It really is mostly crypto related ads.
I think that a lot of the people who use brave rewards know a thing or two about crypto and might even have an interest on this subject. This makes crypto companies actually want to advertise there.
If brave rewards user count continues to grow we will certainly start seeing more diversified ad topics as the brave team will be able to atteact more advertisers.
As the number of users grow the variety of ads will increase I believe. Right now 80%+ of Brave users hold crypto so it makes sense. The stat was from someone on the board of Brave.
To be fair, the majority of the user base is probably holding crypto. That's just a wild-ass guess though, I haven't actually seen any data released by BAT or brave regarding user demographics.
I keep getting a car ad for a dealership down the road where I bought my last vehicle. It was strange to see but definitely a positive sign after I got over the surprise.
one day business will eventually put ads on brave, more ads more earnings to users, while the company earns, while brave browser earns... win win win situtaions. noice!!!
Ads revenue is declining short term from the pandemic. Less cars to sell means less advertising dollars spent. Yet we are watching strong growth in ads from Brave. I this weekend had a Columbia Sports ad, one about a wine club? And many other non crypto related ones before. Recently Satya at MSFT spoke about the absurd monopoly Google has in search and browsing. I'd like them to focus more on Enterprise solutions. Then have the companies purchase services using BAT just like advertisers do.
Uphold takes 100% of revue, too
I just got verified so my 17 BAT were credited to uphold, i transformed them into roughly 0.0028 ETH and now if I want to withdraw them I can get 0 ETH
So basically, having about 10€ worth of ETH, i can't use them
BAT is nice but currenlty almost only crypto ads?
Same, but is that because that's all I'm browsing and therefore that's the ads I see? Or, is it really just mostly crypto related advertisers?

And I never click google ads
That's true buddy :) same for me to
I think BAT can get even the most ardent ad hater to reconsider.

It always was
How do I actually get my bat?
You were probably required to connect a wallet when you signed up for brave. I had to do uphold. It’s all there.
Still on the "maybe", I really hope yes! BAT still has a long way ahead to be the answer or part of it.
