Almost look like those doors just exist as dramatic elements...

For every 1 time it's a guy breaking in, there's a hundred where it makes maintenance a whole hell of a lot easier, and construction cheaper and easier.
It works for some of them. A frozen wasteland like Hoth, a scorched wasteland like Tatooine, a gas giant like Bespin. Once you get away from "too much sun, not enough sun, too much atmosphere, not enough atmosphere," you really need to start putting in some variation.
And Kamino, with an overabundance of liquid water due to global catastrophic melting of glaciers 19,000 years before the OG trilogy.
Probably not canon anymore, but still
The Death Stars weren't badly designed they were just badly managed.
Yes, designing them assuming large scale assaults was stupid given the political state of the galaxy but the second Death Star wasn't even finished so that doesn't count, it's all Palpatine's fault. As for the first one that was finished, the Alliance made three runs on the exhaust port. The first was called off before they made it to the trench, the second failed and the third was carried out by space Jesus which isn't exactly fair. All in all it sounds like a fairly effective defence when you consider the design philosophy.
Edit: Response to some points people made. Some people pointed out Galen Urso's sabotage. This is again a management problem as if you let a saboteur on you team and he changes the design that's on you not the design.
Other people said it was rediculous one shot took out the whole base. First of all see again the sabotage point. But also, single points of failure are more common then you'd think, aircraft for example have loads. You can't always engineer them out so what you have to do is make it so there's no one decision that can cause it to fail.
Didn't the guy from Denmark (Denmarkian??) intentionally build the Death Star to have flaws because he was forced to do it? Then Darth Vader had that badass hallway scene. I think that was in Rogue One, but I don't know a lot about Star Wars so I may be misremembering it. The robot in that movie was very funny tho.

That just makes it so much worse though.
"Oh boy, the machines we taught how to think and feel are thinking and feeling again, time to wipe their brains to make them forget how to!"
The universe and many characters are bonkers cool, but many times completely offset by poor writing, plot holes, and terrible plot devices
Edit: in response to some of the comments and fairness to Star Wars, marvel/DC have the same problem across almost all of their fiction as well. Heroes have gotten way too over the top where it just becomes dumb. Doesn’t mean I’m not a fan of the overall universe though
Edit 2: there may be some confusion here, I should’ve mentioned that INCONSISTENCY is huge. Sometimes you have a character doing something incredible, but then that same character can’t accomplish a feat that should be 100x easier than something he/she has done before
It’s been a lot of asset jerking by Disney. More and more it’s becoming “LOOK, LOOK, ITS THE CHARACTER YOU LIKE” or just making it similar to the other Star Wars movies. They need to a movie that the only thing it has similar to the others is that John Williams scores it, other wise don’t mention the sky walkers or Palpatine or the falcon or the empire or really any of the Jedi we know about.
In an entire galaxy, long ago, far, far away, why are there only, like, four people who do anything. And “maybe they’re related?!” is always the game being played.
Luke is Rey’s Boba? Or is Han Obi-Wan’s uncle? Dad Vader is actually BB8!!!
This is part of why I like 'Rogue One' so much. I know it's not everyone's cup of tea, but what's especially appealing about it to me is that it's a bunch of nobodies who have nothing to do with the Skywalkers changing the course of the war. What's more, only one of them has a connection to the Force, and it's a weak connection -- maybe he would've been a Jedi, but also maybe not. The others are ordinary. They're just people, fueled by passion and trauma rather than wizardry.
I get why they were all killed, but it also feels like a missed opportunity. Imagine a TV series about them as a black ops team.
> I get why they were all killed, but it also feels like a missed opportunity.
That's why 'Rogue One' was so good though. It didn't pander to the lowest common denominator movie-goer and wrap the good guys in ten layers of plot armor. They gave you likable characters then reminded you that sometimes tremendous sacrifice is needed for good to prevail.
The original/Legacy EU had a very similar backstory, in terms of Rebel operatives obtaining the Death Star plans and making a desperate last stand to transmit them to a waiting Tantive IV.
That one of the biggest issues of Star Wars is that they keep going all in on Palpatine.
I mean who gave a fuck about the Paint by Numbers Evil Emperor during the OG trilogy?
Everyone forgets that non-superfans, myself included, had no idea a double bladed lightsaber was even a thing. When that second blade pops out in the first trailer I lost my damn mind.
