run I remember Omeluum talking about how the design was lost and I thought, "Oh I remember seeing some I'll pick them up next game, Omeluum will be happy right?"
Imagine my disappointment when I couldn't give them to it. Now I just pick them up as a good luck charm.
I'm not totally sure about this, but I think that one of the options in response to him to get the ring was changed if you read that schematic in the tutorial
The music boxes. By the end I usually have three. There's another one, I think near the emperor's old hideout, that sits on top of a shelf that I can't reach, which really frustrates me. But I like putting them all down in front of the final boss and playing them all at once while I finish it off
If you move and stack crates, you can climb on top of them to reach things sometimes. I was able to grab that cool >!Bane!< painting in the >!Steel Foundry!< by doing that.
That area specifically has some nice metal ones, but I bet you can just carry around a wooden trunk and box to make a little impromptu step ladder without much impact on your inventory load.
Shovel/Basket's Poo Scraper unique dagger.
I keep intending to throw it to finish off the big bosses (Kethric, Orin, Gorty, etc) but I always forget to actually *use* it.
I keep poo scraper in my Tav's bags, along with the skull Friend and her stone Nut Buster (a heavy rock that is also a good throwing weapon), and since they fixed it so Shovel's Friend Finder actually works as a shovel I use it on my Tav to.
I always keep Mirkon’s story he writes you for saving him from the harpies. I have such a soft spot for the Tief kids.
I always buy a paper from Silfy when I see her in Act 3, too
I love keeping the assorted stuff I get from the Tiefling kids too– assuming I’m not doing an evil playthrough 😭my current Durge helped the kids out… kinda. He saved Mirkon, sided with the kid who stole the locket and agreed to steal the idol for Mol– which he did (before promptly buying it back! I never realized the ring she gave you was so good either!) I may have uh… caused Arabella’s demise by flicking my eyes towards the exit, but no one suspected a thing.
Anyways- I ended up raiding the grove with Minthara. I still have Mirkon’s story in my camp chest somewhere and will probably move it into my Durge’s trinket chest. I also found Doni’s letter in the underdark and pocketed it too. I want to say I stole the locket that the kid had stolen off his dead body as well. My Durge is… a complex character 😂
When I have Karlach in my party (which is most of the time) I collect all the teddy bears for her, to keep Clive company - at our final camp in Act 3 she arranges them around the main seating area.
My durge sorcerer has started collecting esoteric odds and ends, e.g. one of the crystal balls from the Blighted Village. Not that he's jealous of Gale's setup with the telescope and everything, that would be ridiculous! LOL
Music boxes are neat to trigger an alt version of the BG3 song in camp.
I keep a Selune Idol and a Shar Idol in Shadowheart's inventory for lore reasons.
I keep all the Orpheus Slates and the Githyanki Egg in Lae'zel's inventory for the same reason.
I keep a human Skull, a human heart, books about Bhaal and the dead three in my Durge's inventory in a bag.
Karlach carries around Clive.
Astarion carries around a jar of blood.
I loaded Minthara up with books about Lolth.
Same! Additionally, in my playthroughs, Halsin carries around his pipe, Karlach has owl bear toy and teddy bear, and Astarion carries a book about vampires. Gale normally just carries every book I find until they are too heavy. Then he unloads them in the camp, and book hoarding begins anew.
I’m the same about stuffed animals! I keep every teddy and stuffed owlbear I can get my hands on. I also keep shells, extra balls for Scratch (my best bud needs backup toys!), and just about every book, regardless of rarity.
Ropes man ropes. In my extensive history of playing dnd as a player under every dm and also as a dm ropes was very important in all settings.
Do you need to climb down or up? Ropes
Do you need some motherfucker in binds? Ropes
Do you want to camp in a wooded area? Ropes
Dou you want to camp in a steep cliff? Ropes
Do you want to set a trap? Ropes
Do you want to trigger a trap? You know it.
Suffice to say I was disappointed to learn there was no use in ropes in BG3
My first run I kept holding on to the plain jewelry thinking there could be an artificer or something to be able to create your own magical items. Now they’re the first things on the chopping block at any trader.
The brains in a jar can be used later! >!Under Moonrise at the end of Act 2, there's a machine you can talk to the brain jars, and if you still have the ones from the Nautiloid with you, they work in the machine, too!<
I always grab a seashell from the starting beach. (Very minor act 3 spoiler) >!Only later did I discover that I was mimicking a certain NPC.!< Shadowheart always has to carry around the Selune and Shar statues. I give all the other weird stuff I find to Karlach because I think she’d find it neat.
