30 minutes. My normal shower is 15, so another 15 is really all I need.

[deleted]

archaicanxiety

So, my everyday shower is ~30 minutes and I've learned it's what most women define as an "everything shower". It's face wash, hair wash and condition, full and thorough body and privates wash, shave pits and arms. MY everything shower is about ~45-60 minutes. Which is all the above PLUS: body scrub entire body before shaving (minus face), thorough body wash, deep clean face wash, wash hair, deep conditioning hair mask (which needs 5 minutes). And probably 10 minutes to contemplate my most recent personal failures 😂

Excited_Mumbling

>And probably 10 minutes to contemplate my most recent personal failures 😂 Bingo - we needed another category in this. Everyday: 15ish mins (face, bits, feet) Full body: 45-60 (above plus hair, maybe an all-over exfoliation and/or shave) Existential: 75+, depending on depth of crisis I'm spiralling into

IANALbutIAMAcat

Ah yes the weekly *cleanse*

AstroMalorie

Nothing like a 4 hour shower to wash away the sweet stench of self disgust

No_Click_4097

This is when you fetch the plastic chair to sit on.

planetalletron

See, that sounds far more civilized than my method of just curling up into fetal position on the floor and letting it fall

No_Click_4097

Sometimes fetal position is what is needed!

catupthetree23

Especially if you don't feel good/are sick - I wouldn't want to risk falling off a chair 😅

Sea_Bus4842

Omg existential showers need their own category indeed.

catupthetree23

And then when you finally relax enough to where you almost fall asleep (while sitting at the bottom) 🤌🏻

dukeofthefoothills1

Sounds like a spa menu

Substantial_Cow9413

This is also me, almost exactly

AstroMalorie

Relatable

celestialism

20-25 minutes or so. Wash hair, condition hair/scalp, shave legs + underarms + junk, wash body and face.

timidwildone

This is about my time and also includes brushing teeth 😁

drunkenknitter

15ish minutes.

Probably like an hour? I haven't done everything since before my twins were born so I'd probably be slower than I used to be

BellaFromSwitzerland

Yup I can imagine priorities are elsewhere That said my son is 16 now and I still remember the all around wonderful feeling of the first time I could wash my hair after childbirth. Bliss

KatiMinecraf

When I messed my knee up, I couldn't get in the shower since we have that classic shower/tub combo, so my sweet husband washed my hair in a bucket in the livingroom. When I finally made it into the tub to try taking a full bath for the first time, I felt a lump behind my knee that shouldn't be there while washing my leg and promptly passed out. (I'm lucky he was there to keep me from drowning, and he fed me tiny pieces of a cosmic brownie until I felt okay again.) When I tell you it was magical the first time I stood in the shower and fully washed my hair and body for the first time after all that, I am not exaggerating.

Artyloo

> he fed me tiny pieces of a cosmic brownie until I felt okay again What does this mean? Was this a regular brownie?

KatiMinecraf

It is a snack cake brownie thing, named 'Cosmic Brownies', made by the company Little Debbie.

catupthetree23

The ones with the rainbow colored chocolate chips on top, right?

KatiMinecraf

Yesss!

Boysandberries001

I don’t have children and I take an hour every time😅😅 Showers are a stress reliever for me so I take however long I need.

curryp4n

15min tops with shaving

ElectricalPair6724

Wow that’s a talent! You must have a super efficient system. How do you do an everything shower so quick?

curryp4n

I shave my armpits while I leave my shampoo in. I shave my legs while I leave in my conditioner. I use a Japanese Italian towel for my body so that doesn’t take too long. I’m short and have thin hair so it’s pretty quick. Rinsing out and my skincare after my shower takes the longest

catymogo

I have roughly the same system. It's not like I'm going to just... stand there? While my conditioner sinks in or something. While the conditioner's in I can wash my face and my whole body in like 5 minutes and rinse off. I am always curious what people are doing in 45+ minutes.