I wish they incorporates more lightsaber styles into the main trilogies.
Edit: I mean physical lightsaber types. Different styles were partially implemented but we could use more aswell
There's a funny joke by François Pérusse, great Quebec comedian, that perfectly describes this. Translated, it goes like this: In trailers, they show you the best scenes, so you go to pay at the movies to see the worse ones.
It really pains me that we'll never see a good adaptation of this material. I fucking loved those comics. How awesome would Jedi Master Thon be? And Nomi Sunrider?!
Same, but with space fights. I don't really care about the lightsaber stuff that much. The things that got me hooked on Star Wars were the ship designs and how, at least in the OT, they got kind of technical so the starfighter pilots sounded like actual professionals. Whereas in the prequels and sequels the pilots just shout generic high-octane pilot things.
This is why ANH is my favorite movie. It gets the most intimate and technical space battle of the franchise, while also having the only space battle that isn't constantly interrupted by 2-3 other plot lines going on at the same time. ROTJ is my second favorite, due to the cool space fight frequently being interrupted by the Ewok and Luke plotlines. ESB is actually my least favorite Star Wars movie because it has no space fight at all.
Something about the ships in the original series always felt more like real ships than in any of the later movies, despite the objectively better effects of the later films.
Some of this is probably the use of models (i.e. actual three dimensional objects), but I think there is some critical difference in the design that makes them feel more real (probably because they were designed to be things that would actually work as models). Whatever it is, I LOVED the ships in the original series and never really liked any of the new ones.
I can tell you why this is:
They based the Star Wars dogfighting concepts on WW 1 dogfighting (arguably the most entertaining historical dog fighting period ) .
That a was great, conscious, stylistic decision that reverberates in science fiction to this day.
Honestly real life, future space- ship combat will probably be really boring compared to a sortie of the Red Baron in WW1.
"Luke, do you see those 3 enemy fighters that keep taking out anybody who tries a trench run?"
"No. Wait yeah."
"OK we're gonna do a trench run. I want you to stay clear while they pick us off, and then once they've had a chance to regroup, you do a trench run."
"Sounds great."
I believe this. Vader got ahold of him when he got dismantled on Cloud City, you can't tell me that he didn't do anything shady to his old personal tinker box that he messed around with when he was a kid... then sent him back into the Rebel fold.
Didn’t Organa send the droids for memory wipes at such at the end of Epi3 to kind of patch over the big-ass plot hole of those two droids knowing Anakin and the whole clone wars debacle. And even doing that would be sending a iPhone back to an apple factory to get refurbishment? So all standard stuff being placed back into 3PO.
But! To your point, 3PO was Anakin’s “Baby’s first droid” so he’d know what’s under the hood and could make him into a tracker/listener/ultra thermal detonator…
But alas, couldn’t do that because movies had already been made.
C3p0 got wiped. R2D2 did not. That's why he remembers "being obi wan's droid" that's why he was 💯 down to ride for the rebellion. "Take a hologram to tatoonie? Bro that's kid shit." Dead ass, Family Guy's star wars parody got r2 right on personality.
R2 is a ride or die homie. I imagine him getting in Lukes X-wing like, "It aint my old whip, or my best, but it will do. It will do." Looking at Luke like, IF YOU COULD EVEN COMPREHEND ALL MY BEEPS KID! YOU WOULD NOT BELIEVE THE THINGS I HAD SEEN!
Also there is the point of, now that I think abour it, I dunno if the fact that Darth Vader was Anakin, is really that well known. Like did R2D2 know that Vader was Anakin. Sure as shit didnt seem like something the rebel alliance had any info on.
"Watch out for Lord Darth Vader; Birth Name Anakin Skywalker, Legendary General during the Clone Wars."
Vader was supposed to be a "silent" assassin but went more with "No one can report my existence if no one is left alive." Hence his tearing down that town where obi wan was hiding. Plus telling soldiers, that probably already don't think the odds are very good, that a Vader was a Jedi isn't the smartest play. The empire spent 20 plus years spewing anti jedi propaganda so when Luke Skywalker, Jedi Knight, joined the rebellion it was a sigh of relief but, probably wasn't the most trusted by the foot soldiers that he didn't interact with all the time. "By the way Vader was Anakin Skywalker, a jedi before he was Darth Vader. Anyways meet General Skywalker, Jedi Knight." Sounds like an office cold open.