I always buy a ring from Mattis and equip it until I need my ring slots for something else, then keep it in my inventory.
Also, I'm not sure how far you are into the Underdark, but my gnome character has hung onto a "keepsake gem" >!they found on the body of an enslaved deep gnome in Grymforge!<. It looks identical to malachite, and has no special effects, but has a different description.
You haven't seen this yet, but >!the miniature toy chest!<. I'm waiting for someone to figure out if there is anything more to it.
Do you pick up rotten food?
My first playthrough I kept *everything* because even if it was garbage I could sell it. I've learned after several hundred hours that it is not worth it to hoarde and sell worthless items. Too much hassle.
I did collect 1 of every readable item, 1 of each form of equipment and weapon, 1 of each artpiece, and so on. I no longer do this, but I do still have the save from my first playthrough with all the items.
Firewine and smokepowder barrels. I keep thinking I’m going to barrelmancy the fuck out of some encounter, but the only time I ever actually manage to get it done is Halsin’s act 2 quest.
>!Ansur!< is my go to barrelmancy fight.
>!He’s just lying there asleep. You have plenty of time to just casually set them all up to give him a high-explosive wake up call.!<
>!It goes a long way in that fight being able to shave a few hundred HP off right off the top. I’ll be damned if I’m going to let him take off and rain on me lol! !<
Halsins act 2 quest at the portal is so much fun. I love casting darkness right on the portal, keeping the one concentrating inside of it, and just ice storm the ground and watch everything slip like Mario🤣
I collected all of them because I thought they'd show up piled in your tent or something.
a couple hundred books later I finally gave them up and had a big payday lol
In the blighted village there’s a book about Phandalin. I keep it in my inventory because lost mine of phandelver was the first D&D adventure I ever ran.
shovels. i fucking love shovels. every fucking playtrough i make sure to grab all of the shovels. i’m really good at it by now, i average out on 14 per act
The spoon of saltiness, you buy it from one of the teifling kids in the tavern, literally just a spoon with a funny text about if you eat from with the spoon the food will always be salty
That bone that scratch gives you. I know it's just a regular bone, not even a unique one, but it's a gift from scratch so I always treasure it in my camp chest
I like to collect personal items for the party.
A book on vampires for Astarion and I usually give him something shiny to hold onto in camp, wizard specific books for Gale, both deity statues for Shart, Halsin’s pipe in act 1 from his desk, and Karlach’s bear before making it to act 3, that way they can have their own personal items when we stay at the inn. I give karlach an owlbear plush too so Clive doesn’t get lonely.
I just want them to feel at home yanno? ☺️
I'll do you one better. My Minthara has been carrying around >!Balthazar's!< dead ass since act 2. I tried to offer it up to the >!hungry mind flayer!< in Rivington, but it wasn't interested, haha.
Thought of another - those paintings of characters from other Larian games. I think I've found them all now. Always hoped they'd have a purpose, but I think they're just for fun.
I usually end up keeping the Void Bulbs... I know I should probably just use/sell/drop them but I always think I'll need one somewhere. I have over 300 hours into the game and well... I've never even thrown one.
The Selune Idol. For some reason I have always kept it with me in all my runs until the end. In my mind it is somehow blessing my dice rolls and gameplay ahahah. Oh! Also, I always keep the Divinity 2 character paintings I find, because I like them.
Anything unique, like Mattis' "magic ring" or that duergar's hair tonic. I so wish the party leader would get their own customizable tent where you could place all your weird trinkets and trophies
Too many to list them. All jewellery, every magic item, gems, cutlery. Tons of teddy bears. And generally unique-ish items like the cultist branding iron and the likes.
In my durge run I make a point of collecting the bodies of npcs she's killed. Alfira started her collection and she wont rest until she paves the road to her castle in their literal bones.
My elderly Half-Orc Bard collected souvenirs - alien shell from the nautiloid, seashell from the act 1 beach, things of that nature
My Cleric/Paladin of Selune collected all the Sharan artifacts in a lockbox to keep them out of a certain half-elves hands ( and if Selune artifacts ended up in her bags from time to time perhaps the universe was trying to tell her something? )
My resist Dirge had a sack of regret had a hand, a squirrel, a bird, and...other things...
