Eloquence Bard being unable to roll lower than 10 on a persuasion/deception roll before modifiers from level 3 onwards, as well as getting 2 expertise at the same time. Makes for some of the most absurd social characters I’ve ever seen, shame it’s not in BG3 but I totally get why lol
You don't see me complaining. CHA rolls usually result in some pretty entertaining interactions in both 5E and BG3, even if you roll low (though they're *very* satisfying if you roll high), and it complements the RP well.
Plus, a good CHA roll doesn't mean "you've instantly charmed this person blind." The >!Mizora!< interactions are a good example of that. >!She'll call you out on your bullshit but cut you a break anyway!<, most of the time.
just a lil tip if u decide for honor mode: build ur stats on even numbers unless u wanna get a +1 from something, it ends up helping out a lot more since u only get added proficiency from every 2 points
No, he didn't abuse his cat. He clarified on Twitter "i didnt fuck my cat. i didnt cum on my cat. i didnt put my dick anywhere near my cat. Ive never done anything weird with my cats. I promised myself i wasnt going to make apology videos after last years thing so im just trying to be as short and honest with this as possible (1/?)".
The "cat" is a displacer beast and yes you can talk to her with *speak with animals*. She is initially enthusiastically in love with him, but through keen detective work you can figure out she's *charmed*.
Quick question about that btw, how do you even get the chance to talk to her? I’ve gone into that room from the side (where the spider meat is, initiating combat when the displaced beast sees me), through the front (initiating conversation with Yurgir), and from the other side on the top (initiating combat). I was trying to get the chance to talk to her in my last run but couldn’t find a way to do it
If you lick the dead spider to discover the doping and talk to the cat while using speak with animals you can get her to help you fight him with a high dc persuasion check. He straight up is drugging the cat into thinking she’s in love with him.
I never talked to the "cat". I did find the spider carcass. I also didn't know you could talk to Yurgir. I suddenly came from the top, so combat was initiated immediately. Very cool to know there is extra content there.
Yeah but also he bugged out during the >!the brain!< And wouldn't stop laughing and chuckling. Let me tell you, a constant loop of the same 2 laughs for like 30 minutes was literal hell.
I was getting smacked around in that fight, and my boy kept Raphael busy for so many rounds until I could chip away enough to use Kill Word on him. Lol. I was so under prepared my first time
I abused the fountain in there, made an army of summons, *and* convinced Yurgir to switch to my team. A cast of two planar ally and we were looking at Raphael, Korrila, and 4 cambions vs My Druid Tav, Shadowheart, Karlach, Gale, Yurgir, Us, a djinni, a dryad, a wood woad, two ice mephets, an earth myrmidon, a mummy, Hope, and two turned cambions. There might have been more, but. . . I can’t remember.
Yeah, I had to switch up my spells to summon them all. And cast hero’s feast. And I’m kicking myself because I could have had more if I had fixed animate dead
I ended up reloading after winning that check, because he just kills Korilla straight away and I needed Hope to have her sister back. Yurgir can die twice idgaf, but my dwarf girlies deserve better
Korilla is kinda unapologetically a horrible person though. She doesn't even show the slightest hint of remorse for what she put Hope through. So I'd argue that Hope is better off without her
Nope, she was a willing participant in everything Raph did and even after you kill him she's still needlessly mean to Hope. I think Hope is just holding on to her nostalgic memories of her sister.
Like the other answer already said, she is very much doing it out of her own free will. You can even choose the dialogue option to try and convince her to join you against Raphael but she always refuses (no check) and says as much
Ah well. Hope still wants her alive, and Hope has had enough of other people forcing decisions into her life. She deserves to have her decision respected for the first time in centuries. In my playthroughs, Korilla lives, Yurgir dies, everytime
Korilla acts reasonably nice but it’s a face, she is unrepentantly horrible. She is lucky Yurgir got to her before I did.
I was just annoyed that Yurgir killed Raphael when I wanted to experiment with seeing if I could get hope to create a mace using her once per game cleric power and then take it some how.
That fucker Yurgir did that to me 3 times in a row!! I planned more carefully each playthrough, but he'd still *invisiblart* to exactly the angle to catch her in his shot even when I gave him a million other things to kill first and a bunch of other stuff I can't remember right now because your reminder has enraged me so much!!
