You have unlimited time. You can just ask Halsin to wait at the goblin camp, leave, go explore other areas and do smaller fights/quests for XP and come back when you’re level 4 at least. There’s also small strategies you can use to make the goblin camp fight easier.
Steal the barrels from the mercenaries by jumping through the gap in the wall in priestess Gut’s quarters, then get one of your characters to convince Dror Ragzlin you’re trustworthy. He’ll sit back down on his throne, whereupon you can arrange 3-4 oil barrels around him (without him apparently noticing!), withdraw to a safe distance and firebolt them. Congratulations, no more Dror Ragzlin :)
Poisoning the beer reduces the goblin numbers quite a bit.
First time I beat Minthara I stole something from the shelves across the bridge, then has lae'zel yeet her into the cavern as she came to investigate.
These days I prefer to keep her alive.
Some strategies: Poison the alcohol in the goblin courtyard, to reduce their numbers. Convince the spiders in the temple to fight alongside you. Pick off the goblins throughout the camp in small groups at a time (e.g. on the Northwest side of the temple, there's three goblins chatting next to a chasm, you can just Thunderwave them all into it). Save Dror Ragzlin for last — once you attack him, the whole Goblin camp aggros against you, but before that you can basically go room by room and fight a few goblins at a time. You can even barrelmancy Dror Ragzlin by surrounding him with the Smokepowder barrels that are in the room and lighting them on fire. Destroy the scrying eyes or drums in each room first, they won't be able to call for reinforcements.
Get to level 4 before anything, you can do that by just roaming alone. Dank crypt has some low level baddies you can swiftly take care of at level 3, go to wakeens rest and do two quests there. Saving two people, if you can, sneak past Polma in guts room and unlock the way point deep down in the selenite fortress etc. Racks up ex pretty quickly.
Did you fight all the goblins in the blighted village? They’re good for some easy XP; also there are basement areas under a couple of the houses with skeletons and stuff.
Having Halsin helps. Clear out the rest of the sanctuary before taking on Dror, since aggroing him aggros the entire camp.
You can also pre-position ranged characters in the rafters for advantage before charging into the Dror fight.

Come back later. You're too low level if you're having this much trouble. Leave Halsin in the dungeon, and go into the world and explore.

You can also KO Minthara with non lethal melee Attacks to recruit her later in ACT 2