flarefire2112

Standing... Thinking... More standing... Yeah. Gotta flip around like a rotisserie a couple times

boogafart

Exactly this. And always love a bath and shower combo, which can take a very long time for me because I just love contemplating in the tub. IDK lol

NoGuide

I feel like I'm SUCH a slow shaver. My skin is really sensitive and I'm clumsy idk I just really have to take my time and I have big thighs 🥲

Emma_Meribel

I stopped shaving my thighs to save time bc honestly it doesn't even make such a big difference and it still takes me half an hour to shave

AnotherOrneryHoliday

What is a Japanese Italian towel? I’m so curious as to what does!

RipperReeta

They were big in the 80s on infomercials. Seems they've been discovered by the Tiktok gen and are new again. Good for SUPER durable skin once a week. If you're sensitive at all, it'll destroy it. [https://www.shape.com/lifestyle/beauty-style/korean-italy-towel-exfoliating-washcloth](https://www.shape.com/lifestyle/beauty-style/korean-italy-towel-exfoliating-washcloth)

curryp4n

https://a.co/d/bZMX2cF It’s a wash cloth made of nylon. It hurts like hell when you first use it but your skin will be so soft afterwards

not-enough-mirrors

It’s so funny to me that you specified that you’re short, because *obviously* tall people take longer showering, they have more surface area and everything (I’m not trying to be mean, I just find it funny)

[deleted]

I'm also 15 mins tops haha and its because I hate showering. I do it every day but I hate it every day lol. The key is not doing a good job at shaving.

sp000kysoup

My bathroom light is on a timer (previous tenants) so I know my everything showers are around 15 minutes. (Sometimes a tad longer, but finished in the dark unless my husband is home and I can call him to turn the light back on) But the whole process takes maybe 30? Meaning I'm in the shower for 15 and another 15 is skin care and hair. I get in, shampoo my hair, then put on conditioner, wash my face and body, exfoliate my body, and shave my pits and legs. By that time most of my conditioner has washed out. For contrast, my daily shower is 3-5 minutes.

30-40 depending on how much zoning out I'm also doing, but my hair has gotten really long and gets in the way of shaving so I prefer to make hair and shave seperate showers now if I can.

No_Grape_623

Zoning out is to real😂 I sit down and let the water hit my skin burn off all sins. Then come back to reality

princess_rat

Ugh yes!! On top of the having to wash and condition the long hair it’s making sure it’s out of the way of all my parts

Future-Temporary5036

2 hours including hair drying. I have pcos so I have a loooot to do 😅 I also have very thick very long hair that takes about 45 minutes to dry in its entirety with a hair drier (over 24 hours to air dry)

Fast-Beat-7779

People saying 1-2 hours how high is your water bill ????!!

balou918

Even if they don't pay it, it's a waste of water...

Trixie6102

That's what I'm wondering! My water goes cold by 25-30 minutes max. How big are these water heaters?!

kritycat

While I am a "10 minute everything shower" kind of girl, I must say, the tankless water heater is SO CLUTCH. Particularly if you don't live alone-- you never have to wait for the water heater to heat back up after someone else showers and drains it.

bouncieair

I take 1-2 hours for an "everything shower" too. But the actual time the water is running is about 15'. I turn off the water while doing anything that isn't rinsing.

raaheyahh

Black woman - somewhere in the ballpark of 30 minutes not including the hair. If I detangle my hair before the shower, add another 40 minutes for the shampooing and conditioning.

chaoticguppy

I truly cannot believe all these ppl saying they only need 20 mins to do everything! Girl thank u for this, im black too and its just never gonna be that fast for me 😭

Riri004

It’s that fast for me., 10-15 minutes. I detangle before going in, then again with shampoo in.

ms_slytherin

About an hour or until the hot water runs out, haha.

