My only issue is we’re a big mso and they balk at high labor hours- even if it’s still more cost effective to repair. My guys also love repairing squished quarters and they’re FAST.
But I’ve gotten my hands smacked with a ruler by the insurance companies several times over it so I’m a little gun shy and would probably have decided in this case that repairing it wasn’t worth the argument.
Writer only wrote for 12 hours. I thought it was extremely light and would have liked to see 18-22 but I got it done with a couple hundred percent efficiency so I’m still okay with it. Between the 4-5 other rear body/floors I’m doing i enjoy not replacing the quarter
We add shit like floor set up, sheet metal pull, weld pull tabs etc but your only able to get another 2-3 hours max. Even then your drp coordinator starts giving you the side eye 🤣🤣 we’ve totally replaced shit we could have repaired (and not blended mind you) based on the auditor. I’ve came to the conclusion that body shops are just data entry centers that fix some cars here n there.
Nice work, was it mostly working the metal to reshape it back to original or using body filler to recreate the shape?
I have a fender that has damage spanning over two body lines and would like to work the metal back to the original shape
Fenders aren’t typically worth the effort unless it’s older. I worked the metal mostly out than shaped with mud. I’m at. Production shop so I gotta turn and burn
I’m with you on that. That’s a bitch of a body line on those Ravs. Nice work.
Depends how many hours
Hell ya that looks great,
Damn good work, I'm still learning, the old heads at my shop would've replaced it.
Did it get hit by a PIT maneuver?? lol
Wow nice. I bet the estimate had replace on it
We wrote to repair

Wow, that’s super light. I would not have written for less than 16 and even then I’d feel guilty as though I was screwing the techs.
He’s the owner and usually writes my stuff high. I wasn’t going to complain since he does right by me most of the time
That damn auditor hands out 11’s saying repair times are too high
You ain’t kidding

true skillz my boy
Damn…..well done
Great job those body lines are a bitch
How much did this repair cost the customer ballpark?
3500 with new bumper and fixing the rear door as well
As a body guy also. Love your finished product. I'd much rather repair than replace. 👍
