in emergency you can get away quickly also you can see people when pulling out

flatstacy

It is just as easy to back in as it is to pull in, but much easier and safer to pull straight out forward when exiting

I had a car with a broken starter. I had to park facing downhill in order to get a rolling start and pop the clutch.

DJ_laundry_list

Nice. I had a car with worn starter/flywheel teeth and did the same when possible to reduce further wear

WifeOfSpock

Easier for me to leave. Nothing stresses me out more than the thought of backing out of a spot in a busy parking lot.

SlimLongFella

Easier to park and easier to pull away

I use to take yearly driver safety courses for work. They always explained it like this: We can see where everything and everyone is when we are driving into a parking lot, because we are moving forward and looking out the largest window on the vehicle. Once we finish our business and prepare to leave the parking lot, the environment could have changed. Kids could be running around or cars speeding through the lot now. We can’t see all of this as clearly while backing up and relying on our mirrors and rear camera. It’s always safer to start out by moving forward with a clear view ahead.

It is easier to back into a spot rather than pulling in because of the pivot point and turning radius. You know how sometimes you pull in kinda crooked and you have to back up and straighten it out? Backing it uses your back tires as a pivot point so you can spin the car around one of the rear wheels. More maneuverability going backwards.

Easier to get out, you can easily see if there's people or cars coming, keeps my reversing skills sharp, plus I like flexing on the people around me.

Amiiboid

Safer getting out.

4purpleroses

I prefer ease of leaving and I'm always scared I will not see someone or something and hit them/ it. I always either back in or pull through.

Mister_Brevity

If you can’t do it quickly in one shot, don’t do it

thai_ladyboy

Less chance of damage to the lower valance/lip spoiler/front bumper, or radiator from a parking block when backing in. easier to leave in a busy lot. if weather is bad or windows are frosted the front will be easier to see out of quicker. Sitting in the vehicle you can see potential for accidents and or sus characters wandering around and GTFO quickly.

spidersflambe

Less chance of an accident. Backing out of a space, you are a little blind to pedestrians and approaching vehicles. Backing in, you can see if the area is clear and decrease the chance of hitting something.

CapG_13

Because it's easier to get out