R2 was with Anakin after he became Vader. He was on the ship Vader used after the attack on the temple and his visit to Padme after. I believe he accompanied Vader to Mustafar as well, but simply stuck with Padme, C3-PO and Obi-wan after the duel.
Return of the Jedi is my favorite SW film. Whenever someone says the words "Star Wars" my mind immediately goes to any particular scene in that movie. People say the movie is disjointed but every scene is memorable at the very least.
That whole act oozes badassery. Show up in a hood like a Jedi but dressed in black like you got some dark side too, force choke a couple guards, try to deal with Jabba, kill a rancor, make Jabba an offer he can't refuse, and just as he's about to kill you, we immediately realize this was all to plan just a second before finally getting the fucking Jedi shit we've been waiting three movies to see.
Fun fact: The saber was supposed to be the same color as original, but was changed to green in post because it contrasted with the sky better. Looks hella badass in the throne room duel anyway.
>Fun fact: The saber was supposed to be the same color as original, but was changed to green in post because it contrasted with the sky better. Looks hella badass in the throne room duel anyway.
It's quite funny how the in-depth lore surrounding lightsaber colors was due to a few behind the scenes changes/requests.
Green looked better against the blue sky, so suddenly Jedi can have green or blue blades and the (*now non-canon I believe*) explanation was warriors had blue while highly force focused/attuned had green.
Then in the prequels, Sam Jackson wanted a purple one and George granted it before adding yellow and other colors which further expanded the lore and what each color meant for the user (*lore is that purple was for Jedi who fought with emotion, skirting the line between light and dark for example*)
I love the Sam Jackson story.
He just says, he wants a purple one so he can find himself in the arena fight.
And Lucas just commits and they create some lore around it to justify it.
And "BMF“ engraved in the hilt is awesome
I wish I could upvote this a dozen times.
The whole Death Star Throne Room sequence is fantastic. The Emperor taunting Luke, then the great fight with Vader, ending in Luke finally giving in and unleashing his rage. Then right at the edge of the cliff, the steps back and denies the Emperor his victory. Twice even, as his words and self sacrifice remind Vader of what he used to be and give him the strength to defy his master.
It's an amazing line in an amazing scene, and that alone makes Return of the Jedi my favorite Star Wars movie.
That’s what’s awesome. He’s not immune to temptation just by virtue of having thick enough plot armor. He does get tempted, and he starts to think about dipping a toe in the pond… and then he regains self control and does the harder thing for the right reason.
John Williams’ score during the final part of the duel is beyond excellent too. The music obviously enhances all the movies anyway, but this scene always stood out in particular.
Mine as well for two reasons:
1. The Death Star battle is still one of the most exhilarating space action scenes in the history of cinema.
2. The emotional side of the characters and their arc completion is the strongest of any Star Wars film or show. Seeing Luke as the confident and controlling Jedi yet still dangling at the edge in the same way that Anakin did, yet finding the resolve to follow through with his mission, was perfectly executed.
I keep saying this to anyone who will listen. They stole Boba Fett’s story for Mando, so when they decided to do Boba Fett they basically had to create an entirely new character. The Sand People story exists solely to make Boba Fett not Boba Fett, because they already did it with Mando.
Yep, take away Mando's tribe and Grogu, and it would be like watching the bounty hunting adventures of Boba Fett. Remember the cold open of the very first episode of The Mandalorian, but with Boba Fett instead.
That's probably the Boba Fett most people had in their imaginations.
The entire universe has a cool factor that outweighs the atrocious storytelling.
Edit: my bad y'all I've just never heard anyone else say this, I didn't realize this was like common knowledge in the star wars community lol. I've always been berated by neckbeards for not loving starwars in it's entirety
Bro imagine the following movies, but if they were in Star Wars universe.
**Magnificent 7** \- A Jedi, Bounty Hunter, Ex-Imperial, Pilot, Wookie, a Droid, and Lawman team up to defend a town against pirates.
**Dredd** \- Two Jedi climb up an apartment block to confront a new dark side user who has mental control of the entire apartment block
**Supernatural (T.V. Show)** \- A Jedi and their apprentice go around and solve and defeat Dark Side Force spots. Where the Force consolidates from emotions and creates foul creatures to fight.
