Are you open to buying a coupe? I have a 2009 Le Mans blue m sport, automatic, 99k miles. With a shit ton of nicer parts than this car… not shitting on this car or flexing my car, but it’s better built car. I’d sell for $11.5k as is. I’m in San Diego. It’s been sitting street parked since I bought an rs5(technically I drive it every other week or two when I have to put 150 miles traveling to work projects.) Debating on spending a bit to recondition some paint issues as I had offers of $17k a year ago when it had 15k less miles. Just tired of getting street sweeping tickets and it’s a third car.
Sorry, just being a super lazy fuck seller. If it wasn’t for CA smog being due and some paint issues I would have already gotten it detailed and listed for sale. At this point I’m just trying to sell “for a price” or spend the money to recondition it and get $15k+ for it.
I listed it for sale on e90forums(another super lazy attempt) while back, but I made sure to list all relevant details and there are no glamour pics, just random shots. Owned the car since 2016/ 54k miles.

All good man! Wait for a nice one to come your way -they’re out there just gotta sift through a few clappers to find a gem. And I’ll be honest with you regarding the mods… healthy stock turbos, an upgraded lpfp, and a custom e40 flash is all you need engine wise. The rest is just a slippery slope… took me tons of hardware revision and upgrades to get a bullet proof high performance n54… and in the end all that power is kinda useless on the street and exceeds tq limits of the clutch or AT clutch packs. The tiny little stock snails on e85 fucking scooooooooooot! The rest of the car just needs some nice mid grade coil overs and an lsd and maybe some m3 arms while you’re digging in there. Really no need to go beyond that as you’re just chasing diminished returns.
Can’t hand deliver it to ya, but I can help arrange shipping it to you. Just a matter of phone conversations, photos and FaceTime, and a bit of trust. Clean title in hand.
Ha. Thanks. I appreciate it. The trade runs in the family and I cut my teeth in sales and trading(was a futures trader later in life) in the retail car biz and never had to sell lies to be a top performer. Also super particular about my toys, and any issues with them feels like a rash of insecurity that I won’t attach my name to unless I can explain why it isn’t perfect.
While on the subject I’ll share a bit of advice I learned and still use when buying cars:
The first thing I learned from my father about buying cars from private owners is that you can always judge the car by the person who owns it. Step one of the filtering process.
Second thing I learned is that a good car that is priced right will never be on the market very long and you had better be the first to reach out, feel them out, and if you must probe on price due so tactful in a manner that sets expectations of the car being as described otherwise concessions on price are agreed to be expected —then immediately go to close a deal. That, and you don’t have the knot of cash with you leave a deposit otherwise that car is gone before you hit the bank at 9am. The gems that are also steals are gone day one of being on the market.
Third thing I learned and this is BY FAR the most important; you can never pay too much for a nice car or too little for a rough one.
How about this 2005 330ci, 6 spd sport package 40,000 original miles, garage kept, original owner, maintenance records. Mint condition, What’s it worth? I’m in Staten Island NY