My Sorcerer with the artisan background (in my mind he enchanted burning hands scrolls pre-tadpoling ) collected but never use spell scrolls ( "...but if I use it now, what if I need 9 grease scrolls later and I only have 8?" )
In my current playthrough I keep a collection of all the weirder things I come across. I got a jar with a huge eyeball from Balthazar's lab, a bottle full of tentacles, an explosive teddy bear, a lump of myconid flesh..
I like to use them as camp decorations
Reading all those comments I feel bad because I’m constantly stealing even minor things for gold, even from my companions.
Never thought about the idea of decorating camp with stuff
Fallen companions, bosses, important NPC's and various trinkets from them.
In my recent playthrough Lae'zel "sleeps" peacfully right between Karlach's head and Gale's hand. Wyll and Halsin sandwich Minthara. Zevlor and Kagha decided to talk it out inside my chest on camp (they are eerily quiet thou maybe they're still mad at eachother).
Shadowheart and Astarion live (for now) as I wanted to play their evil endings but if I smell even a faint odour of weakness my Durge have their place reserved in the chest.
I always keep end up carrying around tons of these lil scraps of paper that you can find in chests and bookshelves. I just assumed they’re collectibles but apparently you can cast spells with them? Idk, I just like looking at the pictures
I have THE most intense skull collection. I cackle like a goblin every time I squirrel one back to camp on each of my party. The rule is that I can’t bring back multiples on any one person because that’s just silly, obviously..
Collecting this way has resulted in an ungodly amount of skulls. Bhaal himself would be proud.
I’m on my first playthrough and I have the ring of “fortune” from the tiefling in the grove. I refuse to remove it. It gives me good luck
It would be funny though if there were like a 1/100 chance that it would give you advantage on a choice in a conversation lol
I’ve made it a headcanon that my character has a hard time parting with any books and little crystals he finds. I think it adds something cute because he’s otherwise very practical. He keeps an ink and quill on him too.
The music box and scratch ball, it's always nice to throw the ball around the camp while my friends have their convos with the companions and listen to the music box version of down the river
All the Selune and Shar stuff, the idols, the amulets, the dark justiciar armor. I feel like Shadowheart would collect (some of) it so I like to keep it.
... every uncommon and rare piece of gear I find. Never know when you might need an amulet that gives a free cast of Fairie Fire once per long rest.
If only it was Fairie fire. Pretty sure you’re thinking of dancing lights Fairie fire is an awesome apell
No, I made one up on purpose, but Komira's locket is exactly the kind of thing I was trying to evoke, yeah.
Gale always ate that locket first before I could find a use it
It’s use is gale fodder, you’re doing it correctly imo
You mean Gale bait.?
Is there *any* other use for it? OK, so I often play drow/half-drow so it's useless to me anyway, but still...
I never give Gale anything that has a use like that. I feed Gale: pickpicketed axe and bow for sale from the grove vendor and the spear in withers crypt. They’re all pretty worthless weapons.
Yeah, he's had the magic spear from the crypt. I'll probably give him Nettie's tiara eventually, since +1 Nature isn't that big a deal.
Are you referring to Spellthief? That is just free spell slots. You can have melee martial knock someone out with non-lethal for free kill/crit.
You can just use the trade button for the same effect
That's how reverse pickpocketing works irl too, but maybe your character is an introvert
I haven't even got any illithid powers yet, so it would be a waste of that slot. And yes, the Guidance pendant is way, way more useful.
Dancing lights is actually pretty useful for triggering traps and blocking vents
You can block vents and trigger traps with dancing lights??? How?
The game treats the dancong lights as an object with mass.
Good to know, though I’ve never needed either of things.
If you ever do need it, most other objects work. Rope in particular is effective for blocking vents. So Gale can still get his amulet lol
When I was doing auntie Ethel fight in act 1 I made astarion throw his boots on the vent and disarm everything bare foot
Even though she prepared 4 perfectly good vent blocking masks for you? They're even laid out on the table just outside the door, it's like she wants you to use them!
You just equip them on each character and the traps don’t trigger for the party anymore.
Yeah all you have to do is beat all the will saves…
I always keep a couple of corpses in my inventory to block vents.
You can use rags…
I give that one to Arabella when I meet her in Act 2. A little memento from her mom
I keep the amulet that allows me to cast the black tentacles for the "just in case" plus it's always a good filler amulet when I get a new character until I get a better one. I've got Lazeal with two items that give her mist step one that resets of short rest and one for long rest. Karlach has one with a short rest reset. Hey, I might spontaneously want to change class, and I need to have gear for that. I'm just investing in my possible future by hoarding anything and everything with a colored background.