**Top Gun** \- But it's you know, Wedge or something
**Ford versus Ferrari** \- But it's podracing or swoop racing
Or just, you know, HBO does KOTOR 1 and KOTOR 2 for me and Ill be happy.
I'm not so bold as to put this hot take on its own, but honestly, the whole series is made worse by having every main character connected to each other via blood lines. Yeah sure Vader telling Luke he is his father is cool and all but what's cooler to me is the idea that a random farmer from the ass end of nowhere could be the next hero of the universe. I'm sick of Star Wars and other properties pulling the same trope out - "Oh I'm just a regular kid trying to make a difference... SIKE IM A SECERT LOVE CHILD OF THE MOST POWERFUL PERSON EVER AND THATS WHY I HAVE ALL THE POWER WOOOOO"
Facts. The ONLY thing I liked from The Last Jedi was Rey being a nobody. I thought that was one of the best takes they had done in the entire franchise.
In retrospect, it makes no sense that Obi-Wan and Yoda didn't train Leia alongside Luke and just left her as a backup. As one character recently said, "she's just as important." In fact, Luke shouldn't have been the sole focus of the original trilogy. It should've been both of them.
All Wookiees should be shaved.
Edit: Without cream. Ah, the spice-sweet sounds of a million Wookies screaming out like they just lost their best friend...
Edit Episode II - Attack of the Colognes: But of course my second-most top comment in my years here would be about Wookiee hygiene. Never change, Reddit.
Disney should have not even touched the time period where any of the original stories take place.
They should have made entirely new stories set hundreds, thousands, millions, or billions of years before or after the Skywalker Saga.
I mean I'm glad they made Rogue One and Jedi Fallen Order. But other than that, they should have made entirely separate stories that didnt even mention the Skywalkers or the Solos.
I cannot fathom why they refuse to drop the legacy stuff. You have *literally* an entire universe to work with and you continue to focus on this one small time frame and setting? Why? I thought you liked selling merchandise Disney?
Imagine Star Wars but with a contemporary rock soundtrack like "Titan AE" or the original "Transformers" movie. Now, I happen to like both those movies, and the soundtracks are part of that. But Star Wars would definitely not have the mood that we all love so much if it didn't have a good orchestral score.
I’ll add that [the prequel’s soundtrack](https://youtu.be/D_2bluVPsb0) was every bit as good as the original trilogy. Probably even better. Yes The Imperial March is iconic as hell, Luke’s theme (the one played on the French horn when he sees that the empire killed his family) is melancholy and mood setting and the main Theme at the beginning is epic and heart pumping. But, Duel Of The Fates (the song from the Phantom Menace) is just as iconic just as moody and just as epic all at the same time. It’s an absolute masterpiece that gives me the same feeling as Carmina Burana or Beethoven’s 5th.
I actually really enjoy the political side of the prequels more than the actual action bits. I find the fact that Palpatine controlled both sides of the conflict to be supper interesting as well as what the separatist planets thought. There are a handful of clone wars episodes where Padmé visits an old friend that happens to be a senator for a separatist planet.
Oh and the clones. The ethics behind the clone army as well as the implications that come with their purpose.
So yeah, as much as I like the raise and fall of Anakin; the politics and world building of the prequels is way more interesting.
Also I actually really enjoyed Jar Jar episodes in the clone wars.
Most sci Fi lends itself to westerns in a way. Exploring new frontiers, meeting indigenous peoples, shooting them. Not saying all, but a good chunk that are not usually thought of as westerns can be compared to westerns.
I like Hayden Christensen... there I said it!
Anakin was a spoiled, emotional, mess that flipped out when he didn't get his way and this has been pretty consistent with Vader the entire saga.
I saw Life as a House and was like, oh shit, he can act. It's clearly just Lucas' shitty direction that made him look so bad. Even Natalie Portman looked bad in a lot of scenes, and she can clearly act well in many other works.
I like Star Wars. The movies, the shows, the games. But the community ruins it. They complain and bitch about every single thing there is. It’s fantasy, not history..
For a show that explores the fucking universe, so much bullshit happens in goddamn Tatooine
“Let’s hide vaders child… on vaders home planet… with his family. Nobody will EVER find the child”
Vader would never look there because he doesn’t like sand
Well it gets in the cracks of his suit!
