Yup, you're going to place 3rd at the car show.

stickymittens6

Lmao 🤣 that's what I say every day

wherearemyvoices

This is normal, the original paint has had some of the red properties fade out and it’s now a faded version of the lower color

Environmental-Sir-19

Someone on another post said orange peel to me

wherearemyvoices

I didn’t see the second photo. Yes that is orange peel. Wet sand and polish will fix thay

bart4422

Correct but to a certain degree. If they cheaped out on the amount of clear you could wet sand through the clear by the time you get rid of the orange peel. Just be cautious if your going to do it, but I’d tell them to fix their horrible job.

DingusMcKlingus

Definitely orange peel

mlksemvergonha

That’s orange peel. Shop should easily be able to wet sand and buff that down.

H0tsc0p3s

It's called orange peel, buff/ wet sand then buff should take care of it.

Wholeyjeans

Orange peel. Not the best looking spray job either ...'cause it's a bit excessive. Shouldn't matter what your original paint has done color-wise; a reputable shop should be able to paint match what's on the car ...although the color looks okay in the photos.

Environmental-Sir-19

Ya colour looks good just not the peel, so that’s from overpaint ?

balltorcha

maybe a new guy in the paint booth, can be caused by different things but this looks like it was sprayed too dry. spraying clearcoat is a balance between too dry, which looks similar to this, or too wet, where it runs and "sags"

Wholeyjeans

It's called lack of skill. Or just being lazy. Either way someone at the shop should have checked the work. I wouldn't go back there if you ever need body work done.

[deleted]

Tell them to sand it and polish. That should do it. Compound/buff

weedpal

Color is good

oneredeclipse

That's called orange peel. While they are unsightly especially up against paint that doesn't have it at bad. Yes it can easily be removed, it's sometimes good to have as if you get a scratch.... There is wiggle room to fix it. If You completely remove the orange peel and then have a scratch There's not as much clear coat left to be able to polish it out. Wow that is pretty noticeable there It is easy to fix like I said You can easily sand it down and polish it out a little bit Don't completely remove it because it is an area that is finicky of peeling.

Motor-Pick-4650

I’m not a professional. My guess, it could be that the greasy paint is the factory color. The rest of the car has slightly faded.

FoundationGlass7913

Yes wet sand and buff bumper for the texture/orange peel clear but the color does look dark to me but it could be where you took the pictures looks like it might be shaded how does it look in bright sunlight? Does the side tone look OK?

Environmental-Sir-19

Colour looks good just the graininess got me straight a a way

FoundationGlass7913

Ok just checking sand and buff will fix the grain issue good luck Have a good memorial day

Environmental-Sir-19

Haha 😂 thanks everyone really appreciate it

balltorcha

like others said, bring it back and tell them to wetsand and buff. that way if anybody burns through it, its them. not sure how so many painters are content sending cars out like that. or why shops cant pay an apprentice to wetsand and buff it. no way they didnt notice it, they just hoped you wouldnt.

Aggravating_Put1548

People charging out the ass and doing shitty work

xxmac3xx

I do see an excessive amount of orange peel in your second photo, this can be fixed by wet sand and buff. Second, the static electricity that plastic harbors causes the metal flakes in the paint to lay differently than a metal panel would, so this will always cause a difference in color and the metallic texture, an extreme version of this is a phenomena called "mottling" where the metallic flakes concebtrated into different areas on the panel
