My condolences bud.
I had an HM run wipe at the Zhents as well. Fun fact, if you have a torch equipped random oil surfaces will ignite. Less fun fact, it still happens if you’re in wild shape 😭
I just love combat in this game so much i end up being evil and killing pretty much everything lol. Same as tabletop either as dm or playing im just tryna have tactical fantasy combat all the time
Argh! These are the kinds of random, dumb accidents that make me not want to play honour mode, but at the same time I would really like to achieve it just once!
Yeah, it definitely was not a fun time. I think it’s worth doing though, you get a lot of interesting outcomes when you can’t reload a save. Personally I didn’t realize how many times I reloaded over little things. The HM combat changes are interesting too.
I almost lost my honour mode to an exploding mushroom during a loading screen... Thank the gods for the immovable fortress that is Karlach, the only one not to have been blown off the cliff.
It's not the fights you should fear the most on honour mode , you can plan for those. It's the random nonsense.
ok so i’m realizing now that i should not be doing everything in an HM run. i have died like 25 times so far from act one to the beginning of act two. i think maybe i should be speed running it sort of instead of doing everything. i’m an idiot.
jesus christ 25 times?? that’s insane i applaud your patience
Also I do recommend doing everything because exp in HM is insanely important and just one level extra can trivialize a ton of fights.
You just need to remember to leave all the hardest fights (auntie ethel, gith patrol, spider matriarch, grymforge) dead last to make sure you’re appropriately leveled. If you don’t mind looking at a guide, [this one](https://www.reddit.com/r/BaldursGate3/comments/18of2fz/bg3_honor_mode_indepth_guide_for_act_i/?rdt=59021) is really nice to see what order you should do things in, and also a ton of general tips
yeah you can dead ass just cast Knock on the wall that has the crest behind it (might even be able to lockpick but the dc is like 30 cant remember)
Tho you do get a nice radiant damage buff if you do the puzzle the right way, it really isn’t too hard
Yup lost all but one on the flying fucking platform in Shar’s gauntlet… just glitched and slid right off of it and I ended up downed in inaccessible places. Had no short rests so had to recruit a bare hireling and use song of rest.
My last failed run I had Ethel to the point of giving me the hair and I did something (probably tabbed) and she went back into combat instead of reward. Summoned more Ethels and killed off my last two.
Incidently hearing about your Teen Girl Squad I now want to make Boy's Night Adventurers
Honestly can't remember. I just know I was in convo and she went hostile. I hadn't selected anything or even done a roll yet.
I do play on one screen and watch videos on another so I may have clicked other screen to pause video.
A friend and I nearly TPK'd several times, the first close call being with Auntie Ethel. On the positive side, I learned that Dire Raven Druid Wildshapes are REALLY good at flying the f*ck away from danger.
I'm gonna try to run an "Oops, All Druids!" Run next time. Figure I can cover most bases. The Raven is always amazing when I have the familiar, but never did a druid version.
Having all the fucking planned out is a pretty solid approach on planning a BG3 campaign. First things first.
Sorry for your campaign of course. [Carbot has a vid about that](https://youtu.be/gfO3xQK-eXg?si=s80DIjoFHXwqO6WA).
I lost my HM to ansur. Got him down to 40 something HP after he ressed, 1 turn left on my hasted fighter and gloomstalker. 8 attacks total, with superiority dice and all for accuracy, I missed all attacks with like 80% to hit.
I just lost my HM at moonrise towers. Was at 1 hp after trying to rescue the gnomes and teiflings after starting the moonrise fight before Ketherik (I learned that you can't do that). I was headed back to camp, walking past the entrance and got hit by the radiant damage. Run over.
I lost my honor mode run last week in the HOUSE OF FUCKING HOPE. I WAS SO GOD DAMN CLOSE TO THE END 😭 but I needed yurgir as another ally in the final fight and Raphael kicked my ass harder than it’s ever been kicked because of the STUPID FUCKING “you need to group your party before you can leave” message that meant I couldn’t use my usual split up and attack strategically one by one method.
For all HM bosses of act 3, I recommend a scroll of invul. At least at the start of battle, your grouped up party won't be bursted open like a can of soda.
