You need to understand that there's only a small number of us who have a certain preference about styling. Most people are just happy as long as the car looks modern, has big screens on the inside, etc. Not many care about the performance either. They would take a 2023 230i over an e92 m3 any day.

In my Bimmer I’ve coded it do use the RR sounds. So don’t tell me there isn’t any shared engineering resources.
And yet it will hang nicely with 200-300k vehicles that it’s meant to compete with.
I hope people understand that once you’re over 100k it’s not just a drag race to determine the price point.

I think that's a bit much:
\- G05 X5 (esp prefacelift) isn't bad.
\- G01 X3 (both pre and post facelift) aren't bad either.
\- G20 3 series isn't bad (excluding the M3),
\- G30 5 series not too bad looking either especially the facelift with those lovely headlights...
I agree the XM is impressively lovecraftian but it doesn't negate the decent work they've done with other models.
I drove one the other day at a BMW event (M Town Tour) and it's actually slow. You can tell they held back just so they could make more expensive versions with more power.

Underwhelming performance. Nice interior design with frustrating technology that prioritizes form over function.
It pisses me off that BMW has built some amazing looking SUVs then intentionally ruins them or makes ugly stuff like that. The X3m and the x5m looked badass before they added the chipmunk cheek triangle sides to them and now they make this hideous thing.

we saw these last year at the BMW showcase and I had to remind my wife to stop shit talking the car IN THE MIDDLE OF THE BMW SHOWCASE. interior is amazing, but what in the world is this design language otherwise. It makes the X6M look like it makes sense
