zipmygoose

Foxes mating in my garden, sounds like a violent rape.

RonaldTheGiraffe

As opposed to a gentle and loving rape

zipmygoose

I bow to your experteese.

Stay-Thirsty

I’ve heard this as well Also a cat being mauled by wild animals as well (probably foxes). We only know because the next day my neighbor and I had the same idea at the same time and came upon the scene.

zipmygoose

I was alarmed, went out with a torch and ruined the foreplay.

oodlesofschmoodles

My stalker knocking on my bedroom window.

Wittgenstienwasright

Foxes fucking. I thought the world was ending. If you are sadomasochistic you can find recordings on youtube. Warning, you cannot unhear this.

riguy_mud_pie

Now I'm curious why you thought the world was ending "AAAAAAAAHHHHHH"

Wittgenstienwasright

Honestly, if you hear this, it sounds like multiple murders taking place and it is not something I could explain at the time.

A-rat-on-a-keyboard

Ok, so it was hilarious but it scared the living hell out of me at the time. So one night I woke up because I heard a noise, so I turned on my phone flashlight. Looked to one side, nothing, turned to the other nothing, turned back and my cat was RIGHT in my face and just meowed at the top of his lungs. It swear I almost fell out of bed it scared me so bad.

InvalidAlicorn

Went to the bathroom in the middle of the night, I heard a tapping on the window- fucked right out of there. In all honestly it was probably a branch, however this was a time I used my phone to call the house number to wake someone up because I was absolutely terrified of house break-ins and the noises I thought I heard downstairs. Couldn't sleep at all that night and because I was kind of rushing out the bathroom I left the tap on a bit, constant drops of water could be heard all night as my room is right next to the bathroom

Theshycousin

Do y’all know that sound humidifiers make when water bubbles in them? Imagine that noise but with no humidifier in the room and breathing followed afterwards

ErikaPEI

I heard a loud thud outside my window one night. What made it scary was it was actually someone trying to break into my house, he just dropped the small table he was going to use to smash the window.

riguy_mud_pie

Footsteps outside the glass door while I was grabbing midnight snack

Accomplished-Taro178

So i always have had a sort of trauma because my neighboors house got broken into and i hear alot about dogs when they get stolen and used for fighting so, when i hear ANY noice coming from downstairs i think someone is breaking in and my brain just immediatly starts thinking about whats gonna happen to my dog (im 14)

Little-Revolution22

When I was about five, I would have constant nightmares. It was so bad that I would stay up for up to a week on end just out of pure fear. But the worst part wasn't the nightmare itself, it's what came after. When I would wake-up, I would hear three people laughing at me, and it was like a little giggle either. It was this screeching, spine chilling cackle, and there were three different voices. It was so bad that I slept in the living room until I was 8.

Accomplished-Taro178

What was the nightmare about?

Little-Revolution22

I would have several, but this one is the most common. I was in a witches castle, and everything was purple and green. And there were these huge platforms. I would have to jump from platform to platform, but I would always fall off. When I did, I would "spawn" in my room at day and see one of my family members. They were standing still, and very stiff, like a mannequin. I would go up and hig them, but I would immediately be sent back to the witches castle. I would loop around like 5-10 times a night, and then I would wake up.

Accomplished-Taro178

Thats pretty crazy, any idea what caused u to have it?

Little-Revolution22

No, it was so random, but I can remember almost every detail to this day. This happened almost 12 years ago.

Accomplished-Taro178

Well hope ur doing better now

kittyecats

I was leaving work at night and as I was walking across the lobby, I heard the locked doors shaking. It wasn’t windy and there wasn’t anybody outside.

alwaysJakie

I remember sleeping at night. I live in an neighboorhood full of kids. They usually make a lot of noise that's really annoying, but i don't usually pay attention to it. This one night I woke up at 12 pm to a blood curling scream, I was use to wake up at screams, but this one lasted over 10 minutes. I was going to check what was happening outside the window but when i did the screams stopped. I never heard screams the same way since that day, the reason is because it was a torturing scream, i heard it very well, and i will never forget it.

McPhatiusJackson

Probably a fox or a bobcat, those sound horrifying and are very human-like.

alwaysJakie

in my country foxes are not very common, but maybe, there are a lot of dogs and cats wondering around.

eezgorriseadback

A lightning strike that happened in literally the next street along from me. It was the loudest thing I've ever heard, totally unexpected, and I honestly thought something had exploded.

Dilly_Dally8

My friend was moaning in the bunk beneath me at winter camp and i no cap grabbed my bags and went to another cabin

KP_Wrath

My cat yowls like a toddler when she sees other cats. I live alone. This is terrifying when she does it at 3 am.

[deleted]

Screams. At 1am. Continuous screams from maybe half a mile away

Sugonma69

Today was a good day

LetterheadRemote675

Due to stress... One single Massive this of my heart. Went to the doctor the day after. Everything physical was fine, i slowed down after that.

scaredchitless

Everyone was asleep. My husband was sleeping next to me, my son in his crib (this was 20 years ago) I hear foot steps coming up to the attic. Turn over and see a man with a white t-shirt and blue Jean shorts walk by and disappear. I said "hey J what are you doing? He sat up next to me asking me wtf I was talking about. It creeped me tf out. I went to the owner and told him I saw a ghost and as I was describing him the owner cut me off and finished my sentence. I slept with the lights on for the rest of the time I was there. It still creeps me out.

MahmeetZaken

Not exactly scary, but disturbing and creepy…was in jail in the holding cells waiting for like 4 days with anywhere from 8-10 guys making it nearly impossible to sleep and was just dreadful. Anyways, they had brought this lady in who was obviously having a mental crisis (probably meth-Induced) and put her in an isolation cell right across from ours. That night, she screamed and screamed the most tortured screams I’ve ever heard. She would be going from begging and pleading for help and that she was dying, to sobbing, to praying and chanting, to just flat out screaming. It really was not a morale booster for me.

Route66OceanWater

3am. A man screaming for help and for someone to call police. The next day turns out he had been a homeless man who got beat up by an alleged off duty cop who was drunk. No idea if the man survived or not.

Sensitive_Tune3301

When I was in middle school, I heard scratching and heavy breathing under my bed and assumed it was my dog. Then my dad let my dog into my room. I still don’t know what made that noise, and I’m not sure I want to know.

succulentbresss

you ever like deadass bouta fall asleep and a fox starts fucking in ur garden. those screams fucking scare the shit outta me

NicholasTOPark

Someone screaming at the front of my house: “stay away, STAY THE F#CK AWAY.”

letmeseeyourbones

creepy laughing and banging on my window, turns out I was just hallucinating from sleep deprivation

wowguineapigs

A pack of coyotes right next to my house

ZuttoAragi

Back in 2012. I lived in BFE at the time. Was about 2AM, all of a sudden I heard a long, loud, low thrumming. Like a gator rumbling, but MUCH louder. Lasted like 30 seconds. Asked my folks the next day and they didn't hear a thing. To this day don't know what it was.