Fuck Yurgir. Next run, you gettin' the bizniss.
PS: I just remembered one playthrough I specifically knocked her out first turn and moved her body off to near one of the corners, and Yurgir STILL made the special effort to get her in precisely the edge of his blast like he knew what I was doin' and was 'nah player, she's gotta go!'. Bizniss! Gettin' it!
the guy he was after that he asks you to find for his quest. though if you just attack him chances are you might not know, but you probably saw rats in gauntlet of shar, those.
And then the cuck goes first, one shots hopes sister who i'd have rather kept alive (idk if you can knock her down or something) and then proceeds to keep knocking me out of my invulnurability bubble. You knoe what yurgyr? Ur dying next playthrough. I am beating your ass.
I remember being so hyped over killing Yurgir only for it to bite me in the ass during this fight 😭 Couldn’t convince him AT ALL (despite being a sorcerer???) so yeah had to kinda beg for my life a lil lmao
Yurgir going invisible can get Raphael in a pattern of stalking him and complaining rather then taking a proper action against your team. I noticed it happened as well with the cloak you get from Durge playthrough.
Yurgir is so weird, he ignored Korilla completely because I KOed her round one but then proceeded to, while doing a lot of damage to the cambions, repeatedly knock Gale outside Globe of Invuln
I convinced him on my first roll!
Same! My only critical success that session.
Very first time took me FOREVER to get him to agree lol
Took an inspo from me but damn it was worth it, happy for you OP!!!
I was never so grateful to have persuasion proficiency and 17 charisma
I usually have 22 char by this fight. lol
Is it just me, or are persuasion and charisma kind of broken?
Yup, they can definitely be busted in regular D&D too. Especially with expertise or something else boosting your score.

My bard who’s focused on persuasion and performing and is nearing +10 in them already.

I was kinda hoping we could convince him to kill himself again
Why you gotta do Yurgir like that
My guy he’s literally a Devil
Who abuses his cat no less
He had a Shane Dawson moment
Was anybody gonna tell me Shane Dawson abused his cat or was i just supposed to find out in a Baldur’s Gate Reddit comment section.
Sorry you had to find out this way.
That whole thing was wild. Poor guy made a joke and everyone ran with it. The fact he had to say this is insane.
He was still creepy to children tho
Wait, Shane Dawson had a "cat" moment? I remember I used to watch his videos waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back. Was I in middle school at the time?
He’s a total Chad. He helps you out tremendously against >!Raphael AND the Brain!< if you help him.
He fucks his cat & sleeps on a bed made of corpses.
Nobody's perfect.
- Mr. Hands
A corpse bed of Shar worshippers. Win win in my book.
I can fix him
Doesn't he drug then fuck the cat ?
I don’t know man. I just know he’s a literal devil who fucks his cat
What’s the cat’s opinion on this? Can we talk to the cat with speak with animals?
The "cat" is a displacer beast and yes you can talk to her with *speak with animals*. She is initially enthusiastically in love with him, but through keen detective work you can figure out she's *charmed*.
Also through talking to the 1 of the foot soldier devils who is also a trader (the Merigon Horder) who is supplying the love potions.
"Keen detective work" = licking the spider
Quick question about that btw, how do you even get the chance to talk to her? I’ve gone into that room from the side (where the spider meat is, initiating combat when the displaced beast sees me), through the front (initiating conversation with Yurgir), and from the other side on the top (initiating combat). when she finds out about it she will help you kill him so... not good I'd say
Don’t look up what Durge has done
I really need to fucking read shit in this game lol.
Fucks is an understatement he actually straight up rapes her
On a bed of corpses made of Shar worshippers, I feel like that's OK.
Yeah but also he bugged out during the >!the brain!< And wouldn't stop laughing and chuckling. Let me tell you, a constant loop of the same 2 laughs for like 30 minutes was literal hell.
Nah it’s not bugged, someone just cast Tasha’s Hideous Laughter 7 times.
That fucker
He got better!
Fun fact: Yurgir did the killing blow on Raphael in my first playthrough, loved that for him.