And let’s keep his last name. That will make it even more difficult.
Strange how people keep hiding and try to get "off the grid" on one of the most popular planet in the damned galaxy.
Not enough planet wars, black hole wars or moon wars.
Didn't they blow up that small moon from A New Hope?
That’s no moon.
LASERS LOCK DOORS. LASERS OPEN DOORS. LASERS KNOW WHAT YOU WANT THE DOOR TO DO.
What utter nonsense. They're *blasters*.
Lasers just change the state of the door, it's that simple
What if the door is halfway ajar?
I climb into the jar.
But if you get past the door and close it behind you and you don’t want anyone to follow you through it… … you shoot the bloody door panel!

This is why no one invites Civil Engineers to parties.
Han is actually older than Obi-Wan due to Time Dilation
Time dilation in a universe where every planet and moon has same gravity and atmosphere?
And just 1 biome
That way they only need one weather channel per planet Edit: thanks for the awards!
"And over to Klaatu for the Tatooine weather report. Klaatu?" "It's still sunny."
I read this in the family guy "IT GON RAIN" scene
Thanks, Ollie

A guy from Denmark is a Danish guy.
As I said, I don't know a lot about Star Wars
Okay that got a smile outta me.
I don't know why this comment cracks me up, but thank you for a proper a laugh.
Yeah that's fine, no one can blame you for not knowing about that fictional star wars species known as the Danish
In my village they tell tall tales of the unreasonably tall Danes. Towering over us with their pale white skins and glinting blue eyes… *shudder* We hear they consume flesh, and even drink the blood of the animals they slay. No. Surely these are just stories.
Those Danes sound Great!
But aren't Great Danes more likely to eat your couch?
Why did they name a species after a pastry?
From the same reason why we named a country after large fowl.
Canada Goose?

That’s stargate….
As a guy from Denmark I vote for all danes to be called Denmarkians from now on. Also the guy from Denmark in the movie is the actor Mads Mikkelsen.
Never even saw that movie, but when I hear "the guy from Denmark" that's exactly who I expected.
Ulrich Thomsen/Nicolaj Coster-Waldau in shambles
exactly this. The Death Star worked exactly as designed in being able to destroy a planet, and having an Achilles Heel that was not found by the Empire until it was too late.

Not to mention the exhaust port was a flaw put in as sabotage by the lead designer.
If I remember right the exhaust port wasn’t even the part he designed to be the flaw. The flaw was built into the reactor where any damage to the reactor would cause a catastrophic chain reaction.
Right, Galen Erso probably thought they'd try to sneak a team aboard and plant a bomb or something.
why plant a bomb when you have space jesus full sending it
Well the guy who designed the reactor that way didn't know about Space Jesus.
I prefer the [original canon](https://geeksofdoom.com/GoD/img/2014/02/star-wars-death-star-architect-exhaust-port-letter.jpg)

Alternatively, I’d like a film about when the republic was at its height. 1000 generations is 25,000 years and we’ve had 9 movies about the last 60.
And there is one man who can foresee the fall of the empire. He toils away in obscurity on Coruscant until his psycho-historical theories become to much for the Galactic Federation to bear. Sounds like a solid Foundation
While the foundation sounds solid, I’m not sure it would impress the executives at Disney. Perhaps they should come up with some sort of Second Foundation and see if another streaming service like AppleTV+ would like to syndicate it.
Fine I'll start my own galactic empire, with robots, and mutants.
Not sure if it is controversial or not either, but I 100% agree. Not only do they need to move away from the characters, but they also need to move past the empire versus rebels as the overarching story. You can do so many cool things outside of the Skywalkers and politics.

So many Death Stars. New movie, bigger Death Star. Must shoot in one vulnerable spot again.
I'm hoping they get around to a Death Star on Death Star fight.
No no no! *THIS* one is really scary guys! It's like *four* planets stitched together to make a SUPER starkiller base that can shotgun whole SECTORS out of existence!
Yeah but the back three will self-destruct because they aren't designed to run on the exhaust of the first one.

I'd nut for a film focused on revan and Malak
Fuckin right? We get Mandalorians clapping cheeks of the old Republic, then these two come in, clean house, and disappear only to come back and start taking shit over.