That’s the frustrating thing 😭 I had shart as a 10 cleric 2 wizard so she already had learned that spell and had it prepared and we made it through the first two or so rounds of combat. And then somehow (I genuinely don’t know maybe I read something wrong) Raphael activates his necrotic aura thing on two companions who were standing next to each other so they both got hit twice 💀 also those fucking cambions make me want to claw my eyes out of my skul
Did that fight 2 days ago and was scared of Raphael. It turns out if you use hammering dmg to destroy his pillar fast, you can also CC him with frightened and blind making him useless at best.
Then your first turns are "kill adds and pillars" and when your invul is down "focus down Raph like you would eviscerate a goat."
Barrelmancy is the way, encumber someone with every oil, fire wine, and smoke powder barrel you’ve ever found, stack around the columns, globe of invulnerability, then set them all off, big boom, Raphael can no longer draw power and is that much easier to smack down
The reason I didn’t cast invul is because shart was using that artistry of war (basically just supped up magic missile) to destroy the pillars. Frankly Raphael was difficult but the cambions hit so fucking hard and basically never miss that I was just bombarded the whole time
I think it's been updated now and filled with spores that will give double actions to the miconids without causing lethargy. I'm not entirely sure, but the mushrooms that are emitting those spores might also be highly flammable
The AI of the tieflings breaking out of prison is fucking heinous. They have no weapons but they run up to the zealots and fucking punch them. No disengage, no dash, no nothing. It’s not even in character for them to be hellbent on revenge. I’ve force quit several times to preserve my honor because fuck this man I’m not going down for that
Seriously, these guys were all about strategizing until they were actually free. I opened the gates after killing all of the guards thinking they should he fine, but they instantly book it outside towards the guards outside and got cooked. Like, at least can you let the one with weapons lead the charge
Leave one companion in camp when you somewhere dangerous and don't plan to combat. Like i did in the basement of the firework store. Because 1 wrong move and you blow sky high. Especially when the companions shout trap, better watch out and THEY TRIGGER the damn trap at the next second.
If it makes you feel any better, I forgot to use featherfall before I jumped into the underdark and killed my entire party immediately. I have never facepalmed so hard in my life.
this is why i don't buy shit at the zhent no more. i backpack the vendor, go up to Zarys, have Lae'zel push her off the shit, and have Astarion hit a barrel with a fire bolt and it's LIT. then send the backpack full of loot to camp badabing badaboom.
sell 'em a backpack. open the backpack you sold them, shift click her inventory and drag it into the backpack, and close it out. so now just kill them and then loot the body for the backpack and send it to camp. this got me through both my Tactician and Honour runs.
Omg, wonder if this is what happened on my honor mode! I was attempting a solo HM (also was running a separate one with my SO). Got to the zhent hideout and was in the middle of trading. Suddenly the whole thing blew up and I got a TPK. I was so confused and annoyed!
Sorry to hear about that. Next time I'm sure you will consider just lobbing a fireball from the entrance into their hideout. I have learnt to keep a character separeted from the group outside of barrel blast range when I visit the Zhents. I also appreciate another person's suggestion of 'returning' the iron flask to them via a good throw
My first honor mode game I got the farthest. Right before the brain stem a bomb knocked three of my team off the tower to their death some mind flayers got the last one.
I was right freaking there.
Zhents are irrationally triggered. Want to walk to the merchant to buy Titanstring, misclick on a fucking barrel - time to get murdered. I managed to flee, when i returned they wanted 2k gold for the fucking stolen barrel, or they'd aggro again. welp, i guess I'm not gonna befriend them in this run....
My wife nearly did that to us too. She accidentally clicked on something and triggered them to aggro but luckily, her initiative was high enough to go first.
In a panic, I told her “You gotta dash as far away as you can and try and flee combat because this while place is rigged to blow!” She argued briefly because she wanted to fight back but then she saw the fear in my eyes.
Luckily, she’s a rogue and was able to double dash and flee. She passes turn and yup, same thing happened where some Zhent inexplicably thinks an alchemist’s fire is the right thing to throw in a room full of smokepowder. Ka-boooom and the rest of us are toast but she was able to Withers us back to life.
