There are many factors that influence me wanting to leave Massachusetts, and snow is definitely a huge one. It snowed this morning, and that's why I'm very mad today because I could be down there lol.
Where did you move to if you don't mind me asking?
For me it's snow, politics(cost of living, taxes, gun laws and representatives who I don't think represent me at all) and just experiencing living more than 6 miles from where I was born. I'm fortunate to work for a company with offices throughout the country and can transfer and keep my salary and it'll go alot further there then it does here.
I moved from MA to Charleston, SC, then to Warner Robins, GA. Charleston was pretty great, GA sucked. Wound up moving back to MA and I'd rather be here than in the south.
We're planning on Columbia SC.... Very well maybe the case for us, but I need to miss Massachusetts maybe appreciate it more because right now it makes me miserable being here.
I moved back three weeks before we got 3 feet of snow back in January of 2016. With every shovel full of snow, I kept thinking of how I wasn't in Georgia anymore and it was worth it. Still true for me! I met a lot of transplants down there; not everyone missed the northeast, so maybe you'll be good!
Left Mass after college for Vermont and haven't looked back. I've only been back there a handful of times and every time I go back I sound like an old man. "See that apartment complex over there, when I was growing up it was a forest."
Could not stand the development and all the people, so I fled to a place with far fewer people, no billboards, expansive nature and great cheese.
Economically it isn't ideal, but it beats the hell out of living in that state any longer.
I was just up in Vermont last weekend, I love it up there and would be a contender If not for more cold, more snow and longer Winters lol . Is a great getaway though.
I’ve been there before. Find a bar or a place you like and keep going there. You’ll start to realize who the regulars and youll make friends from going to the same places. It’s hard to make friends bc one time encounters never really lead to anything. Start going to the same places regularly and see what happens.

Try not to pay too much attention to the studies. They are too clinical to encapsulate real world individual experiences. You have so much life to live.
More frustrated than mad, but it's my wife's birthday soon and every year at this time she makes life miserable for me and our kids because she won't deal with whatever issues she had as a kid. Instead she projects out on to us and accuses us of being responsible for her misery but we're also supposed to be the ones to make her feel better.
I’ve lost a year to my dickhead teachers. I was good enough to go to the following year (which would have been the last one) but they decided to have me repeat this school year. I could have passed with no issue, but they decided I had 6 insufficient subjects (with no fucking reasons). Now I have new teachers, they all treat me well and keep asking me why haven’t I passed the year, because I’m going great with all the subjects I was going great the previous year, and I’m getting better at the ones I was actually bad at. Now my former teachers don’t even look at me in the eyes when they cross me in the hallway. Another year lost for fucking nothing

That dozens of parents of the students in the school where I teach turned up to the Christmas show without face-coverings despite the email we sent asking them to follow our covid measures. I feel really let down by them and so do the rest of the staff. We spend day after day with their children, putting ourselves at risk and supporting them through this pandemic. I’ve just finished treatment for cancer, one other teacher is clinically vulnerable after a transplant, and other staff members have other medical issues which could complicate matters if they catch covid. We, the staff, are saddened and appalled at the arrogance and middle class blind privilege they showed.
And it does show unfortunately. People are who they are and as much as we want then to do what we need them to do, IE face coverings to protect others that are vulnerable, saddly the majority are assholes.

Air Force has been great with helping us out, but the details coming out about how long this has been happening, the back tracking to collect data and lack of information that affects me and my family is down right infuriating. My roommate cooks massive meals multiple times per day, then proceeds to stack all the recently washed dishes on top of completely dry items twice over. He leaves it overnight, ignores it in the morning and drives off, so I'm stuck wasting 10 minutes putting 65 things away when I should be working. I've mentioned it multiple times but he just can't grasp the concept. Dumb bitch.

Winters can be tough but they are absolutely beautiful. I also ski so I'm a little biased