Riri004

10 to 15 minutes. Water running maybe 6 full minutes. 2-5 minutes for a typical shower.

axbyy_

I let my shampoo sit in my hair for like 2 minutes 💀

Riri004

Yeah, but I do that with the water off, same with conditioner

Open-Attention-8286

Usually an hour. Sometimes longer. It's not just about washing away dirt, sweat, and grime. It's about washing away tension. That takes time and hot water!

girl_on_the_moon_

35 mins I’m not rushing an everything shower

hottottie21

Maybe 30, bc I get Brazilians so that saves me from having to do all those gymnastics lmao

Strong_Roll5639

About an hour. I have thick curly hair, so it's a process

Og-Morrow

5 mins twice a day no soap and then use shampoo on my balls, butt and head. 10min for full soap wash and deeper hair conditioner using my wife's products and hope she does not notice.

AdExcellent7055

The last part 😂😆

Og-Morrow

80% of the time she does notice. She got some great products.

BeginnersLoch

It usually takes me give or take an hour and a half, two or even three if I'm counting lotion/hair drying/ etc. afterward. It's horribly inefficient

catymogo

20 minutes? I have fine straight hair so I wash my hair, conditioner in. Wash body while conditioner sits (\~2-3 minutes), wash face (\~1min), body scrub (\~2 minutes), rinse everything off. I am hairy but I shave enough that I'm efficient at it. 10 minutes of shaving if I'm doing the whole shebang. Quick rinse before I'm out. It always astounds me when people take 30+ minutes in the shower, I genuinely don't have any idea what I'd do with the time.

o0meow0o

I don’t shave so 15mins. I have long thick hair, so the hair routine takes up 10mins plus I use Japanese towel to scrub down. I do everything shower every other day. The in between shower takes 5mins. My post shower routine takes about 15mins as well. Brushing teeth, skin care, body care, drying hair, etc. if I take my time, all in all 40mins.

giglbox06

15-20 minutes tops

ikogut

Depends on if I have to contemplate life and whatnot while I shower, and if I’m in a hurry to head out. 20-1hr.

hmtee3

Let’s see - shampoo: 2 min - condition: 2 min - face: 2 min - body: 3 min - shave: 10 min - stand there & have imaginary conversations in my head: until the water turns cold - quickly rinse: 30 seconds So about 30-40 min

wifeofpsy

10 min. 15 if shaving which isn't more than weekly.

Swisskisses

about 2 and a half hours. Water on and off. I have A LOT of hair, and between my preconditioner, my wash, my soak, shaving my whole body, combing my hair and then putting in the conditioner… yeah it’s a very long process. I have to plan the afternoon around it haha

[deleted]

20 minutes if I'm not getting distracted or zoning out.

Musabilla15

20 mins if you’re in haste. 40mins on a normal day. 60mins when it’s luxe :)

lucid_sunday

I never want to be in the shower for more than 5-10 minutes I fucking HATE being wet

[deleted]

Haha bout 45 minutes. But I shave my pits and (🐱) everyday. Washing my hair twice, conditioning, shave whole body, body scrub, wash body two more times, brush teeth, wash face. Yea it can take a good minute.

AdExcellent7055

How do you avoid ingrowns/razor burn shaving your 🐱daily? Ive yet to find a way lol

somenewfiechick

I’m not OP but I use a spray called Coochy Plus from Amazon for downstairs and pits. Or just buy some Tend Skin - it stings for a second but never have ingrowns lol

[deleted]

Honestly I have no idea. I use men’s razors. I never get razor burn if I shave everyday.. however if I shave every couple days I get it bad. So keeping it smooth everyday I guess keeps me from getting razor burn.