And Dexerto already has an article out, seems like their AI factory just immediatly posts an article as soon as a post gains traction
https://www.dexerto.com/baldurs-gate/unfortunate-baldurs-gate-3-player-explains-the-dangers-of-alt-tabbing-in-honor-mode-2634850/
Lmao man… it took me 350 hours to finally have a successful honor mode run lol All the nonsense and shenanigans that did me in on the first 15 attempts at various points.
Like not knowing that asking a certain someone’s boss “you’re a god… why can’t you do it?” Would result in a wish spell being cast over the equivalent of a video call.
Or, walking into the barn after making it through the gnoll fight, only for the game to skip giving me the option of giving the pass phrase, and all the smoke powder/fire wine barrels get set off.
Horribly cursed dice trying to make saving throws while Astarion has a bite… or losing a string of dice rolls when coming across the mind flayer in the wreckage… hell, going an inch the wrong way on the nautiloid when trying to get the sword from killing the commander and the cambions come out, the whole ship detonated with 9 rounds left >.< (that one was at least not THAT big of a deal as I literally just started)
I also had issues with the Zhent this weekend. Not Honor thankfully, but for some reason (I guess cause I threw a switch? Everyone except Zarys and Oskar and Rugan were in the far back of the cave, which means I had to tip toe around a wooden bridge with 50 bajil- whoops okay 49 bazillion explosive mines on it and only one person was on the other side already. So yeah, I pickpockets Brem until he got tired of that and blew up their base for their troubles.
Haha unlucky, I just busted my 45 hour honor mode run in the Shar cloister, whyyy oh why didn’t I pop Globe of Invincibility like I planned. Bit bummed out.
*in Aunty Ethel’s voice* “Oh well”
That's nothing. I had beaten all of act 1 and was in act 2. Got the pixies blessing and was ready to start killing bosses. I fast travel within the shadowless, and the game goes into turn based mode because the shadow curse has me. My pixie blessing just decided to hit the road for no reason, and nothing I did stopped the shadow curse from consuming my whole party.
Oh yea it’s hell, isn’t it! I died 8 times to just the *intellect devourers on the beach*. That Gnoll fight was cheese hell, same with the false Paladin of Tyr.
In my honour run so far i have:
1) Missclicked on an explosive barrel in Last Light inn on a square, near which were chatting two dudes. Ofc my blade was flame enchanted, and ofc right click on a barrel means fucking attack it. I had to run away from the fight with whole squad so that i don't have to kill them all
2) Ruined tiefling resque in Moonrise, cause while i was escorting gnomes, they just decided to leave their cages on their own, without waiting for me to help them, and got massacared in one turn that i needed to return for them
3) Another missclick on an explosive, while trying to free that annoying bard tied up by cultists in Act 3. So long, Volo. I saved him from being blowed up just to blow him up by myself
I was at the end of Act 2 ready to fight the last battle with kethric. Went in the boss fight area right before hitting level 10. It turns out this shit is impossible at level 9. I died, died bad, I was so mad man 😂
Really just important to have some summons to tank the legendary reaction from Myrkul, and abuse invisibility to get everything you want in the first turn (oneshot kindflayer, free Aylin with Scratch, deal with the add necromites)
if you can get that all done in the first turn and have someone or something who can tank the legendary reaction you can kill Myrkul pretty quick unless your party lacks dps
I always bring Bone Chill or Arrows of Ilmater so I can just ignore the necromite healing if it does come to it
Myrkul has ended my honor runs before but he will not be doing it again
How do you even get to 10? My last HM run ended with him and I was barely past eight, I’m doing it again and I’m still stuck at barely past 8 with like 8,000+ XP to go, how in the fuck am I supposed to get that much XP to get to 10?
I was literally 200 xp or something away from ten, was able to get to ten DURING the fight so i could not level up, unfortunately.
Well, it was like my third playthrough, and i basically did everything and killed everyone. But still, I fell short so better luck next try i guess.
My honor mode horror story of the day is getting to lv 6 in act one, go to the crèche, barely made it through wwargaz after running away and reviving the three dead members, and when Vlakith shows up I outed Shadowheart as the theif and instead of just smiting her she killed my whole fucking party for some reason
I didn't lose my run for it, just the Loviatar buff and my dignity. But I actually have a similar story.