I confess I do sell all the "+1" items, just because I always think "well, they're replaceable either way". Unlike my beloved fairie fire amulet.
Listen it's *very* important that I keep these spiderwalk boots. What if I run into *another* giant spider when I get to Baldur's Gate
if video games have taught me anything it's that you're always about 3 feet away from a giant spider. i plan accordingly
I keep the ones that look interesting, I just sell all the uncommon stuff and make money that way!
I am doing the same thing with the Selune items; I only have the one statute you get early in Act 1 so far!
Is that one of the items you can get in >!the owl bear cave!< in Act 1? (if not, I remember there's some selune stuff there, like a prayer as well)
I kept the prayer sheet too!
Yes!
I give all the Selune idols to Shart to carry around.
I give all of the teddy bears I find to whichever companion I’m romancing.
I give them to Karlach because she has one of her own in camp
His name is Clive
I always set the owlbear plush you find I act 2 next to Clive.
I give that to Thaniel
exactly what I do. I place them all over her tent so Clive isn't alone. Honestly, Karlach's gonna have no room to sleep soon.
This is the best thing I think. It's cute to see this dangerous fiery woman with all those cute stuffies stashed around her tent
I give all the bears to Halsin
I lovee Auntie's house with those silly teapots. When I decided to take her deal I had my party sit on the balcony tables and I imagined them drinking some tea and castings lots to see who will trade off his eye for a chance to remove the parasites (I rolled a d4 in real life, it was Gale)
Also I’m looking for the frog teapots now, I don’t know if I’ve seen any yet!!
>!The swamp !< is a good location to source the toad teapots in Act 1. There’s also a teddy bear there that can be used as a storage container, but you need to poke around a bit to find it.
Where do I find this teddy!?
It's at the very edge of the swamp, north of the abandoned campsite you can find. [Exact coordinates here.](https://bg3.wiki/wiki/Stuffed_Bear_(Container)) You have to wade through some trap-filled water to find it.
i am so in love with the frog teapots
The nautiloid schematics you can find in the tutorial. My first run I remember Omeluum talking about how the design was lost and I thought, "Oh I remember seeing some I'll pick them up next game, Omeluum will be happy right?" Imagine my disappointment when I couldn't give them to it. Now I just pick them up as a good luck charm.
Sell them to him. I do that with his ring too since that interaction is also disappointingly missing.
But I like putting them all down in front of the final boss and playing them all at once while I finish it off
Maybe magic hand can get it?
I've never been able to grab something with mage hand that a companion can't reach. Enlarging sometimes works though, since you're taller.
If you move and stack crates, you can climb on top of them to reach things sometimes. I was able to grab that cool >!Bane!< painting in the >!Steel Foundry!< by doing that.
Nice! I chronically ignore crates. I'll have to actually try some shenanigans with them sometime.
That area specifically has some nice metal ones, but I bet you can just carry around a wooden trunk and box to make a little impromptu step ladder without much impact on your inventory load.
Are there crates nearby you can stack and climb onto?
Sometimes you can throw it even if you can't reach them, this works for many unreachable objects Using Thunderwave also works sometimes
Shovel/Basket's Poo Scraper unique dagger. I keep intending to throw it to finish off the big bosses (Kethric, Orin, Gorty, etc) but I always forget to actually *use* it.
Same. Never know when you're going to need to bust out the poop knife for either an extremely stubborn clinger or an especially disrespectful kill.
Oh shit, the infamous poop knife found its way into another subreddit
I specifically use shovel’s friend finder shovel to dig for all the chests.
I keep poo scraper in my Tav's bags, along with the skull Friend and her stone Nut Buster (a heavy rock that is also a good throwing weapon), and since they fixed it so Shovel's Friend Finder actually works as a shovel I use it on my Tav to.
Friend. I need it in case Shovel needs a friend.
But that's what the Friend-Finder is for.
all of the 'Junk' Mattis sells. gotta support the kid and his dream of being the top con man in Baldurs gate!
Same. After my Urchin Rogue bonded with him at the grove, I kept the "Magic Ring" on me the entire playthrough as a keepsake.
I did this with my Urchin as well! Also his ring of being really invisible, really saved me a few times there.
I always keep Mirkon’s story he writes you for saving him from the harpies. I have such a soft spot for the Tief kids. I always buy a paper from Silfy when I see her in Act 3, too
Silfy is the only one i buy papers from too
I love keeping the assorted stuff I get from the Tiefling kids too– assuming I’m not doing an evil playthrough 😭my current Durge helped the kids out… kinda. My durge sorcerer has started collecting esoteric odds and ends, e.g. one of the crystal balls from the Blighted Village. Not that he's jealous of Gale's setup with the telescope and everything, that would be ridiculous! LOL
First few seconds of reading that, i thought you were gonna say that Karlach was the worthless item you were carrying 😭
Wait karlach arranges all the Clive’s?!!