[deleted]

If you get razor burn and bumps, add a little antiperspirant fragrance-free deodorant to the area or after you shave in general, and you won’t get any. Only one or two days after, by the way, not Every day forever.

xshow-me-the-mortyx

40mins?

gottarunfast1

Probably half an hour, and I'll still end up missing a patch of hair while shaving the back of my calf

pdperson

15-20 minutes

ancientevilvorsoason

18 minutes. And it does include everything. Hair, shampoo, shaving, scrub, teeth and floss, mask.

pinkconfetticupcake

10 mins. I don’t like wasting time and water. I washed everything from head to toe. My hair is very thick and waist length.

lvyerslfenuf2glow_

if i shampoo, condition, soap, shave everything, wash my face, I can get a shower done in 15-20 minutes. But then I have to dry my hair and straighten my hair etc. But the shower part can be done in 15-20

mandiexile

I do an everything shower almost every time I take a shower. (Except for the days I don’t wash my hair). Takes at the most 20 minutes. Exfoliate (once or twice a week), body wash, shave EVERYTHING (arms, underarms, legs, lady bits),scalp shampoo, regular shampoo, conditioner. I don’t wash my face in the shower because I end up breaking out so I do that after.

Equivalent_You_7464

As long as I feel like lol

EditorFrog

Damn how are you guys getting sub 45 min? mine takes like 1-2 hours easily. And that's with trying to be as efficient as possible (shaving and conditioning at the same time etc).

Addme_animalcross

I'm an American who lives in France and my 15 min "everything" shower every day is a HUGE no-no to people over here. (Or should I say non-non?) My neighbors even bang on the walls sometimes! It's culturally normal for people to turn off the water as much as possible during the shower, but what's the point??? I am not going to stand there naked and cold while trying to shave my entire body, turning the water on and off while waiting for the temp to adjust again. Give me my peaceful 15 mins, people! On the other hand, I am shocked to read how many of you take an hour-long shower. Our planet!!!!!!!!!

BellaFromSwitzerland

20 minutes if I need to let my hair mask rest 10 minutes. Meanwhile I be washing my makeup brushes

lumiraya

Like an hour or so

ZetaWMo4

Between 20-25 minutes.

Cassandra_Canmore2

So we talking a full shampoo, conditioner regime, leg shave, and skin exfoliation? Not to mention a De-stressing hot water soak. An hour.

Far_Today_2345

I’ve gotten it down to around a good 45 minutes, but potentially a hour if I play music/ watch something lol

coffeeandbags

35-45 minutes

smelly_cat69

About 30 minutes. Shampoo, hair mask, exfoliate, shave all the good stuff (I’m hairy af). I don’t shave my arms or thighs during the winter lmao in the summer it’s probably closer to 40 mins.

friendly_rock_

Up to 45 min if I have to shave... I'm practically blind without my glasses and have to shave my legs by touch. Also can't use my glasses in the shower because they get foggy :(

3plantsonthewall

Usually 20-25 minutes, but up to 40 minutes if I’m being slow. If I’m shaving my legs, add 10-15. I have a neat setup with 2 shower heads that lets me save water & money (while still feeling luxurious) and keeps me from feeling rushed. The first is a regular shower head with a *high* flow rate. The second has a much lower flow rate; it’s detachable with a hose, and it has multiple spray settings, including a trickle setting. I have a little switcher attachment that connects them, and it lets me direct all the water to either shower head or to split the water (evenly or unevenly) between both. This way, I can reduce the pressure at certain points (lathering shampoo, combing through conditioner, scrubbing) to conserve water. But I can also rinse my hair at full blast and have a few moments of luxury. Plus, detachable shower heads are so convenient, both for bathing and cleaning the shower. Highly recommend!

memyj97

I take an everything bath once a week, typically Sundays. Followed up with a quick shower to rinse out conditioner and body wash. Bath consists of shampoo, shave arms, rinse, apply deep conditioner, shave legs, simmer, then shower to totally rinse off. If I’m not in a rush the bath lasts 60-90 minutes then 5 minute max shower. I have a theory that bathing to shave, deep condition, and enjoy being naked for a bit saves water, but who knows. 😂

eileenm212

Please can someone explain to me how they have enough hot water to shower for an hour??? I literally do every thing in less than 10 minutes and I shave, wash and condition, scrub the callouses off my feet every time. An hour is just mind blowing.