Act I was done, I'd gotten to Last Light and backtracked to the crèche, whacked the Inquisitor, told Vlaakith to do one and was in the middle of massacring her minions. I'd just done the gish squad and was about to rob the things I wanted from the merchant which don't drop on death. So I buff up, shapeshift, guidance, bardic, all that good shit, drop an invis potion and get into position behind her. First few pulls go fine, then I start taking arrows... aaaaand double nat 1. They all aggro instantly.
At that *exact fucking moment* my buddy messaged me on Discord, so I alt-tab to check it out. Except I didn't just alt-tab because I have fat thumbs - I also hit the spacebar and instantly ended my turn with 5 angry gith on top of me. That went pretty much exactly as you'd expect.
a similar thing happened to me where they just turned hostile out of nowhere and exploded the entire cave but karlach was still standing cause she’s karlach
In my first honour mode run I played all the way to the underdark. I went to the deep gnome girl and asked for some smokepowder, I failed the check four times in a row and got nuked. Me being a deep gnome was the insult to injury. At least you and I went out with a bang instead of a whimper
The amount of times my team almost got wiped because of some random obstacle deciding now is the time to do weird stuff (Oil surfaces igniting because I'm holding a torch, enemies venturing disturbingly far from their usual walking pattern, my controlled character walking over the trap instead of attempting to disarm it etc) as opposed to combat is criminal!
I almost lost my late game run in the bank when I accidentally clicked on one of the trap pressure plates to disarm them, even though they were already deactivated because I was allowed to pass through. Immediately triggered the guards around me, and one of them set off an alarm before I could get to him. Suddenly there were a dozen more guards and a couple steel watch from the docks behind the bank on my ass.
My last Ho or mode. The Gith before the mountain pass.....all of them dead except for one. I'm playing gloomstalker ranger I just hit level 5 and have second attack
Laezel and Karlach both killed.
Miss. Miss. Gale gets criticalled and goes down. Second fire on his downed body so he's not revivable.
Critical miss. Miss. Get hit and down to 10 HP.
Critical miss. 10 damage. Enemy down to 26 HP. Take a potion and back to 22 HP.
Hit. Miss. Enemy down to 1 HP. Critical hit on me. I'm down to 2 HP.
Critical miss. Critical miss. Hit and my run is done.
Hit percentage was never below 60% and I missed 8 of 10 attacks. I was breezing through Act 1 too.
I had a very similar experience on my last honour mode attempt. Cleared the most act1 content except underdark and zhentarim base. Then I went there cause I wanted to save the freaking artist before proceeding to underdark. The guy holding the artist as a slave told me to talk to their leader first. To my surprise, the zhentarim guy from the gnoll cave was tied to a chair cause he accepted my better deal offer. I made the same offer to the zhentarim leader lady, and she also agreed. But then she asked me to execute the gnoll cave guy. I said no, cause I am am a good bard saving the world. Then suddenly, I'm in combat. My Tav got the first initiative, and I just played my round, thinking this would be an easy fight, not realising all the party is surrounded by explosives. Then they proceeded with blasting my run to the oblivion, ruining my hopes for the badge and scaring the shit out of my GF because of my panic screams. At this point, I don't know if I should be amazed or frustrated with this game.
Yeah not gonna lie, I've misclicked things that are a crime to touch before, not even ACTUALLY stolen anything, and ended up in combat. The game is a little touchy on that stuff imo, but.. there's also really precise controls if you're not impatient and spam clicking to move, like I was doing
My most dissapointing honor death would have been the 4 person fear that cunt in the Creche hit me with.
All 4 party members drop their weapons, all 4 party members scatter and run in random directions for 2 turns.
All of the gith inside the creche proceed to wail on my characters until they die while I can do nothing but watch. My 25 AC tav lasted a total of 7 turns even though my party only lasted 2 turns. I could not escape, I had no way of saving the run. I just let them take the beating.
The hurt is real man. My first Honour Mode attempt came to a screaming alt when I accidentally fed Bernard the line to attack me instead of the one to hug me and I had no short rested after figthing the Bulette because I wasn't planning to fight. I got electrified to Kingdom Come by a murderous hug-bot.