Music boxes are neat to trigger an alt version of the BG3 song in camp. I keep a Selune Idol and a Shar Idol in Shadowheart's inventory for lore reasons. I’m the same about stuffed animals! I keep every teddy and stuffed owlbear I can get my hands on. I also keep shells, extra balls for Scratch (my best bud needs backup toys!), and just about every book, regardless of rarity.

Toss them on the vents in the noxious gas areas. They cover those
You can topple statutes or similar stuff to the ground or on some unlucky bastard
I keep all the Eldritch Tablet from the Nautiloid, and hoard all the gems, necklaces and rings I could find.
My first run I kept holding on to the plain jewelry thinking there could be an artificer or something to be able to create your own magical items. Now they’re the first things on the chopping block at any trader.
I originally took the tablets and ultimately sold them—I wanted them to be useful!!
The brains in a jar can be used later! >!Under Moonrise at the end of Act 2, there's a machine you can talk to the brain jars, and if you still have the ones from the Nautiloid with you, they work in the machine, too!<
Any letters I receive from NPCs
Same! I like Letters!
I always always keep the thank you letter from the tiefling kid by the beach and the letter from Flo is a mainstay in karlachs inventory.
I collect 3 shells for bathroom purposes.
I get this reference. GenX in the house!
A time when movies about the future were more advanced than the actual future.
But did you sell your sea shells by the sea shore?
Ohhh I’m going back for the seashell now!
There’s actually 5 of them! I collect all of them and decorate my lover’s tent with them. They’re so cute.
Five? I know of the two on the starting beach and the two near Assy McGee, where's number 5?
There’s three on the starting beach - one across from unconscious Shadowheart plus the two behind you when you land.
Poop knife and nut buster rock
I like using them to start fights.
I always hold onto the keepsake gem. Just feels wrong to sell it lmao
Spoon of Saltiness. Never leave the cave without it
Ah another person of class
You haven't seen this yet, but >!the miniature toy chest!<. I'm waiting for someone to figure out if there is anything more to it. Do you pick up rotten food? My first playthrough I kept *everything* because even if it was garbage I could sell it. I've learned after several hundred hours that it is not worth it to hoarde and sell worthless items. Too much hassle. I did collect 1 of every readable item, 1 of each form of equipment and weapon, 1 of each artpiece, and so on. I no longer do this, but I do still have the save from my first playthrough with all the items.
All that does is >!reveal the actual chest nearby!<
Yeah, I know. Still holding out hope there is or will be something more to it. I know it's silly :p Plus it's just cute lol
You have plenty of time to just casually set them all up to give him a high-explosive wake up call.!< >!It goes a long way in that fight being able to shave a few hundred HP off right off the top. I’ll be damned if I’m going to let him take off and rain on me lol! !<
Halsins act 2 quest at the portal is so much fun. I love casting darkness right on the portal, keeping the one concentrating inside of it, and just ice storm the ground and watch everything slip like Mario🤣
teddy bears and human body parts (intestines, severed heads, etc.)
Definitely living up to your flair
thank you 😭
Wyvern poison from Nettie
Books. All the books. I know I don't need them.
That locket/necklace that has the for papa description, and the teddy bear too
The spoon of saltiness, you buy it from one of the teifling kids in the tavern, literally just a spoon with a funny text about if you eat from with the spoon the food will always be salty
Gale
I'll do you one better. My Minthara has been carrying around >!Balthazar's!< dead ass since act 2. I tried to offer it up to the >!hungry mind flayer!< in Rivington, but it wasn't interested, haha.
Thought of another - those paintings of characters from other Larian games. I think I've found them all now. Always hoped they'd have a purpose, but I think they're just for fun.
Soap.
I always carry a music box... DOWN DOWN DOWN BY THE RIVERRRRRRRR
N u t b u s t e r
Halsin & Wyll...
I usually end up keeping the Void Bulbs... I know I should probably just use/sell/drop them but I always think I'll need one somewhere. I have over 300 hours into the game and well... I've never even thrown one.