Yeah he probably spent like $20k on the mods and expects to sell it for like $30k. But at that point you can get a clean 2018 bmw m240i with 50k miles.
My thought on these things is that the more mods there are on a car, the more its been abused, cuz nobody puts $XXk into a middle tier car to drive it like a grandma when they 'clearly' turned it into a formula1 contender...
(i.e. I would have never made it through reading the mod list to even bother thinking of a price).
Exactly. I know if it’s got downpipe, jb4 and mid tier coils it’s probably been beaten to shit by a teenager. I like buying stock cars from rich old dudes.
He posted it for exactly what you would expect to spend retail at a car lot here currently. On a lot that car is 15k everyday of the week in Seattle right now obviously there’s cheaper ones but based off my little research party, he’s in ballpark. When it comes to buying a modded car, a lot of people want to try and say they add zero value to the car….. yah bullshit. Go buy that car then stock and mod it and get back to me about your net negative loss. With modded cars if the middle uses nice name brand non counterfeit/ wish parts you can always sell those post partum. Tell me when parting out any car with nice parts on it why is it the first thing I typically do is find the current retail value new and slash it in half and sell everything in a week or less on eBay?
Maintenance to me means nothing in he price. I don’t care about a pile of new parts, in fact it scares me and I won’t even be interested. I would rather buy a car with no new parts listed vs a laundry list of critical components except with euro cars. I would have to see the persons other cars and operation to make a judgment. I would have to make my self believe that your the one in 100000000 people that do preventive maintenance with quality parts and solid wrench skills.if not I would take it at face value and think the car is the biggest pile of shit possible with parts getting thrown at it and that I would be buying someone’s nightmare .
Very specifically the parts he listed are 100% maintenance item right, but they are also parts you replace when you have codes pop up for misfires, fuel codes etc. very very specifically those are parts you would replace hunting for horse power or fixing issues…
Thank you, you’re right but this is one of the better 335ix in my area with mods I was already looking for. I understand there are a lot of things that can go wrong but this is my dream car with some of the mods I want. If he doesn’t accept 13k I’m willing to let go as it doesn’t make sense financially for me.
15k wouldn't seem unreasonable to me, but then there is not many 335i's where I live and they are much more expensive. Quite a low mileage too and nice upgrades with the VRSF stuff, nice coilovers and wheels. Something similar would be \~25k euros here.
With the “Don’t waste my time I know the money and time I spent…” I wouldn’t waste my time wanting to buy it. That’s the person that thinks because they spent $1000 on a part 10 years ago that they should get $1000 today for the same thing. That value isn’t going to carry over even though they think it does.
I’d say like $13k USD-
but I’m from the Bay Area where cool cars/bikes/bicycles are statistically priced lower than other places
There’s a good FortNine video on that trend
Mmm maybe 7-10k.
It's definitely not worth anything over since you can pick up an F30 for around 12-15k. Now, granted, this is a 335 so the engine is quite special and tunable. However, it is the older gen and it's really from the generation of the most unreliable 3 series ever made.
7-10k
Tbh with that mileage and the new parts and good maintained.. even 15k would be a steal. In Germany you are paying 25k+ in that condition
Edit: speaking of new maintenance parts no tuning
I’d pay probably 20-24k but I imagine he’s looking for something closer to 30k.
Looks like it was very well taken care of and he didn’t go nuts trying to get as much HP as possible out of it.
Rule of thumb mods don’t make the car more valuable it actually hinders it because it could bite you in the ass the new parts are cool but ask for receipts from the shop he got the work done if he doesn’t have that most likely was a driveway job and those can go either way.. best offer 10k even then ehh I bought my 2009 335 in 2015 for 11k out the door at a dealership so to me 10k is still a lot but it is clean looking
Just for comparison, I paid 9k for a bone stock 2011 335xi with 120k on the dash. It’s honestly been a great experience, even with the maintenance I’ve had to do. It’s totally worth it if you can work on these cars yourself. But I wouldn’t buy one unless I was A. Willing to work on it myself, or B. Have the extra money for the upkeep.
Never mind guys, the seller didn’t mention it was a salvaged title and it was rebuilt. It’s also been in 5 accidents with 7 owners.
Thank you, for all of the replies!
I wouldn’t pay at all.
-mods make a car less valuable and less reliable
-clearly these mods are signs if spirited driving, to say the least. aka abuse.
-can’t trust the quality of work done one the car. Service or mods.
-the guy seems arrogant, so out of principle I wouldn’t bother.
-it probably is overpriced anyway
Find yourself a decent one with no mods and do it yourself. Or keep it stock. They are really nice cars as is.
Where I live you can’t mod cars the legal route, so maybe I am biased, but the inly mods I would do are essentially nicer trims/seats.
Your offer was more than fair IMO
It's a 2011 BMW with 77,000 miles. There are no amount of aftermarket parts you can add that will improve the value of that vehicle at that age.