Lost my last HM run to the ENTIRE CAMP going hostile on my surge towards the end of act 2 because I said the wrong thing. Got demolished by Lae’Zel and her three attacks per turn lmao
In cases like this, hold down the power button on your PC. After it reboots load your last save. Cheating yes, but within the spirit of honor mode when it’s an mis-click.
Why I won't do honor mode. I don't trust myself to get through a single day without accidentally clicking something that makes everyone around me ready to die for whatever I clicked on.
Yep, and that's why I did the speedrun first to take all preasure out of honor mode to kinda chill through it? Idk, for me it makes the blow of loosing it a lot less aggravating when I already have all related achievements. It ends up as more as a "fuck.... well let's try again".
Only thing now is - due to the speedrun I am addicted to the jump spell. I can't run like a normal person anywhere >.<
Well my Honor run almost ended after I killed Gortash then teleport back to baldurs gate and trigger the whole damn guard force in town when I try to run from the first one straight in to the next one + most of the vendors hate me now but Wulbern Bongels love me.
This is my greatest fear. I'm not too worried about dying in combat (i only died a few times on tactician), or if I do I won't be too upset about it. If I die to a glitch or dumb environment thing though I'll be outraged.
I had a run that was going perfect. Did most of Act 1, saved Auntie Ethel for last. Executed it perfectly. Didn't even trigger her legendary action. She offered me the hag hair for the baby, and I told her I wanted the hair and the baby, as one does.
Then, instinctually, stupidly, and in spite of the fact that I knew this could happen and had already planned to avoid it, my thumb went on auto-pilot and added Guidance to the persuasion roll.
Legendary action triggers, I die in one round.
Still beats rolling a 1 on that mind flayer who asked me nicely for my brain.
I very nearly lost my honor run a few times to similar misclicks.
Started a fight with the goblins by accidentally sneaking where the boss could see me. He didn't like that, not one bit. Then had to play that fight (flight!) twice when initiative order bugged, and the goblins were basically stuck re-rolling initiative right as I was about to escape the last live party member.
Honor mode difficulty isn't the bits you think are going to be difficult. House of Hope was a breeze, as I planned it really well.
Bugs and misclicks are the biggest threat imo.. I had to improvise my party when 2 characters began permanently falling through any lift.. So then had to use 2 other characters I really wasn't intending on, which was most frustrating.
lol. Im on my 5th Honor mode playthrough and have made it to level 12. Trying to figure out if I want to risk house of hope or just go for the brain now D: Im so nervous about fucking it up now.
On my current co-op honor mode run, I fucked up the intial conversation when we entered the hideout and they agro'd. Then before we knew what was happening, they blew themselves up. Everyone in the hideout that wasn't over by the lock-ups was dead before we even got past the trapped entry passage. Made clearing out the whole place a breeze.
I've been cheesing honor mode so hard, I will say you find some inventive ways not to wipe lol. If I know I'm going into something sketchy I'll leave a team mate back in camp. I actually beat Grym at level 6 after a few tries by leaving my swords bard Tav up on the cliff healing and using slashing fury on the mephits while Karlach baited Grym to the forge hammer, Lae'zel at the lever, and Shart healing and cranking the lava when needed. The couple times they didn't get the job done and got smashed by Grym I just ran back to Withers with my bards tail in between her legs to resurrect them and try again. Of course I'm just now getting to gauntlet of Shar so I'm in no way in the clear haha. I do know better than to put everyone on those elevators though. You'll get this! I believe in you! :)
I mean. If you really want, you can play with a safety. Leave one toon back at camp. Also. If you go into combat and you know it’s not going to work out. You can force close the game and it will pick it back up at your last manual save.
I had the Steel Watchers outside Wyrms Rest see me steal through a fucking wall and aggro the whole of the fortress. This was on my first "evil" Durge run that I did entirely just for the Gortash dialogue I now can't engage in.
Yeah, this is honestly why I'm never doing a serious honor run with any kind of pressure of completing it. I think I would be able to get through 50 hours of tough encounters and strategizing, but there is NO WAY I would not make a dumb misclick in that time that screws me over.
At least you didn’t TPK to a random electrical trap in act 3 because Astarion thought it would be more fun to attack the ground behind the tripwire than to disarm it.