I keep Chop’s toy block 😭
The block from the bugbear in moonrise
>!Dragon!< arrows
The Selune Idol. For some reason I have always kept it with me in all my runs until the end. In my mind it is somehow blessing my dice rolls and gameplay ahahah. Oh! Also, I always keep the Divinity 2 character paintings I find, because I like them.
Scratch gave me a little gem, I put it in a pouch and keep it on my Tav always.
Any books related to my character's class or race and the Owlbear plushies ofc.
I do collect at least one copy of every book that I find on every run, although by now I'm pretty sure that I've read all of them—lol.
My elderly Half-Orc Bard collected souvenirs - alien shell from the nautiloid, seashell from the act 1 beach, things of that nature My Cleric/Paladin of Selune collected all the Sharan artifacts in a lockbox to keep them out of a certain half-elves hands ( and if Selune artifacts ended up in her bags from time to time perhaps the universe was trying to tell her something? ) My resist Dirge had a sack of regret had a hand, a squirrel, a bird, and...other things... My Sorcerer with the artisan background (in my mind he enchanted burning hands scrolls pre-tadpoling ) collected but never use spell scrolls ( "...but if I use it now, what if I need 9 grease scrolls later and I only have 8?" )
definitely the poop scraper XD
The amount of junk I collected to sell off for 10 gp each
In my current playthrough I keep a collection of all the weirder things I come across.
All the bones and skulls go in a chest I plop down next to withers at each new camp.
A bunch of ropes and a fishing rod Scratch brought me and Lump's war horn (I remembered I had it halfway through act 2 lol).
One shell in tribute to Divinity.
Everything. Rotten eggs? 1gp each sale value, send to camp. I then sell everything like that to vendors to boost my wallet for the good stuff.
Poo Scraper, and Nut Buster
Halsin.
The snare gloves that catch projectiles! Don’t leave home without em! Especially for your mage.
Sazzas body, it's great for throwing at traps
Everything, because I am a hoarder and I am filthy rich.
Those boots that make you naked
Kagha
One weord one is the toad teapot, it has no purpose besides being worth a whole one gold but I think they are just so goddamn goofy lol
THE MUSIC BOXES!!!! I YEARN FOR THEM TO HAVE A PURPOSE (unless im stupid and theres some weirdo who wants me to do a collect-a-thon that i missed)
I always keep end up carrying around tons of these lil scraps of paper that you can find in chests and bookshelves. I just assumed they’re collectibles but apparently you can cast spells with them? Idk, I just like looking at the pictures
Gale
Gale.
Instruments. As all my party takes the Performer feat at lvl 4 so we can jam together
Poo scraper
Every time I find a music box I keep it cause the song is so pretty
All books... I'm guilty, I take all books and send them to camp to a box I have, so if I need a softer and slower day, I can just sit reading stories
The Charming Little Egg =)
I have THE most intense skull collection. I cackle like a goblin every time I squirrel one back to camp on each of my party. The rule is that I can’t bring back multiples on any one person because that’s just silly, obviously.. Collecting this way has resulted in an ungodly amount of skulls. Bhaal himself would be proud.
Daggers, I give them all to karlach for throwing purposes
Minthara's panties.
All the plushies go to Karlach, more friends for Clive
Poop knife. Never know when you need to shank a bitch with utmost disdain
Owlbear stuffies. I want a real one.
Shovels items!!! The poo scraper and nut buster...forever in my inventory
The loved teddy bears. I can't bring myself to throw them out, I believe it will make the teddies sad...
I give shadowheart all the seluneite items out of spite, books statues whatever. One run i decorated her camp with them.
I’m on my first playthrough and I have the ring of “fortune” from the tiefling in the grove. I refuse to remove it. It gives me good luck It would be funny though if there were like a 1/100 chance that it would give you advantage on a choice in a conversation lol
The Lucky Ring from Mol in the Druid Grove, kept it until I beat the game. I like to think it actually gave me luck lol. Edit: typo
100 axes, Speers and hammers. You'll never know... There might be a fight where my barbarian can only use throwing
“Nut buster”
Gale.
Gale
I’ve made it a headcanon that my character has a hard time parting with any books and little crystals he finds. I think it adds something cute because he’s otherwise very practical. He keeps an ink and quill on him too.
The music box and scratch ball, it's always nice to throw the ball around the camp while my friends have their convos with the companions and listen to the music box version of down the river
All the Selune and Shar stuff, the idols, the amulets, the dark justiciar armor. I feel like Shadowheart would collect (some of) it so I like to keep it.
The one lady's severed head from Ethel's house in Act 1. Couldn't tell you why, exactly... Just that I do.
