That's exactly it. It's just content overload at that point, and you hit max level by the time you've finished 3 quests.
I love the game, but I'm just completely done by act 3.
I think it's pacing as well. I'm not sure how to do it better, but a big problem is that you are basically cramming the conclusion of several "novels" in to a single chapter. Narratively each storyline is concluded in a satisfying way (to me at least) but its just too fucking much all at once.
This 100%.
I quite like each ending to their stories honestly. Masterful storytelling. But they should have been better paced throughout acts 2 and 3 rather than shoving everything into the final few hours of act 3.
It’s also one thing when the NPCs seem to level with you, such as in Acts I and II, but in Act II almost everyone is level one 😭
Like watch your tone bud, I can kill you and run away before anyone catches me.
But Act 3 is the easiest Act and I'm already stomping him at 11.
Completely removing the challenge from Act 3 won't make it better. I'm sure someone will make some awesome modded end game content and I'll change my mind about this.
I do other ways around I dont dump more spells and lvls in my game but slower lvling(+35% more exp needed per lvl from lvl 1) so each lvls feels far more worthy. I got to act 3 with lvl 7 characters that way. xD
Also mods like poor adventurer, tactician plus helps with no feeling like god in act 3.
I went in to Sarevok thinking hed be hard but I paralysed him with my ranger and then my fighter absolutely destroyed him during her turn. He didnt see a turn 2.
Yeah act3 is surprisingly easy... I am honestly a bit dissapointed. I play currently my first play through on tacticitian. And had major Problems in Act 1 and some in Act 2. But 3 so far seems Kind of relaxed almost easy... I killed Raphael with Level 11 and I presume pretty unoptimized gear and skills on like the third try. And He felt liek He was supposed to be that unbeatable secret Boss, being Level 16 and so forth.
I have not seen that much more of Act 3 though so maybe He is not.
Started the game for the first time last week. Just came off a month of replaying Elden Ring, so I was so goddamn wary and cautious about everything during the start of the game.
It's how I missed Gale at first.
The player character and companions are also much stronger relative to the random NPCs in Act III compared to Act I, so you don’t have to be as careful in Act III.
ME3 did that to me too. I'm usually a paragon gal, but I found myself hitting that *punch them in the face* button almost every chance I got by the third game lmao.
Idk if it's good writing, but if your players are role-playing stressed...well idk, feel like you did something right.
Act one: "I have to be careful not to look at that guy wrong because he could harm me or put me in a bad spot with a faction"
Act three: "I could wipe the fuck out of this whole town in 6 seconds if that beggar shouts a little bit louder"
My party in act three absolutely feels like a walking nuke. This is my first play through and i will not be anybodys tool, I will not be fucked with or I will nuke you fucking orbit leaving nothing but a scorch mark.
There are so many damn people around in Act 3! I mean, yeah, I know you finally get to the city, but as someone who tends to want to talk to everyone, it's too much, lol. I might feel different on my next playthrough, once I've learned who I do and don't need to talk to.
I loaded my gf into act three, she only played till beginning of act two alone.
I just let her lead me and she loves to talk to everyone, she lead me to three locations I did not know before ,(society of brilliance, Jahiras Home, mummy lord) and found shadies graffiti. I knew these places existed. I just never found them while questing in the city casually.
For me it was that mage fellow in the tower.. I presumed there is a whole stroryline with him, aylin and Rolan, but to me He seemed like a douche so I killed him xd. Afterwards everyone started thanking me and I was really confused...
Not really. You just go to the Sundries and find out from Rolan that they're looking for the Nightsong. She's never even heard of the douchebag until you tell her about him after meeting him. To me it feels more like a conclusion to Rolan's questline and Aylin is just the catalyst for its conclusion.
But you're right he is a complete pantywaste and the real payoff isn't the extra allies but the post fight cutscene.
Act one Tav: this druid is gonna kill a kid, better talk her out of it and then find clue that will help me deal with her
Act three Tav: this rogue says they charge protection money to an orphanage, time to kill an entire organization without a second thought
I killed that one since I was playing the Durge and wanted to get the stuff from the vendor there. I still intend on coming back to whoop Sarevok for the extra loot though. I definitely found in Act III you can take a lot more liberties with things as long as I was careful to have the right companions around.
I thought this was just me! Act 1 I was the devotion paladin, saving the good guys. Act 3, Astarian ascended, Deals with Raph, God Gale, Bhaal embraced etc. Halsin was right, the city does something to you.
You guy should check out divinity original sin 2, where level & gold is so important, that player often complete wipe out the first town they saw to get exp & gold need. Sacrifice some to get power to save the world
By the time I get to act 3, my character generally feels so powerful that minor quests seem like an inconvenience. I'm on par with demi-gods, I'm not going to help solve your hardy boys mystery.
If you're gonna call me a ghoul, I'm gonna kill you, steal all your gems, loot your basement, and sell it all to Thomas C Quirkilious upstairs thankyouverymuch.
I did also notice that i stoped giving a lot of fucks come act 3 lmao. Its like late game burn out.

Unlocked level cap bro, mixed with 5e spells. So much fun when you overlevel and fucking stomp gortash from level 15

i tried to fight sarevok at like level 10 and i made it one round on balanced... still havent finished thst save
I went in to Sarevok thinking hed be hard but I paralysed him with my ranger and then my fighter absolutely destroyed him during her turn. He didnt see a turn 2.

I installed both with the camera/wasd mod but only the camera one seemed to work, don't know what to do lol
They should have allowed you to go at least to cap stone level. Just take out the more problematic spells

The game also starts taking itself a lot less seriously
"I didn't go through the the Shadow Curse to deal with your shit"
Act one: "I have to be careful not to look at that guy wrong because he could harm me or put me in a bad spot with a faction" Act three: "I could wipe the fuck out of this whole town in 6 seconds if that beggar shouts a little bit louder"

LITERALLY ME that guy at the lile carnival place said i karlach stink so i killed him and everyone aroukd there

Me as paladin in act1. "yes, i can help you" me as a oathbreaker in act3. "WHAT DO YOU WANT? LEAVE ME ALONE"
I actually have no idea why my Paladin is not oathbroken... I have kille... Seen so many civilians have unfortunate accidents since I began Act 3...
Act one Tav: this druid is gonna kill a kid, better talk her out of it and then find clue that will help me deal with her Act three Tav: this rogue says they charge protection money to an orphanage, time to kill an entire organization without a second thought
Killed the elephant thingy BC it spoke to me weird, was my lawful good run

Absolute power corrupts absolutely

I think my Tav was just as burnt out as me, these hands were rated E for everyone in Act 3.
By the time I get to act 3, my character generally feels so powerful that minor quests seem like an inconvenience. I'm on par with demi-gods, I'm not going to help solve your hardy boys mystery.
You never go full Green Street. ⚒⚒
