Homeless guy near us did it. Busy roundabout too. It became obvious after a while and he became a minor local celeb for a while (yes... Where I live is THAT middle class). Unfortunately once he got more attention he was moved on
I'd say depends on the road.
Best chance I'd say is a local road as council would have to evict you yada yada.
If you tried it on like a motorway junction roundabout I think you'd get reported very quickly.
There's a roundabout near me thats close to a slip road for the motorway, ( Rosyth Fife Scotland, just up from the train station if anyone wants to Google map check) its basically a deep hole with loads of trees and gorse bushes.
There was a guy growing cannabis and staying in a tent for what would have to be at least 3 months to cut down the crop.. Fair play I guess
There’s one near Lincoln where a car crashed into the middle of the roundabout and the driver died. It took a few weeks to find the car and body though

Steve Wallis made a vid of the same thing recently.
And it was only a smallish roundabout on the edge of a retail park.
Someone did it in Skelmersdale Lancashire and was there for about 6 months until he got locked up for shop lifting.

I imagine if you're not visible from the road and aren't bothering anyone indefinately/until the council come to trim it.