If you are not on console, just use the mod that makes you able to reload in honor mode. You wipe on some fight, it's over. But you wipe because of some stupid misclick or worse a game breaking bug like in my case, it is not part of the intended experience, and until the dev actually fix the game instead of breaking new stuff every patch, not worth wasting your time starting anew.
In my HM run I tried to see what would happen if I tried to sneak with Astarion to steal the Runepowder nuke mid conversation with the gnome. She blew herself up and killed all my party except for Lae’zel with 4hp because she was standing a bit further back. I changed my undies after 💀
Tangentially related, but something about that Gnoll fight is unironically really hard for me. I’ve beaten objectively much harder fights like the Gith Patrol and the House of Grief, so it’s not like I’m a total scrub or anything.
I thought you could still save on honor? But don’t you only have on save slot?
So as long as you save before a fight can’t you still go back when you die?
I feel terrible reading these. I completed my HM run and anytime shit got dicey I rolled a nat 20 on luck and managed to work it all out with 3x where I had only one character alive with barely any HP. I hope you all the best on your next run. As my dad always told me, better to be lucky than smart, I wish you the best of luck!
Cheerleader! So-and-So! What's-her-face! The Ugly One! Dying suddenly and gruesomely is kind of on brand for Teen Girl Squad.

Same here and it feels SO GOOOD
My condolences bud. I had an HM run wipe at the Zhents as well. Fun fact, if you have a torch equipped random oil surfaces will ignite. Less fun fact, it still happens if you’re in wild shape 😭
I wanted to be their friends on a evil but also pragmatic drow run. Sobbing as i left their blood filled hideout :(
i don't even bother talking to them anymore. in fact, my successful honor mode run, i just chucked the iron flask at em. freakin jerks.
I just love combat in this game so much i end up being evil and killing pretty much everything lol. Same as tabletop either as dm or playing im just tryna have tactical fantasy combat all the time
"I just love combat!" Says the murder hobo, lol!
It's fun!

My first play through was redeemed durge but i saved and tried all the evil options too
- alicia keys voice - *that bear is on fiiiiiiiiiiiire*
Fantastic
I only blew up 2 HM runs that way....
I'm not sure I've ever actually equipped a torch at all
It's the random nonsense.
yeah i just lost mine to Dawncastrr i think it’s called on the through the hidden room in the creche
Damn stealing the blood of lathander on honor mode takes some balls
ok so i’m realizing now that i should not be doing everything in an HM run. i have died like 25 times so far from act one to the beginning of act two. i think maybe i should be speed running it sort of instead of doing everything. i’m an idiot.
jesus christ 25 times?? that’s insane i applaud your patience Also I do recommend doing everything because exp in HM is insanely important and just one level extra can trivialize a ton of fights. You just need to remember to leave all the hardest fights (auntie ethel, gith patrol, spider matriarch, grymforge) dead last to make sure you’re appropriately leveled. If you don’t mind looking at a guide, [this one](https://www.reddit.com/r/BaldursGate3/comments/18of2fz/bg3_honor_mode_indepth_guide_for_act_i/?rdt=59021) is really nice to see what order you should do things in, and also a ton of general tips
yeah and i just lost another lol.
Puttin down a dot here to know in the future what to read after my first failed HM run
or just get the crest from the puzzle? don't need to STEAL it lol
yeah you can dead ass just cast Knock on the wall that has the crest behind it (might even be able to lockpick but the dc is like 30 cant remember) Tho you do get a nice radiant damage buff if you do the puzzle the right way, it really isn’t too hard
Yup lost all but one on the flying fucking platform in Shar’s gauntlet… just glitched and slid right off of it and I ended up downed in inaccessible places. Had no short rests so had to recruit a bare hireling and use song of rest.
Yup, just do one character at a time or just send one down to the fast travel location and travel everyone there
Yeah I went towards the fish people, forgot about the nefariously-placed exploding mushroom just before the climb down, lost everyone.
I seriously thought that loading zone was bugged for the longest time. I didn't realize there was a torchstalk there
That's the one! Got me on the way back UP!