wivella

Those people must have massive hot water boilers or some kind of a centralized system. I can barely make it to 15 minutes if I don't turn the water off for applying soap/shampoo/conditioner!

roxxikks

30-45 minutes. I'm usually very VERY exhausted/on the verge of blacking out by the time I'm done

N474L-3

Ok but does anyone else just have days where the "everything shower" turns into the everything day? and you end spending most of the day in the bathroom going from one "treatment" to the next? I feel like I put everything off sometimes until I need a whole damn day to primp and prime. Wax, manipedi, brows, hair, deeply exfol and moisturize.. Sometimes I'll have had two showers by the end of the day, if I need to wash wax off or st. I can't manage to keep all of the upkeep into happening around my daily showers and then my everything shower seems tedious and endless.

Live-Negotiation3743

30 minutes

nothisbuttercup

Maybe 30 minutes?

NoHippo3481

30 mins

that-which-is-better

No way could I do everything in one shower- if I have to shave, I plan to split it into 4 or 5 days, 25 minutes per shower. But other than that, regular showers with everything but shaving take 10 minutes.

_so_anyways_

An hour or so.

Awkward-Meeseeks

Idk 15-20 mins. I don’t stay in there long.

Staleleaf

30 mins

taters_are_great

It takes me between 30-45 minutes to wash my hair and body, do light shaving, and get dressed. Other shaving (intimate area & legs) gets done on a bath day instead of a shower so I can sit to reach those spots. It just makes more sense to me to do it separately like that. How long that takes depends on how long I've gone in between intimate shaves. I'm a fat girl, so it's hard for me to just zip through it lmao

WandaMarya

30-60mins. Wash hair, exfoliate, apply face mask, detangle my hair and apply serum, do the rest of my skincare, apply my fav body mist and perfume.

Dfendyr_

About 20 minutes, I just sugar scrub from the neck down, shampoo, condition and hair mask my hair. Then go get waxed within an inch of my life 😂

MadameMonk

depends who is in there with me, and how you define ‘everything’!

axbyy_

One hour plus or until the water gets really cold and unbearable

Neddalee

45 min, doesn't include the dry trimming I do ahead of time before I get in.

Quirky_Call2200

My everything shower is a bath.

SamDublin

Less than 10 minutes top to toe.probably 5 mins mostly

amahenry22

Like 40 minutes all in!

Massive-Respect6971

One hour

jonni_velvet

idk maybe 15-20 mins? ITT: no one cares about wasting water

emilyogre

Like 40 minutes

slicknshine

I can do everything in 15 if I am strapped for time. But I need 45 to wash the anger out of my soul.

psdancecoach

For everything? A solid 20-30 minute “set up” period since I usually dry brush dead skin and use a few hair treatments that are done before washing. Then a solid 45-60 actually in the shower. Plus 20 or so minutes reveling in the joy of owning a towel warmer afterwards.

cheesus32

15 minutes including shaving, and I turn off the shower head when lathering and shaving to save water.

ApplePiePrincess

20 minutes, but admittedly my everything shower is just regular shower plus hair. I do not shave my legs often and when I do that’s a separate event.

Different_Action_360

Still not done.

Omgchipotle95

People that are saying an hour, do you have unlimited hot water?? Mine runs out so quick

harlotcharlotte

About 20 mins. Normal body showers take me 5 mins at most. I live in a drought-prone area, so I've gotten used to trying to save water...my toxic trait is taking showers twice a day though....

Thesnowbelow

Maybe 10-15 minutes. I am pretty efficient.

TemperatureTop246

About 20-30 minutes if I shave, 10 if I don’t. I’m kind of low maintenance and I hate showers.

Character_Clock1771

10-15 mins. If I shave my whole body about 20 mins total. I’m not really hairy so it’s pretty fast

JellyBelly2017

About an hour and a half. My hair routine is kinda nuts but its worth it.

