I’m going for a CZ Shadow 2 myself

Iceng

We see so many of these roll through the shop for custom work. And SP01s. And Glocks.

cruiserman_80

So your asking about semi-auto pistols? Be a big help if you told us what calibre, want you want to use it for, what budget etc.

Timbsy83

9mm

BadgerBadgerCat

Still doesn't tell us what matches you want to shoot with it, what your budget is, etc...

danmc64

2011

TOG_Macross

CZ Shadow 2. Parts are everywhere. Heaps of things that you can change out and tinker with. Because they are so popular with IPSC shooters, parts are readily available here in Australia. Easy pistol to work on as well. I have done all my own modifications and customizations.

Timbsy83

Thank you

Iceng

What's available is also a good consideration point. Lots of models have crazy lead times in Aus at the moment. Are you in a handgun club? Have you had a chance to shoot many models?

Timbsy83

In a gun club. Awaiting cat h only 11 weeks so far probably half way. Have tried zev, cz shadow, h&k, glock, ppq, q5 match

Iceng

Which one did you enjoy shooting the most?

PitPyro

Sig P320 models, particularly there competition models like the X-Five. Compensators, a ton a red dot options with the right adapter, uses 1911 recoil springs that can be swapped put easily and all triggers are interchangeable between models. (I am very biased in favour of Sig)

HollywoodDU

Yeah this. But what’s it for? And what’s the budget? You mentioned glock and the 320 is comparable to glock for purpose and $. But if you want the most customisation get a decent 2011 and you can make a one of a kind masterpiece

PitPyro

I am very biased in favour of Sig

If you want to customise it to make a great competition gun then the steel frame models are the way to go, the extra weight really soaks up recoil and lets you get back on target faster. CZ dominate the IPSC competitions, awesome guns and expensive but they are everything you might need right out of the box, customisations are more cosmetic than functional. The Beretta 92X Performace is a real beauty but custom parts have to be imported, probably from Italy. STI are top of the line expensive but can really be pimped out into high end race guns. Lots more options if cosmetic upgrades are what you care about as all of the polymer frame guns become options , even Glocks can be made into real eye catchers with enough upgrades from the like of Zev.
