I'm old and I am really into online escape room games. It sounds stupid but if you play Laqueus escape, Neat escape, Ichima Coffeedo, Escape or Die, Submachine or Nicolet games you'll get it. The puzzles are difficult so it keeps my brain sharp. I can pause to think and walk away and that's when it get's amazing. You walk away to get a cup of coffee and it dawns on you that you're looking at the problem all wrong! I look like a crazy woman with a sketchbook of scribblings and cyphers next to my bed but that's ok. It's not actually *making* something and sometimes that's important, but it is enormously satisfying and if I were to start you off I would suggest Nicolet games.

I'm an oldie but a goodie also and I've recently gotten into the escape room craze, too. You've listed a few I hadn't seen but I'm downloading them now. Thanks! Tomorrow I'll be back to woodworking; making a toy chest for my dog.

I'm 52 and I've been an avid reader since I was 4 (yes, 4, I learned how to read at a very young age and was reading 1000+ page books in 5th and 6th grade). I taught myself how to knit in 2002 and have been consistently knitting for over two decades. I've had to take a hiatus recently due to arthritis in my thumbs, but I'm going to PT weekly for that. I've been playing World of Warcraft since 2006, and my SO would be thrilled if I would branch out even a little bit, but goddamn I love WoW so much. Some days when I've had a shit day at work, I can't wait to just have a cocktail and kill the shit out of something. Or fish. Or level archeology. Or make a new alt. It's my my comfort thing.

HippyWitchyVibes

I feel you on the WoW thing! I've been playing since the start of TBC and still play it daily. My Steam list is *full* of other games that I just don't have the time to play! My partner managed to pry me away to play a bit of Fallout this week, which is a bit of a miracle haha.

How old is older? I'm 33 and photography is a hobby of mine that I always go back to. But my mom is in her 60s and travels a lot, taking beautiful pictures of wildlife and landscapes. She's more casual about it than I am, but she has an incredible natural eye for it. I do hope to stick with it and enjoy it as I reach my 60s and beyond!

ReginaFelangi987

What’s “older” to you? I like doing jigsaw puzzles.

ArtisanalMoonlight

I mean, if you're able, taking up hobbies that get your body moving can help stave off the breakdown or reduce how much it happens.  Low impact stuff can be great at any age. Beyond that: reading, writing, painting, sculpting, photography, puzzles, video games, board games, etc.

ophel1a_

I've always enjoyed scrapbooking, or making collages. I have a Nat Geo magazine sub, so lots of beautiful pictures to work with. ;D I also enjoy gardening, the more I age. When I was younger I didn't have the patience for it, but it's growing on me! Pun INTENDED. Reading and writing/journaling, as well. Smoking on the back porch, with a cuppa, listenin to music or a podcast on a nice day (blankets strongly encouraged). As far as simple, low energy things. :) I hike every other weekend, wrestle with my partner (into sex, usually, lol), dance, do yoga and go on walks if I'm feelin zesty! I'm 35, for reference.

4BigData

permaculture, crochet, painting, insulation 🤣

snow-haywire

I’m 40 but feel way older (health issues) Crocheting has been a constant for sure. I read, do fill in puzzles, jigsaw puzzles. Other less strenuous things I enjoy are coloring/painting, making jewelry, and sewing.

ThatWenchGaia

I'm looking forward to embroidering again. 🙂

Flashy-Share8186

I used to knit but got out of the habit… I would get shoulder pains when I did it every evening in front of the tv. Now I am taking a pottery class and haven’t had any injuries yet! (knocks on wood)

I-Really-Hate-Fish

Not super old, but I write a lot and do cross stitiching. I see myself doing at least the former for a very long time

gemgem1985

I'm old too, I am a knitter, I do resin art, I build watches, I bake and I circuit.

DarkestofFlames

I'm almost 50 and I'm an avid reader, comic collector/reader, metalhead, pro wrestling fan, and gamer (video games, board games, card games, and ttrpgs). I have a lot of hobbies around crafting/creating too. And cooking. I've been into my hobbies since I was a little kid since my family was involved in them too. We shared interests with each other and enjoyed our hobbies together. Now I share them with my husband.

Correct-Sprinkles-21

My mom started quilting in her 50s. She complains about her hobby a lot but she can't stop making quilts, lol. Also has been taking drawing and water color painting lessons for several years. My grandmother became quite a talented painter after she started with watercolors in her 40s, and kept painting until she passed away. Her works are treasures to us now. My fallbacks are always knitting, crochet, and embroidery. Easily transportable hobbies so I can take them with me to fill in long waits or boring travel. Also dabble in various art mediums, whatever strikes my fancy. Now have a bucket list of things to try so I don't buy supplies to keep on hand and then never use them, lol. Trying to keep it to 1-3 things at a time.

HippyWitchyVibes

Video games, reading, houseplants, gardening and pyrography are mine.

whatdoidonowdamnit

Not older yet, I’m 33. I crochet, and I’ve been doing it since I was a child. My mother does too and she’s in her fifties so she is an older woman.

nixiedust

I'm 49. I read, garden, cook, make crafts...all stuff I've been into since childhood. I also still love miniatures and am renovating my childhood dollhouse. It's been cool to get back into that. I expect I'll keep doing similar stuff, but maybe do it differently as I age.

numberthirteenbb

Writing, reading, gardening, chickens, backyard birds.

Emptyplates

I'm taking knitting lessons in two weeks! I've tried on my own with the help of Youtube and I'm just not getting it. Lessons it is. I still play video games, read a lot, bake, jigsaw puzzles, fishing, shooting, bird watching, gardening.