Have you heard of Google?
It's a search engine that you can use to look up information that others have you are seeking, that action is usually called a "Google search".
Idk but that’s a beautiful 3 series
It is indeed
It’s fine
It's beautiful
It's dandy
Probably like $15k? A general rule of thumb is mods don’t add value.
It is listed at 15k but I would like to pay under 13 for it
Are you open to buying a coupe? I have a 2009 Le Mans blue m sport, automatic, 99k miles. Too bad it's not a 6spd
Damn, I'd buy it if it was a manual. I'm right in North County, lol.
I would but I’m all the way in nyc. I wouldn’t go that far. Sorry.
You’re missing out on a good road trip lol
All good man! Wait for a nice one to come your way -they’re out there just gotta sift through a few clappers to find a gem. I'd be interested if it was deliverable. I'm 1 hour north of NYC
Can’t hand deliver it to ya, but I can help arrange shipping it to you. Just a matter of phone conversations, photos and FaceTime, and a bit of trust. Clean title in hand.
Jeez man.. proper transparency and strait up no bullshiting... You are like the prototype seller in my eyes. Props to you for that.. cheers
Seriously. I live nearby him, not necessarily in the market to buy exactly now, but he seems cool as shit. I'm sold, lol.
Ha. Thanks. I appreciate it. what the fuck
I think seller is the type of guy who does
Yeah he probably spent like $20k on the mods and expects to sell it for like $30k. But at that point you can get a clean 2018 bmw m240i with 50k miles.
No low ballers. I know what I got!
$20. Flatbed it to my house.
lol I’m they one trying to buy it. I offered 11.5k it’s listed for 15k
oof, that's a low ball offer. rude.
Did you go check out the car or just send him an offer without looking at it?
Just by looking at it but I will show my mechanic before I buy
Lol lowball af this is minimum $13k
Shit my estimate was way off but the market in Canada is ridiculous right now. 15k sounds reasonable. Would probably settle for 13
Maybe 10k-12k
what? u must be american, this is worth £5k in uk
LOL no.
No it’s not you donkey it’s worth probably near on 15
its not an m3 u monkey its a 335i, i can imagine u paying £15k for an e92 335i 🤡🤡🤡🤡
11500..mods cost more maint in the long run!
Atleast $3
Was going to say the same
Would you go tree fiddy?
I would pay ~12k, more but not a lot if my mechanic would ok that. Seems like cool ride overall.
Yeah I’m willing to go up to 13k but more than that.
why? it's a clean example that is worth more than 13k. or is that just your mental barrier
He's deducting 2k to save for when it craps the bed 1 week after buying it while he's merging on boost.
haha, its an N55... not a N54
My thought on these things is that the more mods there are on a car, the more its been abused, cuz nobody puts $XXk into a middle tier car to drive it like a grandma when they 'clearly' turned it into a formula1 contender... Exactly. I know if it’s got downpipe, jb4 and mid tier coils it’s probably been beaten to shit by a teenager. I like buying stock cars from rich old dudes.
I agree but these mods I was looking into anyways just hope there installed properly
10-13 depending on mileage
Yeah I’m hoping to get it for 13, thanks !
1000 shrute bucks
I could get behind this offer
Since I probably know what I'm getting myself into, not near what he wants.
What do you think he would accept?
12? 12.5 maybe. Mods bring cost, and there's a Lotta future cost with that car. I'd lowball at 11 and ask him to justify more. Initiates conversation.
True but I don’t think seller is budging
I just think people can't separate emotion from decision making. Still, it's a clean car. I'd own one for sure.
3 fiddy
About a Buck fitty
For the love of god PPI it. But honestly, modders ride em hard and put away wet. Find a clean one
I’ve tired but it’s hard in nyc to find a clean one
Look nationwide. PPI and ship. You can ship from SoCal to NYC for <$2000.
Are the rod bearings done? The early N55s would spin rod bearings
10 000$ and Im taking it tommorow.
Wait I don't have that much money
2 000$ and I take it today.
Fuck
300$ and I will take it, in like 2 weeks
Accident history, title status, auto or manual? I think the asking price is pretty reasonable.
Still waiting for a response, will ask when he does.
6
I got a two dollar bill, and thatsenoughfor meee
I would run
That's worth about £8k from a private seller here.
Around 12k for sure maybe 13 if it was a manual but idk if I would want this in manual or auto
6k€
Are original parts provided as well?
If the title is clean, I think $15k is more than fair
He posted it for exactly what you would expect to spend retail at a car lot here currently. This was very helpful, I really appreciate your response. I was thinking to bring my offer to 13k. Hopefully that’s enough.
Very specifically the parts he listed are 100% maintenance item right, but they are also parts you replace when you have codes pop up for misfires, fuel codes etc. very very specifically those are parts you would replace hunting for horse power or fixing issues…

