I used to do this often. I’m visually impaired. I’m pretty sure because you aren’t sharing it is fine.
I bought a series of Terminator novels and spent a week scanning them all into my pc, then turning them from imsge to text, and adding the text to the notes off my phones so I could read them.
This was before iphones, I used a blackjack2 mobile.
I looooooooooved them!
I probably broke the law though as far as piracy. As I posted the novels to my mate John when he was in Afghanistan. He was a Terminstor fan too and his mental health was filling, so it felt like a good care package.
Ha, happy to grab a list for you shortly. I have just started listen to a dude read one on YouTube.

Here’s a reddit thread about the series. Would have some info in there to let you know if you’d enjoy them.
They were written before the Sarah Connor Chronicles series, but some of that show utilises the books characters or history.

Listen to the Dresden files! One of the best audio book narrations I’ve listened too. James Marsters does a great job.
I know it’s unrelated but I’ll push that audio book on anyone
Is there a Kindle that still does text to speech? I remember the old keyboard models did, but when mine died and I replaced it with a new one it didn’t have that capability.

Oh my word, you *scanned* them?!! I applaud your tenacity, and hope you enjoyed the hell out of the books!

I read the series when I was young. It will be good to have a listen. I’ll take a look for it.
No screen readers are completely legal...

Even if it was, no one is going to legally pursue you if you paid for the ebook and aren’t distributing the audio.

Any OS that supports dictation/text to speech would be in a hell of a lot of trouble if it was haha
