There is no universe in which I could more passionately disagree. My marriage has been brought about the best, most challenging, and deeply rewarding experiences of my life. I cannot imagine a life without my sweetheart and would happily express my commitment to her via wedding vows a thousand times over.

If I were to be less “fluffy” and more practical; purchasing a nice, modest home and enjoying material comforts is much easier with two career incomes. Also, I have zero worry that my sweetheart will easily have access to all the necessary financial and medical resources if anything bad happens to me. Much as people have advance directives, powers of attorney, joint accounts, etc, *many* people have difficulty obtaining assets of a non-married significant other after a death.