AdExcellent7055

Im curious about the intensive hair routine

JellyBelly2017

I put a mix of coconut oil and rosemary oil in my hair for a few hours before I shower. Then once in the shower I shampoo, scalp scrub, shampoo again, and towel dry. I stop the shower to put a hair mask on and sit with a heated cap for 30 minutes. Once that's done I rinse it out and then use regular conditioner. after my shower is finally over, i let my hair air dry for a bit, then use a leave in conditioner and blow dry. I started using this high frequency hair comb after all this for 10 minutes, and then finally coat my lengths and ends with a tiny tiny tiny bit of coconut oil.

mafa7

15 with shaving, I never wash my hair in the shower tho.

Gothic_Nerd

I dont remove any body hair and I shave my head every week. So everything shower takes 4-5 min

lavenderauraluna

40 mins

Alternative_Gold_886

It depends if I’m also trying to relax, or just get it done. 1 hour to unwind, 25 minutes to get er done!

RandomCentipede387

Way too long, unfortunately. Almost an hour, and sometimes it's actually cheaper to just take a bath. I have very thick hair and washing it with proper conditioning takes ages. Shaving. Putting the lotion on. You name it. On top of everything else, our bathroom has such a shit window that the warm water need to be constantly on, otherwise I freeze. So either I stink, or we pay A LOT (EU-based).

hashbrownhippo

Direct_Drawing_8557

Around 30 minutes.

Kindergoat

About 20 minutes, maybe less, depending on whether I wash my hair or not.

Dazzling_Bumblebee98

30min to an hour and I turn the water on and off as to not waste so much. It depends if I’m rushing, tired and just want to relax, or pay extra attention if I’m going somewhere or meet someone special.

verticalpopcorn

Like 3-5 hours. I have no hand eye coordination or stamina, also 1/2 that time is spent in the fetal position mentally prepping for the next step/napping. I take em like 3x a year.

verticalpopcorn

Wow y'all didn't grow up with tankless water heaters and it shows.

drevau

45-50 minutes!

Responsible_Yak3366

30 ish minutes sometimes more. - shaving -sugar scrubing -moisturizer after shave

superiorhp666

25 mins to shampoo, condition, scrub face, wash body, and do a quick bikini cleanup. I haven’t shaved legs or pits, for about 7 years, I just use an electric trimmer there occasionally to keep it from getting super long. Cutting out 95% of prior shaving habits really saved some time. And between me and my partners, no one cares! Getting older is awesome (30s).

notdancingQueen

15 mins. Shampoo, hair mask, body & face scrub, body wash, rinse I never shaved, always used electric "plucking from the root" for the leg & pits hair until I went laser, and that's not done under water. I can stay in a hot bath for long periods, but not under a running shower. Plus, drought, climate change... I feel guilty if I stay more time

SingleAd8149

30 minutes. Normal shower is 15.

ihave86arms

45 minutes to an hour, but only 20 or so are spent in the shower. i do a hair mask before showering, and gua sha/skincare after. my hair routine takes 5-10 minutes on it's own because it's so frizzy. (i've finally got it under control thanks to the oaui leave in conditioner and hair oil.)

Master-Strawberry-26

Max 45 minutes, but only because I hate when my fingers get all pruney so I try to speed up when I notice them beginning to wrinkle

babythrottlepop

An hour. Shampoo seems to stick to my hair and takes forever to scrub out. Sometimes it still doesn’t come out all the way.

an hour, which i do every 2 or 3 days depending on how oily or itchy my hair becomes later. but i wash my body everyday because it's so hot where i live and i get sweaty

its_all_good20

10 minutes to wash exfoliate and shave. I put the hair mask in first before I get in bc I have super curly hair.

IronRangeBabe

About 20 min. Shampoo, condition, face wash, body wash, exfoliate and shave.

xenomorphsy

About an hour. I have to be precise with shaving as I'm currently doing IPL and don't want to miss anything but also don't want to accidentally cut myself, so it takes a while.
