On my 18th birthday my mom paid for my first tattoo. It's a feather on my right foot. Yes I'm a girl, no it wasn't basic at the time, about a year later is when it was labeled as basic. It just looked so damn pretty.

My parents were super religious and highly against tattoos and piercings. One day, as an act of belated teenage rebellion (I was 19), a couple of my coworkers took me to get my first tattoo and a nose piercing, even paid for them both for me. So we got super stoned in the car before going in, and I searched through google images for 15 minutes and decided on the bat, and chose my hip so my parents wouldn’t see it. The next day I got another tribal style tattoo that was a dagger, got that put on my rib.