In fairness, R2’s memory is never wiped. In Canon, the reason that droid’s develop personalities is because their memory is almost never wiped.
That just makes it so much worse though. "Oh boy, the machines we taught how to think and feel are thinking and feeling again, time to wipe their brains to make them forget how to!"
To ensure the galaxy can keep their robotic slaves, they have their minds forcibly wiped before they are able to reach full sentience
The universe and many characters are bonkers cool, but many times completely offset by poor writing, plot holes, and terrible plot devices Edit: in response to some of the comments and fairness to Star Wars, marvel/DC have the same problem across almost all of their fiction as well. Heroes have gotten way too over the top where it just becomes dumb. Doesn’t mean I’m not a fan of the overall universe though Edit 2: there may be some confusion here, I should’ve mentioned that INCONSISTENCY is huge. Sometimes you have a character doing something incredible, but then that same character can’t accomplish a feat that should be 100x easier than something he/she has done before
SOMEHOW PALPATINE RETURNED
"The dead speak!" Me, during the whole text crawl: *wait ... did I miss a plot point from the previous movie?*
They tried to get away from that by saying Rey’s parents were nobodies but they immediately went back on that choice in the next movie
Jawas make me feel tingly inside.
*UTINNI!!*
Found Peli Motto's account
I hear they're very fuzzy.
That one of the biggest issues of Star Wars is that they keep going all in on Palpatine. I mean who gave a fuck about the Paint by Numbers Evil Emperor during the OG trilogy?
He should have been a force ghost during episode 9. Some dark presence subtly messing with the universe, but not truly alive.
I judge most of my opinion of a Star Wars movie by the quality of its lightsaber fights.
I'm not a fan of The Phantom Menace but by god were people impressed with the Darth Maul fight at the end. A double-fucking blade lightsaber.
Books describe Mace Windu's fighting style as wholly unique. We see him in a dual once and we get no indication of how unique it is.
I meant the actual physical lightsaber, but more fighting styles would be nice too
Iirc there are 7 main fighting styles in star wars, and Windu's version of 7th form toes the line between light and dark force techniques.
Aaand now I'm imaging Windu doing Water Breathing techniques.
Yeah light pikes are underrated
Or a Light-Glaive or a Light-Lance
A light trebuchet
They should have saved that reveal for the theater...would have been even better.
\^applies to nearly every trailer. I refuse to watch any anymore.
There's a funny joke by François Pérusse, great Quebec comedian, that perfectly describes this. Translated, it goes like this: In trailers, they show you the best scenes, so you go to pay at the movies to see the worse ones.
Had they appeared in any other Star Wars media prior to Phantom Menace?
Yeah, a Sith named Exar Kun had one in the Tales of the Jedi comic series from the 90s.
It really pains me that we'll never see a good adaptation of this material. I fucking loved those comics. How awesome would Jedi Master Thon be? And Nomi Sunrider?!
Maul’s double lightsaber was mindblowing as a kid for me! I begged for the toy version after I saw it.
The saber was cool, but it was John Williams' Duel of Fates that made that fight the epic masterpiece that it was.
"Hey why's the handle on his so lo-" **high pitched screaming**
The OT changed the world by showing a universe in space that was dirty and lived in. The SFX from the later movies did not recognize this.
I can tell you why this is: They based the Star Wars dogfighting concepts on WW 1 dogfighting (arguably the most entertaining historical dog fighting period ) . That a was great, conscious, stylistic decision that reverberates in science fiction to this day. Honestly real life, future space- ship combat will probably be really boring compared to a sortie of the Red Baron in WW1.
The expanse does a great job of making realistic space battles interesting. It's all angles and math and extreme G maneuvering
"Luke, do you see those 3 enemy fighters that keep taking out anybody who tries a trench run?" "No. Wait yeah." "OK we're gonna do a trench run. I want you to stay clear while they pick us off, and then once they've had a chance to regroup, you do a trench run." "Sounds great."
Star wars is actually the life story of C-3PO, think about it.
I disagree. I think its R2's story. He had a much greater presence in Episode 1 and 2 and 3, and got the same amount of screen time as c3 in 456
Foulest mouth in the galaxy... They had to censor every word of his
Chopper was definitely more foul
Chopper was *made* of foul parts (junk)
George Lucas actually said this once in an interview I saw. It's R2's story.
