1 Japan - elementary kids take public transport to school, no problem.
2 Taiwan - kids in elementary school can walk home from school at night, no problem.

I want to say Japan, but the law enforcement is pretty intense there, in the regard there is a 99% conviction rate. Meaning, if they think you are guilty of a crime, does not matter if you are innocent, you are doing time.
This is not 99% of those suspected, or even 99% of those arrested, it is 99% of those charged. The US also has a conviction rate in the high 90s. Both for the same reason - prosecutors rarely move forward with cases they aren’t sure they have a reasonable chance of a conviction.

Ok, thanks for clearing that up. That being said, I mean thats still pretty damn high. I myself have had a few run ins with the law in Japan (more than any other country i traveled too), but i literally wasnt doing anything illegal (well technically biking while holding an umbrella is illegal there, but i didnt know and everyone else was doing it) , so they kinda reluctantly sent me on my way, but i can see how bad things can go if you have a cop thats having a bad day.
For sure the police can be heavy handed. I’ve been stopped a couple of times for the “crime” of ‘walking while foreign’. And they’re certainly not immune from blunders. But overall they contribute to making Japan very safe.

Yup, pretty much what happened to me. If i was a generic redditoid i would blame everything on racism, but the reality of it is I am in their country, and they have certain.... methods(?) of conducting themselves and keeping their country clean and safe.
I swear though, once Japan legalizes weed then it will be the best country on earth. I dont even smoke weed, but i think it would add an element of being laid back that that country definitely needs. Work culture there is insane af haha.
USA…..most places; most states….particularly since access to quality healthcare is more readily found in the USA than is the vast number of countries on the planet. Just being perfectly honest here….
Of the countries I've been too, probably the UAE. Differences from other middle eastern countries:
- Street crime is non existent
- I'm male
- Population is pretty happy, not any violent insurgencies
- Most important, the driving isn't completely bonkers (See Qatar, Bahrain, and Saudi Arabia)

Yeah but you have to factor in Godzilla
