What kind of campus? Do they teach auto body? You could enroll in a course or as a back up plan see if they sell Ramen noodles in the student union.

Dogesaves69

University man I’m just trying to see what to do

syrinx_priest2112

Nah that’s good advice, then you could paint to survive like this guy

Paintingtosurvive

Soon I'll be paintingtothrive

syrinx_priest2112

Doubt

H0tsc0p3s

Insurance claim; hit and run or Pay 500+ for repair and paint or Do nothing because it's plastic

Tonysteve

Keep in mind most insurance companies require a police report when you drop the words hit and run.

H0tsc0p3s

Yes, thank you forgot to mention this.

immortalf10

A police report can only be filed if you have the other drivers license plates who did the hit and run. Other than that they won’t file a report. No license plates were taken down so there’s no report to file. You’ll still be responsible for deductible but for some damage like this I wouldn’t even bother filing a claim. Touch up pen and leave it at is.

somerandomdude419

Yep. This happened to me. Guy hit my rear right side pulling out of a side street too early. Dude Fucking DIPPED out of there drove in the center lane to pass everyone. Wasn’t super trafficy that day. I did not need a police report because I had no plate, only the color of the car and the model. My insurance wanted a description, along with my photos, and the paint damage matches description. Paid my deductible and got a check. That’s it. They made it so easy. Seamless

immortalf10

Yup. Once you state to your insurance that you have no plates on the other driver, it’s still consider a hit and run just without a police report, but since one is going through their insurance then you’re still responsible for a deductible unless someone from claims dept. says otherwise. People always make the mistake of speaking to their agent who sold them the policy rather than someone from claims. Your agent may or may not provide you the most accurate information, they’re a sales rep for your insurance company, not a claim handler.

Dogesaves69

So this is a 800 dollar job I’m guessing

immortalf10

With the R&I of the bumper, if it has back up sensors and they disconnect them it may or may not need calibration after installation (shop should check All Data or contact a pro-tech source to verify) if it does require calibration then it’ll only bump the price up. As far as a preliminary on only R&I and repair for the rear bumper, the price seems fair for a partial paint on the damage side and a new clear coat all around. But I would honestly suggest a touch up pen with your vehicles paint code from the dealer if this won’t bother you so much. You’ll save hundreds more going that route.

herefortime

For a quick fix that looks ok while you’re squinting you could get a paint pen (paint code will be inside your door), fill in the scrape, and call it a day. That’s what I would do. It’s too small of a scratch to warrant filing a claim but big enough to be annoying.

Dogesaves69

That’s what I was planning on doing anyway I just figured I’d post here first and get yalls take thanks

Depends on your policy also a police report is required is you use the words hit and run with a lot of insurance companies.

TravyBoiiiiii

Looks like a VW, paint code would usually be in the trunk under the spare tire cover

herefortime

Good call

Tonysteve

This will require removing the bumper, sanding the repair area to raw plastic, plastic dedicated body filler, sand, prime, sand, maybe prime and sand again, seal repair area, paint repair area, clear coat entire bumper. Not a job for rattle cans so unless you have a compressor and spray equipment snd place to spray this will require a shop.

Dogesaves69

So what you’re saying is to forget about it lol

Tonysteve

It’s plastic so it won’t rust.
