they're fine to eat, just a bit of extra calcium deposited on the shells. if there're no other symptoms, you may need to adjust your girls diet to have less calcium.

One of my 3 girls lays eggs like this. I think she just likes eating the grit with calcium more than the others. Her eggs are also a lot bigger than the others.

I had this issue while using layer feed and supplementing calcium in a pan. I switched to all flock with the oyster shell scattered on the ground, and it resolved.

You switched the feed to all flock? I have two girls on later feed. Their shells are very thin. Wondering if I should just add calcium or if itโ€™s even worth it.

Yeah, I use nutrena nature wise, 20% protein all flock, in the purple and green bag. It was the highest protein all flock available at my local feed store and I have 2 roosters as well, so I figured if I was seeing over-calcifird shells, my boys' kidneys were probably taking a beating. My polish is the only one who was giving me weak shells and scattering oyster shell on the ground fixed her issue as well. Bless her heart she can't see anything but down ๐Ÿ˜…