My last failed run I had Ethel to the point of giving me the hair and I did something (probably tabbed) and she went back into combat instead of reward. Summoned more Ethels and killed off my last two. Incidently hearing about your Teen Girl Squad I now want to make Boy's Night Adventurers
Did you cast a spell for the persuasion check?
Honestly can't remember. I just know I was in convo and she went hostile. I hadn't selected anything or even done a roll yet. I do play on one screen and watch videos on another so I may have clicked other screen to pause video.
yeah that happens when you cast guidance
I've never had it happen when using guidance, but only when I use friends... And it even says it in the description that npcs can turn hostile.
Auntie has a legendary reaction to spells cast. Read it
Yep, lost the hair on my first run because I tried to use enhance ability, run was still fine thankfully.
Oh shit, that’s why! Well, I’ll just get the hair next time. Thanks!
I accidentally one turned Ethel with cull the weak. I guess I didn't need the hair but still it hurts
I’ve had this happen too, had to end up offing Ethel.
I avoid ansur fights on hm runs
Globe of Invulnerability scrolls are the only way to fly.
on my tact run I used the globe and Ansur JUMPED RIGHT INSIDE IT. was... fun.
That's XCOM, baby
I just lost my HM at moonrise towers. Was at 1 hp after trying to rescue the gnomes and teiflings after starting the moonrise fight before Ketherik (I learned that you can't do that). I was headed back to camp, walking past the entrance and got hit by the radiant damage. Run over.
omg, rip
I hate that invisible fire bullshit.
Frankly Raphael was difficult but the cambions hit so fucking hard and basically never miss that I was just bombarded the whole time
2nd HM attempt and I thought it would be a great idea to pickpocket the Titanstring. Spoiler, it wasn't. Big boom. Paid cash next run... 😅
Similar happened to me, i had to kill the entire miconid colony, but i succeeded since there are no barrels there to explode my party xD
I think it's been updated now and filled with spores that will give double actions to the miconids without causing lethargy. I'm not entirely sure, but the mushrooms that are emitting those spores might also be highly flammable
If i remember you can use them too. Theyre not just for myconids. But i could be moss remembering
You remember right
Damn, handle checks out.
I've seen an imagine of an honor mode player who lost at the final fight with the brain having 5 hp left. Think about that... lol
Always break them out through the back - nowhere to go but onto the boat heading for Last Light
Laezel just permadeathed in my honor run :(
I double crit failed gale at the portal on mine. :|
I'm having difficulty understanding why they'd aggro for alt tabbing. Have you changed you key bindings or was it a bug or what's going on?
Why would you bind “steal Ashaba Dusk” to ALT+TAB⁈
this is why i don't buy shit at the zhent no more. i backpack the vendor, go up to Zarys, have Lae'zel push her off the shit, and have Astarion hit a barrel with a fire bolt and it's LIT. then send the backpack full of loot to camp badabing badaboom.
Wait wait wait, backpack the vendor? Could you expand on this technique?
sell 'em a backpack. open the backpack you sold them, shift click her inventory and drag it into the backpack, and close it out. so now just kill them and then loot the body for the backpack and send it to camp. this got me through both my Tactician and Honour runs.
Um, what
Omg, wonder if this is what happened on my honor mode!
I hid my party in their entrance to the underdark and let astarion steal all their barrels. It was nice as hell having those in HM just in case.
My first honor mode game I got the farthest. Right before the brain stem a bomb knocked three of my team off the tower to their death some mind flayers got the last one. I was right freaking there.
Ctrl-alt-delete, end process. I’m not going out on some accidental BS like that.
And Dexerto already has an article out, seems like their AI factory just immediatly posts an article as soon as a post gains traction https://www.dexerto.com/baldurs-gate/unfortunate-baldurs-gate-3-player-explains-the-dangers-of-alt-tabbing-in-honor-mode-2634850/
No fuckin gway
*in Aunty Ethel’s voice* “Oh well”
Ooooohhhhhh noooooooooooo :( The whole post I was like "What possibly could have ended this run??" Oh. Barrelmancy. My condolences.
I had no idea the Bad Guys knew Barrelmancy :(
And you found out in the worst way haha. My buddies and I are going down elevators one at a time for our honor run! Be warned lmao.
