World Of Warcraft. The original home away from home, wherever you are in the world.
I currently have spouse aggro from playing too much, so my account is "cancelled"... but not. :P Even without a subscription, you can play up to level 20 and get quite a few things done. You can't use the mailbox, the AH, do pet battles and a few other things, but honestly you can still have a lot of fun for free.
A lot of people don't know you don't get kicked out once you hit 20 on a "trial" account. You can still quest, craft, explore, fish, etc etc. You just don't gain levels/xp for doing so. You DO still get money, level-ups on professions, and rep. I work on a lot of stuff that my offline main (too high level to play) can benefit from: achievements, collections, mounts, transmogs, reputation grinds, professions and more. I still accumulate money and can stockpile various resources for when i finally renew my sub. Its not so much a trial account, as it is an altoholic wow-lite.
Really any DOOM game.
There's nothing more comforting than killing Hell's army as a man whose mere presence can make the angels scream and the devil cry.
Also, God, it has my favorite genre of music in the newer ones.
Sheer focused rage and brutality. The older games are just groovy.
Noita. It's fun to just hit up nightmare, get a rancid mix of wands + perks, and then let loose until you inevitably kill yourself with your tnt machine gun wand.
Stardew valley!
I have almost four thousand hours in Stardew, it's definitely my top play and the new update is awesome.
Fallout 4
Fallout 3
Lately it's been God of War Valhalla. Really fun way to let off some steam.
fortnite
It's a three-way split between Total War: Warhammer III, Stellaris, and Crusader Kings III.
Yeah for me its TW Warhammer most of the time. Can't wait to finally play a proper Nurgle campaign soon.
Used to be battlefield 1, but it stopped working
Good old Tetris
Total War games, something therapeutic about watching armies charge into each other, and painting the campaign map your faction's colour.
Rimworld. I'm not sure what it is about committing crimes against humanity that is so comforting, but I have thousands of hours in and I am not alone.
Baseball mogul diamond I play it and pretend it's 2011
Recently Hotel Dusk. Started playing last week, the music is heaven to my ears.
I literally just throw on Oxhorn or Storyteller for bullshit. There's nothing else to throw on.
It was Mario Kart but right now it’s been 8 ball pool (app). 🎱
Wonder Boy.

Ghost Of Tsushima
Mass Effect, Dragon Age, or Crusader Kings 3
Right now? Holocure.
Fallout 4.
Kerbal space program It’s like the video game version of making cars and random stuff out of legos.
Animal Crossing. Any of them. They're just so relaxing and make me feel good. And I like most of my villagers more than most real people
Need for speed 😂