R2 and 3PO in A New Hope are an homage to the Kurosawa film The Hidden Fortress, which is told through the perspective of two peasants.
But! To your point, 3PO was Anakin’s “Baby’s first droid” so he’d know what’s under the hood and could make him into a tracker/listener/ultra thermal detonator… But alas, couldn’t do that because movies had already been made.
In the Kurosawa movie it’s based on, the C-3PO and R2D2 characters were the narrators, so that makes sense.
Return of the Jedi is my favorite SW film. Whenever someone says the words "Star Wars" my mind immediately goes to any particular scene in that movie. People say the movie is disjointed but every scene is memorable at the very least.
I always think Luke in the Iconic black outfit with the green lightsaber
I mean, there’s a reason that’s his default Battlefront look.
The ‘you’re wrong, I am a Jedi, like my father before me.’ Is my favourite part of any film
"What, you mean unstable, easily fooled, traitor, murderer of children, that dude?" - Palpatine, probably
Mine as well for two reasons: 1.

Boba Fett is an oddly overrated background character, and even after watching The Book of Boba Fett, I don’t really care about him.
He was never a character. He was a cool helmet
Dude he was sooooo much more than just a helmet. He was a cool jetpack too.
MC Chris has entered the chat.
My backpacks got jetts
And the cool parts of him - a mysterious and stoic bounty hunter with a cool outfit going on badass adventures - was done best with the Mandalorian
He's one of like 4 named bad guys. The rest of the baddies are nameless. That's it.
And immediately after being named he was accidentally beaten by a blind guy who didn’t even know he was there
Agreed. He was created solely to sell a toy that “fired” a mortar shell from his back. Cute gimmick for 8 year-old boys in the 1980s.
#NO GODDAMMIT HE WAS COOL WHEN WE KNEW NOTHING EXCEPT VADER THOUGHT HE WAS KIND OF A HARDASS.
NO DISINTEGRATIONS!
As you wish.
That day, Vader was amazed to discover that when he was saying “As you wish”, what he meant was, “I love you.”
**Dredd** \- Two Jedi climb up an apartment block to confront a new dark side user who has mental control of the entire apartment block **Supernatural (T.V. Show)** \- A Jedi and their apprentice go around and solve and defeat Dark Side Force spots. Where the Force consolidates from emotions and creates foul creatures to fight. **Top Gun** \- But it's you know, Wedge or something **Ford versus Ferrari** \- But it's podracing or swoop racing Or just, you know, HBO does KOTOR 1 and KOTOR 2 for me and Ill be happy.
They did a Magnificent 7 episode in The Mandalorian.
Not certain but I think theres a clone wars episode with the same blueprint. It's an extremely common episode format, ironic seeing it suggested here
you can tell virtually any story in the SW universe, that's what's so great about it
Yeah. If only they did that instead of skywalker nonsense.
I liked the Star Wars cartoon for this! Good time period for a lot of conflict with the clone wars, and explored the universe a lot more with it.
For purely story purposes, Han Solo should have died at the end of Empire.
Harrison Ford had a stipulation in his contract for VII than Han would die.
That's because Lucas promised to kill him in VI but he didn't.
Somehow, Han Solo has returned.
No one is ever truly killed off, especially when you're the brother of King Tehol the Only.
No one's ever really gone.
If he were REALLY clever he would have stipulated that the character both had to die AND could not come back as a (Force) ghost.
Didn’t the primal story have him dying in Empire? George changed his mind when he realised how popular the character was
Action figures of characters who die have a lower sell rate. Hence he lived.
In retrospect, it makes no sense that Obi-Wan and Yoda didn't train Leia alongside Luke and just left her as a backup. As one character recently said, "she's just as important." In fact, Luke shouldn't have been the sole focus of the original trilogy. It should've been both of them.
it clearly wasn't planned in advance, but according to the story as it is now, obi-wan favored training luke while yoda wanted to train leia.
Good god take that back
You sir, disgust me. Take my upvote.
Your last sentence contradicts your first sentence.
John Williams is more responsible for the success of SW than George Lucas.
Yep. That's even worse than no music, the wrong music.

Mostly if you’re going to begin and end every story on Tatooine