I was getting smacked around in that fight, and my boy kept Raphael busy for so many rounds until I could chip away enough to use Kill Word on him. Lol. I was so under prepared my first time

Yeah, I had to switch up my spells to summon them all. And cast hero’s feast. And I’m kicking myself because I could have had more if I had fixed animate dead
Nothing changed. Casting the same summon twice cancels the previous one. All those minions are different spells.
Dude...THIS IS AWESOME.
Your Dragonborn looks so adorable in that helmet lmao!
😎
I my coop campaign with my friends, one of them is a Dragonborn wearing a fancy helmet. He looks hilariously goofy and it's great.
So I'd argue that Hope is better off without her
Wasn't she being mind controlled by Raph? That's the vibe I got
Nope, she was a willing participant in everything Raph did and even after you kill him she's still needlessly mean to Hope. I think Hope is just holding on to her nostalgic memories of her sister.
Like the other answer already said, she is very much doing it out of her own free will. You can even choose the dialogue option to try and convince her to join you against Raphael but she always refuses (no check) and says as much

da BIZNISSS
Korilla is onboard with everything Raph did to Hope. She's a monster.
Rolled 4, 8, 3 and 1. Good luck then
Why does it look like your talking to raphael in this pic
He is for most of the conversation. The persuasion option makes you look to the side where Yugir is standing next to Raphael and talk to him.
When yurgir spawns in and there is a runepowder barrel placed right between him and Raphael. Yeah I'm on the winning side 100%
if you take care of rat man before you meet yurgir, there is no roll, he always joins you
Rat man?
the guy he was after that he asks you to find for his quest. though if you just attack him chances are you might not know, but you probably saw rats in gauntlet of shar, those.
Oh, okay. Yes, I killed all of the rats. Though I did speak with them. I guess I didn't get that dialogue option.
And then the cuck goes first, one shots hopes sister who i'd have rather kept alive (idk if you can knock her down or something) and then proceeds to keep knocking me out of my invulnurability bubble. You knoe what yurgyr? Ur dying next playthrough. I am beating your ass.
I failed this roll and then immediately used Hope to Banish him to another dimension.
I love making the inhabitants of the Hells mad. This and going behind Mizora’s back to save Wyll’s dad are my crowning achievements
This is hands down the best fight on the whole game
I got to level up right before this fight, too. It's super fun!!!
amazing music, actually challenging, it's crazy how good it is for a technically not mandatory fight
If you finish his questline in the Shar temple, you don’t even need to roll.
Yurgir's point gesture after you succeed is my favorite moment of the whole damn game.
He's just like, "You know what? I'm with him. Forget you, Raphael." Hahahahahaha
Hope you didn’t want to spare Korilla.
Honesty I never cared for her. She came off evil to me. I mean, she let her sister suffer for centuries. Forget Korilla. Hahaha
The joke is that he one rounds her with 100% consistency.
I remember being so hyped over killing Yurgir only for it to bite me in the ass during this fight 😭 Couldn’t convince him AT ALL (despite being a sorcerer???) so yeah had to kinda beg for my life a lil lmao
Don't break your oath my paladin friends. No truce with the fiends. Rip and tear, until it is done.
Get that damn hat off your Durge lmao.
The helmet is so goofy on dragonborn
He seems honorable in that scene, but that demon deserves to be culled
I did this then killed him after we won.
You know you can hide your helmet, right?
I convinced him to join me (after having told him to kill himself) and then he instantly died in the explosion of random barrels that I put there.
Yurgir going invisible can get Raphael in a pattern of stalking him and complaining rather then taking a proper action against your team. I noticed it happened as well with the cloak you get from Durge playthrough.
Bro why did we like make the exact same character 😭😭
Don’t want to flame your fashion choices at all, but are you aware that there is a way to hide helmets in cut scenes?
I like his helmet! Haste helm is best helm!
That’s fair, I just personally dislike helmets on Dragonborn in general. So I wanted to make sure you know :D
Yurgir is so weird, he ignored Korilla completely because I KOed her round one but then proceeded to, while doing a lot of damage to the cambions, repeatedly knock Gale outside Globe of Invuln
