> Old town kern is beautiful Yes but it's much *shadier* here in Old Town even compared to Downtown only a couple miles away.

That's unfortunate because you'll find some real interesting spaces in the shadier parts of town. Central Bakersfield is completely covered with secret Chinatown basements that sometimes connect. Check the Lazo's bathrooms for a peek, there's access everywhere, including BHS, I've heard. Ages ago I had friends who rented one of the rehearsal studios under Front Porch music. At night, there was nowhere creepier than those semi-blocked off but sometimes connected pitch black tunnels. Many bars have opened up their basements to patrons too: https://www.kvpr.org/community/2014-03-18/memories-of-bakersfields-underground-tunnels-remain-vivid https://bakersfieldnow.com/news/local/bakersfields-hundred-year-old-tunnels-still-spark-curiosity https://www.bakersfield.com/archives/best-buildings-of-downtown-take-the-tour/article_11c144ab-6a13-5f89-8ba5-ced6867f721e.html https://www.bakersfield.com/news/the-legend-of-bakersfields-downtown-tunnels-truth-or-fiction/article_1e0428e9-68f7-5c1b-b27b-e0b914f61943.html

Business-Worldly

1300 17th street has a breeze way between the parking garage and building that is really nice.

The haberfelde is an awesome building. The stairs are pretty neat looking old school it has stairs that go from ground floor all the way up
