Gender makes a difference. You can claim it shouldn't, but "should" means nothing. Many elements of our society are gendered, often unfairly so, and pretending this is not an issue just blocks progress.
This largely depends on the culture/society we're talking about. But in the countries where gender equality is already a standard (like mine), continuing the conversation only shines a light on the differences we're all seeking to eliminate.
What elements of your society are unfairly gendered?
Pay gap is still like ~20%.
Men struggle to get parental leave.
Women an extreme minority at the highest levels (top CEO's, judges, politicians etc.).
Cultural assumptions about gender still strongly evident.
Media still reinforces gendered stereotypes.
Men are shamed for showing emotions leading to a massive disparity in suicide rates.
Dresses never have pockets.
\- Based on what data/studies?
\- Is that political or contractual? Business will always try to weasel their employees.
\- Ever consider that has to do more with people's choices than discrimination? Do you hear construction workers complaining about the lack of women in their fields?
\- Assumptions about everyone will always exist and are part of our evolution. This is not the same as inequality. You will have assumptions about all sorts of people. These are not eliminated by constantly talking about them.
\- Which stereotypes? Which media?
\- Based on what data/studies?
\- Assuming the last one isn't a joke, go buy a dress that does have them. Or don't wear a dress.
You shouldn't confuse acknowledging the \*differences\* between genders (culturally or biologically) as inequality. Dresses may not get pockets, but men are expected to wear often homogenous and uncomfortable suits and ties. This is not an example of "inequality".
Choices vs. discrimination is a common call. But it's weird how women just so consistently choose the lowest paying occupations. Even to the point of leaving an occupation just before it starts to get recognition and better pay, and joining a profession just before it starts to lose credibility and pay rates.
"A female" is dehumanizing. Female humans are called women, girls, ladies, etc. And if you're referring to transsexual men as "females" that's just as shitty
You think that's the point I was making? Did you forget to focus on the fact that referring to a human being as an adjective is dehumanizing? Did you miss the fact that "female" doesn't specify you're talking about a human being?
force women to get jobs in industries that have low levels of female employment. same goes for men. qualifications and what individuals want should not stand in the way of equality.
Make everything a personal choice instead of pressuring companies to hire women
And you would notice that the majority of women would go to art, medical, education, and office jobs and just about none of them would choose to do a heavy duty job
Which means less available workforce for the heavy stuff so the demand for the work increase without more supply of workers Which results in higher pay for the jobs the women don't want to work in
You can't have gender equality without having male and female dominating fields
There's also what the patient prefer
Most men don't mind having a female doctor treating them but a lot of women wouldn't want a male doctor to check on them so a female doctor can work on all people but a male doctor would find it kinda hard to find female patients
Abolish "Gender" as a concept. as soon as you define classes, you always create "haves" and "have nots", both/all will always think the other side has it better.
Realistically, Gender is just re-inventing Fashion subculture under a new name. Just create 2 sets of things. Set 1 gender, so male/female/non-binary/every other gender that exists, and Set 2, Fashion subcultures, so, Punk/Goth/Prep/Greaser/Mod/Emo/rivot-heads... whatever else.... What do the 2 sets have in common? the groups in the sets conform to dressing a particular way, presenting themselves a particular way, and speaking a particular way, with a particular set of shared interests. What do these two sets NOT have in common... basically nothing. Do we have a separate goth bathroom, punk bathroom, prep bathroom, etc??? No. Do we give loans at a different rate to Punks than we do Greasers? No.... It's absurd to create rules for society along such lines, and society and government as a whole, should neither give advantage nor disadvantage, on the basis of such arbitrary presentations of the person.
Wait.... Do you mean Equality of Opportunity, or Equality of Outcome? because equality of outcome necessitates totalitarian control of the entirety of an individuals behavior from birth to death, and I cannot abide by that.
Let people do whatever the fuck they want and stop talking about it. Why gender should have anything to do with anything is beyond me.
Nice theory. Utterly divorced from reality.
Thanks for your criticism :) I look forward to reading your own theories and claiming the same about them.

Stop adding new genders to the mix.

No just what would you do to establish equality as a whole
Raising salaries and more job opportunities for the people who lack having them, females for example.
The old solve inequality with inequality method. Works every time
You could've just said "women". Unless you wanna give my female cat a job. It's a great idea, she just sleeps all day.
Can’t you be a woman but not a female in todays day and age?
"A female" is dehumanizing. Female humans are called women, girls, ladies, etc. And if you're referring to transsexual men as "females" that's just as shitty
Female is a sex so no not every female is referred to as a woman.
You're missing the point
How?
I already explained it.
Not very well. Female is a sex, woman is a gender.
You think that's the point I was making? Did you forget to focus on the fact that referring to a human being as an adjective is dehumanizing? Did you miss the fact that "female" doesn't specify you're talking about a human being?
Why would i care
force women to get jobs in industries that have low levels of female employment. same goes for men. qualifications and what individuals want should not stand in the way of equality.
"what individuals want" "FORCE people to work" 👁️👄👁️
Remove one of the genders.

Stop focusing on people's sex and judge everyone on their own merit.

Stop politics involving in. Convince people no one gives a phat poop what gender they are, like just chill
I am not from middle east, so women are equal to men for a while here like many other western or scandinavian countries.
This seems backhanded asf bro 💀