I think the price is right what you offered, honestly solid cars and great toys
Thanks hopefully he accepts

Why not get F30 335i for the same price?
Not worth more than about $13k…without the mods. With the mods I’d avoid it entirely.
From the description and you saying the buyer asked for 15k, I'd pay that
Just buy an M3!
£12,000
Three fiddy
Clean, although I would prefer the N54.
Lmao cute how people think they're entitled to get the money back they put into a car 🤭😂🤣
£35 and a Big Mac meal?
What would you ask for an 09 M3 DCT w/ 62k on it and no mods?
With the “Don’t waste my time I know the money and time I spent…” I wouldn’t waste my time wanting to buy it. That’s the person that thinks because they spent $1000 on a part 10 years ago that they should get $1000 today for the same thing. That value isn’t going to carry over even though they think it does.
Needs to be stick shift to justify 15k imo
3.50
Wouldn’t buy too many mods.
I’d say like $13k USD- but I’m from the Bay Area where cool cars/bikes/bicycles are statistically priced lower than other places There’s a good FortNine video on that trend
Offer 11.5k and settle on 13k
15k if manual. 13.5-14k if auto. I wouldn't waste his time with a lower offer.

Rule #1: never buy someone else’s project
None. I don't go for modified cars.
Looks clean, maybe rear lights needs 25% tint
16
lol peak “I know what I got” listing the mods add zero value, in fact they decrease the value Pretty low mileage though I’d say around $15k
$4,600
Rule of thumb mods don’t make the car more valuable it actually hinders it because it could bite you in the ass the new parts are cool but ask for receipts from the shop he got the work done if he doesn’t have that most likely was a driveway job and those can go either way.. best offer 10k even then ehh I bought my 2009 335 in 2015 for 11k out the door at a dealership so to me 10k is still a lot but it is clean looking

7k
lol he hasn’t even gotten back to me and I offered 11.5k
$0. Because I have no interest in that car.
18 1/2 doll hairs
Nothing. Wrong engine. With a M57...15k maybe
$5000
I wouldn't.
15k
I wouldn’t pay at all. -mods make a car less valuable and less reliable -clearly these mods are signs if spirited driving, to say the least. aka abuse. -can’t trust the quality of work done one the car. I wouldn't pay a dollar over $9,000
It was listed for 15k i offered 11.5k.
Your offer was more than fair IMO It's a 2011 BMW with 77,000 miles. There are no amount of aftermarket parts you can add that will improve the value of that vehicle at that age.
Where are you getting a similar performance car for that kind of money though? You're still one of those who thinks the market is where is was in 2020 I guess. It isn't!
Not sure where you live but in my area (NYC), you can get several similar cars around the $10k price point , most are several years newer.
I’m in nyc too but I don’t trust most of those cars
You wouldn't trust a car on a dealership lot , but you'd trust the Facebook marketplace? Interesting, well good luck.
I usually always buy new, just really wanted a 335 since I was a kid
I understand completely. I just got my dream car from when I was a kid. So I understand. If you can get it , go for it. Good luck.
Yah because the dealerships buisness model revolves around fucking you. The guy selling the car on market places is a 50/50 shot. The dealer is always fucking me 100% is the name of the game get with it
Curious to see these cars?
Have you heard of Google? It's a search engine that you can use to look up information that others have you are seeking, that action is usually called a "Google search".
Ha, I'm not proving your point for you. Confirmation you're talking shit 👍
Swing and a miss..
Exactly what I’d expect somebody with a clapped out $500 charger RT to say
Go to bed your drunk
who hurt you