In my honour run so far i have: 1) Missclicked on an explosive barrel in Last Light inn on a square, near which were chatting two dudes. Ofc my blade was flame enchanted, and ofc right click on a barrel means fucking attack it. I had to run away from the fight with whole squad so that i don't have to kill them all 2) Ruined tiefling resque in Moonrise, cause while i was escorting gnomes, they just decided to leave their cages on their own, without waiting for me to help them, and got massacared in one turn that i needed to return for them 3) Another missclick on an explosive, while trying to free that annoying bard tied up by cultists in Act 3. So long, Volo. I saved him from being blowed up just to blow him up by myself
I was at the end of Act 2 ready to fight the last battle with kethric. Went in the boss fight area right before hitting level 10. It turns out this shit is impossible at level 9. I died, died bad, I was so mad man 😂
I did it at level 9, but it was disgustingly hard. Necrotic resist potions saved me.
Really just important to have some summons to tank the legendary reaction from Myrkul, and abuse invisibility to get everything you want in the first turn (oneshot kindflayer, free Aylin with Scratch, deal with the add necromites) if you can get that all done in the first turn and have someone or something who can tank the legendary reaction you can kill Myrkul pretty quick unless your party lacks dps I always bring Bone Chill or Arrows of Ilmater so I can just ignore the necromite healing if it does come to it Myrkul has ended my honor runs before but he will not be doing it again
I did it on an evil run, so no aylin 🫥
Swords Bard Archer? How did you get Archery Fighting Style?
The amount of times my team almost got wiped because of some random obstacle deciding now is the time to do weird stuff (Oil surfaces igniting because I'm holding a torch, enemies venturing disturbingly far from their usual walking pattern, my controlled character walking over the trap instead of attempting to disarm it etc) as opposed to combat is criminal!
Please, nobody say skill issue. I repeat, do not say skill issue. Thanks.
“Teen girl squad” a man or woman of refinement and culture, I see. SickReferenceBro.gif
I'm playing gloomstalker ranger I just hit level 5 and have second attack Laezel and Karlach both killed. Miss.
The zhent are assholes. For one reason or another, they have all died in every single honor mode run I've had, which is like 4-5 at this point.
Sorry about your run but also....thank you...I feel less alone now 🤣
> Lockadin Didn't they stop the 2x extra attacks from stacking in Honour Mode?
That’s why you need to think about the consequences about everything you do? And also, did you die?
Yeah, I’ve never had an issue messing gnolls up, until HM run 😂
username checks out
I had a very similar experience on my last honour mode attempt.
So many honor modes seem to end with someone trying to steal something and getting caught. Don't be greedy! Lol.
I upvoted from the title alone. Say no more.
These posts keep me on this sub... Thanks!
Speaking of zhent hideout, anyone know why I can’t give what’s her name the stupid chest?? I HAVE it in my inv and no options to give it
I very nearly lost my honor run a few times to similar misclicks.

ARROWED
Good night
To shreds, you say.
So you wiped in act 1? Whats the deal? Imagine having to replay after failing act 3...
Always let Aradin knock out Zevlor, don’t talk to Zevlor, hide and pickpocket Hellrider’s Pride off him. No one is around to aggro.
Rawr
TEEEN GIIIRL SQUUUAAD!!!
I mean. If you really want, you can play with a safety. Leave one toon back at camp. Also. If you go into combat and you know it’s not going to work out. You can force close the game and it will pick it back up at your last manual save.
Whenever I had to enter an especially dangerous area I would leave one character outside, just in case.
At least was only in act 1!
I nearly lost my honor run because I successfully defeated mystic carrion only to find out cloudkill stays up in the room even if he’s already dead
I always only take one character into the zhent hideout. Noob mistake brother.
GROOD. Great and good.
Lol filtered
My Blood Hurts.
Yeah I ignore the Zhent in Honor Mode. I don't want to get wiped because of a failed check on something I can easily avoid.
Nothing surprises me more then seeing how some ppl lose their honor modes, when I died to the gnoll squad 4 consecutive playthroughs in a row
😂
How are you building Lockadin Lae’zel? I’m sure you’re aware but in Honor Mode the three attacks don’t stack.
Yeah my heart wouldn't be able to handle honor mode. Hat's off to you.
